Book an appointment and have all your documents ready. ID photo, copy of HKID, accomodation bookings, application form. Pick up four days later with no problems. Got rejected for a 6 month visa with more than 6 months remaining on my HK working visa with no explanation. Would recommend going through an agency if you want a longer visa.

Really bad experience, staff is not helpful, not clear instructions, asked for re-take photos twice, applied for multiple entry, finally approve only once, wasting time ! Really bad experience, if have other choice, never use again

The interviewer required me to provide a detailed schedule for the event, which is actually not a problem. But in the same time, my fellow student who will attend the same event can get the visa without the schedule

Please put the same standards on everyone, and eliminate this kind of trivial subjective judgement

ADVICE! BRING A PEN!!! service was super quick once I finally filled in the form. they have photocopiers (2 HKD) and photo booth (50 HKD) you can pay by Octopus or ask the staff to help you and give them cash. generally this is a very efficient service and you will get seen faster than any other visa office I've seen. it's quieter in the mornings but if you go on a Monday expect a longer wait. temperature is good and you should be able to get a seat. pay attention to the screens because if you don't respond to your ticket in 30-60 seconds it's game over...

The place is big and there are enough seats to wait. Go there with a lot of patience, it gets full very easily. Waiting around 4 hours to get your turn is normal. They have a photocopy machine that works with octopus card and also computers to print from. This is very good, just sometimes waiting for long time in the queue. Once the visa has been processed, you get the payment turn which is quite quick maximum 10 min. The people at the application service try to help you and get things going as much as they can. I wish the had more stuff to handle the applications.

Best prices...I got my visa for China on a tourist visa in Hong Kong here. Super convenient, they were responsive to all my questions via email and gave me the documentation needed to file my visa.

As long as you have your paperwork in order it is a breeze and they will have it back to you promptly.

Get here early as they operate on a first come first serve basis and you will have to wait. I arrived at 8:45am and they were able to assist me quickly. I was in and out within 1 hour, so the earlier the better.

Pretty easy and straight forward process like most government paperwork.

Read the requirements for the type of visa that you need and bring all the documentation that is listed.

Even without an appointment the process doesn't take that long. It's also nice and comfortable while you wait.

Again, read what is required and bring the documents with you and it should be painless.

Worst organized place. People lining up in the early morning, but once they open the door no employee cares about the waiting line. People who arrived later but by chance standing right next to the door can go in first.
Once inside you need a waiting ticket, but that doesn't really count a lot since people go to windows without being called as well and are served. Too crowded. Someone was throwing up because it was too many people with little space only and no fresh air.

Would strongly recommend everyone to make an appointment/complete application forms/photocopy everything that is needed/have photos taken in prior to coming to this centre. It should then be straightforward. Otherwise you could be lining up for different queues (for photocopy/photo taking/ticket) for hours. The use of the photocopier in the centre can be quite a pain and always a huge line up.

Crowd office in Downtown, it needs be patient and support several waiting hours to achieve the wanted Visa. With today rules the process take at least two days for Urgent Delivery with quite expensive tax rate. Carry with you photo and paper photocopy because into the office, plenty of foreign people, the unique copy machine needs a fee to be paid with a local card, no coins accepted. Same for any tax payment, credit cards refused, only HK$ cash accepted... as logically use in any international contest! Approx good order and waiting list number call during first day interview and other formalities. More complicated the second day Visa recovery when waiting list number has to be claim from a secretary not well identified.

The Application Centre is very organised. You can apply online and avoid the walk-in queue. Once you get there with all the certified requirements and legal documents, you will be served. The customer service reps CSR can hell you out with any issues, and provide you with the necessary steps to proceed if you don't know what to do. You pay for the visa depending on the type, the type of service, and the country you are from. You can receive the visa in 4 days for regular service, for some countries. However, bear in mind that a new policy, as I was told by one of the CSR is that when you do not have a permanent residency in Hong Kong, and you are from a different national, the maximum number of months you can have for multiple visas is 6 months.

This place absolutely sucks. I don't know why the Chinese embassy in Hong Kong chose such an unreliable place to process their visas. The service is absolutely terrible and they do not have a system of organizing people who are waiting for their visa submissions or pick ups. I'd suggest going to another center in another city to get your visa done, especially if you want to work in China. This is also the only visa center, out of the many I have been to in the US, that charges upfront instead of at the time of pick up. Their rules and regulations is also posted nowhere on the wall, and the whole place just seems pretty shady and unreliable.

