We booked our tour right after booking the holiday. Once we arrived at the destination we were told the half day tour is no longer available and we have to upgrade to a full day tour. We were also told the price of our half day tour is worth much less so we would pay more for the upgrade. We decided to go with another company and Nexus has not issued us a refund. I will never book with Nexus again.

Well, the video, regardless of being a DVD movie that practically no one uses it, is more my laptop or carry a reader, is a video with two films, a promotional of the Dominican Republic and another of the excursion where no I appear even 2 minutes.
It seems to me that if a company wants to be serious it should eliminate all these types of aggregates that end up leaving a bad taste in the mouth to those we have hired with them.

Run away from these dream sellers, especially "Andrea" in the Hilton la Romana hotel in Bayahibe!

They will tell you repeatedly to never take your excursions outside the hotel as it is dangerous is risky for you and your health but it is completely untrue.

The person named Andrea told us that there was going to be storms and that we had to book Saona with them as soon as possible in the end it was a lie they also told us that Safari with him we would visit local market schools , which we did not do with the other excursions when this is completely false we experienced it for ourselves and we visited the same things for 30% cheaper elsewhere! If I can advise you only one thing is to go directly through "Ryana sun" this sound the best in the field of excursions on bayahibe. And their price and cheaper than nexus !!! Nexus only wants to make money! He laughs at your experience !!!

No delay to deplore (as mentioned in the previous comments). We booked an excursion to Santo Domingo during our vacation in Punta Cana. The bus met our expectations, spacious, modern and clean. The guide, Andres Mota, spent the day juggling between English, French and Spanish. The guide and driver were quite friendly. As for the program, this is what gives them this missing star. We would have liked a more authentic excursion, such as a distillery visit or a cigar factory. It should be noted that certain stops are made so that the tourist spends in certain shops. I can easily imagine that there is a deal between Nexus Tours and certain merchants. Nevertheless, the overall quality / price ratio is correct. In addition, given the comments above, I will not book for an excursion to Saona Island, the opinions seem more than mixed.

Just had a horrible experience with this company ruined 1 of precious 6 days of holidays. We booked an excursion for 8am planned our whole day around this show up to go on the tour and it canceled with no warning. They said we would get an email if there were any changes we did not. This company is poorly organized!!!!

Went on a buggie excursion and paid for the picture package we were told it be sent to our email later in the day so we waited n we received pictures of another family we went back to our nexus representative at Chic and he made calls but nothing ever came of it he also asked my husband if he could have his cologne which seemed odd like if he was only willing to help if my husband gave his expensive cologne to him! I enjoyed all of our excursions but seriously feel screwed out of the pictures we paid for so if u decide to use nexus don t pay for the pictures they take on the excursions

The excursions were good, but there were things that were planned that we did not do. Above all, pay attention to what the people in charge of your care in the country tell you. We had ROMINA, and she lied to us about the amount of cigarette and alcohol to bring back, probably to sell the duty free airport. We were stopped by the customs on our return and we gave up at all. Without refunds of course. Just for this lie, I will not recommend NEXUS TOURS to friends, and I even ask them to pay attention. Disappointing! We bought the Tour to Santo Domingo...

Disappointing! We bought the Tour to Santo Domingo, to visit five monuments and we were only in three. Our main objective was to know the Cathedral of Santo Domingo and arriving there we could not enter because it is a Thursday holiday. Almost all shops closed. No one warned us that it would be a holiday and almost everything would be closed. The guide had knowledge of the way, but did not organize well, because we could not visit everything that was proposed and yet, I saw him without patience with a lady of the group. At lunch, I missed dessert and went without. Upon informing, on these issues, to the company representative at the hotel, he said he had nothing to do, because we were already leaving the hotel. False Advertising and Irresponsible Company - I booked a group excursion for my wedding party and was promised that I would getting the catamaran with the net in front. When we got to the place of excursion, the boat did not have a net and they had already taken us out to sea even though I specifically requested to not move until I could speak to a representative. It's been a little over a month since we returned from Punta Cana and SUNWING resolutions finally got back to us with our complaint telling us that there is NOTHING that they can do and that the excursion was 100% non-refundable - they never gave us what we specifically requested for even though they said that they would (I specifically told them I would only book if the catamaran had a net at the front). I would NEVER recommend anyone to book with SUNWING/NEXUS TOURS for any excursion - they falsely advertise their excursions and services to trick your money. They have dishonest business practices and they completely ruined our wedding vacation.

