Ford sent a letter telling us to fix a recall...(problem involving an airbag) It took 5 months to receive the part! And...we received another letter about the same recall after the dealership fixed the car. Ridiculous. More of a Ford company perspective than the dealership.

My experience is ALWAYS great, on time, professional, honest, and just great service. However,
My dashboard display was changed but not put back the way I had it. I still have not been able to get back to how I like my display and very confusing. I am home now and going to look at the book hoping directions for my display settings are there.
I took my F150 in for regular service maintenance. The service people were polite and ready to take care of me. My service was completed in a timely fashion and checkout was easy. They explained all services completed and noted any concerns for future service. Very nicely done Bowditch.
Always a issue when taking my car to be serviced. This was the last time I'll take my car to Bowditch. Had an appointment and it still wasn't ready when I was told it would be. This wasn't the first time it happened. Just over all bad experience.
I made an appointment for 9 AM & didnt leave the building until 11 AM for a state inspection..they did every walk in before even starting on my car & told me my car was almost ready but didnt get done for another 30-45 minutes. I had doctor appointments to be to at 10:30 hoping I'd be done but again, my car wasnt finished inspecting for 2 hours. wouldn't recommend ANYONE going here for services if you have other things planned.
I've driven Ford for many years and their cars just get better and better. Bowditch is a great place. Clean, friendly and reliable. They consistently deliver. The service department is also great.
I was nervous at first about buying a new car,but then the staff made me feel really welcomed in their place of business First I want to thank Bill for everything he did for me and also want to thank Chris for everything he did. Both gentlemen made it to where I was able to get my car. I bought a Ford Fiesta Hatchback and I love it.I would recommend friends and family to check them out.Again I Thank the staff at Bowditch Ford. The are awesome.
We had one of the worst experiences with service since owning my truck. From Al being rude to my wife over the phone asking for insight into what an alternator fix would entail to claiming to me over the phone that it was just one of those days...I had been told multiple times that I would receive updates on my service at certain times with no calls back. I planned my days in anticipation of those call back and they didn t happen. I tried to get ahold of my service rep and could not get ahold of them up to 30 separate calls in a day with no call backs or answer, I am completely done with Bowditch Ford and will be switching to another Ford dealer with hopefully better success. The rep who took over tried her best to fill in but I think she was over her head, which I think led to the bad service. I had previously had success with Bowditch in the past but not this time.
Years of great service! But lately, Bowditch has let me down, the scheduling and wait time is ridiculous. I'm going to drive further to try another dealer for my next service. It's not difficult to schedule 1 vehicle at a time for each mechanic at opening time is it? Almost 2 hours for an oil change and inspection, my car went on the lift an hour after I got there. I waited about 2 hours the time before as well. I will no longer recommend Bowditch.
I really like Bowditch Ford. The experience was quick and painless. They put everything out there in the beginning. There is no going back and forth. I wasn't there that long. Diana was the person who sold me the car. She was pleasant, very nice and informative. The business manager and the lady from the service department were also friendly. I look forward to going there for my service in the near future. Also, I love my 2017 Ford Edge.
Bowditch Ford has been my go to place for my car. I don t go anywhere else because I have much trust in them. Also, the staff is super nice and sweet. When I take my car for services the mechanics get their job done in a good manner of time. The price for services are definitely affordable and that s also a why they are my go-to place.
If you want a dealership that values you as a customer and provides excellent service then Bowditch Ford is for you. You can not beat Al Cusano for customer satisfaction in the service department. He is the best and tries to help each and every customer. Susie Perry and Dennis Cousin are the best and fairest people I have ever dealt with in purchasing a vehicle. I have been dealing with them for some 25 years and always feel I have been treated fairly and got a good deal and vehicle. Just purchased my new F150 Truck and good not be happier.
I have not had issues with Bowditch Ford in terms of service. From Mr Al at the service reception area to the technicians, the courtesy drivers, and cashiers, Bowditch Ford is truly a grand dealership.
The people at this location were friendly, knowledgeable and professional. They contacted us with estimates of coasts and did not push us to get work done that was not required.
I want to thank everyone at Bowditch for making my purchase go so smoothly. We had just purchased a vehicle from Susie Perry a month earlier and was so impressed with her knowledge and professionalism. Chris Vanderheede made the necessary adjustments to our budget and Freddy Gates found a way to save us a substantial bit more. Lastly, Linda Summers helped me get the accessories I needed to make my purchase complete. I wanted to give Susie the first chance to make the sale and she made it all go so smoothly. I have and will continue to recommend Bowditch Ford!!
