The Darvin Furniture store in Orland is big beautiful store and our first time shopping there. The furniture was very nice and well made not something that was just unloaded from a boat from another country. As a matter of fact the sofa we purchased was made in the USA, and one of the major reasons why we chose it. The price was another winner, and a very helpful salesman Steve Gulias knowledge and manner sealed the purchase. I will make Darvin Furniture my go to store in the future.

I wanted to add an update as my customer experience has certainly changed since my last post. In all I spent roughly $3,600 and purchased a reclining love seat, a powered recliner, and powered three person couch. The delivery took 7 weeks which was the max. Although it took that long when I got home I was still excited to try out the recliner. The first time sitting in the recliner it would not recline correctly and something was wrong. I called and a technician was sent out saying the a part on the arm was bent causing the issue. It will take 2-3 more weeks for the part to come in. So now after all that waiting I still need to wait for a recliner that costs me $1,200 and was delivered in a non working condition. Very unhappy with the situation that I was delivered a recliner not working and now waiting for replacement parts. Needless to say I don't see you getting my business in the future Darvins.

Happy with the selection at Darvin. We recently purchased a bed set from the clearance center and was a good experience. The sales people were easy to track down and helpful. There is no longer free delivery so be prepared to pay $99 should you not be able to pick up from the warehouse.

We returned to Darvin for our recent purchase because of the first experience we had with our salesman, PHILIP AURELIO.
Philip is absolutely the best! He is professional, pleasant and very knowledgeable. He is willing to work with you to make sure you have
all the options and information available to make an informed and successful purchase. He is honest, fair and easily accessible if questions arise at any time during the process. We will definitely be returning to work with him again.

I had ordered my couch in the end of June which should have been delivered in Sept only to find out that because of covid and because I had a special order, it was delayed to the end of November. I have company coming from out of town the beginning of November and now had no furniture, I went to the store and my salesman Rebecca and the manager Mike completely helped me to get another couch(which I actually like more) and would receive the end of September. They were polite, courteous and very helpful. What could have been bad turned out to be a great experience.

Never in my life have I experienced such rude and disrespectful employees, I bought a couch and the delivery men were unacceptably unprofessional. I called the manager to put in a complaint on them and she was extremely dry and rude. They were lazy and seemed like they didn't want to work. Horrible service absolutely do NOT recommend this place, I'd rather sit on a box then on a couch by this company.

Absolute worst customer service I ve ever had. Purchased a table over 6 months ago that was suppose to be here in 4-6 weeks. They never called to tell me it was delayed. Every time I called it would get delayed two weeks. That was if they bothered to call me back or return my voicemails. I ve been waiting over two weeks for a refund when I finally gave up on ever getting my table. The absolute worst customer service. Such a headache. Not worth it!! Don t waste your time or your money!

We stopped in to look at a dining room set we saw in an ad. We quickly found it in the store and checked it out a bit when a salesman showed up, Josh Hughes. Absolutely a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him to anyone. When I questioned how the leaf and table mechanics worked, he gladly removed the table decor and took the leaf out to show us. He gave us space while we did a lap around the store and caught back up with us when we found a sectional that would be great as well... happily swapped in the extra firm cushion for us to try and showed us how the pieces connected. We had to sleep on the dining room table set, but met up with Josh the following weekend and placed our order. We then revisited the sectional... turned out the pieces and sizes wouldn t work for our room, and decided to table that plan.... Two weekends later, back to Josh we went... after finding out that Darvin carries Smith Brothers. Josh helped figure out the sizes and pieces that would work for our room, swapping in the extra firm cushion for us and even called over a designer to help select fabrics. Ultimately, it took us 3 weeks to decide on fabric (have you seen how many Smith Brothers offers?!) but Josh was patient during our decision and happily answered any questions we had along the way. Josh is an asset to the Darvin sales team and they are lucky to have him on board. We will definitely be back for future furniture projects and look forward to working with Josh.

I purchased a big mans recliner about a year and a half ago. I paid a thousand dollars for it. Now I only use the chair 5 months a year. The cushions in the chair shifted and did not hold up. I cannot sit in the chair for its uncomfortable and it hurts my back. I wasted my money purchasing the extended warranty because it doesn't cover cushions unless you burn a hole in it. The inspector admitted the cushions were bad.the warranty company rejected my claim. Called darvin and they won't stand behind it. I have my whole house furnished by darvin. I will no longer be a customer there. My less than 18 month old 1000.00 dollar recliner is going to the trash. Heard from Darvin and and said they would come and repair my recliner. Thank you Darvin.

I won a bed frame from Darvin for their 99th Year Anniversary. The process for collecting the items was simple. When I went to the distribution center to retrieve it there was uncertainty as to whether or not the item was there. I did contact the Orland location on Tuesday and they said that it was in fact at the distribution center and was ready for pick up. When I went in Thursday to retrieve it I waited for about 10-15 while they confirmed that it was in fact there. All associates that I dealt with were very kind and professional.