I bought the roundtrip transfers via Takeoff then directing to nexustours. For IDA, no complaints. They were waiting at the departure of the flight, van in good condition, without any complaints. For the return, really quite complicated. My scheduled transfer time is at 6pm, with a tolerance (informed on the voucher) of 20 minutes. I waited for 40 minutes, and no one showed up. I called the contact phone (international call) and was informed that it was scheduled for 19:10 (more than an hour after my voucher). I kept waiting ... The transfer was to my hotel at 19:40, without any explanation. There were no other passengers on VAN, so it was no problem at previous hotels. The price is quite fair, however, for this headache, I would not recommend it.

Nexus Tours was unable to provide transportation service ordered from Airport Punta Cana to Royalton Bovaro and back. First they drive us to different hotel, on way back they tried to pick up our family from wrong hotel 5 hours prior to the flight. No apologise from Nexus Tours Royalton Bovaro for poor service. Recommend to avoid ordering/paying transportation service from this company in advance.

Booked these tours through Sunwing and they were excellent. Timing and organization was perfect. We were picked up at our hotel and brought to a middle meeting point where we boarded a comfortable coach bus with AC and USB ports (on select buses).

Saona island: tour started at 7am and ended around 5pm. Absolutely recommend this tour. You will be on a catamaran and speed boat. There is no indication which you ll do first but it doesn t really matter. Doesn t affect your experience. If you get there faster in the morning, you have a slower comfortable trip back where you can drink and dance. Saona island is breathtaking and you make a quick stop to a lagoon where they have starfish. 12 years ago you could pick up the starfish and take pictures with them but they are now protected (rightfully so) because tourists were killing them so they re harder to spot. Still a lovely stop for snorkeling. Make sure to bring biodegradable sunscreen, hat, bathing suit, money, towel, change of clothes and snorkeling gear.

Santo Domingo: thanks to a new highway it takes 3 hrs to get to the capital in comparison to 10 hrs (12 years ago). This tour is so well planned. You start at a park where you explore los tres ojos (3 caves) which care STUNNING. This alone makes the tour worth it. Then you explore Santo Domingo. There is some walking and stairs so you ll get your daily steps in but it wasn t exhausting. You explore Diego Garcias home and some spots in Santo Domingo. Lunch was delicious and the venue where we ate was clean and beautiful. We had servers and a specialty fruit punch (no alcohol). Then there s a train tour of the city with a recorded audio that highlights and explains different sites. End of the tour gives you time to go shopping for souvenirs. Don t do all your shopping at the first store cause you get to walk the streets.

The truth is that companies like that ruin the holidays ... we hired the company with private transportation for four people. They force you to attend a meeting with a representative at your hotel in the morning, to coordinate the return, and the only thing they do is sell you ... you lose beach time ..
To the previously coordinated return they NEVER SEARCHED us for the hotel ... they did not answer our call ... they did not give us any answer ... we paid 40 dollars to get to the airport and in the offices they did not answer ... they play with the times of boarding .. NO THE CONTRACT ...
They steal tourists' money ...

When making reservations for the expeditions made to ask sunwing staff to first check if there is room for the date you want because they charge you and then they realize there is no no place for the time or date you want and refuses to reimburse you because of their "politics". They made mistakes on 2 of the 3 expeditions we made. Have literally lost 2 before midday of our trip because of that.