I hope this place will keep my 5 stars, I live in Williamsburg and am really angry with my dealership, my driver's side mirror wouldn't fold in from the inside switch, they told me it looked like it was hit and would not be covered and wanted $800. It was never hit there was a flaw/dent in the plastic. I have several other issues with them.
I took it to Bowditch and had them look at it, they said it didn't look hit. It was replaced today at no cost to me. I also had an oil change because the other shop failed to do it.
The waiting area is comfortable for dealership, there is plenty of areas to sit. I have my car and a truck and as long as you are honest I will make the drive to NN.
I just want to add to my review, I have been using Al Cusano as my service manager, I had my truck in last week for an oil change and check engine light, he called about problem with my check engine light, stupid mice chewed some wire, that happens when you live in a wooded area. He also told me something the earlier mentioned dealership did to my truck and advised me to take it back to them to fix. Glad I did, it took them 4 hours to fix, a lot labor I didn't need to pay for.
If you want a service manager that will talk to you and with kindness ask for Al. Going to stick with Al and make the extra drive, it is not convent because I live too far away for the shuttle service, where the before mentioned dealership is 2 miles from where I work.
Salesman and manager were courteous, knowledgeable and fair with the cost of the vehicle. They gave me a tour of the shop, parts department and introduced me to all the service team menbers. They have a larger selection of vehicles to choose from than all the dealers in the Virginia Beach area. I highly recommend this dealerships to anyone who has done the reseach on the vehicle they intend to purchase and are ready to make a deal.
So as I am grateful that they tried to figure out what was wrong with my car and fixed my door latch recall , but my problem is that they called once. They called one time and left no voice message or anything. I called multiple times left a voice message and emailed but never heard back. The fact that I had to call to get the update on my car bothers me. Lack of communication is my problem with Bowditch.
Great customer service and professionalism. They repaired my vehicle in a timely manner and kept me updated as to the status. Very happy with the service; will continue to use them for service to my Ford.
I was very pleased with my first oil change service at Bowditch Ford for my 2011 Ford Ranger. The staff was friendly and helpful and the new facilities were great.
I have had nothing but good experiences with Bowditch Ford in Newport News. Service Advisor, Al Cusano has always been honest and fair with my family and I (something that can be lacking when it comes to car service and repair in general). Dealerships get a bad rap sometimes, but I can say that there is no better place to take your vehicle (especially your Ford) than Bowditch in Newport News. Thank you Al and thank you Bowditch service team for all that you do.
This week will be the 5th time we have taken our vehicle in for the same problem. This last time I got it back with something else entirely broken. I feel like more harm than good is happening to my vehicle when I take it into the service dept.
Always great service! I had an issue with my sunroof not closing on my F150 and there was some rain in the forecast. I called to get it serviced but they didn t have any appointment available for a few days. But because of the possible weather, they agreed to have me drop it off same day. They diagnosed the issue and had it serviced promptly. Can t be happier with the service given by the team.
First I love my car. And the people there are very professional and helpful. Everyone was so kind and caring. I would recommend anyone to go there it was awesome.
Best customer service and friendly sales personnel! Finance people worked hard to get the best rates and monthly payments cane in even lower than expected. Thank you for a great car buying experience, from my sales rep, George Evans, to the finance department and the car detailing!
After walking inside because I couldn't find anyone outside after 15min, it took me 5 min to find someone on an early Saturday afternoon. After telling the lady I wanted to test a truck, she said it would be a few minutes and disappeared. I stood there for 15 min waiting by myself before walking out. Made an easy decision to not get a Ford.
Great service experience , the staff really helped me out and did an excellent job fixing my Focus. They are such friendly people and I would recommend Bowditch Ford to anyone.
Been taking my 2013 fushion here since I've bought it from them, always have been well taken care of!!! Al in service has taken care of me for years & dose a Great job. The mechanics are Outstanding too!!! Thank you Bowditch Ford!!! Visit them on Jefferson Ave in Newport News!!! Great Job!!!
I have always provided Bowditch positive feedback after having my vehicle serviced. Recently, the engine unexpectedly self-destructed without warning on my SUV while driving on a major highway. I was informed it was due to a water pump failure and there was nothing I could have done. Given the stress of the entire situation, I contacted the Customer Service Rep who agreed to get back with me the next day. I did not receive a call the next day but I understand sometimes the workday can be very busy. While awaiting the follow-up call, I did receive a message from my Service Rep asking when the SUV was going to be towed away. I attempted to return the call twice but no answer so I called the Customer Service Rep. No answer, so I left a message. The "radio silence" from Bowditch is unfortunate and very disappointing. They do not value you as a loyal ford customer. The customer service is not good, and the service department will lie to you and take your money without fixing your vehicle. They will just keep taking your money. Do not go to this dealer. They sold me a truck and the coolant resovir hose popped off of the tank and dumped all of the coolant as soon as I drove it off the lot. My vehicle has been having some issues since then, and I kept bringing it in to get fixed. They would never fix the issue. They just said it was running great and charged me for labor and other random expenses that I did not ask for. Do not let these people take your money.