So, this is a BAD rating for a GUY AT THE COUNTER who collected my documents (unfortunately I did not note which counter it was). He was SO INCREDIBLY RUDE to me, he literally almost yelled at me and interrogated me like I was some kind of a criminal. HE MADE ME FEEL really low, beaten and DISRESPECTED. I followed all the documentation requirements properly, so there was nothing wrong or missing. But he started verbally attacking me about the 2 Turkish transit visa stamps I had in my passport. He repeated the question Why were you in Turkey? like a dozen times in a very aggressive manner. I passed by Istanbul during my travels to Europe from Asia 2 years ago and then when I was traveling to Georgia with friends (each visit was no longer than 3 days. But this answer did not satisfy him for some reason, and instead he made a random conclusion: you have a Turkish boyfriend! Then he asked me to write an explanation note about why is it that I visited Turkey 2 years ago. I mean, the whole communication with him was absolutely bonkers. Very discriminating/bios attitude. Unfathomable.

Other staff members were ok though, some girls were quite nice. The fact that you need an octopus card or can pay only cash 10/ 20/50 for the photos is a bit annoying, as not everyone has an octopus card, especially those who don t live in HongKong.

Also, I had to go for an interview at the Chinese consulate near the visa center. The staff there were quite respectful, although they did ask a lot of different questions about my background and future plans (more questions than I have expected), but that s ok, I was happy that they were polite enough.

Overall, from now on I d rather choose another place/country to apply for a Chinese visa, if such need arises.

Overall, it was a good experience. It is a little more difficult to get a visa for China than for other Asian countries. They do a thorough job of making sure everything is in order before they submit it to the government. I had to correct a few things, but was able to come back the same day without waiting in line. Some tips: make an appointment, or try to avoid Mondays. Complete your 4 page application in advance. Make sure you hair is pulled back with ears visible for the photo. And the process of lining up to use the printers and computers confused me. It was easier to go across the street to the second floor, where there is a Fotomax. You can get copies, printing, and photos there very easily. You can also email Fotomax something to print. At the visa center, you can't print from a USB. I applied on Wednesday and got it the next Monday, for regular service. I have a USA passport and was able to get 10 year multiple entry, 60 day visits (L visa).

Be sure that your photos are exactly as on the sample. Open your ears and remove your hair back. Come in the morning and don't expect that it will take less than 1 hour. Take copies of all your documents. There it will cost you 2 had for 1 doc. Take some clothes in case you are in one tee shirt. It might be cold there. For kids take toys. There is no activities for them.

I ve been waiting here for four hours - awful service, grumpy clerks pressing the buzzers for no reason, and cheesy patriotic music with tourist propaganda videos. So much worse than the previous visa application centre across the road.
Nice views of Victoria Harbour, though.

Good photo taking, printing and computer service for customers.

Extremely slow and packed with people. A lot of people during mid day. We queued for 3hrs to get a number for submitting an application, which is another 3 hours of waiting.

On the day of collecting the visa, their system was down and people were forced to come again later. Even collection requires hours of queuing. Plus they added additional fee when u want to collect ur visa.

Incredibly rude and arrogant staff, the guy at the counter had no patient whatsoever and almost yelled at me whe I asked him some questions to confirm everything he had said.

If you are coming from mainland China better go to Japan or Korea to apply for your visa, it may be even closer depending on where you are in China and for sure the service will be much better (I applied in South Korea and the service was good there).

If you don't have the Oktopus card you can't pay for the pics and photocopies and will have to ask some random person to do it for you.

They also asked for some extra documents that were not stated in the official list of required documents.

I will never apply for any visa there again.

Getting my Chinese multi-entry visa was one of the easiest things I've had to do; everyone was very friendly and spoke amazing English.

FIRST, and MOST IMPORTANTLY, make an appointment. You can even make it 24 hours in advance but it's well worth the 5 minutes you'll spend online because you'll save over an hour in line, I promise.

SECOND, get in the correct lane for your appointment (which is usually on the left) and make sure you have a ticket number.

THIRD, have a copy of your photo page of your passport, any copies of previous Chinese Visa(s), and your detailed vacation/business information (meaning hotel, flight, etc. of your first visit to China -- they won't care about any other future visits.) **IF YOU DON'T HAVE THIS INFO PRINTED, make sure you'll have it accessible by e-mail because they will make you go to the computers and print it out. Also, make sure you have an octopus card because that's the only method to pay for your papers...otherwise you're going to have to ask someone else to use theirs and then pay them back.
Then you'll have to pay for your visa and it'll take about 2-4 days for it to be finished.

On your return visit, you don't really need an appointment because you're pickup papers indicate that you belong to the left lane. Get your ticket and wait to pick up your visa. If you arrive first thing for picking up your visit, expect the pick up to be a little longer because they only start with one representative and then add about two to three more people after 30 minutes -- but still arrive early because you'll save time in the long run.

Waited hours. Line under letter on my slip, eg D, did not move for 45 minutes. Ones paying more come in and they get served first. No mention of needing photocopy of your last China visa. You need Octopus card for copying.

