Everyone I dealt with at the dealer were friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. Shaun Mcdade was especially helpful. We had a ball game to get to and asked that the new car sale be completed by 10:30. We were on the road with the new car by 10:42, well within our expectations.

I called for service multiple times and nobody answered. I kept being routed back to a receptionist or another employee. I was finally transferred to a voice mail and was told I would be contacted shortly with my inquiry. It has been 4 hours and no response back. Boo!

Im adding to my previous review.. a second attempt to talk to a service partner and no response via voice-mail. I have had great service in the past here, however this has been extremely frustrating

I recommend NOT considering this dealer if you're interested in the used cars they have in stock. I can't recommend them in general either because of how bafflingly bad their service was. My wife and I went here to check out some of the used vehicles they had in stock and advertised on their website. They could literally could not have provided worse customer service because they provided exactly none. We checked in, told them in general what we were looking for, and were told by a salesperson to have a seat and he'd be with us. He tried to give the impression it wouldn't be a terribly long wait. He gave us no indication that the wait could be quite a while. We waited a good hour then decided to give a call to another dealer to see if they were less busy and if they could see us soon (they could and saw us as soon as we got there). Before leaving we stopped by the desk again to see if having another dealer waiting for our business would at least motivate them to give us a real estimate of how much longer we'd be waiting if we wanted to stay. Nothing. No "hold on, I'm sure we can get you seen within about X minutes". No "sorry we're so swamped today. Let me get you a card and get your number so we can set something up". Nothing. Just a wave goodbye. Mind you, for cars this dealer chose to carry and is presumably trying to sell. I understand some days are busier than others.and also that if you're buying a used car at a brand name dealer, not bargain Bob's lot, you just might have to wait longer than new car buyers. That's fine and just reality. There are polite ways to clue someone in that they're just going to be a low priority on this particular day, but still, you know, try to sell those used cars taking up space on your lot. They gave us zero hints subtle or otherwise that we'd be wasting our time there, and showed zero concern we were leaving instead of sticking around to try to work with them to get a car off their hands. If you don't want to sell used cars, don't carry them and don't advertise the trade ins that come through before you get a chance to trade them off to other dealers. And if by chance you don't want to sell to a Latino, go out of business please.

Horrible experience that still makes me furious to think about. A summary of my experience:

1. Basically had to drag a salesperson out to talk about the vehicles
2. The person hardly new their own vehicles and inventory.
3. The salesperson wreaked of cigarette smoke -- I initially thought it was the car and refused to consider it. The salesperson told me it was just him and turns out, it was.
4. The negotiating process is ridiculous as they always had to consult their boss in the 'back room'.
5. I had to wait more than an hour an a half after signing so I could speak with the high-pressure condescending extended warranty person.
6. After being told no multiple times, the final salesperson continued to draw out his condescension toward my spouse and I.
7. The final salesperson convinced us we had to get truck plates instead of using our traded in plates. When our plates arrived they weren't even truck plates!

I would absolutely stay away from this dealership. Toyota makes a great vehicle and it is unfortunate that I had such a terrible experience trying to get one.

Always a good experience servicing my car here. I drive Toyota's and only service my cars at this dealership.

I purchased a certified used Corlla mid-January from Carlson. The salesman was delightful, but the car has been nothing but problems. I've put $1,000 into it in 10 months, $400 of which was due to work done by the dealership prior to my purchase. They refused to fix the poor workmanship. I also never received my free Carfax report from having purchased certified which leads me to believe they didn't want me to see it. I paid top dollar for a sub-par Corolla from them. Would not recommend this place.

The Carlson Toyota staff is very professional and knowledgeable. As a long time customer, I always feel informed and appreciated. Preston Buechler helped me lease my new 2018 Camry. Preston was very personable, while taking time to answer all my questions. He made the process stress free and enjoyable. I felt confident driving my new car off the lot. I ve never written a review before online but I just had to! My Mom came to Carlson Toyota to look for a replacement of her 14 year old corolla. We were met outside by Bob Graff and so happy to have crossed paths! He took the time to really find out the important things my Mom wanted in her next car. He suggested the perfect vehicle for her, A RAV 4! After a really great and easy to understand test drive and showing all the new features to us, we went inside and Bob made purchasing so easy. Mom loves her new RAV and driving more than ever now! We had an incredible experience and are so happy with the new car. A truly smooth car buying experience with sales person that really go out of the way to make sure we are happy and understand the whole buying process. Bob, We will be back for my Highlander :)

My husband and I had a great experience at Carlson Toyota. Vlad was a great salesman. He wasn't your dreaded stereotypical car salesman. He allowed us to look at the cars we wanted to see and he was very knowledgeable. We were greeted by multiple staff members and were always being checked on to either make sure we were being taken care of or providing updates. Should we find ourselves in need of another vehicle, we will definitely be back.

