I must say the food and view are phenomenal here. The staff... Fantastic! The price was far higher than expected. Don't get me wrong everything is fantastic but the value based on the number of itmes served on the buffet didn't equate. I attended the Mother's Day brunch and the taste of the food was great, but at $70 dollars a plate my expectations were not met. Drop that price by $20 to $50 a plate and you wouldn't hear me say these things. A second note would be they hadn't turned on the air conditioning and it was quite hot and that really took away from our dining experience. To leave this on a good note, Brad our server was fantastic and was there for everything we needed. Thank You Brad. Overall the food tasted fantastic, there just wasn't enough variety to meet the cost of $70 dollars a plate.

We stayed here for 4 nights and the resort is beautiful! Comfortable beds which were great after hiking. There are many things to do but our favorite was sitting around the fire at the end of the night and making Smores, you can buy the whole kit at the bar.

We had a horrible experience with this property.. My husband was booked there because of a funeral.. His originating flight was delayed beyond when he could participate in the service..
He had to cancel the rest of the flight and his hotel reservation. No problem with the airline. However, this Resort hotel would not refund or even offer to refund part of the the one nights stay.
Not very classy.

I enjoyed the stay here, beautiful view, no issues with staff or other guests. The room was clean but could use a interior upgrade. But that didnt make it break my overall satisfaction. I'd go back again.

This place is the place to gonif you don't like the price point and general snootiness of the Briarwood. The staff is amazing especially the assistant front valet manager and everyone else I encountered. Scenery is amazing. World class golf course although I can't afford it by a long shot

Beautiful resort. Got a couple drink at the bar & service was unacceptably slow for the amount of business. I'd recommend going directly to the bar and not using the server. Our drinks sat there a while before I just went up and got them myself.

Not impressed with this place at all. Screen door broken when we got into our room, no one ever came to fix it.
Coffe pot doesn't work properly and pours hot coffee all over inside cabinet and carpet.
Ice machine is in some lost land that nobody can find and of course there are no signs. Television doesn't work...keeps flipping to a blank screen...dumb!
Fairly certain a few homeless kids ("we're not really staying here...) came and took over the hot tub while me and my party were in it.
The only reason this place gets any stars is because of the beds and the view. Will NEVER be coming back.

The Pros:

The Pros:
Great staff, Derek specifically was top notch and even surprised us with champagne for our anniversary.
The bed and pillows are really comfortable. I really could have sat there all day.
Checkout time is noon so you don't feel rushed.

The Cons:
The room was pretty loud. We could hear every movement the person above us made.

The sliding door didn't really want to slide.

There could stand to be some updating in the decor but, it was ok.

The little wet wipe to remove your makeup obviously was not changed out because though still in the packaging there were little specks of someone's toothpaste on it.

Overall, though the staff really did make up for a lot that was lacking here we probably won't be back. The hotel is marketed at a "luxury resort" but, I don't feel that fits the bill. I've stayed at Marriotts that were more luxurious. I feel like the price of the room was way too much for what I was expecting. They charge a resort fee for things that would come with any other hotel visit. e.g. fitness center, pool, etc. So, next time I think we will try somewhere else.

Always a pleasure. The Christmas buffet is wonderful. The service is exceptional. Endless mimosas are just right. Omelets station so good! I have no complaints except I wish is was less expensive so I could go more often!

Great atmosphere- both indoor and outdoor seating with fireplace at the restaurant (did not spend the night). There was a gourmet smorr bar option on that Friday night. Hotel is elegant but not stuffy. Definitely a great place to grab time with friends or on a date. Appropriately attentive server.

This is a nice Hotel, very beautiful lobby large wooden beams and rock fireplace. Bed are very comfortable. Rooms have very nice views. The rooms are small and very dated. They have remodeled the bathroom s with slate and tile but they are still lacking for a four star "resort".

I would not recommend this resort. At least, not until their COVID-19 procedures or restrictions are improved. Until they are ready to serve their customers they shouldn't be operating. Having no towel service or room cleaning isn't good business. Waiting a half day for an item like toilet paper is not okay. Trash outside the doors for hours is also not okay either. The level of service for the price of our stay was not acceptable in my opinion. There was no communication from management regarding any process changes and being told repeatedly, "oh well that's not open, or the pool closes early now, or no we can't provide room service". Unless you are ready to offer a certain level of service and hospitality, don't open for business. I now realize from my initial interaction when we first arrived that that this is not a place I would chose to stay again.

