There are many sports options available, even lake activities, tennis and golf. There are several pools on site and a very extensive fitness center. They also have a spa for several types of massages at reasonable prices. There are a couple of nice restaurants here and the Mountain View Restaurant has one of the best quality buffets I have ever seen. The only down side that I noticed is that one must order a microwave brought up to the room if one uses one like we always do. They made up for no microwave in the room by giving free robes to us. Two nice, white robes with the Cheyenne Mountain Resort logo on it for no extra cost!!

We had Thanksgiving dinner at this lodge. Food was good and plenty of room for everyone to have a seat. The entire meal was buffet style with complimentary champagne.
The worst worst hotel I've ever been with my family.... We are a family of 3 my 9 year old son and my wife and I.... paid $436+ 100 of secured deposit for any damages and what a surprise it looked nice but the worst Services ever always wrong information we couldn't enjoy the swimming pool and the lake wow and no lunch or breakfast neither a dinning was open when I was told that the food dining would be open before I reserved a room .... the worst part was that we didn't have any cleaning services during our length stay I was in room #332 Don't go here this the worst + I'm still waiting for the manager to call me back or either I would get a lawyer and make this 0star hotel close for not being cleaned
Dont come here and plus I drove from California to Colorado springs the worst Services I've ever had Go to the Caribbean islands its cheaper and better
My husband and I spent the last 2 nights at Cheyenne Mountain Resort. We have stayed here in the past, so we were looking forward to the accommodations. The room (standard with a king bed) was rather expensive. But we waited until the last minute to book, and it's peak season, so I wasn't too surprised. Unfortunately, our room was right across the hall from a conference room. It was on the lowest level with our balcony facing the parking lot and unfortunately most of our view was of the next buildings. I DO NOT believe that room should have been billed at $349 per night. That bank of rooms, in my opinion, should have been discounted because of the high traffic in the hall outside the rooms. I gave 5 stars because we hardly used our room, instead spent all day at the Alluvia spa. Our treatments were fantastic, our masseurs talented and attentive! The spa itself is very inviting and being a guest at Cheyenne Mountain Resort, you have full access to the hot tub and steam shower. I will definitely return to the spa, but have second thoughts about reserving a room.
The CMR is a classy place to visit for a casual drink with friends. The atmosphere is quiet, much more pleasant than something like a sports bar. The overstuffed chairs in the lobby/sitting area are quite comfortable and conducive to conversation. I plan to make this a regular meeting spot.
This place was a huge disappointment for my husband and me. We live in Colorado Springs and scheduled an impromptu getaway for our 30th anniversary this weekend without ever seeing the property and without reading the reviews--big mistake on our part. The word Resort is a big joke, and so is the additional resort fee they charge. The rooms have an outdoor entrance which resembles outdated apartment buildings. We ended up with two different rooms, and eventually just decided to check out early.
Our first room: Located on first floor, could hear outside noise, noise from upstairs and from room next to us, trash in room not emptied from previous guests, two of lamps did not work
At 10:30 pm we asked to be moved to a different room.
We were moved to a 3rd floor, but had to spend several minutes circling the parking lot searching for somewhere to park not enough parking at this place!
Our 2nd room: much larger, but walls and floors were just way too thin, still noisy, shower curtain liner was dirty, my husband was kept awake by the noisy heater going off and on during the night, as well as the lumpy bed. (My husband usually sleeps through any and everything!)
Fortunately, we live in town and were able to cut our stay short and just go home. Not a pleasant experience and will never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.
Went for a Christmas party and had a blast. Beautiful setting and scenery; party continued at the bar. Service wad great and that double cheeseburger I had, my goodness.
Nice rooms, heated year round swimming pool unless the weather is bad. Nice veiws. Can go to the fitness center, close tennis courts, glof course, seasonal outdoor 50meter pool and a lake Worth a beach. Service was great.
Stayed at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort for a couple nights with my husband as a "stay-cation". The staff were all very nice and helpful. The amenities we used were great, we went to the pool and hot tub during a movie night which was fun and then enjoyed the beach and SUP boards/kayaks all day which was as close to a beach vacation as you can get in Colorado! The room was comfortable and cleaned, but the rooms definitely are not as updated as other hotels we've been to recently. Also, the bathroom did not vent well so seemed to have a little mildew. Otherwise it was a wonderful stay, we'll definitely consider staying here again!