I had very bad experience at Carlson Toyota dealership and regret going there. Was looking to buy Toyota Tacoma based on the fact that they are only toyota dealership in twin cities offering Costco pricing. I negociated the sale price but the sales and finance people were dishonest and untrutful in not disclosing finance charges they tucked into the final price they made obvious only I signed the papers. Based on my experience trongly discurage anyone from buying car there.

Complete waste of time without beating around the bush. I followed up a text to a gentleman name Nick about 2 days after I called in for a specific truck including stock number. Came in, was helped immediately by front desk but waited about 5-10 minutes to be told they were prepping the wrong truck for me to look at. I then directed him to the correct vehicle on their website and later was told someone else took it home to see if it fits in their garage??? With all that being said, I was offered a similar truck at a higher price along with higher mileage. Sigh... Don't get me wrong, I understand it might be busy during the time I got there (weekend after Thanksgiving) but at least have an idea what's in the inventory when you schedule a time with your customers. Overall, it might be a salesman's tactic to sale whatever is leftover or a fluky mistake but it was simply waste of time.

Vehicle is still currently for sale today but with different millage now? Pictures are also updated which shows more cosmetic flaws of the vehicle. Anyways to give them the benefit of doubt, I'm sure they're an "average service" dealership at best? but if you insist to look at their cars, make sure they know which one specifically in their inventory before you head out there or TIME will be WASTED

Blong Vang is one of the friendliest and most honest salesman I have ever met. He is extremely knowledgable and helpful. If customer service is as important as a good price you won't be disappointed. Thanks for everything Blong!

After being treated like a joke by both the Sales and Service Departments I will not be giving Carlson Toyota any of my business in the future. I was merely attempting to use the Interior Protection Plan that the Sales Representative sold me at the time of my new vehicle purchase. It is now obvious that I was merely a sale to them in order to meet a quota. The product was sold to me with very different requirements then they apparently require in order to utilize the Protection Plan. After trying to fight them on it I was told that "I should have used common sense". That is not the way to keep a loyal customer. The small amount of communication that they actually provided was always later than promised and without any results. Very disappointed.

I was very excited to buy a vehicle they had. The sales associate was great. The sales manager was a jerk. Made me feel stupid.

Very pleasant experience, but it is always easier to sell a good product. Both the salesman and finance manager were very easy to work with. I found the dealership to be modern, friendly, and helpful.

We just bought our new Rav4 from Terri at Carlson Toyota and she was fantastic!!!! So friendly, funny, supportive and informative. She was honest and didn t pressure us into making a decision. She made sure we left the lot feeling confident in our purchase. We highly recommend her and the Carlson Toyota team.

Normally I would write a raving review because the service department at Carlson is very user friendly. However, on Thursday, September 13, I took my 2006 Prius in for a routine checkup which went much as normal with the exquisite service I usually receive. Later that day, I discovered that my navigational system in the Prius had stopped working. It had been working before I took it in. So Friday morning I took it back and told them the problem. Evidently, all they can do at the dealership is check whether it can play any DVD (which it cannot) and then tell me that the player is bad. They don't repair them at the dealership but they can get a quote from a subcontractor or order me a new replacement. What?????? Of course, I'm not going to spend that kind of money when I can go out and buy a state-of-the-art GPS system which has lifetime updating for under $300. Now I'm without a navigational system in my car through no fault of my own and no apology from Carlson for causing it to stop working.

THESE PEOPLE ARE SCAMMERS. My girlfriend bought a used car here a few months ago. The car had a completely broken and disconnected emergency brake but they somehow passed it in their inspection(incompetence). Got it fixed under warranty. Car broke down two days ago and now they say I need to pay $700 dollars to get the same thing fixed! Don't buy your cars here anymore. These people used to be respectable but now all they're doing is pushing defective and unsafe cars on people and making them bring them back for repairs when it breaks down a month later.

I enjoyed working with Jihan at Carlson Toyota. She was so easy to deal with and fun to visit with during the car buying experience. She took the time to explain all my features which I really appreciated too!
But the car was not cleaned. I was disappointed that the windows were so dirty that I could not see out of them on my way home and the floors were not vacuumed either. Because of that It ruined my great experience with the dealership.

I had set up a time to look at a car that had an online listing with Jihan. I arrived a bit earlier than I said I would be there to look at a car, but I was helped right away. The staff was helpful and the whole process was quick. From checking in to driving off the lot with the new car took only about an hour. The car was as described by the ad. Thanks!

I have never been to Carlson Toyota or have purchased a Toyota. My son told me about his good experience there so I went with him just to look around at what they had for a 2018 Sienna van. I went to the desk and asked Denis Baron for a Sienna brochure, which he got for me and he asked if he could answer any questions. Denis was knowledgeable, helpful and respectful. After we discussed the 2018 Sienna, Denis found me a 2019 with everything I wanted with a good price. My experience with every one else there was helpful and respectful as we went thru the process to sign for our vehicle. I would and have told others about my great experience at Carlson Toyota.