Let's start with the positives:

Let's start with the positives:
The view was great! From our room, the dining venues and the golf course.
There was plenty of stuff to do (if it wasnt raining). I would have liked to have been more informed on bad weather options.
Now to the reasons for only two stars:
Our room hadn't been updated. Because of that, I dont believe the cleaning crew cared too much about the quality of the job they did. The shower had mold/mildew on the tile and in the grout. The carpet was old and smelled horrible. The automatic lock/unlock on the door didnt work half of the time (would register the card was accepted, but didnt actually unlock the door). The temperature of the room was either warm and musty or freezing cold (that was with just a 2 degree temperature adjustment with the thermostat).
The hospitality/service level of the staff was horrible 95% of the time. We actually had just ONE good server (great job Donna) for all of the meals we had there. Like I mentioned before, the housekeeping showed little attention to our room aside from making the bed and replenishing coffee capsules. Used towels and washcloths were left. Garbage not gathered, complimentary toiletries not replenished when emptied and the most obvious was the lack of bathroom cleaning.
Would I recommend this place? Sure, in a couple of years when the remodeling has been completed. Just know, you will be paying for EVERYTHING extra at this resort and it will be a premium price at that.

Could be a grat place, but needs to improve in a few areas. Wait staff at clubhouse restaurant not organized or knowledgable about beer menu. Room had multiple dead spiders (and 1 live that we saw), trash full in all outside areas in am, and outdoor tables not cleared by morning. Rooms clean, food at restaurant was decent.

We chose Cheyenne Mountain Resort as our location for a company retreat and I'm so glad that we did. I was coordinating 60 people traveling from all over the US in a very short period of time and the resort administrators were so professional, accommodating, and organized. I would agree with some of the other reviews regarding outdated decor not really being highlighted online, however, they are in the midst of renovations and updating a lot of their rooms and resort areas. The food was so very good and honestly, every employee I came across could not have been more sweet. Our company normally doesn't go to the same location twice, however, I will make sure to let everyone know this is a great location for large groups, events, or just anyone who wants to take in the magnificent views.

Pros: the views are seriously amazing! The views make it cons worth it. The pools are wonderful and the lake is so cool. Kayaking and paddle boarding can be hard to actually do if it is busy, but once you actually get to do it you will love it. There are 3 little water slides that the kids absolutely loved. There is a little kiddie pool for the toddlers. The pool water is the perfect temperature. There is an adult only pool if the kids get too much in the other pools. The food at the club golf course is really good. The resorts other restaurant was closed due to COVID so I can t comment on that restaurant. The golf course is really nice, but because it s a country club you need to adhere to strict course dress code. (No big deal just wanted to throw that in.)

Cons: Nobody really knows what they are talking about at the front desk. You get a different answer from everybody depending on who answers the phone. No housekeeping. You need to call for towels and to get the garbage dumped. In between levels is dangerous for toddlers because it s at least a 10 foot drop between level 2 and 1 with no guard rails up.

My girlfriends and I stayed their 3 weeks ago. Every single day the keys would not work to get into room, we had to go back up to the front desk and get new keys... it went on for 5 days. They need new doors and new system...ASAP!

Also, they marketed the beautiful golf course and surroundings on their site , which it is, but I expected to be able to walk the golf course in the morning or on the grounds ... at golf course... there is no where to walk on actual property.... very disappointing! !!

I didn t want to walk the surrounding neighborhoods, we payed for the grounds and surrounding!

Rooms very small and small bathrooms for 3 people...stains on carpet...

If you book online apparently that gives you low priority of getting the room you selected regardless of when you book. Someone could call in the day of your reservation for your room and take it because you have a lower priority. When we got them they informed us of this, then didn't even bother having our room ready despite changing our room. We waited an hour, made a stink and by the time we got into our room it was too late to do any of the activities that day, and all we got was an "woopsy, darn, well you booked online so..."

I do really enjoy this place. As a member of the county club this is a great place to visit and spend nights relaxing night. I did have some concerns with the attitude of a front desk rep when I addressed some minor problems with her, but after posting a review both the front desk manager and the country club manager were on top of fixing issues. I feel like this place is a good place to hang out and spend time with your friends, family, and coworkers. It s a great treat for the whole family; and I enjoy rewarding my staff with trips here. I m excited to see how this place functions at full capacity post-covid.

