I absolutely love this place. It s incredible. We spent our Christmas vacation here this year and I did not want to leave. Everything is so clean and modern. The outdoor pool was warm and the hot tub was great! Even in the Rockies in the middle of winter. The food was so good and the staff kind. We will be having our wedding here in the summer!

Would not consider this a 4 star hotel! The grounds/amenities are nice but the rooms were small and cheap looking. I've stayed in 2 star hotels with rooms that looked exactly like these. I'm definitely no travel snob but we stayed here as a special treat for my 30th birthday and for the money we spent I was expecting a luxurious room. Instead it felt like an old lodge that had been spruced up a bit with new bathroom tile.

PROS: good internet speed, relatively quiet rooms, comfy bed, free parking, pretty area, room temperature was very comfortable and easy to adjust, blackout curtains were great

CONS: our room door wouldn't seal shut all the way, the floor in the room above us creaked horribly whenever that room's occupant walked across it, restaurant prices were too high, blanket on the bed was ridiculously heavy (as in painful to have it on it was so heavy. I ended up just sleeping with 2 sheets over me instead), bathroom fan was ineffective at removing steam so it felt very muggy in the bathroom even 2 hours after a shower

We stayed for two nights and when we got our room there was a really strange smell in there, we made a complaint but got the answer that is was newly renovated so that couldn t be the case. Second morning we woke up and both my pregnant wife and I had bad headache, then I saw dripping from the bathroom ceiling. I Realized that the smell was dissolved paint from the ceiling, we directly got the attention from hotel staff, several people from the staff along with several of our friends confirmed the strong smell. We didn t want to pay a cent for that room and tried to get a promise from the hotel that they wouldn t rent that room to any other guests before it was fixed. Off course we wanted to have a full refund, but the only thing they offered us was a 50% discount which we didn t think was enough. After several calls and a lots of promises to get back to us, without any success, we ended up with one of the managers refusing to do anything about our situation. Wouldn t recommend anyone to stay here, ever...

Beautiful establishment with all the staff, from the bartender, servers and desk staff. Definitely was decorated nicely for Christmas. Although it was cold, it was nice sitting on the deck with the fire going, also looked great! Great time!

The dinner buffet is very nice, but I was unimpressed by how disorganized it was.

We bought the Bed and Breakfast package which included breakfast. We were supposed to get a free breakfast buffet, but they never gave us the coupons for it. We arrived for breakfast late enough that they considered it brunch even when we explained it to them. We talked to several people and explained everything, they said that they would take care of it.

A few days later we found out that they took care of it by charging us for brunch to our room (which we only discovered because the charge appeared on our credit card.)

If you are keeping score, that means we were charged for both breakfast and brunch.

Very disappointing!

Edit: Upon seeing this review, the resort took action and corrected the problem regarding us being double chraged. This prompted me to upgrade my rating from 2 stars to 3. While they did make it right, the fact that they were so disorganized is still very djsappointing.

Nothing like it looks online! I can tell you the rooms are no better than a Marriott or Hilton. Don t waste your money here if you are looking for a resort experience. Front desk was super nice though!! we switched rooms like 3 times cause the smell here (can t describe it, not horrible not great.) and she didnt complain or anything she actually helped us! There was no remote in my room and I had to google how to turn on the tv and change channels cause it didn t have any buttons on it and they couldn t bring remotes til the following day. Also absolutely disgusting was period blood on the toilet that was failed to be cleaned. On top of everything the views here suck. I can t help but feel I was scammed. I don t even write reviews but this place does not need to be charging these prices for a basic hotel experience.

I've stayed here a few times for business. Very dated. Terrible front desk service. I would not recommend you stay here. Beautiful location and views but that's it. On my next trip I will be insisting on another location.

There is no way this is a 4 star hotel.

Very old facility, you can hear the footsteps upstairs and people talking next door very clearly. Beds and sheets are very uncomfortable. Balcony door is difficult to open and close. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

I can't begin to tell you the bad experience I'm currently having here. Yes, as I write this I'm in the room. Room 218 in the Elk Lodge building. We arrived this afternoon to get away for a night and relax. Upon showing up I was told that the rate I booked the room for was too low, and was asked to spend an additional $60 for the room. They told me I somehow booked the room under a corporate account and was not supposed to receive that price, however I had booked on their website and followed all the prompts it gave me when booking, so I have no idea how this happened. Im in marketing and in my profession we call this "bait and switch." They advertise one rate then switch it to another. But I still paid reluctantly. Upon entering the room, it is not worth the $189 price I paid (originally booked at $127). Cut to later that day...We left the room and upon returning at 8:30PM, found a woman in our room which seemed quite odd, and right when we showed up she left. We then got in the shower and found mold growing on the shower curtain. In my opinion I would never recommend this resort and would even go as far as to tell people to steal clear. In my opinion spend a little more and stay at the Broadmore. You will have a better experience.

