We had an awesome experience at Carlson Toyota! Our sales person Joshua was excellent! He spent hours test driving cars with us to make sure we got the one we wanted. We bought a brand new Camry and are thrilled with the car and the whole experience.

Andy provided great customer service! I had called ahead about a vehicle and he had it ready and greeted us while we walked in. He was easy to talk to and calm. I would highly recommend him as a salesman..no pressure. Paul was also awesome! He tried his best to get us the best rate he can. Definitely better customer service than Luther (who we went through previously)!

An amazing vehicle and an amazing vehicle purchasing experience. Hands down the most fun I've ever had buying a vehicle.

We used the Costco program to purchase a 2019 Corolla. Our initial impression was that this was going to be a wonderful experience. We submitted our request and were contacted right away by Mike Anderson. He was eager to set up an appointment which we did for 4:00 p.m. (the time he picked, not me). When we arrived, Mike was too busy to meet with us so we were handed off to another salesperson named Mike. The second Mike helped us and we decided to purchase. Because we were making a cash purchase, we requested the weekend to get the finances in order so we set up an appointment to return on Tuesday to pick up the car. We assumed it would be a quick in and out because they had the whole weekend to prepare the car. Neither Mike A. or the second Mike mentioned that Tuesday was a bad day for the dealership because they had sales associate training. So, when we arrived for our appointment, no one was available to help us. We waited an 1 1/2 hours to make a cash purchase that literally took 5 minutes. During that time, we were handed off to yet ANOTHER salesperson (Theo) AND when we finally saw the car, they had put on the Carlson sticker when we had specifically asked that it not be put on the car meaning it took even more time while we waited for it to be removed. I have rarely felt so frustrated with a business. They could have easily given us a better time (we were flexible) or Mike Anderson or another manager should have and could have broken away to meet with us. And where was the "finance guy" (i.e., person who took our check . . . we suspect he went to dinner while we sat in the lobby). Costco expects more of this dealership and so did we.

This is the third Toyota we purchased from Carlson Toyota and the second one that we worked with Bo Brown on the purchase. Bo was so helpful with our previous purchase that we asked for him specifically to help us with the purchase of our new Camry. I would recommend this dealership to friends and family when in the market for a new vehicle. We have had our Santa Fe since 2004 and I needed for my new job. Shopped around for a couple months and via the internet and thought we would look at a Corolla. Wife's side of the family have been Toyota buyers for years. Walked into Carlson Toyota and was greeted by Yer. I had the print out from their website and she was very helpful with our purchase. She didn't try and "Sell us up" to something we didn't want. The over all experience was non-stressful, except when the wife saw the car for the first time and there was a scratch on the drivers door. They offered us a loaner car while it was in the shop but we didn't need one. Picked up the car and Yer went through everything with the wife plus the door looked perfect. Very pleased and will be back for our next vehicle. Thanks!

This is our second Toyota vehicle purchased with Andrew Hemmelgarn. He is straight forward, honest, and not pushy at all. He wants to make sure you purchase the vehicle that is best suited for you. I ve been very loyal to Carlson Toyota over the past 7 years. I ve purchased 3 vehicles and done all my maintenance at there service department. In the last year they don t seem to want you to do your maintenance with them. It s to bad but I will find another dealership that wants my business.

Carlson Toyota staff are always very courteous and explain clearly the work that is done.

Was told the vehicle I bought had 30k left on the tires. 3 mo later tires blew out. Here now getting new tires, three hours layer they still aren't done and I was told they are now rushing to get it complete. First I was told the tires were in stock, then got here and they weren't. Then I was told they were going to get the tires and had already left. An hour after that I am told they decided to have them delivered because it would be "faster" now an hour later my vehicle is still not done. Obviously this establishment doesn't value training or their customers time

This is the 2nd time I have leased a vehicle from Carlson Toyota. The first time I worked with Preston, and so was very pleased that he would again be my sales person for this new lease. The process was easy, and the final result was very satisfactory.

