A grand hotel with a beatiful rennovation. We loved our corner suite on the 34th floor, at a great value. What a view. An excellent pool area and beach access with a good choice of restaurants. We will be back!

This hotel provides false advertisement. I wanted to cancel my room before the 3 day period which is free and when I called the second day they wanted to charge me 300 dollars. Once I explained to them I was not going to pay it because it said if I cancel before the 3rd day it was a free cancellation. They did not listen to me, they were rude and hanged up. I called and they did not answer anymore.
The main lobby is really cool and has a huge open space with palm trees and big windows. It really feels like a five-star experience. The front pool and spa area overlooks the ocean and you have a ton of beach space in front. The staff did a really good job of not being a hover helicopter but still being really helpful. I was there for a conference so I didn't get to use a lot of the amenities but the meeting spaces were nice too.
I was at the diplomat landings while renting a boat the area was very nice!

Visited for a business conference. Conference accommodations were comfortable, A/V was very good, and food service was efficient. Nice facility with great views. I wish more conferences were like this.
Just visited this past weekend! Staff was super nice and even though my balcony ocean view room wasn't ready on time they found a room with a (working) balcony and ocean view two floors higher that was available! The pools were beautiful and even though there was a lot of people the pools are so big it wasn't very noticeable. Absolutely loved this hotel, hoping I can take my family next time!!

One of the problems with built-in gratuities is that there is no individual incentive to provide a good experience.
Last night, I saw a couple sit down at Playa before 5:55pm (oceanside bar & restaurant). They patiently waited for several minutes before the gentleman got up to look for service. When he found someone, that person went to get someone else. That second person didn't arrive until 6:05p. At that point the kitchen had "closed" (6:00pm closing time), so the employee explained they couldn't get dinner there... Funny thing, another table's food came out several minutes later.
I estimate that at least 75% of the staff at The Diplomat are indifferent to their guests. They do not treat you bad, they just don't give two-shakes if you are having a good experience or if they are meeting service expectations of the resort.
My problem with this is, I am paying for the experience of a resort. By paying I mean... the additional fees, built-in gratuity, over-priced average food, etc. I am perfectly fine with this if the service is commensurate with the cost.
While at the pool on day-two, we overheard another customer raise the same issue with a manager.
This is a culture issue, not a "one-off".
The Diplomat is located in a good place next to many hotels. The service is very good and the food is delicious. I went to an event and they served food of all kinds, and everything was 5 stars.
Hotel is nice but the staff is trash. The bartenders get a pass they were great but everyone else we encountered were horrible. You're in Hollywood not Beverly hills get off your high horse.
Excellent and wonderful hotel. It is truly a luxury. The pool is great and amazing. It is very relaxing, you can perform different activities such as going to the Spa and going to the gym. The rooms are beautiful and very hygienic. You can get tremendous views of the sea. The parking lot is very accessible and large (I do not recommend paying the "valet parking").
Whoa ocean view! I got a double bed, ocean view room with a balcony. The room is well thought out with a deep soaker tub separate from the shower with plantation shutters allowing for viewing of the t.v. or chatting with loved ones while soaking. The tv is over 50 inches, the room has an espresso machine and a fridge. Plenty of charging options for all your devices. There's also a desk. I used the business center and it's fully stocked and you can FedEx items if needed. The breakfast buffet is absolutely delicious with made to order omelets and waffles. Servers are attentive. The canteen store has plenty of healthy options for late night snacks. The hotel store is very well organized but pricey. Go to a local store if able. Finally there's the staff. They are wonderful and self starters. Book it now

Absolutely gorgeous tropical beach resort BUT the pool and beach area was filthy and lots of trash the next morning when we went to see the sunrise at 7am, it was not until later that the service began to clean up... it should have been cleaned up early in the morning...
Hotel is nice.... But there are plenty of nice hotels in the same area. Make sure you check your tab four times, They will double charge your account for drinks at the pool bar and also try to double charge your valet if you let them. Convenient mistakes.....

