Sno-Haus Ski Shop Review

Really high quality Ski/snow shop with great equipment and stellar customer service. They provide affordable rentals as well! Parking is available but it's behind the store across a small street. The signage is very clear.

Prices are a bit higher than what you find online, but the expertise and selection is unbeatable. We've been going to Sno Haus for over 20 years!

Sno-Haus is EXCELLENT. I've bought several items here over the years, but have to say Jake their boot fitter really came through for me this year. I highly recommend working with him to get you into a pair of new boots. We spent a lot of time trying on different boots, then on three different occasions he shaped the boot we chose to fit my weird ankle. If I had bought it elsewhere online, I would be stuck with a pair of boots that just didn't fit right. Jake and Sno-Haus, excellent all around.

Expensive but knowledgeable employees. If you come early in the season and I mean early you might get some good deals. As always shop around.

I don t mind paying for this $30 but honesty is the most important thing in business and I will never go back to this place again.

I had my ski boots for 7/8 years and the heel area always bothers me. I only ski once or twice yearly. Last time when I was there to buy ski poles a sale rep said I can have my boots expanded for $20 to $30 and will take a day.

I went there on a Sunday evening 50 mins before they close. I was waiting for the same sale person from last time but he still has customers. Another sale rep said he can help me. I explained where exactly the heel part on my ski boots were bothering me. He had me sit down, took the sole out and got me another arch sole. I feel the same and the thickness was the same as the one I had. Even another sale manager said my old shoe sole is not bad.

Later 15 mins before close. They asked me do I want the $50 arch sole? I told them I just want both of my boots adjusted and needed it by tomorrow so I can go the Vermont on Tuesday with my family. They said they can only do one boot and do the other on other day. I can not have just one side looking larger then my other one. They said they have to charge $30 for consultation. I wonder why I have to pay $30 to letting them know where the place need to be adjusted; consultation fee .
If they let me know they can only do one boot I can just bring back next time instead this. I just want to get my boots adjusted. I was told I have to pay $40 per boot next time for $80 total . Normal Ski boot shell expansion price is about $30 to $50 for both boots.
I don t mind paying for this $30 but honesty is the most important thing in business and I will never go back to this place again.

The staff at this location is great. The person who helped me knew what she was talking about and when she didn't she got someone else to help me who did. Great experience overall.

My family visited the Hempstead location for a seasonal rental of skis and boots. With young, growing kids it doesn t make sense to spend a thousand bucks on gear when they are still growing. Renting for the season from a local shop allows you to skip the cattle call rental lines at the mountains. You re also more likely to get gear that fits properly.
Jason was patient and skilled at fitting my family with gear. A pleasant experience. Rentals included discount offers at local ski centers. I d suggest visiting the shop during off peak hours so you re not waiting. Highly recommended.

horrible service...the salesperson stated "I have to answer the phone"...never came back...watched me leave and never said a word. Wow just wow...I guess I wasn't the right shade. Overt disregard for the customer.

I have only positive things to say about this shop, when it comes to purchasing equipment or apparel. The rental service, however, is probably not as convenient as renting on the mountain and wouldn't be my first choice.

Only specialized one of its kind on Long Island. Has better selection, quality, and service than sporting goods stores.

The employees are super helpful, and the store has a wide selection of all different types of winter/ski/snowboard gear. They have no problem matching price, so that's also really good. Highly reccomend Sno - Haus!

Excellent service especially from Tony in the snowboard section. Took a lot of time to give me recommendations and explain differences between their selection.

Extremely poor boot fitters.
Not knowledgable about proper fit and boot types. They readily will sell you boots which are totally wrong for your ability and skiing style and that do not fit properly.
Wish I wouldn't have wasted $$$ on boots which I was told would be sufficient for my skiing style when in reality they were beginner boots that did not provide nearly the level of performance I require.
I also know someone else who bought boots at sno haus only to realize a few seasons later that he was in a boot two sizes too big. Can't believe the boot fitter at Sno Haus didn't notice that when they sold those boots.
Better off buying boots from a boot specialist at your favorite ski area. They will be much more skilled in the art of boot fitting.

a bit pricey for me. I'm a Marshalls type of guy for the ski look lol,..but, if you need professional top quality gear, looks like this is your place. I came for a warm hat, need it for a party tonight..

Really helpful staff! I bought my first pair of boots, and was guided through the whole process. I went near closing time, and not realizing that it takes time to prepare rental skis I asked the guy if I could take them that night. He stayed a little late to help me out. I will absolutely come back her for any ski equipment I need in the future.

Very nice and customer oriented shop. Everyone is willing to help and is willing to spare the time to answer your questions. Bought equipment from here for the first time ever. My helper was Tony R and he was phenomenal from start to finish. Super nice and helpful and I can t say enough nice things about him or the shop. You can rest easy knowing you re getting good advice/equipment here.

do not lease any equipment ,you can buy online cheaper than there
