Me and my family worked with Samuel Leyva and he helped us tremendously. He was very active with responding and kept in touch throughout the whole process. When we came to buy the car, he was ready and didn t waste any of your time. He even zoom called us before to show us the car in detail so we didn t waste any time driving all the way to San Jose. We highly recommend him. The finance department was a on the slower side, but overall our experience was great and I left with a great car!

The best experience we have ever had at a dealership! The staff was great and very knowledgeable about what they were selling. Mr. Pullen and Samuel were a great help to us and were very sincere. We will definitely come back to this dealership for future purchases. DGDG has surely changed the environment of car dealerships. We will totally recommend this dealership to all our family and friends. BTW VW Atlas rules. What a car!

My overall experience with this dealership was quite positive, and the person of contact, Lori Campbell, was very helpful, professional, attentive, yet somehow casual so I wasn't pressured to buy...and I have some past experience to compare to. She introduced me to the car I was most interested in, demonstrated various features and her test drive routes allowed me to "feel" the car at various driving scenarios. The purchase process also was quite seamless, and I drove off in my new car. Conclusion: from my personal experience, I would recommend this place.

Absolutely WORST dealership ever. We bought this u...

Absolutely WORST dealership ever. We bought this used Volt at Capitol Volkswagen about 1 month ago. We should have noticed at that time the unprofessional of this dealer. During our test drive, the dealer does not even know that this car is a plug-in hybrid and insist on that this car must not be a plug-in vehicle.

OK, I understand that this is Capitol Volkswagen, not Chevy, so it can be understandable for them to be unfamiliar with this car, but things just get worse after we decided to buy the car. When we bought the car, we signed a lot of documents, mostly is confirming that their car has no defects before selling it to us. Sure, who would think of you will buy a defect car instead? Dramatically, this just happens to us.

What do we got? A broken door lock on the rear door on driver's side. We cannot lock that door unless we lock it manually from the inside. Huh, that is called a car without defect. Cool, so we brought the car back and politely asking for a free replacement. They said sure let them take a look, and you know what, we wait there for the rest of the day (we arrived about 11 or so) until 4 or 5pm. And they still DID NOT fix the car. They said they need to order parts. OK, I won't ask why you need 6 hours just to tell me to order parts, but FINE, I will come again when your parts ready. After 2 or 3 weeks, we are finally being told that the parts are ready and we can fix that lock.

That is so cool! Last time I replaced my tires for my Lexus, you know how long that one takes? Two days, and a total waiting of 2 hours. It took an hour the first day to let me know they need to order parts, and it took another hour to have the new tires on. So how long dear Capitol Volkswagen took us? Emmmm, roughly 12 hours I think? It took 6 hours for them to let me know they need to order parts, and they use another 6 hours to JUST fix that lock. Interesting.

You think this is the end of the story? No! When we finally got our Volt back and drove to Popeyes for a chicken dinner, we noticed that there are several scratches on the back trunk! We checked our car EVERY DAY and I swear I NEVER SAW SCRATCHES LIKE THESE. Thus, we drove back and told them it is your man that made these scratches. Clearly, as a good dealership, Capitol Volkswagen is never good at admitting mistakes that caused by them. We are told that they must not be the one that cause these scratches but they can offer a buff. OK, I should have taken pictures before sending the car to you for the service but I didn't, so I don't have any evidences showing that it is you that made these scratches. FINE, if you help me buff the scratches, it is just FINE.

Today, we came to Capitol Volkswagen for the buff, and they took the car for about 2 hours and now they told me: Sorry, since it is not our fault, we cannot buff it for you. WAIT. Are you xxxxing kidding me?

I have never seen a dealership like this, and I will definitely never go back to this dealership again. Some sincere suggestions from a previous customer of Capitol Volkswagen:

1. Please remember to take a pictures of your car, both interior and exterior, before sending your car for the service, so that they cannot deny their responsibilities when they caused damages to your car.
2. Although I don't know how they caused the scratches, after searching online, we found out that it can be the car wash from dealership (I have never done a car wash after I bought this Volt), which also causes lots of scratches to other customers somewhere else. Thus, please don't ask your dealer to give your car a car wash, you can always do it outside somewhere.

