Recently moved to the area. I honestly thought it was impossible to receive better care than I had been receiving. I was wrong. Every single person I have come into contact with at the DHC is courteous and professional. Thank you for the great service and treatment.

Scheduling can take a long time to get in here. After calling in the start of August, staff directed my family member to get a referral from her PCP. When she could get her PCP appointment and referral, it ended up taking 2 weeks to schedule the appointment for mid-late September. When we called in we learned 50 other people had been referred in that day too. So this is a busy location and can take a while to get your appointment date. That is why they get 4 stars. Once we had our appt though, we were really pleased with the quality of the facility, the friendliness and efficiency of staff, and Dr. Jankowski taking time to explain the results as your loved one is waking up. She didn't beat around the bush and told us her concerns directly. My only other critique would be that the first time family meets the doc is in recovery for your family, so I didnt have the opportunity to ask questions before. Overall, very pleased with our experience here. Thank you to the staff for providing excellent care for my family member.

What can I say, when ya gotta go ya gotta go. I have been to a few GIs in the valley and this place has been the best. Let's be real, nobody is coming here for a good time, but the DHC always treats me respectfully, courteously, and professionally. If ya gotta go, go the he DHC.

I wasn't a happy camper. Something came up with the doctor and I was kept waiting for an hour and a half. No one said anything to me about my appointment being delayed. Common courtesy would have gone along way. I was left to simply wait until I asked about the delay.

I couldn't believe how easy my colonoscopy was. I once had "sedation" involving a nearby part of the anatomy, and it did nothing for me. Ditto with eye surgery. One tiny Valium pill does nothing. Two do nothing. Here you get IV sedation that's akin to general anesthesia from the patient's perspective (there's probably a medical distinction involving breathing tubes or something). You will be asleep. Asleep, asleep, asleep. If all Americans knew this, nobody would die of colon cancer. I have no idea what all the doctor crammed into me while I was sleeping, but when I woke up it was over, I felt fine, and the doc said I didn't have to come back for 10 years. They were thorough in investigating one small polyp they found (turned out to be nothing). I definitely recommend this place.

Don t waste your time with these guys. It will take you hours to get through just to make an appointment. Unprofessional and their go-to solution is high-cost procedures. The doctors only really want to help if they can get your money.

Wonderful friendly staff from the moment I walked in. Everyone was very thorough and explained everything before needing to ask. The most spectacular thing is the nurse randi brought back with her a warm blanket after I had changed into the gown. That was the best thing ever and so needed. I don't even care of it is standard practice...it was the best practice.

The staff at this clinic is so incredibly kind. They are patient and have the desire to give the best care possible. My mom has had gastrointestinal issues for years and they have been so helpful throughout her process. This is by far the best digestive health clinic that my mom has been to. Such great people and such great care.

Digestive Health Clinic was amazing from the kind staff and helpful billing people to the nurses and doctor. Dr. Goulet had to tell me hard news and was so kind and gentle about it. Out of all the hospitals and doctors offices I have had to see this is the ONLY one who worked with me on reasonable payments. Thank you Digestive Health for being so caring...the last thing a cancer patient needs is someone hounding them about bills. You have been great!

I am not sure where all the negative reviews are coming from. My colonoscopy was scheduled very quickly only a week and half out and that was likely because I requested a female doctor. It was difficult to get through to anyone on the phone, however my voicemails were returned promptly on the same day, not a big deal, just have a little patience with them. The nurses I spoke to were very friendly and mostly helpful. On the day of my appointment I was taken back promptly and the procedure itself was very fast! This was my first go around with getting a colonoscopy, I was actually terrified and had experienced extreme anxiety the entire week before my procedure. I was very nervous about getting sedated for my colonoscopy, I had spoken to several nurses/staff at the Digestive Health Clinic that told me over and over that I would be getting sedated for the procedure using Propofol. On the day of my appointment, still being nervous about sedation, I asked the nurse checking me in if I had to have sedation. He told me that NO IT IS NOT REQUIRED, its a personal preference! I only wish that one of the first nurses would have told me this to eliminate a week full of terrible anxiety. Dr. Shea and her nurses Emily and Jessica were amazing helping me get through my first colonoscopy without any sedation or pain meds! It was obviously very uncomfortable in some spots/going around corners however I survived through the pain. I would recommend anyone who is nervous about sedation to at least try the procedure without it. You won't regret it and the staff are so comforting and helpful in getting you through it! Thank you!