Way overpriced, but then again what dealership isn't.

Jihan Moore at Carson Toyota in Coon Rapids was my sale-woman, I am very ecstatic with the level of knowledge she had on my Toyota Camry. Her professionalism was out of this world, I found her to be very up front and honest. I have purchase a few cars in the past from other dealers, including my previous Toyota Camry and never walked away feeling as ecstatic has I felt this time around. Carlson has never failed to provide personalized, knowledgeable service and fair pricing. I purchased a Rav4 last month from Carlson. I was given an extremely generous offer on my 2010 Camry trade-in. Nicole Howard was a wonderful resource during the buying experience. She took time to teach me all the features of my new vehicle. Everything from seat adjustment to synching my phone to the vehicle's bluetooth - Nicole had me covered! In addition to her knowledge, she was also a wonderful, fun person with whom to interact. This dealership took a month to finally tell me that they wouldn t replace my black leather seat that was fading white on my year old 2018 RAV4. Then the service members I talked to were rude, continually cut me off, and kept telling me it was other people s fault they could fix it.

Had vehicle detailed and it was an A+++ job. Everyone from Scott, the service advisor to the cashier department was very professional. I would highly recommend Carlson.

Tim Froemming sold me my car, he was wonderful to work with. He took time to explain the options on the car after I bought it, which meant alot to me. I love my car and I had outstanding customer service.

It took 7 days to reprogramming a TCM. Which is 1 hour job. and charged about $400.00 labor. My car still not starting.

Scott (the service manager) is great to work with and they have always been accurate in their estimation of how long repairs will take. The service area has wi-fi which is critical for me to be able to work while I wait for cars to be serviced.

They could get 5 stars from me, but other Toyota dealerships in the area will vacuum out the car and give you a free car wash after service. Carlson doesn't do either of those things.

The sales process with straight and fast. No long sales pitches for add-on. I appreciated Denis' assistance and recommend Denis and Carlson Toyota.

Carlson Toyota has been the best dealership to work with when searching for and purchasing a new vehicle. Their sales staff and service staff are all top notch (especially Wendell and John in the sales department)! They spent a lot of time with me throughout the whole process and listened to my requests. Took car to have ac fixed, they wanted to replace compressor for 1800.00 took it somewhere else it wasn't the compressor. I took it to the dealership hoping they had the experience or knowledge to fix it they don't know what they are doing.

We have horrible experience at Carlson Toyota. Couple weeks ago my elderly father and I went to shop around for a new Camry for my sister. When we walk inside Carlson Toyota we were greeted by a woman name Amanda. We ask to work with a Hmong speaking sales representative since my father speak limited English and prefer to work with someone he can better understand the buying and negotiation process. We were told by Amanda that she sorry however Carlson Toyota does not have anyone speak Hmong and she will have Kelly help us. She introduce herself as one of the manager that she assure us that Kelly will take good care of us. Right after she said that not one but two HMONG salesmen walked by and greet us in Hmong. I looked at my father and thought to myself that this dealership is racist. Why can't they better service us. We just left Carlson Toyota without saying good bye. I am so disappointed since the twincities has a huge popular of Hmong and why are we being treated this way. They are loosing business because of what I've been through. I encourage my Hmong people not to go shop there anymore.

For me both my work employee benefits and AARP were suggesting I use TrueCar to determine the best price for a 2016 Toyota Highlander XLE AWD. The Highlander continues to have no incentives because of its popularity. The price I was emailed looked excellent but the only dealer in the Twin Cities area was Carlson Toyota in Coon Rapids. I took the quote and went to two other dealers much closer to my home. However, neither could even come close to the price offered by Carlson. In fact, the closest price was still almost $2000 more than Carlson Toyota. Driving up to Coon Rapids no longer seemed like a bother. When I got there, things continued to be even better. I worked with Brian Kime at Carlson Toyota and he made the entire buying situation an absolute breeze. What enjoyable man with whom to work. The Highlander came in earlier than expected which was another plus and going back to the dealer to work with Brian and now also with Mark from finance again was then most relaxing situation. My wife and I laughed and joked with the staff at Carlson Toyota as they patiently introduced us to our brand new Highlander. The entire experience has me telling others about Carlson Toyota and having me strongly considering now getting my next new car at Carlson when it is time to replace our other vehicle. Thank you Carlson Toyota, you are the BEST!!!!

I used the Costco Car Buying Program. I had a prompt response to my email and a prompt, professional, pleasant experience working with Vladimir Moukine in purchasing our Toyota Hybrid Highlander.

Tyler in service is the best! We were running late to catch a vacation flight so he sent someone to my house to pick up my car and it was finished before we got home.
Tyler is always polite and helpful.