Everything was high end and worth every penny. Spacious lobby. Convenient store is a bit pricey. Suites are amazing. Outdoor pool. Great bartenders at the bar in the lobby. Great place for photo shoots, weddings, ocean views, romance, etc. Great service. Valet parking. Wheelchair accessible. Clean restrooms. Easy to spot in traffic.

Convenient parking with a sky bridge to the front door of the hotel, great customer service, and a beautiful place to stay. After checking in the receptionist Neka text me and I was able respond to her the following day, my request to vacuum and get my bed sheets changed was addressed while I was out for lunch.
Did not stay there. Just went for a convention. But the scenery was gorgeous
This place is completely overrated. The only positive is the location. The rooms are nice, but the food and service are horrific. Waited 1 hour for pool side lunch and 80 minutes for dinner at the better restaurant. The food was not worth the wait both times. Extremely unfortunate! This place is overpriced and not worth it. There are other really nice places in South Florida so look around!! Don't recommend!!!

We are here for 4 days as part of a company trip. Check in was very good. We received a very nice and clean room.
Food seems very pricey for what it is. The burger place doesn't open until 5pm ...which is unfortunate. Since there's nothing really walking distance , I feel like you are also stuck with the $35 breakfast offering.
Cocktails were also pricey and certainly not indicative of quality as most were so so.
Most will disagree with this, but there is also not a designated smoking area for cigarettes or cigars. People who like to enjoy a smoke with a few expensive cocktails have to go elsewhere. Meanwhile your outdoor seating area remained 90% empty . We also did not notice any bar service in those seating areas which might help business as well.
We also notified housekeeping that the in room Nespresso machine was not operating properly...nothing was done.
Overall big beautiful hotel that may need to pay attention to certain details to make a great experience for everyone.
Beautiful hotel, great amenities but super expensive esp the food, drinks. Great pools, has a kid area, bar and eatery also outside, can walk unto the beach and rent the chairs and umbrellas. Balcony area, careful you don't trip over the floor lip. Rooms are spacious, nice decor, renting movies are expensive, they need to do a better job with vacuuming the rugs. Not as clean as it should be for the price. Parking lot across for $35/day. Can improve on prices.

The location is great, huge pool, and easy beach access, but the service, prices, and rooms are definitely not worth the money. When Starwood, used to own this location, the hotel experience was luxurious, and worth every penny. Bigger rooms, bigger beds, and just everything was very spacious, but now that Hilton took over, and supposedly had a 100 million improvement, we and other customers have noticed the hotel has done nothing but downgrade. Everything here is cheap! ( but definitely not the prices) I wasn t very happy here, and enjoying my vacation until Christina from security comforted me with her hospitality and kindness. Also out of all of the front desk employees, Gloria was the only nice person there that was willing to hear us. Plus they locked us out of our room because they needed to see my ID once again so they could confirm that that was my room.
Great location. Easy to airport. Neighborhood feels safe. Very nice facility. Clean everywhere. Very family friendly. Staff was excellent, friendly and outgoing. Even our housekeeping staff was great. Special shout out to the very sweet and attentive housekeeper on 30th floor Gabriella. She was really great. Would go back again.
Wonderful rooms well appointed. Love the bath beside the bed with shutters between. Quite a loud hotel. Extremely expensive to have a beer.

The company culture is obviously healthy given how courteous and pleasant the staff are. Very clean.
It was nice to see that they are human given there was a shower cab hanging from the hook in the bathroom, left by the previous guest and missed by housekeeping. I was totally OK with that because I didn t need the hook :)
My only complaint is the prices charged in the canteen, but I have the option to not buy, so it s all good!