I am understanding now why there are so many one star reviews for service at this institution. The staff and doctors are non-compassionate, disorganized, unaccountable, and very, very rude. I'm not sure how these guys continue to operate. I think it's because people don't have a lot of options due to our broken down medical industry and a shortage of physicians who actually care about getting to the bottom of the problem instead of sorry, don't know what to tell you and here's the bill. If you were planning on seeing a physician here for the first time, you may want to re-consider.

I have been treated at Digestive Health since 2001 by one of the doctors and also by one of the nurse practitioners in 2015. I have always received excellent care. Everyone knows what they are doing from the medical staff through the reception desk staff. I was always treated with respect and courtesy. While going through a long treatment, I was able to check in with my nurse practitioner as often as I needed and she addressed my problems immediately. I would recommend this clinic to anyone in need of their type of practice. I

Not very happy with this place. The Doctor and pre-nurse procedure ladies were all very nice and courteous but the billing department is wack. First off, I tried and tried and tried for a year and a half to get a colonoscopy as we have family history. At first, they didn t want anything to do with me.... Then, when I got through (FINALLY!!!) I kept getting you need a doctors note or you ll be charged the full price. The insurance won t cover it. So I finally give in, go to urgent care, and get a referral. I show up to the screening, after doing the 3 day prep work and get you need to pay $500 , as soon as I get to the door.... WHAT!? That s the reason I went to the quick care, so my insurance would cover it all..... Billing lady comes out and claims it s preventative vs diagnostic... which makes no sense why I made the trip to urgent care to get the referral.... I then get home, about a month later get ANOTHER $570 bill in the mail AFTER PAYING $500 AT THE DOOR!!!!.... so now I m paying $1,070 for something the insurance would pay for. The insurance told me multiple times - we cover it...FULLY! The office decided they wanted to charge full price... Never coming back to this place as my insurance said if you didn t say anything about having any pre-existing conditions or family history - it would have been paid for completely........ So here I am, getting hammered for an out-of-pocket expense for DOING THE RIGHT THING & TELLING THE TRUTH.... Never, EVER will I be back here again. The medical industry is in crisis mode and this office showed that with this visit.....

My primary physician referred me to a practice for a routine screening procedure. After some online research and several conversations with them, I decided to find another practice, which lead me to the Digestive Health Clinic. From start to finish, Christopher J. The phone staff was rude every single time I called and I had to call multiple times to figure out my insurance with them they kept saying I need a primary care provider when my Medicaid was saying I did not it took me getting upset with the lady for her to finally see that I did not need a primary care provider and then she called me back to let me know that my insurance probably won't cover the visit anyways after I went through all of that . So I go in for my appointment and I get charged $300 to be told that it doesn't my insurance doesn't cover it even tho it was pregnancy related That's why I was in there!!!! The whole experience was terrible . I will NEVER go back or refer anyone here!!! And the Front desk staff had attitude right when I walked in.

EVERY encounter I had with the staff at Digestive Health Clinic, I was treated unprofessionally and every single person was very rude!! One time I d call and I had my referral and everything in place to see my Dr. The next time I d call I couldn t see him because they didn t have the referral or anything they needed so I couldn t make an appointment within a two week period!! I had to have Blue Cross call them TWICE to get them onboard!! Ridiculous!! Besides that, every time I ve called I ve either dealt with someone totally incompetent or nasty to me. THEN to make things even worse, I get a letter saying I should find another Dr because they didn t like how I interacted with the staff!!! Yes, I admit my frustration did come out after weeks of dealing with this all the while being out of a medication for two months I have to take and could not get a refill until I saw them. They handled this horribly and treated me just abhorrent and then to top things off send me a letter saying I cannot come back leaving me in a very dangerous health position!! I would NEVER EVER see Dr Mark Mallory or anyone in this clinic!!! I will be seeking legal representation!!

They are definitely profit driven with little compassion. UN-Insured or Under-insured beware, 1800+ is the starting cost to enter this place.

I asked Dr Mallory to refer me to a new Gastro doctor in the state where I moved early 2018. He knew I had serious problems. This new doctor said maybe he could see me sooner if my doc called a consultation in instead of just mailing it...I received by mail that appointment for *August 9, 2018.* I just had surgery because my stomach was in my chest- 2/5/18. ICU 2 days and home tomorrow 2/13 by a different doc. Thanks for nothing Dr Mallory. Please learn more about digestive diseases..That barium swallow showed you something, right? The Mayo clinic told you my distal esophagus was red. Two years ago! You told me it was *eroded.* now I know what that meant.

