From the minute we walked in we had a great experience with Carlson Toyota, and specifically with Larry. It took us a few days to decide on what we wanted, and Larry responded to my many email questions promptly. When we did decide, he found us exactly the vehicle we were looking for, and the process was seamless and quick. He sat in the vehicle with us and answered any questions and pointed out special features we might otherwise have overlooked for awhile. We highly recommend CarlsonToyota and Larry!

No pressure at all and was a very considerate,helpful and informative salesman. The vehicle was amazing and the sale from start to finish was over within an hour. Contact him for your next purchase. I had an issue with my Toyota Sienna and brought it in. I wont go into details but it was basically such a massive problem that it wouldnt have been cost effective to repair it. By the time we came to that conclusion I was already at the point of owing almost $1,400 in service bills. The issue was caused by bad gas and had nothing to do with the quality of my Toyota Sienna, which had been awesome the entire time I owned it. I started looking at the new cars with JR (great guy!) and found a 2018 RAV4 I liked. He worked with me on getting a great deal. In the meantime I had asked the service department (I was working with Scott, also a great guy) if they could shave some of the money I owed since I was buying a new car. I was hoping for a couple of hundred off. He came back and chopped it almost in half! This was my third car purchase from Carlson Toyota and all 3 have been positive experiences. The cars have also been very reliable. I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience! Thanks JR, Scott, and all at Carlson Toyota!

My husband and I have been Toyota owners for many years. The people in the service department are knowledgeable, friendly and helpful. When I walked into Toyota a couple of weeks ago to purchase a new or used vehicle, Gerry was honest and helpful. I really do not like pushy sales people and Gerry was a breath of fresh air with his knowledge. I enjoyed working with him.

I was still nervous about some missed detail that would cause the deal to unravel once I got to Carlson. To my extreme pleasure Brian made sure everything was equal or better than I had hoped. I love my car but the headaches with my salesman and service have made it so I will not be coming back. The promises that were made by both the salesman and the used car sales manager were not fulfilled. I do not recommend buying a car from here unless you feel like dealing with headaches.

On December 10 one of the employees loading cars onto a truck nearly caused an accident. You are supposed to stop and look before exiting a parking lot. Especially when the roads are nothing more than a pile of ice and snow. Instead the person came flying out of the parking lot and tried stopping in the middle of the road after I hit my horn to let them know I was there. Amazing how people who handle vehicles for a living do not know how to do so legally or safely.

I have been shopping seriously for a new vehicle for several days and I ended up using Truecar to get the best deal. Through TrueCar auto buying service, I approached Carlson Toyota and my entire experience from test driving myself and then bringing my wife to test drive few weeks later to the purchase was very smooth. Devin Roberts was helping me through out this process and he did a great job of walking me through the entire process. Devin was able to answer all my questions and my concerns. He also worked with me closely on the trade-in that I have. I can definitely say that Devin and the entire team at Carlson Toyota is very focused on the customer needs and did everything they can to help the customer.

I had a great experience buying a 2009 Toyota Camry ast week. Tim Froemmer was my rep, and he was so helpful, knowledgeable, professional and a really nice guy, too! He pulled the car inside so I could check it out during a rainstorm, we took it for a test drive and I was smitten! Then he walked me through all the steps to trade in my old Matrix, got me a decent rate on financing, and off I drove in an awesome car, just over an hour later. The battery had failed to start the car on numerous times and I had the charging system checked somewhere else and they did not get a definite answer on the problem though I sort of knew there were a couple diodes gone bad in the voltage regulator. Toyota checked and replaced the alternator though they were very busy. I simply gave them some time to work the job into their slack time if any. They were very cheerful and did a good job. Twice I have brought vehicles in for service in which something went wrong, and both times they made it right in the end.

The first was with our 2013 Sienna. After an oil change, there was some front-right damage. I was pretty sure the damage wasn't there before the oil change. We asked them about it, and they denied causing it. However, after we continued to press them on it a few more times, not only did they fix the damage for free, but they also fixed unrelated scratches on the right side at the same time.