I liked the resort, but it was undergoing renovations while I was there. I came back to my room midday on one occasion to it smelling like the waterproofing that they were doing on my balcony. Fortunately it was tolerable by bedtime. Overall the place felt a bit aging, and that explains the renovations. I'd likely revisit.
Gorgeous place, peaceful and pleasant atmosphere. This resort is primarily for family, not couples. Outside area including our room was clean. Customer service at check-in desk not to pleasant (females) but the men there especially at the concierge (Pedro)was excellent. Ms Hope (housekeeper) was astronomical with pleasant attitude. Kept a smile on her face at all times. Now what need to be addressed is at follows.....
First, I requested why they need our credit card after our stay was paid in full months in advance stated" we normally does this, resort policy" as if she didn't want me to ask her anything. Found out at check-out time. We were charge resort fee for each day we were there with tax added to each day . Second, they do not provide nor offer any incentive if you are there on a celebratory occasion (our 20 year anniversary ) . Third, this resort charge extra for everything. Restaurants including room service is pricey ex: 2 cheese burgers with fries plus hot wings $85 plus they charge to use red lounge chairs on the beach a 2hour use time. Also, they give you wood chips for complementary bottle of water at the Canteen (1 bottle of water per day) after that you are on your own with hydration. Water should be provided at all times for free especially in a hot, humid State. If you bringing children to this resort you need to bring extra money to accommodate their price or you will end up ordering food from outside restaurants. Or broke trying to feed a family of 4 or more! Fourth, check-out time is 11am and someone knocking on our door around 7:30am as though they are in a rush to put us out "aww, I thought you all left" someone said. I thought that was rude, disrespectful and unprofessional. Not nice at all. While we were sleep. So, I gave 3 only for Ms Hope, Pedro and resort was clean. Will I suggest this resort to anyone else. Yes, if they are well to do/rich family. No, if the family and/or friend on a budget. Please respond back with something of worth; different besides that same automated response I read from the last 20 reviews. Be blessed, Be safe and Be well!!!
We came here for our honeymoon, and were pretty underwhelmed by the service - we mentioned in our booking section that we were on our honeymoon, and the front desk check in concierge just said congrats, and nothing more. Tonight is our last night, and we told the server at the restaurant downstairs that it's the last night of our honeymoon, and she said congrats and brought us the check.
Little touches can go a long way, and we didn't get any of that during our stay here. We had a great time at the beach and at the pools, but in general the staff were not warm and we didn't feel like we were on our honeymoon.
I would avoid this resort for any special occasions. It seems to be more of a family focused resort, and they don't seem to really deliver for couples on honeymoons.

This is the 4th year I have stayed at this hotel and never remember having to call down to the front desk to ask for hand soap to wash my hands. I was here for a conference and asked others and they said the same thing that their rooms had no soap to wash their hands. Also I would leave my dirty towel on the floor so they would take it and provide clean ones. No they picked the dirty one off the floor and folding it back up and left it on the tub. Visits at the hotel have changed. Will be looking for another hotel to stay at in the future
Very nice, family friendly hotel. We enjoyed a nice 5 day vacation , and my family had a great time. Hotel has everything you need, very clean, and the rooms just immaculate. Staff is very courteous and knowledgeable, a big plus for out of towners. Will consider returning.