We stayed at the resort in June just after everything started to open up from COVID. We got 2 connecting rooms with a beautiful view, however the heat wouldnt turn on in either room and the fridge in one of the rooms had leftover food from a previous person. I called the front desk and was told someone would come clean my room in front of me or switch rooms. We opted to switch rooms. However it was left at that and the more I thought about that not meeting normal cleaning standards let alone COVID standards I went to the front office and spoke to the manager. She did agree with me on cleaning and assured me she would be talking to the head of housekeeping in the morning. She also comped us 1 nights stay.
The grounds are so breathtaking and there are deer everywhere.

The resort itself is great. Stunning views from the rooms and fun activities on the beach/ lake. I would give the resort five stars, but for the price during covid, the restrictions that are in place make it a pricey place to stay. I would stay again if I was in the area.

Totally not worth the price, and we stayed in the ...

Totally not worth the price, and we stayed in the off season. If the experience we had is what you get during peak -yikes!

Let's start with the room. Aside from being a tired room in desperate need of updating the thermostat had two settings .Off or blast furnace making for extremely uncomfortable nights and being forced to open the patio (not safe) to balance out the fire.

Out of 4 days our room was cleaned once and when we checked into it, it had a little disposal dish full of garbage from the last resident, including Band-Aids, and we had to find and plug in several lamps and the alarm clock that were unplugged by the previous ccupant. Clearly attention to detail is lacking.

Moving on to food. We stayed over the holidays, so maybe they were short staffed, but over three meals the food was constantly served overcooked and room temperature (if we we're lucky). For the price of the food, I'd hope to have a better dining experience.

The ONLY saving grace was that the staff was friendly but seemed to not be empowered at all. When these issues were raised, they apologized but didn't offer to make a single accommodation.

When we got our final bill, the daily room rate ended up being significantly more then what was advertised. Pay attention to the resort fees and other items not in the quoted rate. All in all - a bad stay and won't be back.

Don't recommend.

We had a better experience at the Best Western in Omaha on our way home. A third the price, better food, and a modern room.

Recently stayed at the Cheyenne mountain resort fo...

Recently stayed at the Cheyenne mountain resort for our wedding this past week. From first looks the resort looks amazing but beyond that many things are wrong with it. We had about 30 people staying there with multiple issues with the rooms. From air conditioning not working to screen doors on rooms falling off or having holes in them. We had inquired about room blocking here back in February (which our party did not use). The reservation department had booked us down for 3 golf tee times for 4 people on each time. At the time of check in and booking this week there was no mention of having these tee times reserved for us. Luckily we had called to see what the prices were for playing golf and were told about them and that if we didn t use them or cancel them we would be charged for the full price. When checking in multiple different people of the staff had different stories on check in procedure, one being that we had to pay the full price of our stay before the stay and another being that we only had to pay the first night stay plus $50 a night charge. Shouldn t the reservation staff know what charges are due at check in which looking up the reservation? The rooms are extremely outdated. Beds and pillows feel like you are sleeping on concrete. Representatives of the resort informed us that the rooms would be going under improvement this past winter which was one reason we chose to stay here only to find out that it was false news. Elevations bar has good food and drinks but our party was told that they stay open until 1:00am if there is a crowd of people still there. After the night of our wedding we came in at 10:30 with 40 people there and about 30 people right behind them. At 10:45 everyone was told to get out because the bar was closed. I have stayed at multiple resorts and there is always a bar open later than 11:00pm to accommodate guests. This hotel needs to have some serious help in its departments for guest accommodations with trying to be a competitor with the Broadmoor only a short distance away.

The pictures online are NOT accurate. This is a motel setup, you have to go outside to get to your room. The rooms are cheaply renovated and you can hear the people walking in the rooms above. Cheap towels they re like sandpaper. Also there is no option to upgrade rooms.

We are currently staying here and night one the fridge doesn t work, the air conditioner is on a motion sensor, what hotel does that?? So sitting in bed if you don t move it gets to 74 it won t drop below even when the motion kicks on, we re told this is how it works. No glasses in room but yet we have ice and coffee to make/use provided by hotel. The outside does not look like a resort, as online shows it s an outside motel look. Will never be back to this resort. Not worth the money!!

Thin, thin, thin ceilings! Unless you are staying on the top floor don't even think about it. I was trying to be compassionate and think they may have a baby that qoke up every hour and they had to pace the squeaky floors to get him to go back to sleep, but I only got a few hours of sleep and now I have to try to function today so my kids can have fun in the pools and on the beach (which are awesome, yes, but that doesn't make up for a horrible night's sleep).