The customer service and mechanics have no respect for customers vehicles here. I ve had numerous complaints and they just seem to shrug their shoulders. I brought my car in for an oil change and few months later my car had no oil. Luckily they fixed the mistake on their end. When I entered my car my cabinet was on the floor (must of happened when checking cabinet filter). When I brought it up to them there was no concern. I ve had issues where mechanics blast my stereo and upon entering the vehicle they left it with the volumn up. My car is a newly bought in 2014 and had two major leaks after leaving the dealership. Transmission and an oil leak. One time I left the dealership after my 4th or 5th service I was surprised my car was clean (washed). When I asked the front desk next time they stated the car is suppose to be run through the car wash after each service. I told them it was my 4th - 5th time at the same location and this was my first time recieving a car wash.

I was moral support for my cousin who was purchasing her first car. I had the pleasure of meeting Terri who assisted her with everything. She stayed late to wait for my cousin to get off work to make sure she got the car she picked out. She s amazing!! It was more like a friend helping us buy a car and that helped with the pressure of the process. Thank you Terri

Arrived early for my appointment but they took me right in. I love the waiting area including the free water (or coffee) and cookies. The chairs are very comfortable and the staff very helpful and kind. They always end your service call by washing your car. I love coming to Carlson Toyota!!

May 25, 2016 - Hi, it's me again - Donna. Just had my Toyota Camry serviced again at Carlson Toyota. Checked in at my appointed time, was actually escorted to the service desk, dropped of my keys, got a cup of their awesome coffee (and of course a cookie), and sat down to read. I really look forward to these visits because it is like a little get-away. 10,000 mile service completed in 45 minutes - car washed and I was on my way. I LOVE Carlson Toyota!!

Fine, you've got a new location the place looks nice. But wow, this place is overpriced, unreasonable, costly and filthy waiting area. Before moving I was a great customer after moving to Rochester and back to the cities I even came out to Coon Rapids to check them out. Not only was I in the market for a new car, but needed an oil change. List of events:

1. Called for appointment - They don't do appointment.
2. Came in dropped off the car hoping to check out another one - must have been lunch time, no one around.
3. I walked around for half hour - had a cookie and water sat down by their "computer area" It was nice I had my ipad with me but online 1 chair for 4 spots. And the table we filthy.
4. I had a little ringer thing they gave me and the oil change was $40 bucks!

Here's the conclusion. They built this unimportant large facility to hold vehicles and not push cost on to YOU! Absolute arm and a leg, highway robbery at it's best. There's a Midas down the street $25 bucks.

Bo is extremely knowledgeable on the Toyota product line and thoroughly explained all the benefits and features of the SUV we were interested in. He has a great personality is was enjoyable to work with. Carlson is very fortunate to have sale representatives of Bo's caliber.

Carlson Toyota is the best dealership I've ever done business with. After a horrific experience with an absolute lemon Chevy Traverse and having to endure extremely poor service from GM/Chevy who clearly don't care about their customers, Carlson Toyota saved the day! Brian Kime in sales and leasing was phenomenal. There was no pressure, he worked tirelessly to get me exactly what I wanted right down to last detail, and I got a great deal on a 3-year lease. Customer satisfaction is clearly the highest priority. I am now driving a beautiful 2016 Highlander, and I couldn't be happier! Everyone I came in contact with from the sales floor to finance were respecful, fun, and easy to work with. In addition, the facility and showroom is beautifully kept and they truly care about the comfort of the customer. I have and will continue to recommend Brian Kime and Carlson Toyota to everyone I know. We are now without a doubt a Toyota-driving family and I'll never buy a car from any other dealership! Kelly Rogers officially brought us back to Carlson Toyota! She is INCREDIBLE! We have been going to Carlson Toyota for 10+ years buying and leasing numerous new vehicles with Gary Janicoula and had FABULOUS service...then he retired...we lost him and a lot of the GREAT service and perks that we had gotten at Carlson.

