Langley Leisure Centre Review

So happy it's open at last, it's cleaner then it's ever been, helpful and friendly staff.

The pool is nice, all seems clean and I haven't found a broken locker yet! I've yet to try the cafe, but I feel like they've missed a trick not getting a barista in as I like a proper coffee.
Parking is ample and free, total massive bonus!
They lose a star for hit and miss receptionists. Almost seems like only one person knows how to use a pc and simple requests can take an age. I recommend sorting any admin out in quiet periods if you can.

Still teething problems around fees payable etc. causing slight delays at entrance

It's a shame that after a refurb, the could have made the steam room bigger and still had the other jaccuzi. Being a member I find the classes I want are usually booked up quickly, you have to get in there early. They shouldn't have go rid of the 2nd studio, this would have meant the could have provided more classes

It has only just opened after a refurb..unbelievably...It is absolutely filthy, the floors are really dirty! In showers there is no where to hang your towel which is inconvenient? You need to be able to wash and then dry with a clean towel. Not put your chlorine soaked kit back on after washing which is completely senseless. The pool looks a lot better and ventilation has improved since refurb! Could be awesome with a decent cleaning maintenance schedule..Lockers and changing facilties have improved aethetically, although they are really dirty with mud all over the floors and seats! Staff are not friendly and welcoming at all! Sitting around doing nothing they should be cleaning or something! They need better training! Sadly dissappointed! I wanted this to be my new gym and now it looks like it won't be :(

First time for my daughter and I and we liked it here.
It's not a massive pool but it's very nice and it wasn't over busy.
Great for little kids.

Racist staff, like gangs.
Create stories about the kids and deal between them, specially when they see people with dark hair

Went to sign up tonight and have a look around, I was sat waiting for membership while they dealt with another client. Someone else walked in asked about membership I got completely bypassed for the next person was I sat there for the fun of it I don't think so. I won't even bother going back again to try and join, I'd rather of kept my contract at my old gym rolling at least the customer services isn't a shambles.

I have been a swimming member of this facility for two months now. I have asked on every visit for a swimming pool timetable. The centre refuses to give me a time table and refuses to put one on their website. This is bewildering, maddening and bizzare. Some staff agree with me that this is bewildering, maddening and bizzare and some trot out a non-sensical "party line" about "the centre likes to have a fluid timetable that it can change at short notice".For the love of God I just want to know if it is possible for me to have a swim on a given time of the day / week or not. This is basic... I have been turned away on random occasions because it is impossible to navigate centre timings. This community facility is being preposterously mismanaged by "Everyone Active". If clairvoyancy is a skill you possess then wow! this is a 5 star location. For the rest of us that are unskilled in the ways of the crystal ball and for the poor staff you put in there to defend the indefensible zero or minus 10 stars can only be awarded. Extraordinary!

I'm a little disappointed in the leisure centre the cleanliness of the facility is below average. The women's dry changing room is very dirty and is not cleaned properly at all. The dirt behind the door for the women's toilet has been there 3 weeks straight. The floors are turning black from not being cleaned. I see the cleaner cleaning in the mornings but still isn't clean. Think it's time to find a new cleaner before all that money that was used for a refurbishment is ruined by poor cleanliness.

Despite a year long refurbishment, the changing room floor is still pale grey, dirty and with clumps of hair over it. The pool was cold again last night as it used to be before they closed. On the day the pool opened last week it was actually a pleasant and warm temperature, now it`s gone back to it`s colder temperature. The steam room has been made smaller, you cant get more than about 3 people in it, and the jacuzzi is smaller. They`ve filled in the old jacuzzi and left it there as a huge concrete bollard which is a waste of space and the new jacuzzi is not as good. The really shocking thing was that they still havent installed a proper wall mounted sound system, the music for the aqua aerobics is through a small stereo unit that is wheeled to the side of the pool and plugged into the mains where it`s stood near the water. It`s not strapped to the wall for safety. If that was knocked into the water while plugged into mains electric it doesnt bear thinking about. No regard for health and safety. There was also an alarm going off in the plant room for a lot of the time last night.