BEAUTIFUL! We love staying here. Minutes away from Cheyenne Mountian Zoo. Beautiful rooms and views. Lovely patio to watch the sunset. Reasonably priced for the quality of your stay.
I stayed here for work during the NEI coference at The Broadmoor and it was great. The show managed a free shuttle service that ran all day long, which was convenient. The resort itself has outstanding food at the bar. The smoked Bricket Pizza is a perfect meal for two, and the happy hour bison burger and draft beer was pleasant as well. Both dinners cost me $12, which is a fair price. The staff are all super friendly. The rooms are clean and the shower is hot. The temperature was perfect. I didn't need AC or the heater the entire stay. And the view of the mountains and town from the room and from the main building was spectacular. The bed and pillows are clean, soft, and comfortable. Or at least as comfortable as a hotel can be. Nothing beats my own bed.
My one and only complaint was the awful chorizo burrito at the cafe. It tasted terrible. Not worth $7.50. Lesson learned.
Meh. There was no soap next to the sink in the bathroom. Maybe it's just me, but I like to wash my hands after using the toilet. There were also no cups in the bathroom at all. Another funny quirk I have is rinsing after brushing my teeth. They hit you with a $25.00 resort fee. I asked what it covered and she said "Coffee maker in your room, a pool and hot tub..." So... ok. But those are free most places. I liked the big fireplace in the lobby and the greeter in front was a nice guy. They need to make sure they have cups and soap at the sinks, and for my money, a coffeemaker in the lobby is preferable to playing with that silly one in the room which only makes about a cup and a half.
I wouldn't even give this resort 1 star, but no stars isn't an option. This resort is very mediocre!!! The rooms are small and doesn't have a stocked fridge or microwave, nothing like most 4-5 star hotels. The rooms aren't dirty but it looks no different then a typical hotel. In fact I can name a few hotels that are cheaper but 10x better then this place!!! The restaurant, spa and pool are nice but nothing to write home about. For this place to be advertised as family friendly it's amazing how they charge $9 for a bowl of cereal and milk. Housekeeping was horrible!!! I had to call several times to receive fresh wash cloths and towels. When I finally received the cloths I was so disgusted!!!! The custodial worker knocked on the door and I looked through the peep hole. HE HAD HIS CHIN ON TOP OF THE WASH CLOTHS BECAUSE HIS HANDS WERE FULL, how freaking disgusting is that!!!!!! Later I had to ask for more wash cloths. I met a person from housekeeping at their storage closet and I was disgusted by how dirty the shelves are. I couldn't believe that a 4 star hotel would store bath towels in such s dirty environment. Last but not least the front desk was unpleasant and rude. I hate to play the race card, but it seemed like the two guys working the front desk didn't have a hard time being friendly to white guest. Bottom line is this place is overpriced and not fit to be considered a luxury hotel.
Exterior lodge appeal: interior hotel ambiance. Buffet offered for every meal is often extraordinary and coupled with multiple selections. The view towards the mountains and golf course is exceptional. The rooms are more than basic. Quiet area. A luxurious experience for a higher price.
Worst Christmas dinner I have ever had! They simply packed people in and we're just trying to make a quick buck. I have been going to this restaurant for Christmas dinner for many years and have never been disappointed however this year they seemed to try to make any place to put a table a suitable seat for their guests. This was far from suitable and was a country club turned county buffet with sub par service and terrible food. The main dinning room was as expected as far as looks but just a few steps away was a bright banquet room with no ambiance you would expect from this restaurant. The glasses on the table were dirty and every place setting was missing spoons and knifes. The servers were ratty looking and seemed to be pulled from your local work release program. The food in the side rooms was not presented in a way that you would expect for a 600 dollar meal. The food in the side rooms were cold and looked as if it was thrown in a 200 pan with no regard to taste or presentation. The server Jose was asked for the check when he returned he watched over our shoulders waiting for the check to be completed as if he was unconcerned about the service and more concerned about getting out of work. I would not return under any circumstances avoid at all cost especially around the holidays.