I was called the week my furniture was supposed to be delivered and told it would be another 2 months before I got my delivery. When I ordered they assured me I would have this furniture before the holidays. Now I won't be getting it until after the 1st of the year. They did offer to credit me some money back which turned out to be only $139. The delivery charge. Then offered loaner furniture but that takes the place of the $139. I told them ok get me the loaner furniture. Well now it has been two days of no answers on this either. I've been forced to leave messages 3x to get a call back. The call back has never happened. They seem to compound every error or problem by creating another. I guess I just have to keep calling.

Our salesman, Phil was very polite and engaging during our 2 visits to Darvin Furniture. We had several rooms to shop for and it was time consuming, but Phil did not apply any pressure at any time during our visits. He was very knowledgeable about the store's inventory and was able to access additional information quickly off the computers at the store.

Our only complaint about Darvin is the number of salespeople who continually seem to follow you around even though they know you have a salesman you're working with. I know they depend on commission but all too often (we've been going to Darvin for over 30 years) the stalking and constant "can I help you?" goes beyond normal courtesy.

Bought an Aireloom king mattress with adjustable base 3 years ago. From the first month, the mattress began to sag. The inspection determined it was within manufacturer specs. Here we are, three years later and the sagging is worse however 1/4 shy of the required sagging that Aireloom requires before they make good on the ten year warranty. Aireloom is a terrible brand and the reviews on their own website confirm this. I am very disappointed that Darwin won t step in and make this right for us. This was an expensive purchase that is terrible and had caused back issues for both myself and my husband. Think twice.

Had a second horrible experience one night stand that was delivered today 10/20/20 had broken legs delivery people should if noticed and never informed me , when I tried putting my phone to charge on the night stand and moved the dresser 1inch literally it fell right to the floor, this is the second time I receive furniture that breaks, first purchase the bed broke with my toddler and daughter on it, the bes made horrible debts to my brand new wood floors, can't describe how upset this situation was this is unacceptable, the first time I would think maybe it can happen but this second time with the dresser was even scary my kids could of broken a bone or something with this heavy piece of furniture. For the first experience darvins had us go pick up a bunky board for them to solve the issue, but that bunky board,was made of some cheap material it made so much noise. Just learning the hard way again not to purchase any more furniture. The delivery people also made some small dents on our wall. I just can't believe it happened again!

I went in the store and was able to order furniture very quickly! Good thing!! However, when I left C and wanted to make changes to my order is when my experience went to hell! I called on Wednesday and got no answer. I left my name and number on an answering service and never received a call back. The next day I called over 5 times and received the run around from just about everyone including a manager. When you spend so much of your money, you want to be happy! Yet, there customer service couldn t so anything for me to help me fix my order. Everybody tried to send me to someone else (when I finally did get an answer) which lead me to another dead end! This situation is really frustrating and I don t know if I can invest any more money at this store! I m even tempted to just cancel the order and get my money back and try a different store! All because.... CUSTOMER SERVICE SUCKED.... for me!!

Do NOT buy from here! TERRIBLE customer service. If I could give this a negative rating I would! We have been waiting for our couch for 13 weeks now!!! At first we were told 4-6 weeks for our delivery date due to Covid which we understood keep in mind this is early August. Then once purchasing the couch we were told end of September which we were annoyed about but, took it for what it was. Come September 28th I called because I still had no idea when my couch was going to be delivered, only to find out that they had pushed back our delivery date to the end of October! No one had the decency to call, email, or text either of us to let us know!! They said it was due to the manufacturer not having the item ready? I understand things happen, but come on 16 weeks waiting for a couch?! We should ve gone somewhere else. Will never buy anything from here again!

90% of the furniture in our home has been purchased at Darvin over the years. Our sales consultant, Marty Garber, is amazing. We always make sure he is working when it is time to make the next purchase. We walk in, ask for Marty, immediately, so we don t waste anyone else s time. Marty is honest, hard working, and knows what we like!

Today, we went in for a cheap desk, but after exploring better options, we purchased a desk that will last us a lifetime, along with 2 unexpected new recliners to update our front room. Our original front room recliners were one of our original purchases from Darvin over 15 years ago and were clearance items that lasted us this long! They still have life in them, we are just sick of them!

After dealing with the manager on the delivery of our couch, we did get it a week after promised. I could live with that. However, I have had the couch for 1 1/2 months and it is in a room that is slightly used. I purchased the material that was on the display and was told that the material holds up well and I would have not worries. Well, below I have posted pictures of the seat cushions below which are shedding and pilling. Called Darvin and was told that this is normal and I can shave my couch and it how the material wears. I really do not have time to shave my couch on a regular basis nor do I have the time or desire to do this after paying the amount of money that I did. If this is how the material wears, it should look like this in the showroom (which it does not) and we should have been made aware of it at the time of purchase especially when I asked several times how the material holds up. So the in home service agent advised that I purchase a machine to shave the pilling off. Try doing it three times and maybe it will stop. That was their solution. Can you imagine what this couch will look like after a year if this is what is happening after 1 month? This is unacceptable and am waiting for my call back from a in home service representative and a manager. If I was not persistent they would have blew me off as if I haven't purchased any other furniture in my whole 58 years. Shame on Darvin for making their problem my problem. I will not accept this and will take this as far as I have to until Darvin does the right thing.