The second was with our 2006 Prius. After an oil change, they said that he brake pads were nearly gone and needed to be replaced. I brought it back for the service. The next day the manager called to say that they had made a mistake. In reality, my brake pads were rather new and shouldn't have to be replaced for a while yet. The technician had used the measurement technique for my type of break pads. Of course they didn't charge me anything for bring in the Prius for this break pad replacement, but they also gave me a voucher for a free oil change.

I am happy to continue taking my vehicles there and am willing to (possibly) pay a bit more for their labor than other places charge because of their great customer service.

I went in for a oil change and told the rep/ lube tech about the constant smell of oil burning through my heater vents. This is the time of year when the month of February and March can't decide if it'll be winter or spring, so i constantly depend on my heat. The smell have gotten to the point where its so noticeable that my 4yr old complain too. The service advisor that was assigned to the task was Sean, great and knowledgeable toyota staff. He kept communication open, follow up on vehicle status and assured that all in good hands. My 2014 toyota tundra had a leak coming from the timing gasket. My truck went in for service February 27th 2017 and service completed on March 2nd 2017. Everything from the cylinder gasket, the cam shaft and timing cover gasket was all replaced. Sean and his team members did a fantastic job. I also went ahead and have toyota replaced my water pump on a really good deal. But sadly today March 6 2017 my Tundra once again headed in to Carlson Toyota @ 1030am for a leak "I thought it was an oil trans leak" but than again i gave Sean a call ahead and he told me to bring it in. MAN, was Carlson toyota busy or what or maybe it was just a monday, but Sean rescued the day and I didn't have to wait. Just because of that deal of not having to wait just made my day a positive outlook. Within 45 minutes my vehicle was diagnosed with a faulty water pump that was also replaced back on February 27th 2017 @ the same time i had the timing cover replaced. So the water pump is cover 100%, hopefully? Not sure what the warranty is on for the water pump, do tell? But the leak wasn't trans fluid as i thought. Both coolant and trans have the same color fluid. Sean and his team tackle the job and assured me that the vehicle will be completed by today March 6th 2017. The only request that can be an opportunity for Carlson toyota, which is after the sevice of each vehicle I would like to have the vehicle washed due to grease stained from the auto mechanic's hand. But all in a nut shell Carlson toyota get a 5*. And Im definitely recommending Sean to other folks. Great people skills, positive outlook for customer satisfication and a sense of urgency, "which got me in quick for service". Thank you.

Only reason I came was I had my truck serviced here previously and on my windshield oil change reminder an advertisement for a $21.95 oil change, no appointment necessary. Upon arrival I was notified that this was an "old price" and no longer valid. Took almost 2 hours for a simple oil change. I guess I'll ask how long it will take next time, except there won't be a next time! Also, you pay through the nose on non-Toyota vehicles.

Went to Carlson and bought a car there last Wed. We worked with Eddie. He was great but for some reason, they couldn't find one of the car keys and I left with only one car key. I was told by Eddie Y. that he would for sure get back to me no later than Saturday (6/20/15) about the missing car key. Well I didn't hear anything back and yesterday almost 1 week after buying the car, my husband had to follow up with Eddie. My husband was told it would probably take another day or two to look for the car key. Like really?? What dealership takes an entire week to look for car keys? If it's not there, tell the customer's the truth. I expect to hear back before the end of the week otherwise, we'll have to make another visit and get a new key.

Great place to buy a car but not for service. If your tech looks and sees the broken wire and the customer (me) already pulled the codes saying the wire is broken just replace the wire. Don t charge me $150 to pull the codes again and then test all the components involved and charge me for a new wire when you told me the tech soldered it. Extra diagnostics and part testing is just a way for you to make extra money off me. When I asked the service advisor after if he d be okay paying a large amount of money like that for a wire to be fixed he had nothing to say.