The swimming pool is disgustingly filthy at the moment. There is dirt and debris on the floor of the pool in the water which congregates in piles around the bottom. The duty manager this evening admitted that he wouldnt want to take his shoes and socks off and paddle in it. Yet you expect us to and pay for the privilege too!! He tried to pacify us and say that it`s only sand, but had to back down when I pointed out that it`s NOT just sand, it`s a vile, disgusting soup of sand, hair, plaster, corn plasters and any other debris that falls off people. One woman in our aqua class had to stop to peel off all the hair which had wound around her fingers, so she could dump it on the side. I felt something brush past my legs also. Absolutely disgusting!! You`d never guess this place was cleaned up and refurbished 5 months ago.

And dont even get me started on the state of the changing rooms and the floors in there plus the over flowing sanitary bin this evening!! I took pictures of it in case you dispute this.

Nice pool. But most staff I have seen there are so awful just scowling at you. I work in a minimum wage job and can still manage a smile and greeting I often feel like I have interrupted some highly important meeting when trying to pay for a swim. Feel the staff are very immature and have nothing better to do than mock the customers. Not a nice atmosphere and slippery flooring is a hazard seen a few people slip

Date - 15th February 2019.
Pros:
- relatively clean (since refurbishment)
- currently, vast majority of equipment is in good working order
- Most staff (in the gym) are knowledgeable and helpful

Cons:
- Floor has been caved in the free weights section at or before November 2018 (so 4 months since I joined). Has not been fixed, and members have not been refunded in any way (instead dumbbells above 20 kg have been removed).
- Poor staff to customer ratio (in gym), making it hard to get help when busy
- Other gyms in the area (which do not belong to Everyone Active) are usually cheaper and offer comparable service.

Was a member before the refurbishment and the changes made are beyond my comprehension. They ve removed the amazing fun slide, they ve in-filled the old Jacuzzi and built a new smaller one where the slide used to be, they ve made the steam room smaller - it can barely fit three people making it very uncomfortable and awkward, they ve painted everything grey which it makes a very dull atmosphere, the changing rooms are completely filthy that I get the shivers thinking about it, the staff have no idea what they re doing I walked in for free as they couldn t work out how to give me a pass, won't be coming back again, the one star is for the upgrade to the size of the gym facilities, they ve completely ruined the spaces that was available to them to expand but instead created worse facilities

Bad service. Swimming lessons start late and finish early. No true involvement of swimming teachers in the class.

A great place to workout. Gym is well equipped and the swimming pool and sauna are decent.

Went today for the family day. Poorly controlled and rude staff.
Cannot see what the 18 month closure was for.
Nothing around the pool improved only removal of the slide.
A real shame. Will take a lot for me to be won over.

I'm posting this as a 1 star because I have check the timetable two days in a row and both days have walked round with a very excited 2 year old to go swimming to be told that we can't because they have lessons on. My 2 year old was so upset and I ended up having to take her to Uxbridge. Which by the way is amazing! I would recommend it x

Pool area looks fresh and bright, same as the old one but less to do. No more little slide and the larger side has gone as the jacuzzi is now in the corner, should have left it alone dissapointed

Staff so horrible, really don't like unfit people, appalling attitudes

Returned to give a second chance 6 months after previous experience. No improvement whatsoever, nobody could tell me cost of membership and most staff just ignored me. Needs new management or nothing will change (read other reviews)

Tried the facilities out and since they have reopened its a total disaster. There's a gym about 0.25 miles away at Langley College that has a much better gym and staff that actually care and help you achieve your goals, the classes are amazing there. Its called Absolutely Fitness.

Not to mention its less than half the price...says it all.

After 18 months of refurbishments, the centre re opens with High hopes. Within the first few months, there are massive craters in the weight room floors. You were making repairs for 18 months and no one anticipated that weights might drop More

Have tried to speak to someone about membership but nobody bothers to call back. Customer service poor considering it's jurt reopened!