We were ready to trade in the Sienna for a new one and almost went to a Toyota dealership farther away, but on a whim, I swung in to see what they had to offer. Kelly was waiting on an appointment, but totally took me on! She was so cheerful, bubbly and has a fantastic personality - NOT pushy at all...just extremely informative! This is a view of my experience with Carlson Toyota, its been horrible! The last 4 times were the worst . My wifes 2016 Camry battery failed, I had it checked out and it was not able to take a load. Told the customer service manager that I had issues with their service in the past and I explained what the problems were in the past. I knew that the battery was bad and needed to be replaced. After waiting for some time the service rep. told me the battery was checked out and was good. I explained to him again that he battery needed to be replaced, and he had better have mechanic check it out again. He later came back and said that the battery was bad and needed to be replaced!! In the past I have had my wifes car in for the Toyota new car reccomend service .twice they didn't do what is required. I marked the tires to make sure that they rotated them. They were checked off that they were rotated but were not! This was the second time that they had not done what they said they did. There is more to issue that I have had with Carlson in the past, every since the change they made a few years ago. My family and neighbors have bought many Toyota's from Carlson toyota in the past starting back many years ago, but we will no longer be buying more cars from Carlson!!

Larry was a great salesmen who made leasing my first car a great experience. He made sure to make it less stressful and made sure I liked the car I chose. I didn't feel pressured to choose a specific car and he found a way to make the car fit my budget! After I chose the car I liked, he made sure to teach me about all the details before I left the dealership.

We were looking for a late model used Prius. We had 100's to compare from the various websites that advertise the available cars, so we had a good idea of what we wanted and what a fair price would be. We bought a new Prius last year at a dealer that was more in our neighborhood, but we also dealt with Carlson specifically Wendell Harren, before making that decision.

When we saw exactly what we were looking for being advertised at Carlson it was great to have someone you had already dealt with there to help you with the sale. We got a very nice Certified used Prius at a very fair price and even got a low interest rate loan from Toyota that I wasn't expecting.

We are very happy with the car, it is performing even better than I expected.

I worked with Jihan to try to find me a vehicle outside of the Toyota family and she was very easy to work with and knowledgeable on what I was looking for. Highly recommend her!

Just purchased a 2014 Toyota Camry through Nick at Carlson Toyota. Nick was very helpful and did not pressure me at all. When I mentioned that I like the option of heated seats but could not afford the more expensive model with heated seats he gave me a great price on getting the driver's seat heated. I purchased a brand new Toyota Camry from Carlson in 2009 and was very pleased that I was able to find a used car here at a reasonable price.

Told them the vehicle shimmy's at 65-70MPH - he says, "what do you think it is?"
Tire balance? Alignment? Maybe? - he says, "should we start with an alignment for $79.95?"
Start? I went there because I wanted THEM to tell ME whats wrong and they couldn't/wouldn't do it!
Scheduled an appointment with Mr. Tire to have them balance the tire for $15

We finally found a car and everyone is happy. Marty Lang was a very knowledgeable salesperson and everyone else we worked with were very nice and friendly.

I was treated very well at Carlson. I am very confident in the sales people who helped me and the Prius I bought at Carlson.

Eddie is straight forward, no nonsense rep. That does his very best to do right by his customer.

Carlson is hard dealership to negotiate with. Do not expect to get a bargain basement deal there. But they will work with you, if you stick to so your guns you can get something there at a fair price.

At $37k (Tax and license included) the Tacoma they found for me is way more truck than I need, but I am extremely happy with it nonetheless.

First time here. Things went pretty smooth besides the fact they damaged my front plate, but everything was great. Will I be back? Sure.

We recently purchased a 2011 RAV4 and had a relaxed experience with Andy Keating. Andy was very friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and made it a painless purchase. He went beyond expectation getting the RAV ready for delivery on the coldest day of the year. We bought our first RAV4 new from Carlson in 2006 and will continue doing business with them in the future and telling our friends.