I've a complaint that I've visited China Visa Application Service Center today on 12 February 2019. Which is located in 20/F Capital Centre, 151 Gloucester Rd, Wan Chai.
My complaint is that the women sitting in counter number 14 at the time of 3:30 P.M is very rude. She doesn't respect anyone. She even called a guy bloody foreigner which was really rude plus.
I would like you to order her to be polite and nice or else I will to take other legal actions.

I was satisfied with the service I had for a female patient, since the same seeing my communication difficulties, accompanied me to the final stage, even though the final service is not part of their sector. Unique experience. Thank you Visa Center China / Hong Kong

Address is wrong unless you are Chinese. Stupid rules like they refuse to write in your application for you. For me, that meant I had to find someone to translate a Chinese address into English. Something the girl could have done in under 30 seconds.

They denied me a Chinese Visa. The Visa Officer told me to get an invitation letter from a Mainland Chinese. How do I get an invitation letter to go sightseeing in Shenzhen. That was to be my Christmas break. I only wanted to go there for one day only. Very Disappointed.

Expect longer waiting hours during the rush hour (around noon). But everyone here is really doing its best to help you. The agents are very professional and help you if there are any errors in your application forms. There are printers, PCs, copy machines and photo boxes available (pay with Octopus) if something is missing for your application. But you should bring a pen with you.

I have to say I was pleasantly surprised here. I was warned by my friends not to come here because they're supposed to be really rude and difficult, but I found it to be the opposite.

After being told I couldn't get a visa at China Travel Service because my HK work visa is expiring soon, I came here as a last minute resort. They told me that information is false and that I am definitely eligible for a visa. I only needed a single entry but they approved a 7 year multi-entry visa for me for half the price I was quote at CTS for only 1 entry!!

I did end up waiting for 3 hours total but I didn't make an appointment. They spoke good English and the centre was clean and modern. It's 100% nicer and more efficient than other government offices I've been to in HK (e.g. immigration tower).

They told me the passport photos I brought weren't suitable but there was a passport photo machine just around the corner that took me 2 mins to take extra photos. The staff at the counter waited for me to come back instead of helping the next person.

I'm super happy about the situation and impressed at the efficiency here.

Awful awful service. Waited in line for over 4 hours and when my number was called to go to the counter, the number disappeared and said I missed my turn. Considering I was watching the board like a hawk, I doubt that very much as I had basically ran to the counter. But the number before me was still very much present and the person had not even reached the counter! Then I had to wait in line while another person got served and I had to watch them call themthem l numbers. Didn't get my visa in the end as they said i needed past passports, my mum was having a fit with them and I just lost it after being there for over 5 hours

This place is for foreigners inclusive of those PR living in HK but Do Not hold HK or China passports.
We waited 30mins for one number in queue to be called to submit forms. No staffs at information counter upon arrival. Were asked to queue to get numbers upon walked in, but the queue at the entrance was for people who had completed filing up their registration forms. You can actually just walk in and fill up whatever form you need and then queue at the entrance. Many people were stuck at the entrance not knowing what to do. A chaotic situation.

From the getgo, I saw unhappy folks busting to get outta the place. You will queue with or without an appt.--extensively. Waiting room was full when I arrived on a weekday in the late morn; that hadn't changed when I left 90 minutes later in disgust. Had to endure incessantly loud chiming of queue #s for the duration.

Applic. dox should be immaculate or you'll be shooed off for a 2nd (or 3rd...) dose for willing masochists. Chinglish counter worker gamed me to reshoot passport-spec. pics in the kiosk while he'd process my applic., he claimed. At my return all was wrong, of course. 50 hkd wasted on that chicanery.

Opt out of their spider web by going to a reputable agency that doesn't strategize to flash-fill its waiting area. Case in point: Likely via a profit-sharing scheme, there are manned visa kiosks at HKIA arrivals that will attempt to steer you to CVASC. If your case isn't the bee's knees, you get a slip containing CVASC's addy. Throw it back in their face, son, then all will be well.

People behind the counters are great. I was first in the queue for those without appointments and was done in 10 mins. People in front of the counters are about as helpful as a chocolate teapot. If you need to photocopy anything you will need an OCTOPUS card but check with the people behind the counter first. The receptionist is clueless and the pronuncation of this word is unintelligible by all non-counter staff. In fact, they just expect you to wait until someone with a card rocks up and lets you borrow it, regardless of the window for your appointment. If you need extra photos, you will need $HKD10, 20 or 50 ONLY. If you want to pay for the visa you will need cash ONLY, unless you have a HK bank debit card. No credit cards or electronic payment services are accepted. None of this is mentioned on the website, of course. That would be too helpful.