Great views, big bedrooms, food was pretty good. Expensive but that's to be expected. There wasn't hot water on the first morning but it was fixed by noon. Friendly staff.
We attended a marriage seminar here. It was a lovely time. The grounds are beautiful, the swimming options are varied and the mountain views are outstanding. I particularly love how many decks there are with ample seating. Get ready to see nature and all its creatures! We saw raccoons, deer, spiders(outside) and they were fearless! The room wasn't anything special. It seemed a little dated, but it suited the basic needs. The bed was comfy. The shower had good water pressure. I took one star off because the linens in our room were stained with what appeared to be period blood...eww.
And incredibly beautiful spot in the United States. At the base of Pikes Peak, the Rocky Mountains at its absolute greatest. From the mornings first lights which give you view of every facet of the rocks until darkness where the Will Rogers shrine begins to glow, it's an amazing and beautiful place in America.
Lovely place. They are remodeling. Never let us know. Ended up with a room that the phone did not work, the door was Very difficult to open(I had to put my hip into it to open it every time, ice machine was not working, last the dresser/tv stand looked like a dog chewed on it. We have stayed here multiple times before and this weekend was not up to par for the price charged.
Beautiful resort! Our room was clean and spacious and we enjoyed the fantastic view from the balcony. The hotel staff were extremely polite and accommodating. We would definitely stay again.
So last night was my first stay at this establishment which was also for my anniversary with my wife. Everything seemed kosher until we walked into our room.
First problem was the drawer in the night stand. I opened it and the drawer fell out. The bracket stayed attached on the right but the bracket stayed attached to the drawer instead.
I went out on the balcony, and let s just say it hadn t been touched in a while. There were cobwebs at almost every angle, both on the Hamilton rail and the floor, even had some on the ceiling as well.
The worst part was the insulation that was exposed from what it looks like hail damage. There were 7 different areas where insulation was sticking out from under the wood. When I looked up, I noticed overspray of white paint.
The caulking in the tub failed at more than 50% of the diameter of the tub, was cracked at places & the tile has begun to pop up almost an 1/8 of an inch.
For dinner we chose to eat at the GateGrille on the property. Reservations were for 6pm but we arrived a little early. We were seated almost immediately which was nice as we wanted to have a drink before dinner. We ordered the fried pickles with sriracha sauce, and they were good, the sauce wasn t overpowering either.
My wife ordered the crab cakes dinner; which included mashed potatoes (tasty), and spicy Brussels sprouts (don t eat em but wife enjoyed them). I ordered the Club Sandwich. The sandwich is good but I d rather have thicker bread, but overall, it was good. I substituted onion rings for fries, crispy and flavorful, so checked that box. The biggest mistake of our meal is when my wife was served her Malbec in a dirty, sticky wine glass. It was replaced and we finished our meal, paid and left (tipped 18%).
As we settled into the evening, we wanted to utilize the jet tub since we upgraded ($49 more), but to our disappointment the dial for the timer that operates the jet tub didn t work, and Engineering came to our room, removed the dial and never returned to replace the dial.
Some may not agree with this review but I feel wholeheartedly this property deserves the rating they earned. We re talking house insulation exposed at a Resort. Someone could inhale that dangerous material.
I spoke with management and explained that I would never come back. My personal recommendation is do not spend or waste your time and money here.
Good location, nice amenities, but small outdated rooms. They have a restaurant and bar on site as well as several pools. And As balcony with fire pit. We liked the amenities, although the bar staff was as bit surly and all the taps were down. Our room was disappointing for the price, as dingy and outdated room for over 250 a night.
Nicely appointed hotel/convention center with all of the usual amenities business travelers expect. Rooms are spread out in sections throughout the resort, so plan accordingly when packing as there is some walking involved in getting to and from your room to the lodge. Overall, a very nice experience. Pools, golf course, awesome views and that Colorado atmosphere. Rooms were clean and well appointed. Minutes away from Old Colorado City for a nice afternoon break or diversion. Also, around the corner from some good restaurants and a small shopping area. As far as a choice for a business place, Cheyenne Mountain is well above average.