Purchased my used luxury vehicle here almost a year ago and have continued to have a positive experience with Capitol VW. To start, a few months after purchase I noticed some paint peeling off the back bumper. A friend who owns a repair shop said it looked like the bumper had been painted over and that the new coat had not properly adhered. I called Capitol VW and told them my issue; the manager went through the service records and verified there had been a touch-up paint job on the bumper prior to my purchasing. I didn't have to keep calling or prodding-the dealership got in touch promptly and repaired my bumper free of charge as expected. The entire process was much easier than expected, and I was given a loaner car for a few days. Next, I took the car in for regular yearly maintenance which was free for the first year. Again, the service was seamless and easy. I dropped the car off and spent maybe 5 minutes, Capitol texted me letting me know they could communicate over text, which I used to later ask about their business hours. The rep responded within 15 minutes of my text, which I feel is reasonable considering he's also at the desk dealing with customers. When I came to pick the car up, it was ready in 5 minutes, there were no additional charges or recommendations for the vehicle, and I was sent a really cool video that showed the tech detailing the entire inspection.

I've always had great experiences every time I've gone to Capitol Volkswagen for any kind of service. Their customer service is fantastic!! Nick from the Service Department was so easy to work with, extremely patient, and explained everything to me in detail. They always call to keep me updated or if something has come up during inspection and I really appreciate that. HIGHLY recommend going to Capitol Volkswagen!

They have a massive lot and will help you to be satisfied. I dealt with Jairo and it was a great experience. They were able to give me an offer I am satisfied with and they were very clear and transparent about the breakdown of the fees. Livia from the finance team was also great to deal with. The floor is "okay": Nothing fancy but they have seating and refreshments. (Not something I particularly will judge when I am purchasing a car)

service for vw jetta 2019 was scheduled using the online tool at Capitol VW, the car was bought elsewhere. we had pre-purchased VW maintenance car package. Received by service representatives with great energies and a broad smile. I was briefed about the service and took less than a minute to setup service of my car. I was offered a free shuttle or a desk to work. I chose to work from the desk with charging points and free wifi. There is a break room with TV, free Coffee, free snacks.
The service advisor messaged me an inspection video of my car. Swung by the desk and gave me an estimated wait time. She explained me that there were recalls & required additional service covered by warranty.
Overall exemplary customer service, feel delighted and trust Capitol VW. Thank you Ms Erica Nicole Flores and the technician Mr Curtis Khau, I felt I was greatly valued and i will return

I love my new Tiguan, I purchased from Capitol VW, I have been shopping for a while for this car and I was told by multiple VW dealers that they cannot give me a deal on the Tiguan if I pay cash, they all tried to make me finance or lease.. Then I met Hardik Patel and he made my deal, he made sure the car and the deal is the one I wanted and the process was ease and quick, I had to wait for the finance office, but that was not even that long, I have had many experiences that it takes hours to get the process done, but with Mr. Patel it was quick and great service, I will definitely refer anyone looking for a VW to Hardik Patel.

This is the 4th vehicle I have purchased from Samuel and the 3rd from Capitol Volkswagen. Samuel is friendly, knowledgeable, transparent, and will go the extra mile to make sure you are happy. It is like buying a car from your friend instead of a sales person. I also appreciate that if he does not know the answer, he says so up front, and then does the research to give you the right answer.

Samuel represents Volkswagen well, and I am grateful for the hard work he does to make sure his customers are happy.

After car shopping for two months, I am grateful to have found Capitol Volkswagen! Samuel Leyva responded immediately to my message. He was able to find the car I wanted to purchase and prepare all of the paperwork. I traveled two hours to make the purchase. The customer service was worth the drive! First, I want to apologize for taking so long to send my review. I bought my 2011 VW Jetta a month ago. I want to especially thank Samuel my for giving me such a Great Customer Experience with the purchase of my car!! I felt confident in his honesty and knowledge, as well as he wasn't just selling me a vehicle, but he built a long term relationship with me. This type of Customer Service goes a long way. I find car shopping stressful and I appreciate the good care that Wayne, Byron and Arthur took of me. I am excited to own an EV! I only give 5 stars for above and beyond exceptional service, but these folks would get a 4 1/2 if I could choose fractions. The prices were a bit higher than if I went farther afield, but that is off set by the customer service, professionalism, convenience, and peace of mind that comes with working with a reputable dealer!