I recommend to everyone. A previous comment mentions customs standards for the purchase of alcohol and / or tobacco. Honestly I am sure this is not how Ruben Gutierrez would like people representing his company to treat his customers. If I don't get a response I for sure will continue the Pursuit to be heard, to speak with someone about my issue using Nexus leaving the Dominican republic. I have used this company before and had a good experience, I think mainly because my questions was understood and answered. My FIRST problem is that I was giving an orange folder when I got to Punta Cana by a gentleman that barely spoke any English whatsoever. Anyhow I looked through the package and it was a bunch of brochures nothing about pick up time or a meeting that was suppose to happen the day after arrival. Today is the day of departure and I have spoken to a representative at the front desk around 9am to find out what time my husband and I will be picked up and they directed me to a corner which had dated flight information for the 17th and the 18th.( Today's date the 20th). So that was no help. We then tried to locate someone with the Nexus shirt on and when we did that was not helpful at all he had no information and asked that I walk around to the show room I MIGHT find someone that can help. As we was about to walk the gentleman came around and after explaining to him that we just need to know what time our transport arrive he told us that it came already and waited 15 min for us then left. I then asked did anyone give a Courtesy call to our room he said he did which was an absolute LIE because we was in our room the entire time until we came back down to check again about what time we are suppose to leave. I tried calling a few numbers to speak with someone about what have happened and keep getting people that speak Spanish. I am out 45 dollars for a taxi fare but I am mostly annoyed that I can not get in contact with someone that can ensure this does not happen to someone else. Smh overall a great trip and it take this to put a damper on the entire experience.

Do not use this company. We have just returned from the Dominican Republic and had booked 4 trips with Nexus. The first trip, our names were not on the list (even though we had booked weeks in advance), so we spent an anxious 10/15 minutes waiting until the driver made phone calls to sort it out. The next trip was cancelled on the morning of the tour and we were told we could rebook for the next day. The third tour was completely cancelled. I have spent hours, both on holiday and since I have returned trying to sort out the problems not to.mention the stress and wasted time on our holiday. I hope this review prevents another family from having to endure the upset which which we experienced on holiday.

We spent the whole day standing in the rain with storm protecting ourselves with our beach towels that were soaked of course !!! The team spent the day between them without worrying about us !!! It's a shame!!!! I was even insulted by a photographer because I did not want to buy the 10 pictures he had made of us at 70th !!!! This agency is fleeing

If you are interested in booking an adventure I would not do so with nexus. We dealt with Jairo who refused to provide any refund after my girlfriend became ill the morning of the adventure. Jairo was unprofessional, dismissive, and expressed no sympathy in our matter. As you know, tourists are very susceptible to becoming ill quickly and unexpectedly. The fact that nexus is not understanding to this makes them unprofessional. There are better alternatives. Please stay away.

My husband and I used Nexus to get us from the Punta Cana airport to our resort and we didn t have any problems. However, our trip from the resort to the airport was a disaster. My husband was given a receipt by a nexus employee with our resort pick up time of 10:30 am. Well by 11 am we were still sitting in the lobby at our resort, waiting. My husband decided to walk over to the Nexus desk in the lobby to find out where our driver was. Once there, he was told that our pick up time was actually 12:30 and not 10:30 and that the representative (Vladimir) had made an error in our departure time. They offered to let us have our room back for the next couple of hours but we had already checked out of our room and were in street clothes, not swimwear! We won t use them again.

We booked a tour in flight and was told to see a representative at the hotel to be booked for the excursion. The cancellation policy on the receipt from the airline is 48 hours before the tour however when we booked with the sunwing/nexus representative Charles he made a rebooking giving us a different cancelation policy (NO REFUNDS) without our knowledge or telling us that's what was done.
When we tried to cancel they told us we need a doctor's note in order to cancel. This is underhanded, misguided and downright dirty work. As of the 27th when this trip ends sunwing will no longer be on my list of tour operators to handle my yearly vacation or boys trip.
P.S. the RIU BAMBU Punta Cana is very underwhelming and does not live up to what I expected for a hotel with such a world renound name.

Do not use this company!!!! We booked a trip with George from Le Sivory in Punta Cana. He gave us his cell phone number Incase we needed to cancel or reschedule our excursion. We tried contacting him several times and could not get ahold of him. When we finally saw him at the resort he told us that we needed to do that with 24 hours notice to receive the partial refund. After telling George that we had tried contacting both him and the business he said ohh sorry it s too late and you will not be receiving and refund. This was booked at Le Sivory in Punta Cana. Vacationers beware of both Nexus and Le Sivory, you will be highly disappointed in both companies!!