HORRIBLE! My doctor lied about me in the initial consultation paperwork. I only know this because I requested it. They lie about your blood results, gave me medications that have black boxed warnings against a disease I have. Which made me super sick and I had to go to the ER. I paid to do a procedure that was not done properly that I will have to get redone in order to get the correct results. They only care about money here, not the patient or doing things accurately or professionally. The more procedures, the more money they line their pockets with. They rush trough patients which is ironic because it takes so long to get an appointment. They changes my procedure date 4 times and scheduled the follow up for 3 months out! The clinic manager is passive and of course denies any wrong doing by the doctor saying all the doctors in the clinic treat the same way. Just stay away, save yourself time, frustration, incorrect diagnosis's and money go to another clinic that actually stands behind the Hippocratic Oath they take when becoming a doctor to do no harm.

Wonderful people who, obviously, really care about their client's health and well being. I've never been a client, but I have done work on their door hardware. I've been privy to many confidential discussions and can tell that they are very thorough in everything they do. As one who dealt with ulcerative colitis from the age of 5, I wish they'd been here in the '60s and '70s to help me. As it was, I've ended up wearing an ileostomy surgical appliance for the last 40 years. If I'd had their care, expertise and diagnostics back then, there's a very high probability that I'd be pooping from the rear and not the belly today!

As mentioned from another poster, the whole staff is very helpful. Probably no one wants to be at the clinic getting a procedure done, but they do everything they can to make you feel comfortable and help you through the procedure. I personally had mine done without sedation and there's little chance I would have gone through with it without the caring check- in nurse (whose name I can't remember), Dr. (Jankowski), and her nurse (Kailey?). There were a few hiccups with getting my prep prescription and the i.v., but overall they did a great job and kept me safe!

The day of my colonoscopy, staff & dr. were very helpful to relieve my anxiety. The procedure went well (i.e. anesthetics worked well, I wasn't aware during the procedure). However, follow up was practically non-existent. I had been having major GI problems for 5 wks. & docs didn't know why. After the colonoscopy, a biopsy revealed a diagnosis, & a medication was going to be started. I asked for an appt. with the dr. to discuss the diagnosis (which I knew nothing about) & prognosis, treatment, etc. I had never heard of the medication either. I was told by the nurse over the phone that I didn't need an appt. I asked what dietary things I should be doing to help me get better, she said there wasn't any special thing to change in my regular diet. The meds they wanted me on were denied by my provider due to expense $2600 per mo if I were to purchase on my own. There was a list of alternative meds my ins. would cover, including a generic of the original one, but nurse did not consult me, just started me on a different one. I saw my GP and she said that the generic one was much better for what I was being treated for, and she switched me to that. I never got a call back from DHC to ask "how are you feeling, are your sx. abating, how are the meds working, any questions?" I've had to google search to understand the diagnosis and the treatment. I've had sx. relapse, which causes me to miss work, & cancel commitments. My GP says my situation is beyond her area of expertise, which is why she sent me to a "specialist" to start with. If you want follow up & help with understanding your diagnosis, & treatment, this is not the place.

I am licensed healthcare worker. And this is by far the most INCOMPETENT office I've ever seen. They sat on my referral for three weeks without ever calling to schedule me, I had to call them. I waited on the phone for a half an hour just for them to cut me off and I had to call and wait again for 15 more minutes. The provider was unknowledgeable about my condition. She was going to dismiss me without any follow up and send me home until I brought my lab work to her attention. In which she decided to have me do more of the same labs while forgetting to add some key labs that are related, so they called me back to do more all while never calling me back with any of the results. I have to keep calling them. They never get back in a timely manner. Not once have either contacted me when saying they will. Their gross negligence is terrible and will be taking my complaints to the medical state board since I'm not getting proper treatment for my condition.

I had an upper endoscopy. Everything went perfectly smoothly until I woke up and found that my front crown had been broken off by the nurse. She stated that she knocked it out with the suction. (My dentists have said that she had to hit it hard to have broken it off at the posts. And it was very sore for two days afterwards) All I got was a "I'm sorry, here's your tooth". Now I will be spending $4,000 and a year without a front tooth to get an implant. Read your informed consent. If they knock your tooth out, they won't pay for it. I wish I had known that this is a fairly common occurrence. Oh and I had just finished Invisalign treatment as well! So, Dr. Mallory tells me the possible complications and the only thing he mentions is the 1% chance they puncture my stomach. No mention of the possible 44% chance they knock my teeth out. Lovely. Be careful.