Our experience with Carlson Toyota and Brian Kime couldn't have been better. Brian called us promptly and was prepared and waiting for us at our appointed time. He knew his inventory well and was able to inform us about the vehicles on the lot that fit our criteria and the options each had onboard. I picked out the vehicle that I wanted and the dealership was willing to work with me on my trade-in. The paperwork was drawn up in a timely manner and we were on our way in our new truck. We couldn't be happier with our SUV purchased from Carlsons Toyota. They treated us very well with no hard sales. The place has good cars and trucks that are well kept and reliable. I don't believe they would sell a bad car or truck. It's clear from the moment you walk thru the door, they clearly care about their customers. The place is clean, well kept and everyone is very friendly. Our well dressed salesman was Theo Nwameme. He treated us more like a friend than a salesman. Tom White is the used car mngr. was just as friendly. Where do I begin? The sale person Sara was terrible at her job. She made my husband wait over an hour to do who knows what even though he had sent the paperwork far in advance. She had NO IDEA what was going on half the time. She told him mid-trip to driving seven hours there to get the car that they could no longer sell the car (even though they could and did). The finance manager was also terrible and surly, too. We had to repeatedly call them to A. fix our taxes on the deal (they charged us double AND then charged more taxes to our credit card), B. finish the paperwork, C. send us the Kindle that we PAID FOR and was in the contract, D. finish the process so we could get our plates... Which we still don't have and now the temporary sticker has expired.

Honestly, it was the worst experience my husband has ever had buying a car. Do I recommend them to anyone? No, not even my enemies deserve that sort of treatment.

I brought my car into them to get diagnosed because it wasn't running right I knew it wasn't the coils and told them that because I already tried that before I brought it in. Thay called the next day and said it was good to go it just needed an ignition coil so I brought them one of the original coils that I had just removed. they tried to tell me that the car was good to go, I insisted that it wasn't but they told me if it still acted up I would have to pay another $150 for another diagnostic. In the end I feel like I played them $150 to ignore me and treat me like an ideot. Now my car is still stalling at stoplights and still running like garbage

Do not do business with Carlson Toyota. In January of 2013 I purchased a 2010 Toyota Corolla from Carlson Toyota. On July 8, 2015 they reported to the Minnesota Department of Vehicle Services that they had the vehicle and it was flagged for "resale by a dealership."

This was only discovered as I was unable to renew my tabs online and the information was given to my by the MN DVS.

I was disappointed with my experience. When I asked to look under the hood before I purchased my vehicle the salesmen looked at me like I had a third head, and seemed offended. Who doesn't look under the hood when purchasing a vehicle? I purchased the minivan of my dreams, put gas in it and when I got it home noticed smoke coming out of the engine and it smelled like anti freeze.

When my boyfriend brought it in they found a place where anti freeze had pooled they cleaned what they called a spillage up and sent him on his way. It was still smoking. When my boyfriend got it home he found where it was leaking from and took a picture. I sent the picture to my mechanic and he said the place they cleaned up you could tell the antifreeze had been sitting there a long time and wasn't just spilled. Besides that was at the back of the engine and where you poor the antifreeze is located in the front. In my book that is a leak not a spill, as the pouring of said fluid was know where near the leak.

I brought it back the next day and was treated like I was dumb. They said they didn't know what I expected them to do as they did what they could already. I said I wasn't paying for and couldn't drive something that was steaming from the engine. Asked if they were interested in seeing the picture my boyfriend took of where it was leaking. Told them the antifreeze was low. I understand some people don't know the difference of looking at the full line that is provided for hot and cold engines, but I do know the difference and so when they asked me it only added to the you are dumb factor.

They did look at the picture of the part we said was leaking, and did say it was wet and that the antifreeze had gone down somewhat.... Too their credit they did say they would fix that spot and they gave me a car so I could get to work and back. They did fix it and none of the visits or the car rental was charged to me. I understand they didn't have to do that as I had bought the vehicle as is so they did make things right by me, but I didn't appreciate being made to feel dumb.