The beds are very comfortable and the resort atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. They have a full range of activities on site including, fitness center, pools and lake, fitness center, golf course, and restaurants with good food.

It's location leaves something to be desired, as you need to travel some distance to get to Garden of the Gods, Manitou Springs, or even Downtown/Old Town Colorado Springs. There's also not much near by as far as walking distance either.

I tried to plan a special weekend for a friend who just lost her husband. I thought the girlfriends get away package would be perfect. Sadly it turned out to be Very expensive, not worth the money for the experience! The package included our room, a spa treatment, lunch with mimosas and late check out. Had I purchased all this separately I would have saved over $100!
Prior to booking I asked about availability for the spa treatment, I was told yes there is availability. Not so, when I booked the only thing available was a very basic mani/pedi. Then due to time problems on their end we had to go with a pedi only.
Additionally if you pay separately for the late checkout you don't need to check out until 3:00, our late check out was 2:00.
Don't do the packages.....NOT WORTH THE EXTRA MONEY!!

What a beautiful place Gorgeous pool and hot tub with a mountain view (pic from inside the hot tub lol). Large patio and fireplace a level above the pool with the same gorgeous mountain view. Big comfy rooms with a patio were wonderful. I'll definitely be back to stay again!

There is generally one response you get from the staff, "I don't know." The food was subpar for resort and had literally the same menu in two different restaurants. They started remodeling the entire lobby the day after we got there, all so it could be ready for the owner's family reunion in August (that's one thing the staff did know). This affected the adjacent restaurant and sports bar, cutting off food service and the obnoxious noise. The clincher was at the end of our stay, we arranged with the front desk (face-to-face) to be picked up at our room with a golf cart to transport our luggage for an early morning flight. Needless to say, they never showed and no one was around to give us ride either. The views are the only redeeming quality to this place.

This hotel/motel, in my opinion should not be classified as a resort. While the grounds are pretty and has nice views, the facility is old and outdated. We were so disappointed.

The room was older and didn t look like the pictures on the website. You could hear the people in the room above you, from footsteps, to the toilet flushing, to full on conversations. When we arrived I had to wipe down the door handles in the bathroom and an area of the door itself. There were clothes on the patio, left from the previous guest I suppose, which makes me believe that they didn t clean the patio furniture when they cleaned the room. We were charged a $50 resort fee, even though the hot tubs are closed and it was too cold to use the pool.

The grounds were well maintained and the views were pretty, but not worth the room rate.

We will not return, especially during COVID times, as I believe their cleaning is not thorough enough.

Cheyenne Mountain Resort is one of my favorite places in Colorado Springs to go for an event, a brunch, or a night away. Husband and I stayed here on our wedding night before we left on our honeymoon. Gorgeous, mountain feel with lots of wood and a giant stone fireplace. Gorgeous views.

Always a top notch place to spend a weekend, relaxing evening, event, or dinner and a cocktail. The staff is normally okay if not a notch above standard. Some staff goes above and beyond other staff can be standard or sub par. The consistency of my experience here is definitely lacking but I will still rate this 5 stars because the ambiance is classy and there is a place for everyone hear and atmosphere can be chosen depending on your taste because of extensive hangouts located on the property. Whether you want to hang at main bar or have a cocktail or glass of wine out on the fireplace porch, this venue has all you need to have and great experience. Not to mention the views!

Nice place. Our room was very clean. The front desk employees were helpful. Unfortunately we came on off-season, so we could swim or use some of other amenities. But we felt comfortable. We do wish the rooms have microwaves.

The view from the hotel is amazing! The mountains are literally right there and we took so many pictures. The inside of the hotel is beautiful as well. Very clean and very well presented. The lobby looks like a modern style cabin. We enjoyed our stay.

Don t stay here! THEY DON T CHANGE THE SHEETS BETWEEN GUESTS! Traveled to the resort for an overnight spa trip. When I went to get into bed I found a colored pencil and pencil markings on the sheets. It took housekeeping over an hour to come and another 45 minutes to change the sheets. So gross.

I had an amazing stay. They have awesome staff, clean rooms and beautiful view. During my stay it was nice to have a Coffie shop close and breakfast down in the lobby. Trust me when I say the breakfast is wroth the price it is amazing. Also they offer military and other discounts so be sure to ask. Overall I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay at a nice resort for a great price.

We enjoyed our stay here. Rooms are clean, with very comfortable beds. The linens are crisp but not starched. This makes for a comfortable, zero rustle sleep. Carpets could use a bit of updating, but otherwise the hotel is really well maintained. We visited in 'COVID' October and really appreciated the heated pools. The kids enjoyed outdoor swimming and fresh air and I appreciated not having to reserve the pool in advance.

Pro tip: do upgrade to a room with a mountain view. In this case it's worth it!

Not a huge fan of this place. The rooms are rarely accessed from the main lobby and haven't to be driven to; the rooms are a bit dated; didn't find the mattresses to be comfortable, and they messed up my billing and recharged me 2 months later.