I'm sorry to say that I did not have a positive experience with Capitol Volkswagen, despite a promising start to my visit.

I called them early in the morning about a potential problem with my emissions system. The fuel cap warning light had been on the day prior, followed by the dreaded check engine light. They advised that I bring my car in for diagnosis and I was initially very pleased that they could fit me into their schedule on such short notice.

I arrived earlier than planned due to a desire to get off the road asap, and they were very accommodating and allowed me to check my vehicle in early. After a bit of a confusing delay, the service rep brought me the paperwork. I noticed there was a sizeable diagnosis fee which had not been discussed with me prior to my arrival, but okay, that's fine, as long as they're able to find and fix my problem.

The rep disappears at this point and nearly 2 hours pass. Not exaggerating, my phone was really low on battery and I was nervously counting the minutes. He finally comes back and tells me that pretty much every component of a particular system needed to be replaced to take care of the problem. The total figure quoted to me was staggering.

When I questioned him about the function of some of the parts listed, he was unable to answer and had to go consult with someone else. When I asked whether they were certain that all of the parts absolutely needed to be replaced, he replied that that was what he had been told.

Disappointed and heavy-hearted, I decided to put off making a decision to consult with my better half. One hefty diagnosis fee and another quarter of an hour later, I finally get my car back.

My husband advised me to try getting a second opinion, just in case. Thank goodness he did.

I called the Sunnyvale Volkswagen dealership and was answered by a person who sounded like he had some solid experience under his belt. He expressed skepticism that every single component on the laundry list I was given needed replacing, and explained that that was very uncommon and unlikely. I decided then and there to bring my car to them for a fresh set of eyes.

Less than two hours later, I am heading back home, my worries considerably lightened and my car back in ship-shape. The folks over in Sunnyvale actually performed a proper smoke test diagnosis and discovered the actual part that was leaking, rather than telling me to just replace everything and the kitchen sink. All-told, I ended up spending a fifth of what I was quoted by Capitol, not to mention considerably less time sitting around confused and in the dark about what was happening behind the scenes.

I'm really honestly disappointed with Capitol Volkswagen. I just moved to the Bay area recently from NC and was hoping to find a new go-to service provider close to our new home. If they had just taken the time to diagnose my car properly, they would have gained a loyal customer for the lifetime of my vehicle. Instead, I'm now decidedly going to go out of my way to drive out to Sunnyvale from now on for service, and my next car upgrade probably won't be with them either. What a shame.

If you are looking for a new car, go no further than Capital VW and Make sure you ask for Uwanah Udofia. Uwanah met me as soon as I arrived and was extremely helpful. He let me test drive every car I asked for an did not pressure me one bit. He helped explain the technical specs of each care in detail. Once I decided on a car he was extremely helpful with the pricing and the financing options. I've never had an experience this easy and helpful when buying a car! I love my GTI and I love the fact that I got an awesome price on it with awesome service, thanks to Uwanah!

I bought a pre-owned vehicle here, and after 1 day the clutch was already performing poorly. The people in the office were very nice, agreeable, and didn't pressure me into keeping the vehicle. I had the standard 3-day, 250 mile return policy, which I used to get a refund. It's now been a couple weeks, and there has been no movement from Capitol to return my $6,000 down payment and unwind the deal. I've called several times to speak with the General Manager and the Finance Manager, and was promised this would be taken care of. Still no actual action from them, and no down payment returned.

If they finally return my funds, I will consider taking down this review, but on the whole this has been a very painful, laborious process.

+5 min after posting this I was just informed my check is now available - they are claiming it was ready this morning, and just needed to go thru one more approval - curious timing.

Lori not only helped me get the best deals but she helped me find the perfect car for my needs, and has been nothing but wonderful even after the purchase! I had a great experience while getting my vehicle serviced at Capital Volkswagon. Dustin was my service advisor and he was very friendly and informative. I needed a ride to work and a gentleman (I believe his name was Paul) was available to take me to work while the shuttle was unavailable. I was able to get a ride back to Volskwagon from Cecil, the shuttle driver, and he was very friendly! When I picked my car up it had been washed and everything. I am very happy with my servicing and I'm glad Capital Volkswagon has such a friendly staff.

We had a quick meeting with Lori at Capital Volksw...