And I didn't like that the mechanics couldn't find the leak, my boyfriend is Not mechanically inclined and had no problem finding it. And had I not had the picture it wouldn't have gotten fixed..... I also had to take time off of work in the morning because they didn't fix it the first time when my boyfriend had brought it in, and that cut into time off that I had planned for the holidays as it is Christmas in a couple weeks.

I also am always disappointed that when others go into dealerships they never seem to pay sticker price, when I go in I always end up paying sticker price, and when I mention to any sales person that I want a deal am always told the sticker price is the best they can offer. And they look at me like I have 3 heads. Guess I am a bit dumb for just giving in and not wanting to push. But no matter where I go I always feel I have been gipped because I don't have those bartering skills. This last complaint is universal and has nothing to do with Carlson Toyota.

Buying a new car is exciting, but also nerve-racki...

Buying a new car is exciting, but also nerve-racking. Intimidating salespeople and huge loan payments are the things that trigger anxiety. Carlson Toyota put those fears to rest. Our salesman, Shaun McDade, willingly showed us a variety of cars and tolerated our many questions. After we made a decision, we were never pushed into getting those extra items that add up quickly. We left with a great little car and loan payments we can afford. Thanks.

This review is 15 days after my delivery of my brand new 2017 Toyota Tundra Pro in Cement Gray. I had previously looked at the Super White Pro at Inver Grove Toyota. Had I love the white color, I would've have purchased Inver Grove Toyota's truck.

My wife, my 9-month old, and myself visited Carlson Toyota on a less than busy Thursday night around 8 pm. We were casually dressed on a brisk but not chilly evening and proceeded to the truck. There were two salesman on the floor literally within 5 feet of us who were deep in conversation. My wife and I didn't mind, but we made note.

We inspected our future truck and I informed my wife of the various features that the truck did and did not have in comparison to her Toyota Sequoia. It was not until I lowered the tail gate and opened the doors to access the interior of the truck did the older male salesman take notice of my little family.

I knew more than the salesman about this truck - period. I just inquired about discounts, rebates, and incentives - if there were any. In the case on the Tundra pro, there were not. I obviously researched a lot about the truck and median prices within the surrounding areas and I found Carlson's price to be a little above the average, but I wanted this truck so be it. The only break we got was from film protection that the dealership had applied which consisted of a clear film on the front of the hood and the edges of the 4 doors. The salesman said he'd throw in some free hats ( which i'm still waiting for) as well.

My wife and I filled out the credit application and we could not take the truck home that night, because there were some issues and I did not have my down payment on person. fast forward 3 days to Monday and the salesman follows up with me for a plan. Salesman is off Tuesday which would give me time to get my down payment and credit application situation figured out and on Wednesday meet at Carlson and take delivery of the truck.

My wife and I figured everything out and got our down payment. We arrived first thing Wednesday morning to Carlson and salesman was not there. Though he need not be there, it would have been decent to at least be present for his sale. We signed the necessary paperwork, take my truck and go home. This process was painless and the finance representative did not try to push or sell us anything.

I later received a call from the salesman thanking me for my business. I thanked him for acknowledging us when we initially visited the dealership as well as his courtesy once he knew we were serious about buying the truck.

Later in the day, I couldn't find the wheel lock key for the lug nuts. I looked everywhere and so I gave the salesman a call. He said he'd find out and will give me a call back. To this day he never called back. Luckily the key was zipped tied to the wheel jack kit hidden behind the rear passenger seats.

So in summary:
Two stars because of the truck and speediness of the finance process.
Carlson was lucky they had this truck in this color but, I bought my truck, I did the salesman's job for him, he was lucky he acknowledged us initially. The salesman sucked at following up with me unless he got something out of it. I've since removed the dealership's vinyl sticker on my tailgate as well as tossed their plastic license plate frames with the dealership name on them. I shall take my future business, my ToyotaCare, my future parts order, and my future service elsewhere.

I worked with Denis and J.R. at this dealership. Denis came in on his day off and showed me the car, and J. R. assisted with the pick up of the car. Both of these sales people went above and beyond in service and professionalism. In the future, I will only buy my Toyotas from Carlson Toyota.