Very poor customer service. No reply to any of your queries. Very lethargic and not properly trained employees in the reception.

Pretty poor experience so far here. Been a memeber around three months, it s not even been open long and already flooring has started to cave in and equipment is broken with no knowledge of when it will be fixed, do yourself a favour and sign up elsewhere plenty of excellent gyms in the area, I signed up for convenience of location but it s become inconvinient to train here so may aswell go further out, equipment is scarce enough here without it being broken.

Has a swimming pool and good gym services but can be busy at times.

Air temperature is to low compared to the pool temperature which is low enough itself causing you to feel the chill. Especially bad for young children. One gentleman with his daughter asked me if it was always this cold and after thinking about it I couldn't say otherwise. If not for the above then 4-5 stars.

Great range of fitness classes. Excellent instructors. Nice pool, steam room and jaccuzi. Amazing gym. Easy to book with app. Reasonable prices.

It's changed alot. If I were to give it a rating before the whole refurbishment it would be a 4/5. However, you now pay more than double the price for a membership, they took away the flume and it's almost seems like they spent 7 million pounds on nothing. The old staff are really nice. But, some staff can be extremely rude.

Very bad customer service at the counter, ladies there are very ill mannered and don t know how to properly talk to a customer, very disappointed in the way this great leisure centre has been handled with staff. Will need to talk to someone higher above.

The reception is the first point of contact and they should be welcoming and friendly. As soon as the new gym was going to open I applied for my membership online I got an email saying everything was processed and the payment had been taken the following day I had to show proof of ID that showed I am a student in order to receive the student membership, the lady working there had taken a picture of my ID and made me refill a direct debit form which I was fine with. I was going gym regularly and randomly one day my pass would not scan I waited in the line for 20 minutes and asked the staff at the reception why isn t my card working first she goes oh I don t know then she says you haven t shown proof of age which I did. Then they made me wait for the other lady for 20 minutes but then my card instantly started to work. After a week I went to the gym today and my pass stopped working again I asked the girl at reception and she said oh well I don t have access to find out why it isn t working and she had an absolutely disgusting attitude she then scanned it and something showed up on the system she said something which I did not understand and I asked her why is that and she goes I don t know very rudely again making me look like an idiot. I work as a receptionist myself and I know the standards of how your supposed to communicate with customers. The gym shouldn t have employed staff that don t know what they are doing and have a bad attitude maybe a tip would be to give them training so that they don t get rid of customers. They then expected me to wait again as if I had all the time in the world so I gave up and left. I will not be recommending this pathetic gym to anyone.

The quality of the fitness classes and experience of the instructors is good, but it s let down by the nasty surroundings and horrendous customer service.

They continuously cancel classes, yet they don t let their members know. All it takes is a phone call, but they can t be bothered to do that. Most of the staff at the front desk usually have no idea what s going on and are not very helpful, or friendly.

It s been open a couple of months since re-opening and the place is already a pigsty! The fitness studio, spinning studio, gym, toilets and changing rooms never get cleaned. The floors are absolutely filthy; you don t want to put your water bottle/accessories on the floor, let alone your body whilst exercising in the studios. Literally, the exact same pieces of litter are in the exact same places two weeks later in the spinning and fitness studios.

It s such a shame because it looked excellent in the first week of opening and the facilities and classes available are good, the instructors are good, and a couple of the front desk staff are relatively helpful.

I ll change the rating to five stars once they decide to start cleaning on a regular basis and improve their communication and customer service.

P.s Don t go to the toilets. I ve seen cleaner public toilets in India!

Website showed open Tuesday 31st. Until 10 pm. Was closed at 6.45 pm! Wasted journey.

They charge quite a bit usually, but the facilities are great and they actually function properly unlike those in other gyms, why did I go to London, all I know is pain here because there are no gyms which even come close to this one here. PAIN

Been trying to book yoga class for weeks & weeks...first few it was always fully booked but this last week or so I cannot even attempt to book online as system won t allow me. Says there s a query on my account. Been trying to ring for days and can never get through and now cannot even find an email address to email them.