We had a quick meeting with Lori at Capital Volkswagon on a Sunday to tell her what car and options we were looking for. We specifically wanted a 2015 Golf TDI with a choice of options. Two days later I received a text saying she had two Golf TDI's with different option levels and both the color we were looking for. We went in on Saturday and she had everything arranged for us to test drive. The process was very easy and she delivered on exactly what we asked for. We bought our new Golf TDI and were out the door in just over two hours.

In addition, she worked everything out so we could store our old Golf TDI at the dealership while we processed the Volkswagon buy back settlement option. She also provided advice and support for getting the settlement option complete. This is the second car we have purchased there and the process is quick and honest. The sales manager keeps the process honest feeling and transparent. The finance guy was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions, spending extra time with us to resolve all issues.

Great job again guys. Thank you.

I would agree with previous reports regarding rude people working there; at times I felt like I'm back in the USSR. And the quality of service was not good either.

This has changed. New, nice people. I am absolutely satisfied with the service, with the politeness of the people there, and the quality of the work. I think they heard us.

Excellent service by all the Capitol VW staff and specially Uwanah and Sheri for their exceptional work and help. If you just transferred to the Bay Area and looking for a new car, Capitol VW is by far the best option with their Professional Programs. We fell in love with a car on the lot. It was not our intent to purchase a new car, but Nicholas Pavich (the salesman who approached us)was very patient and informative.
Once we had made our decision to purchase the vehicle Nicholas, was very helpful and assisted us through the entire process. We never felt pressured in any which way. We found all people involved very professional and accommodating. I highly recommend the Capitol VW dealership .

I bought a 2015 Nissan Sentra. My rep Michael Ludes had to be the best car salesman I've ever dealt with. No pressure, he listens to what you need and never once tried to feed me a line of bull, or sell me something I didn't want. They got me more than I was actually expecting on my trade in. I drove away with my new car back to Valdosta without any regrets in my mind. I felt well taken care of and would definitely recommend them. When I pay this one off, I am going back to see Michael Ludes at Capital Motors. I especially appreciate the patience and time the took to explain everything as we worked on the deal. I tend to ask the same questions over and over. But they took it well. Thanks again.

Came to Capitol Volkswagen for the first time to see a particular car and was welcomed and helped by Jose R. Jose was very patient, understanding, and not pushy type of salesman. Turns out the car was at the Oak Tree Mazda, which Jose took the effort and picked it up to bring back to his location. When checking out the car there were some minor knick. Ask Jose there was another of the same car at Nissan Sunnyvale if he can try and get it. With manager they called the dealership and states someone was in the process of buying the car but will let us know.

After few hours, we got a call from Jose stating car was sold from the Sunnyvale Nissan. Therefore we headed back and test drove once more and look it through again and decided to buy it.

Jose R was every helpful and took the extra mile to help us get the car. If anyone goes to Capitol Volkswagon ask for Jose R.

I met Lori Campbell when I returned my 2013 Passat TDI to Capitol Volkswagen. Before I returned my car, I called Lori for questions about my car accident which might devalued my car. Lori answer my questions clearly and help me on the issue. After returning my Passat, I look for another "new" used car. Lori is Very helpful and she is the best car saleswoman I have seen. She is very patient to help me choose the right car for my need. Finally I narrow down my choice to a Acura MDX AWD for my future need. There is absolutely no push from Lori. She keep sending me the suitable car information every month. I am very picky on the car color outside and inside combination. I am also very sensitive to price. Finally I get the car I want in more than 5 months of searching.

Thanks for Lori's great help.

The loan and paper process is also very smooth. Overall it is a friendly business environment for customers. I am pretty impressive the business style and I am an overall very satisfied customer. I will buy car again from here in the future.

Went here to purchase a new SUV and had a great experience. The interior and waiting area are spacious and aesthetically pleasing and the coffee from the gourmet machine was actually pretty good.
Uwanah was the name of the sales person who helped me out and I cannot give him high enough praise. He was friendly, humorous, knowledgeable, and as we had already agreed on an internet price via email there was no b.s. haggling or up-sell (he even helped me get an additional corporate discount through my employer I was not even aware of). He moved me through the entire process as efficiently as possible and arranged complementary delivery of the vehicle to my home. I would definitely recommend Capitol Volkswagen if you are in the market for a VW or are just curious about what they have to offer; ask for Uwanah if you can.