As a long time Darvin customer writing this review is difficult. I placed an order September 28, 2020 for a couch, a coffee table, end table and sofa table. I was informed when I placed the order it would be in the middle of October. I called the middle of October and spoke with a representative from the Order department whom stated they don t have time to call customers from their sheets because people who call in are more important. I then spoke with a manager who said my furniture would be in the middle of November. I cancelled the sofa table. I then called the middle of November and found out it would be in roughly middle of December. Well wouldn t you know I called in on Sunday and it s now the end of December -first of January! NOT ONE time has anyone called me about my order until TODAY! This sales rep who is making commission off of my order calls and says This is Darvin your furniture is in when do you want it delivered I had to ask for his name. He stated he s been out because of covid for 2 weeks! I said well my couch isn t in is it and he said no it s stating January 10 is when the order will be in! No one again called me. I have been waiting on a call from Kevin or Steve who were supposed to call me regarding the order and issues I ve had since October.

If Darvin had this type of service prior they wouldn t still be in business! Covid has changed lots of things but when your commission based you try to figure out how to make your customers happy!! Get it together!

I really struggled with this sales team. Tried to purchase a sofa online, they charged my card only to send me an email asking for a copy of my ID and my credit card. I though this was odd because They had already charged my card in full, but I obliged. Then, after I sent them copies, and spoke over the telephone to two different employees, they canceled my order anyway! Weeks had gone by at this point. I really wanted to buy from a local business, but this is just too much of a hassle!

Me & my girlfriend brought a recliner back in September. I had to move. Tried to for a week. The wo.an that answered the phone was very rude. The guy I spoke with was nice. It a manger 2 weeks to call and the will to honor there warranty. The sales rep did not tell us if you move you boid the warranty. I have a 500 dollars piece of garbage now. I will never shop there again and I am telling everyone I know not as well.

I have mixed feelings on Darvin but their prices are good.

I bought a mattress in July 2018. I ordered a Firm and I bought all of the mattress protectors to go with it. After a month of not real good sleep I looked at the receipt and they wrote up an Extra Firm, it was like sleeping on the floor. So we ordered a My Pillow mattress cover which at least made it bearable.
In October I had a hip replacement and after that I could not sleep on that mattress.
So yesterday we went back and spent another $2000. We told the sales guy the story and he tried several times to sell us another mattress protector but told us with that, if we were not happy we could exchange the mattress up to 30 or 60 days, with a 20% charge.
Had the first sales person told us that in July, I wouldn't have had to spend $700 for a My Pillow cover or $2000 for a new mattress.
The ONLY reason we use Darvin is price, their warranties are really shady.
DO NOT BUY the warranty, especially on the leather chairs, it's not worth the paperwork it's written on.

We purchased a coffee table, end table and 3 nesting tables 18 months ago. We have recently noticed the finish in the corners are all peeling and separating. One of the tables have crack lines in the corner and there's a white line underneath one of the nesting tables. I went to Darvin and they gave me the warranty email. They in turned sent me to their customer care. I sent detailed photos of all the issues. They finally called me back and said that there was nothing they could do. They considered it "Wear and Tear". Seriously, on 18 month old tables? I even tracked down the mfg. of the tables to at least get touch up paint, which is what I would of settled on. I call this poor workmanship on the mfg. end. To be told they considered it wear and tear is an insult. It's too bad Darvin won't take responsibility for the manufactures who's products they sell. We spent $8000 within a 6 month period. I'm afraid to see what they will look like in another year or two. Very dissapointed. I've been in customer service all my life and I've always been told to make the moment right for my customers.

Wonderful furniture store and shopping experience. A very large selection to choose from. There is something for everyone here at very reasonable prices. Our salespeople were excellent. We always deal with Steve G and Brandon Lipkowski. They are very knowledgeable. Customer service and product satisfaction is their number priority. They want to make sure that you are happy and love your purchase. We will definitely ask for them again on any future Darvin visits.

He was sooo patient and it took two visits and several trips around the store up and down stairs. He helped us find everything we needed . Calvin is very professional and exhibits great customer service skills. He was very knowledgeable and quite informative. It was great working with him. My daughter and I were truly impressed. We left a bit overwhelmed with the massive inventory and vast array of selections. We later decided on our merchandise and were able to complete our purchase via phone with Calvin. We highly recommend Mr.Calvin Johnson.