Great professionals as always with a very friendly and helpful staff. I say again the best place to buy a car and an even better place to help you keep your car running well.
Mike Armstrong was great. Worked very hard to get me in a car, and I was given a great deal. Not only that, but he is prior service and I'm sure he has some stories to tell. Go by and see him. Thank you bowditch Ford!
I ALWAYS HAVE A GREAT EXPERIENCE!!! I CALLED TO SETVAN APPOINTMENT ON MONDAY FOR WEDNESDAY AND COURTNEY SAID SHE DIDN'T HAVE ANYTHING THEY WERE ALL BOOKED UP I TOLD HER THAT WAS MY ONLY DAY OFF THAN SHE PLACED ME ON HOLD CAME BACK WITH A 10:30 APPOINTMENT! AND GENTLEMAN THAT SERVICED MY TRUCK WAS SUPER NICE 5 FOR HIM AS WELL! THANK YOU TO THE SERVUCE TEAM THERE YOU ALL ROCK!!!!
I purchased my first vehicle from Bowditch Ford over forty years ago and have never been disappointed in the sales or service department. My service writer Al has always taking care of my service needs and makes sure my families vehicle is safe for the highways.
First, let me say that over the years, I have purchased 4 vehicles from Bowditch Ford. A return customer. However, I list below, some recent dealings that have left me less than satisfied. l. After waited at the service counter for ten minutes without acknowledgement, I had to request attention from the service desk clerk. She then told me I would need to talk to Al who was not there. 2. The service department referred me to an outside vendor to repair a leaking rear window. After four visits and $400.00, it still leaks. 3. Lastly, I made an appointment with the service department for a fuel module safety recall. At the appointment, I was told that the fuel level had to be less than the level that I had at that time, therefore, the job could not be done. I should have been informed of this when I made the appointment, to avoid a trip from Smithfield, and arranging my schedule needlessly. I will be going to another dealership for future purchases and service.
I was completely satisfied with the service Bowditch provided in arranging the purchase of my new Ford Fiesta. From finding a vehicle with the options I was looking for, to arranging financing, and picking up the vehicle, I was completely satisfied with the Bowditch personnel with whom I came into contact.
The service department was fast, efficient and friendly. My only disappointment was that the truck was not washed or vacuumed at the end of the service. For the last 8 years we had other vehicles that were always washed and vacuumed. Just a nice and professional touch that you should consider
Thanks Bowditch Ford for making it easy for me to get a State Inspection on my Ford Edge, the appointment was painless and the wait time was easy, especially on the next to last day of the month.
left my Escape with Al in service for an inspection and oil change. Not only was it done way before I expected it, he called me twice (home and Cell phone) to let me know when it was finished. When I picked it up it was clean and brought to me right at the service desk. The staff was very friendly.
Bowditch Ford was great. They were readily available to assist me when I got there. Dave Truman was my rep. And he was very professional. He made sure I knew and understood all the features of my new car and he showed me where the parts and service dept was so when I bring my car back for regular maintenance I will know exactly where to come. The finance department worked with me even though my credit score wasn't the best. Everybody there was very professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend Bowditch Ford to my friends relatives, and anybody else who asks. I wish I had gone to them for all of my previous car purchases. I definitely will be back for any purchases I make in the future.
Solely based on my first experience with Bowditch, I had another dealer I went to for servicing my car. I needed a new positive battery terminal on my car due to corrosion. The tech at my dealer tried to tell me I needed a full list of items that amounted to 7 hours of labor and would cost me between $1,200 and $1,300. Realizing I was being taken advantage of, I canceled the work there and drove over to Bowditch. Their assistant service manager Al Cusano was fantastic! He had me immediately bring my car into the service bay (without an appointment), brought out two technicians to look at my car and quickly came to the conclusion I didn't need everything my dealer was trying to sell me - especially at that cost. Their techs were able to find a positive terminal in stock, it took 45 minutes to install, and it cost me $240. It's a further drive, but I will be bringing my vehicle to Bowditch from now on for all of my servicing. Thank you!