Nexus tours has very poor customer service and doesn t take ownership for the errors that occurred due to their mismanagement of booking. Booked 1 hour horse back riding tour in Punta Cana (from Nickelodeon resort), which included transformation. Pick up from hotel was 30 mins late and after tour was over, they made us wait for over 2 hours to get driven back to the hotel (which was 15 mins away). David (tour guide) kept on saying that car will be there in 5 mins. Was even willing to take taxi myself but there were no taxis available. Instead of returning to hotel at 1 pm, ended up coming back at 4:30!!!! When walked into the hotel, Jose (from Nexus) who did the booking, saw what happened, apologized and said that I would get compensated. He just had to discuss with his manager and would text me. Needless to say, he never texted and didn t even email copy of the receipt so I can follow up to get compensated!

It all stems from a commercial attitude where you are the fool who will believe everything: they show you a price list telling you that the value is much higher but they make you that price .. But having already seen prices around they knew they were online.
We take Samoa with snorkeling, we wait an hour for someone to show up and another half hour for it to leave, thrown into a beach and having done everything in a hurry to be there at 8.10 when no one was there before 9.
Gone by catamaran, on the beach you eat but with nexus no lobster because the others freeze and thaw them, so it is clear that nexus are the only honest ones according to them.
In short, an hour on the first beach, then lunch, and off to the natural pools .. 20 minutes No these are not those in the photo, Way to the starfish that can only be seen from the boat (we are late it is now clear), way to Samoa, one hour in Samoa .. they forget snorkeling and after everyone complains, at 17 with the sun already declining they take us to a place saying "you see the sea is bad and it looks bad what you want to do"?

I have done at least 5 or 6 of these excursions to the Caribbean: snorkeling is done in the morning or at lunch (from 11 to 15 maximum) to have the sun high and the sea calmer since in the afternoon it always ripples.
For the first time in 5 years I did not tip the boat because I wasted a day..I highly recommend taking the trip with the hotel if you are at the hilton or are looking for someone who does specific trips to Samoa, otherwise it will be like staying at the hotel. chasing something to take two selfies.
Another thing after having sold us the package our tour operator has disappeared .. Not even the gesture of knowing if everything is fine.

Please don t waste your time with this company. Very unprofessional company. We book 6 dives with them and we only did 4. Always ask the size of the boat they are using. I didn t and I paid the price of it. The boat was very small. It could barely fit 4 divers with gear and since we board the boat from the beach on the Atlantic Ocean side the waves were too high. I got so sick and other people on the boat was very nauseous as well despite taking medication (Dramamine). It is not safe and you are risking your life. We had to cancel the last 2 dives because of the ocean conditions got from bad to worse and they refused to refund us for those last 2 dives claiming that we decided not to go. The Master Diver himself suggest us not to go due to the huge waves and still we could not get our money back. They have knowledgeable divers but that is about it. Make sure you bring your own gear as well. Their gear is included but is in very rough conditions. Most importantly they are not trustworthy. I wonder how they manage be to in business. If you read NEXUS and think about using their diving services do yourself a favor and RUN!!

Went on a Soana island day trip (12 hours 7:15am to 7:15pm) on 5/6/19. Rudolph was our tour guide who spoke 3 languages for all passengers. Everything went as expected - a long bus ride there and back from Excellence El Carmen resort and shuffling from boat to catamaran to boat to island then a nice lunch a beautiful beach. The bad experience was the speed boat ride from island to shallow lake. The speed boat driver went above and beyond going fast by racing other boats and crossing wakes and just a little too close to other boats for comfort. My wife spoke to Rudolph about this and he kind of blew her off saying that we knew there was a speed boat ride when buying the trip from a Nexus salesperson. He did not understand or have empathy. I decided to speak to him after getting back on the boat from the shallows in the Caribbean and he also passed blame on the salesperson. He didn t get it or didn t care. All in all a wasted day traveling on a bus stopping at hotels and shops. Don t recommend.

The transfer luckily went well, but the disgusting attention especially on the part of Maria Alexis. Reading comments I do not understand how this person continues to work with them. We had a beautiful trip and we met great people in the Dominican Republic but this woman is the worst with what you can cross. Misplaced, rude, pathetic, aggressive, overcome, I do not know how many bad adjectives a person can have. The one way transfer was excellent and back with only 2 hours in advance to the airport (although we had booked 3 and a half hours before). I do not recommend, the only thing that left us bitter taste of our vacation