Carlson Toyota why do you always have a selection of new sales people? Where are the ones who s sold me the car from the get go? I recently purchased a new vehicle from Jihan. Jihan provided exceptional service and was a joy to work with.

I used TrueCar to get multiple offers and end up purchasing through Carlson Toyota from Preston. He had the lowest initial offer. That's important to me because they put their best foot forward so to speak. I didn't want to deal with a dealer who just states we'll beat any dealer's offer. Preston was easy going, communicative to my emails, and got me in to a great new 4runner.

Very good at finding the issue with a very intermittent ignition problem. Extremely fair regarding price of part and its installation cost. Punctual with the arranged appointment time. Comfortable and roomy waiting area.

I worked with Sheila Pierson at Carlson Toyota in Coon Rapids for approximately one week prior to purchasing my new 2017 RAV4 Hybrid. She was extremely knowledgeable and professional throughout the process, communicated with me after hours and on her days off as well. There was no pressure and the final price was more than fair. In the end she was also extremely helpful in getting a refund from Toyota for the Auto Show participation. Our experience at Carlson Toyota was very positive. Our sales rep, JR May was easy to deal with, transparent, responsive, accommodating and a true professional. We felt a little rushed at the closing and signing of the paperwork lacked transparency. JR helped clarify some of the concerns we had a couple of days later in a follow-up call. I would highly recommend JR May as a point person when buying a new car at Carlson Toyota.

This was, hands down, the best car-buying experience I've ever had. Shaun Mcdade was patient, thorough, and extremely helpful. The entire Carlson team went above and beyond. I felt like everyone was honest and transparent without ever veering off into condescension. I'd recommend this dealership over every other Toyota dealership in the Twin Cities area.

If you're looking for a dealership where the salesman throws a tantrum because you want to look at another vehicle, this is your place! My husband and I went to test drive a vehicle we have been considering, first time actually driving this model. The car was nice and clean but we had another vehicle elsewhere we also wanted to check out. So Kevin, the salesmen runs some numbers with our trade in and shows us a printout of these numbers. I told him we want to think about it. He goes and gets our car keys, comes back with another offer, 1k additional on our trade, but only if we commit right then. I told him that I was not ready to buy that moment and needed to think on it. He then got upset, "You're going to turn this down,really?". I told him yes, I want to look at another vehicle. I said thanks and was ready to leave, so my husband was going to grab the offer form (the one for 1k less, that was initially presented) Kevin then snatched them out of his hands and walked away. It was incredibly rude and honestly felt like a child who just got told no. I went outside and looked for my car, could not find it after walking around looking in the cold. So I had to go back in and ask and was then walked through a back hallway to my vehicle behind the building. there is no way I would have been able to find on my own, but he didn't even tell me where to go. I've never had such unprofessional service and its actually comical how childish Kevin acted. I will never go there and will continue to tell people of Kevin's horrible customer service.

Was fortunate to have Cole help us with the purchase of our Camry. Cole greeted us in a professional manner, he continued to impress us with his patience, positive nature & charming personality. Made purchasing our vehicle both enjoyable and stress free.

We are mostly pleased with the vehicle we bought at Carlson Toyota, and it has nothing to do with the features on the vehicle we have. We specifically wanted Lane departure on the vehicle we purchased and were told by two sales people involved in helping us that that it was one of the safety features on the vehicle, and in addition we were told that the vehicle had the dynamic radar cruise control and the pre-collision system. We confirmed several times that these systems were on the vehicle and the sales people explained how they worked .The vehicle has some nice safety features, but none of these are included. The information we were given was wrong. The vehicle is paid for now and driven away from the dealership, so it's ours now. I called the sales person, and after I explained that this van didn't have those features. She got back to me and explained that the 2017 vehicles don't have these features. When I told her I wasn't satisfied, she said I hear you, perhaps we would be interested in trading it in on a 2018. We have a lot of non-refundable costs in fees, taxes, and Warranties etc. which preclude another purchase in a few weeks. I would be tempted to rate it a 1, but there were other aspects of the transaction that went very smoothly.