Horrible valet service. Staff couldn't find the conference room where I was taking a $1500 class. They charged me an additional $100 to get my luggage out of my room, because I was 12- minutes late for checkout (lecture ran over). Room alarm clock did not work. Windows were disgustingly dirty. Overall, hard to believe this place would even consider charging what they charge. I've stayed at better Best Western's before. Won't be going back.
Check in pleasant as long as you don't mind tipping. Curb tip for cart to unload your baggage on to. Bell tip because they won't let you push the cart you just unloaded your stuff on to up to your room yourself. Room is very beautiful. Large spaces and well appointed. Full on view of the ocean. However the balcony sliders are locked so you can't go out there. Big disappointment there. Maintenance they say.
Not sure where to start ...Hotel overall is nice..beautiful views from balcony at ocean..but service and people are terrible..They dont clean rooms but charge for resort fees...we had to call them to ask to clean our bathtub and bring clean towels..i think their job is to keep eye on that...another thing pissed me of..when we were sitting on pool area with our chairs and my son didnt feel well ..(medical condition) so i moved the chair into the shade and one of the girls who work there ..came to him and kick him out because he was sitting next to the reserved chairs(empty no was was there) seriously???? Being kicked by sitting in shade..and doing nothing...i asked for pool manager and he did let my son stay.... Later on i went to speak with general manager her name is Amanda...she was very helpful and apologize for that...and as a apology we got full day of beach bed..which was nice at least my kids enjoy their time and they knew nobody will treat them bad like the girl on pool....another thing pissed us of ...they where closing pools every other day for some banquets...so we were just had to move somewhere else....that wasn't nice of them !!!Amanda gave us a resort fees back for one day ...but so what if we couldn't enjoy our vacation..they should tell us about those events before we check in.!!!!!!
The worst thing is we left our Mercedes S550 in valet parking and guess what...car came out scratched...Alex parking manager is a big...As..ole. Didn't do anything..we put claim on it but their insurance reject us.....so mad and how stupid it was that we trust them..please do NOT USE VALET PARKING....THEY DON'T TAKE CARE OF CARS . The best people i met there was JOSEPH AND PEDRO..SO HELPFUL AND AMAZING PEOPLE...WISH THAT HOTEL HAVE MORE PEOPLE LIKE THEM !!!!!!!! OVERLL I DONT THINK WE WILL GO THERE AGAIN...

We stayed from May 22-27. When we got here we were told that our room was not ready and was told they would send us a text when our room was ready. After having an early start of the morning at 4:00am. Not happy but went and sat and had a drink. After 4:30pm we were not called yet after my husband went over to the front desk to stand in line again. We got to the desk and another person realized that our room that was reserved in Jan was not a balcony room. A member of management came over to see what was going on the woman pointed at the screen. He put in something and upgraded us to an ocean view. That would be good except for the fact that we couldn't get out on the balcony!! When complaining to the same member of management about not being able to get out on the balcony he thought that giving us a ocean view would make us happy!!! Sorry I PAID for the room with a balcony!!! I had to take our pictures through the door that went out to our balcony!! Very disappointed to their handling of this matter. Sorry we will not be back!!

Terrible room. I requested a high floor, preferably with a view. I got neither. They told me it had a 'partially blocked' view. It was totally blocked view. Only thing you can see from the room is the hotel next door. It isn't a high floor either. And the room is very small. Hardly any room on the vanity at all. And the ironing board won't even fit in the closet!
Oh my! This place is amazing! I want to go back there with my kid even I am living in Boca. I had a great time with my friends there. Be prepared because there you have to expend $30 only for a overnight parking... but it worth...
Very nice rooms, staff is friendly and the hotel has a very good atmosphere. It is very nice and comfortable. The price was cheap, now it kind of went up. Wish to stay again. The food in the pool area is very good. The pool is fun and the kids loved it. Access to ocean and it is very close to stores. The gym was very nice and convenient. The lobby is impeccable. Love that it was not a junky hotel, it was classy. Thank you for the amazing stay. Hope to stay again.

Super comfortable beds and nice size rooms with wonderful views out into the ocean. The staff are super friendly and helpful. The food options at the hotel are very expensive and regardless of how many are in your party an 18% tip is automatically included (even for a single glass of soda).

We went to Splash Bar and Grill for dinner. It was a great view of the ocean and the phone actually wasn't half bad. I was expecting typical bar food (which it was), but it was surprisingly delicious and filling.
Stayed here with my wife and kids before a cruise. Ocean view room was great. Staff were very friendly from the valet team out front the the front desk and the house staff.Everything about the property was top notch.
What is wrong with the bathroom seats at this hotel??? These are the cheapest toilet seats I have ever seen. The plastic moves around so your skin is touching the actual toilet: ( the rain shower head leaks when you are trying to use the shower hose :((( and the fact that there is no sound proof bathroom is the most annoying: (
Truly remarkable place to stay and visit. The staff are wonderful. It's a very upscale experience that you will forever remember.