Just bought a new 2020 VW Tiguan from Lori Campbell at Capitol VW in San Jose. I drove an hour from my home in the East Bay. I would have driven across the country to work with her! She is brilliant. Honest. Straightforward (no BS). Offered me a discount on top of an already great price on the car. Was a delight to work with. Made sure the vehicle was perfect before I left with it. My wife, Ruth, and I had a very nice experience buying a car from Kea Kong at Capitol Volkswagen. Kea is very knowlegeable, and the conversations and test drives we took in a VW Passat TDI were very low key and not stressful. There was no high pressure, no bait and switch, no call in the "closer," or any of those other things that I personally dread when car shopping. They helped me financed my passat from the lease I had with other VW dealership with no problem. I had a very good deal with my Atlas Cross Sport. Fast service but the receptionist made me feel like I was bugging her as I waited to be checked in. I had a question about my car but got the impression I'd be bothering her if I asked so I didnt. It was quick service tho and no charge to reset a inspection light.

If this dealership did not have the EXACT car we wanted we would not have purchased here.

The finance manager, Livia, was pushy and would not take no for an answer. She was pushing a $2300 extended warranty when we had priced out options for the same coverage as low as $1300 in the area and even below $1000 from dealerships further away. We told her this competitive pricing and said that we weren't interested and she insisted on having us sign even though we didn't agree.

Livia's sales tactic was to guarantee that we could cancel the next day with no penalty and no need to re-sign paperwork. We were exhausted from waiting 5 hours at the dealership so we went with it.

I wish the whole signing experience with Livia had been a little less hostile and that her sales tactics were far less aggressive. I wish the rest of the team (specifically Juan Velazquez, Steven Vose, and Alex Pryadko) could help to improve the painful parts of the experience.

We messaged the dealership at 9am the next morning to remove charges and they assured us it would be done. We then followed up TWICE and eventually were told it was taken care of and charges removed only to find out from the lender that they charged us the extra $2300 for the extended warranty AND $500 for the tire care package after all anyway!

Livia's sales tactic of tacking on additional charges with the guarantee that we could "have them removed tomorrow" has now proven to be more than a 2 week battle with the dealership.

Note: I have updated this review after emailing the manager and our sales associate then discussing charges with my bank because the promise made by the dealership to remove additional charges were not upheld.

2 months after purchase (March 2019) and the dealership still has not communicated to the bank that we did not order the extras. We are still being charged interest on a purchase we did not ask for.

Be careful, these guys are fraudsters. I found a buyer for my leased vehicle and this dealership agreed to make the transaction for a fee. So the buyer paid the buyout price and the fee. We both left happy, until VW sent me a bill for the lease return which I wasn't supposed to get since I never returned the vehicle to VW. But dealer chose to make the transaction such a way that they made extra money on top of what we paid them and now I owe money to VW.

Michael Felton could not have been more charming or knowledgeable. He was gracious to a fault, and made our purchase of my new convertible as pleasant as any car buying experience could be. He was knowledgeable but not the least bit overbearing. With an impeccable wit, and a lot of low key curtesy and expertise, Michael did a great job and I would recommend him highly.

I brought my car in to have a battery replaced under warranty, however I was charged well over $400 for services that I didn't approve, not to mention that I drove my car in, but had to have it towed out, and the battery that I needed and requested to be replaced was not. I purchased my car here, and used to always have it serviced here, but never again will I. I also made an appointment, but my vehicle was there for two days. My service manager told me this is because they were busy, but what's the point of an appointment. I understand that they weren't going to be making money on a warranty replacement, but I am now out a lot of money, paid for a battery from another mechanic, and the repairs that I was charged for were under a recall, which means that Volkswagen paid them for the repair. I have a complaint lodged with the bureau of automotive repairs, but I have yet to get an explanation from the dealership.

I bought a 2019 VW E-golf from Capitol Volkswagen in March of 2021. I appreciated their help as an out-of-state buyer, and the transaction and delivery were as smooth as possible. Ozzie, Arthur, and the rest of the folks that were involved in the sale get an A+ in my book. The price was great, the service was excellent, and the car arrived in perfect condition, and just exactly as expected. Their detail department made my used car look like new.