Buying a car is an experience from the moment the front desk person says hi to the moment the papers are signed. Walking in, the place was busy and we were fortunate enough to talk with Gino, a salesman who seemed to really want to help customers. After test driving a few vehicles we decided on a Camry however there was a concern about the vehicle that we wanted checked out before signing papers or agreeing on anything - the wheel alignment. In comes TJ, a manager, who was very aggressive and demeaning to us. He wanted us to agree to buy the vehicle before checking the alignment, and was aggressive when it came to asking how we were going to buy the vehicle. He tried to make it seem we were foolish to ask him to check something on a used vehicle (yes, a year old vehicle with 20k miles is used). TJ wasn t even a finance manager per the salesman so we were unsure why the hostility. Either way, because of TJ s hot headed ness we decided to head to another dealer that is friendlier and easier to work with. Because of our personal experience, and experience from extended family at this location, we will never set foot inside Carlson Toyota again.

I talked to Amy in service. She was rude as they get. They scheduled a tow for my vehicle for 5 at night. I got a call at 10:15 PM from tow truck company asking if I still need a tow! Obviously they never showed. I am a business owner and would never ever ever ever treat prospective clients in the manner I've been treated. Needless to say, I'm talking my business elsewhere.

We just bought a 2017 Prius from Carlson with the help of Denis Baron. We are very happy with the car. We also very much enjoyed working with sales representative Denis Baron. He is knowledgeable and patient. It was a pleasure to deal with him. We will be back for a second car within a year or so and plan on looking him up. Thanks Denis.

I was able to trade in my old lease and get a new lease at a really great price and Preston was my go-to guy both times! He was willing to go and get me the best deal he could and made the process so extremely smooth! I would recommend him and his sales team over anywhere else!

Larry our salesman did an amazing job I gave him a call looking for a vehicle he had it pulled up and ready to go before I got there. He was knowledgeable. He wasn't pushy and he took my wife needs and wants as a priority since this car was for her. After buying he spend quality time to go through the vehicle which was great. You need some who cares what you want and do what he can for you and answer any questions without being pushed into anything ask for Larry.

Worst Sales and Service I have ever experience. Overpriced, unfriendly and inexperienced describes both their sales and service techs.

I had a great experience with minimal haggling for a used Toyota Tacoma pickup. I worked with Vladimir Mounkine, and he was very attentive to our needs and customer satisfaction. I would shop with Carlson Toyota again (and this comes from a 20+ year Honda family).

Is there a way to give negative stars?? I guess since I m a biker I must not have the money to buy a new car... I waked in knowing which model of car I wanted to look at and was instantly told I should get a model up for 8+ thousand more.. I stated many times that I m looking for a commuting car not anything more... after about 40 min of wondering around the back lot per sales mans instructions (while he helped other customers I later found out) where I was told the model I was looking at were parked. Another salesman did try to help and found out what key was needed and went to get that key (seemed to be a nice guy)the first salesman finally came with the key so I could test drive the car.. well no test drive due to a new car having a dead battery...(really??) I will go to maplewood Toyota tomorrow after work for my test drive... I hope to have better luck

This is the second time I ve gone through Toyota when leasing a vehicle. Tim Froemming has been awesome both times. Always greets you with a smile and is professional. When I first went to Tim I wasn t sure if I d want to continue driving a car or switch to a suv. When making my decision Tim was very helpful and answered all my questions. I can be indecisive and he was patient with me the entire process. When I m done leasing this vehicle I plan on buying one from him also! Great guy, highly recommend!

Update: It's been about a year since purchasing a Camry from Larry Cooley. I went back into the dealership to get some info on a possible trade in (nothing wrong with the car, love the Camry). It was the last day of the month and everyone was clearly very busy.