I went in today to have the door code retrieved on a used Ford I recently purchased from another dealer. I called a couple days ago to confirm that Bowditch could do this, and got a price quote of $45. When I went to pay, I was charged $60. I asked the service writer about the difference, and told him what I was quoted two days ago. His response was the price went up and he walked away. I was left with no choice but to pay and leave. Two stars because they did perform the service I requested, but that s about the only good thing I have to say. I won t be returning. There are honest mechanics out there, but it doesn t appear to be Bowditch Ford.
My hubby and I saw a F350 online that we wanted to check out. As soon as we got to Bowditch, Mr. Mike Armstrong helped us. He answered all of our questions thoroughly and led us into the easiest hassle free buying process we have ever experienced. Mike is definitely an asset to the team at Bowditch. Thanks Mike!
Brought my car here after getting it initially check at another location that told me they couldnt find anything wrong. My service rep at Bowditch took the time to listen to my issue and even had the car check twice after he informed me they couldnt find anything the first time. I ended up not being crazy and the brakes were making a bad sound after all. They fixed the issue quickly and I was able to get on my way. Loved the service!
The best vehicle buying experience I've had. David Truman was knowledgeable, polite and there wasn't an ounce of high pressure. If you want a pleasant vehicle buying experience without the usual high pressure, go to Bowditch.
Lorie Logsdon, Service Advisor, did a fantastic job. She made the whole experience pleasant. I felt comfortable interacting with the staff. Everyone welcomed me in and I forgot that I was a service shop and felt like I was just hanging out.
I found the cost to be quite unrealistic. I was charged $85 for labor just to get my electronic key entry code reset (I did not know the code as vehicle was purchased used). I believe it shouldn't be that high for something so simple. No actual mechanical work was done. This was quite disappointed.
The making of a spare key was about $25, this I can deal with. This is reasonable.
Customer service was great but cost/pricing was a bit high. And for that reason, I would probably end up going elsewhere to get serviced for less. In today's world, where money isn't falling from the sky, it is hard to pay that bill - especially being a mom to 3 kids (with 2 being twins), it is hard having to give away money like that.
Service at Bowditch is always top of the line. David Truman and others went the extra mile to help us choose the right vehicle. We are very satisfied with our 2020 Ranger.
The worst experience every wish I could give zero stars. The lack of communication and professionalism in the service department is unbelievable. They refused to do a warranty claim so they waited to Saturday to fix my car. It was there since Thursday. Then Harry try to Discourage me from using my warranty to pay out of pocket. He said it can take ten or more days and we can t release your car till we are paid. So disappointed in this company.
As soon as I got to this Ford I was greeted by the most unprofessional salesman. He was very rude and refused to help me. Management was no help either. I left within 10 minutes and will not be back. I will go to another Ford.
Al Cusano, at Bowditch Ford, is the only one I trust to keep my vehicle safe for me to drive. I know that when he says I need something done on it, it really needs to be done; and that he's going to give me the best possible deal he can on whatever needs to be done. He worries about how much I'm spending as much as I do, maybe even a bit more. But more importantly, he worries about my safety. Thank you, Al!
"That Mailbox Is Full" -- now on my SECOND day trying to get an appointment --- left VMs and emails for Kim yesterday to get my truck serviced -- NO RESPONSES. Same drill today other than I get "That Mailbox is Full" when I call the main service number and the Truck Center. What a complete mess as a business -- AVOID.
Sales was great, but service is a nightmare. Waited 2 hours for them to complete a recall that they had already completed once. Told the gentleman that I thought it took too long. He handed me the keys and said here you go . I guess it was not that important to him. Now, several months later, I get the exact same recall notice for the truck. Something is definitely wrong.
I would definitely buy from them again. I found a used car online, and made an appointment to come see and test drive it. I was there for only about two hours and drove home in my new car. They were very easy to work with.
Customer service was not great. They forgot to service my car the first day that I dropped it off for an appointment. Then they didn t have the car ready when I went in a day later at the time they said it would be finished. Every time I walk in there are a bunch of employees sitting around chatting but takes 5-10 mins at least to get anyone to help me. Can t complain about the actual mechanical work because my car seems to run fine.
Came in for a recall. Scheduled the appointment on a Monday or Tuesday for today. Got shuttled back home and as soon as I get home I get told they don't have the part. That is some basic stuff to mess up.
Update to my last review. Customer service was great after i was contacted. When I returned, they were very polite and professional. Would recommend to go for a quick service but I would be careful to make sure they have the parts available or will have the parts available.