Receptionist don't know what the hell their doing when helping patients. I had a upper and lower endoscopy done. I was given special instructions to call a phone number anytime, even after hours. I was suppose to call them if I was having fever/chill, sharp pains, bleeding, etc. Anything that could have been procedure related. I sit on hold the first time I called for 15 min before getting sent to a random nurse's voicemail. Called back again to talk directly to the Dr. and got the same results. So here I am sick as hell and in pain, probably from something they did wrong and I know I won't get a phone call back. So screw you Disgestive Health and your suggestive priorities and lack of communication skills which require nothing more than a 8th grade education...

I had a routine colonoscopy in which a very large polyp was removed and the doctor did not use clips to close the wound even though I told him I bleed easily. A week later I started bleeding and lost 4 pints of blood. It was evening and the on call nurse said "it couldn't be from the colonoscopy just call your doctor in the morning." It WAS from the colonoscopy. I called them as soon as the office opened but they didn't have time to see me until 1:00pm that day and told me to check into the hospital at that time. The doc didn't show up until 3:30 to fix the damage they did. Now I have a $4.000 bill from St Als for the treatment. I met with the doctor and he waived the almost $2,000 fee from his clinic but refused to cover the hospital bill. Now I am very anemic and it will be so for a couple of months. I would not go to this clinic and as a case manager in town will never send another client to it.

I have never been treated so poorly by an office or people in the health care profession!!! I called on Monday and left a message with Dr Shea's nurse. She called back and got all the details of a serious problem I was having, and said she'd speak to Dr Shea and call me back. By THURSDAY my symptoms had gotten worse, and I still hadn't been called back. Once again I called and left a message. They called back and said the Dr wanted me to go to the lab and do a stool panel test. I went right over and picked it up, and returned it to the lab within an hour. Today, Friday at about 1:00, I signed on to my St Al's patient portal and 2 of the results were back and positive. As I suspected I had C Diff, which can be highly contagious!!! So I called and left a message with Dr Shea's nurse. After 2 hours I called and left a 2nd message as it is Friday and I needed to know what to do before the weekend. A nurse called back, and from the start of our conversation, she was SO RUDE, condescending, and confrontational, I was basically in shock by her bad treatment!!!

I dont know how they keep patients if they are allowed to treat people so poorly, not only verbally, but by forcing someone to hound them to even get a response!!! I was potentially spreading a contagious disease for 4 days more then necessary, due to the lack of them caring!!! I believe had I not called back several times, I wouldn't have gotten a response at all!!!

This office is getting a lot of hate from some reviewers and love from others. I agree with many. The Digestive Clinic really is a money mill with heavy workloads and pricey procedures, but when you find a place that is quiet and offers cheap colonoscopies you might want to pass.
Staff is from not friendly to quite friendly. This is Idaho, not California, after-all, so don't expect everyone to be nice. And forget calling here, reviewers aren't lying about poor phone practices. They won't call you back promptly, I've been blown off twice, but last time, no problem. The scheduler is very nice and you can stop in to schedule.
Gibson brothers are technically proficient, but not people people. I think they work too hard and the doctors there are focused on productivity. Not rude, however.
I did have a bad experience. I'm not claiming anything, but I think the nurse may have done a bad bad thing with my meds. That was many years ago and that nurse may not be there now. Been back 2-3 times with great results.
The reviewer who was miffed because a driver was required has no idea how stupid that made him/her sound. After my procedures I couldn't drive a motorized wheelchair down the hall, let alone drive my car home and remember the doctors summation. Not even close. I'd have trouble finding my car.
Not a perfect office.
This office only deserves 3 stars, overall because of disorganization, but I'll give a star back because the difficulty level for this fast-paced office is quite high. I'm returning there without concern.

Pleasant staff. My Dr was Dr Gibson.

Pleasant staff. My Dr was Dr Gibson.
I didn't get much time with the doctor, and felt I received the usual generic one sized fits all response to my question. They were shuffling patients into that clinic at a very high rate it seemed.
It can be disheartening to have real concerns and questions and not feel that they are genuinely addressed nor really taken seriously. It would be nice if this doctor would forgo perhaps one less patient a day, and in turn use that time to follow up with patients like myself so there is legitimate care offered to what I want addressed.
I did follow up and call clinic back though, and was encouraged to come see what I assume is a nurse practitioner at clinic. But considering Dr Gibson was my doctor I think it would be more fitting to be seen by him.

Dr Ashley Evens was warm and exceptional. She took time to answer my questions, I felt comfortable and relaxed. Because of care like this from your entire staff, I always schedule my appointments as soon as I receive your notification. Because of your quality care, I have been cancer free for 40+ years. Thank you.