Sales consultant, Jacob Schroeder, was so professional! He had the vehicle ready for us to test drive when we arrived, was very attentive, friendly, answered all our questions and went above and beyond to make sure we felt comfortable and was never pushy. I would return again to buy another vehicle just because of him! Thank you for giving my son and I great car shopping experience!

Just purchased a 2020 4Runner and it was the best car buying experience we ve ever had. Jake Schroeder found us exactly what we were looking for, within our price range. They had to move it from another dealer and it arrived ahead of schedule, and we were able to purchase the same day they received it. Very friendly, answered all of our questions, and not pushy at all. He went above and beyond in the customer service department. We will definitely be back for our next vehicle.

I am going to write a fair review of Carlson Toyota. What started out as a great experience had a snafu in the middle, but ended well overall.

Eddie was very helpful in sales and did not pressure me into a sale. He and the manager, Dave, worked wonders to get me into a new vehicle.

Unfortunately, 7 days after purchase, I had serious mechanical issues with my used vehicle. It was not certified, and I did purchase the extended warranty, so I am aware that they had no legal obligation to assist me. That said, on the basis of their 60-point inspection showing all was in good working order at the time of purchase, the engine not running was a bit of a surprise. Eddie was at first unsympathetic and said to go to a GMC dealer and it was a good thing I bought the extended warranty. He then said he'd check with his manager. I received a call from Austin in the service department who was not helpful at all and even after explaining the issue, I was instructed to drive it and call for a tow if it broke down. They could not work me in for an appointment until 10 days later on January 27th. That very night, it broke down on my way to my usual mechanic shop and they were shocked at how I was treated by Toyota service. The next day, I received word from Midas in Coon Rapids that the engine was without oil and the entire underside was covered in oil. They had contacted Carlson Toyota and the vehicle was taken back there.

Jeff in the service department called that day and was MOST helpful. He found the issue, a service bulletin for repair and brought it over to the GMC dealer. All things considered, be wary of the service department. The sales staff don't pressure you, which is great, and they did work to get me a deal with my negative equity, but I was treated quite poorly by some of the service department staff.

Worst place to buy toyota stuffs are not friendly at all when u look at all of them u feel like they can't wait till u live

This use to be the place to get your Toyota service but since they let Jeff the service manager go it s not worth coming here. Please and I mean PLEASE find a new Toyota Service Center!!! I know I will be going to a new dealership...

My salesman, Tim Froemming, was as an amazing car salesman as I ever encountered. He was the real deal. He was warm, genuine, considerate, down to earth,and low key: the kind of professionalism you would hope to get from your doctor or CPA. He made buying a car a really fun experience. I never felt there was even the slightest hustle or pressure to buy. Would go back to him to buy another car in a heartbeat.

Call to set an appointment. I got in on the day that works for me. I dropped off my vehicle for recall repair got a call when to pick it up. This place is awesome! I will definitely be purchasing my next Toyota from this location.

I had a great experience working with Larry to find me a Prius V in my price range. He was easy to talk to, laid-back, and knowledgeable.
The coffee and cookies provided in the waiting area were lovely.
On the other hand, the "hard sell" in the finance department for the warranty made me want to wrap up my experience more quickly. I just wanted to sign my papers, write a check, and go.
Overall, I'm glad I was able to get exactly the car I wanted from Carlson Toyota. It's a bonus it was certified pre-owned! :)

Susan and I both leased a Camry SE. I recently purchased a 2015 Toyota RAV4 from Andy Keating at Carlson Toyota. Andy is personable, professional, and knowledgeable. He originally introduced himself weeks ago while I was waiting for routine service on my older RAV4. I was not ready to buy at that time, but Andy politely followed up over several weeks. I knew what I wanted, and really appreciate that Andy listened to my needs and wants, and did not try to upsell me to a different Toyota model. He found the exact vehicle for me. Andy was well organized and provided a very efficient purchase process! It took me less time to purchase my car, than it did to get a new cell phone! I would recommend Andy to my relatives and friends without hesitation!

Amazing service from their technicians! They are truly well-trained professionals. We had our 10,000 oil change done at a different dealership and within 60 miles they were towing our car back because of their rushed service with no offer of compensation, and no car for over 30 hours- I never experienced that kind of service at carlson, they even washed the vehicle. I definitely will be back and will purchase from carlson in the future.

Great experience. I had been comparing light trucks for over a month and had a TrueCar price coming in. I pretty much knew what options and extra's I wanted. Andrew Hemmelgarn worked with me to finish out my purchase at the price I had. He listened well, asked good questions and kept me fully informed throughout the ordering and assembly process. The pick up day went well and quick.

Our family was making a big leap and going to a lease vehicle (which we have never done before) Nick Froemming made this experience so enjoyable, fun, and easy!!!
