Bowditch consistently exceeds expectations. From helping me find the truck I was looking for to providing maintenance, they have been accommodating and professional.
I dropped my truck off at 8am on a tuesday to get u joints and mid shaft replacement on f350. Still sitting here at 1130 Thursday. I was told 3 different finishing times and was gave excuse wont be able to get parts in until next moring twice due to being to late in day (when was told parts were going to be in first thing in morning). Was told parts wont take to long bc we had to just go right down the road to pick up yoke bracket that ended up bent (found on 3rd day of service) I get that sometimes mechanics runs into problems but service advisor needs to stop giving finishing times and dates when he has no clue or the mechanics are idiots and have worse time management. I came to dealer because of travel arramgements scheduled and didnt have time to do it myself. If i would have known it was going to take dealer 3 days to fix something i would done in 1 maybe 2 days then i could have saved a bunch of time and money. WILL NOT RETURN AND WILL NOT REFER.
I recently purchased a new 2018 explorer XLT about 3 weeks ago. Me and my wife are absolutely thrilled with it. It has so many features that we only dreamed of having but the folks at Bowditch made it a reality. We had spent at least 2 months searching for other SUV s. We came to Bowditch on a whim. We were treated exceptionally by every employee we encountered. Robert, was an excellent salesman to deal with. He wasn t pushy and was able answer all of our questions. I appreciated he let us take a test drive without accompanying us. He found a vehicle that fit in our budget, it had a ton of new features including a sunroof which my wife loved. The salesman team searched for every rebate available to us. The got us an APR I never thought I would qualify for. They even gave us a realistic price that we asked for, for our trade in. Many other dealerships in the peninsula dismissed what we asked for but not y all. Even when we settled on a deal, we explained to them we had to leave to pick up our son for an appointment that afternoon and we would come back the next day. They promised and delivered that they would have us out of there by the time we needed to leave. I have bought 7 cars in my lifetime and I can truly say I have never had such a stress free and such an easy experience than I did at your dealership. Thanks again. Will be back next time we need another vehicle.
Service appointment for 9:30 this morning for a state inspection. Prompt, courteous service. Greeted immediately by name. Waited for service completion for less than an hour. Had nice conversation about Mustangs with service coordinator prior to leaving. Will definitely be a repeat customer.
Went in to get my fusion transmission serviced. Drain and fill. They didnt tell me they couldn't get all the fluid out of it until after. The technician said he got 6 out of 9 qts out. Wish they would have told me before hand that they wouldn't be able to get it all out .
This is the 4th vehicle I have bought from Bowditch and Joe Garrity. I have been extremely pleased with all vehicles. Everyone I have had the pleasure to deal with has been awesome, Joe, Dennis, Al, John and to Stefan-you really made my Edge shine! For myself I will only deal with Bowditch!
I took my car in today for service. The service was done on time and efficiantly. Car was returned clean. Ed (service dept.) as always was a pleasure to work with.
I brought my vehicle in Richmond but get it serviced on the peninsula. I choose Bowditch because close to home and work and glad I did . the service there has been excellent and very timely . you are greeted warmly and the same when you leave I wouldn't think of going anywhere else .thank you Bowditch Ford.
Bowditch has been part of my life for many years. I have bought a few new vehicles there and will probably buy more. They are very helpful, sales and service. If something does happen with a vehicle, they are very quick to fix it and return it. I haven't met anyone on their staff yet who wasn't polite and helpful. The new building is amazing! ! If you are not a Bowditch customer, your missing out!!
Whatever you do, do not buy a vehicle from Bowditch. We are extremely disappointed in the outcome of the service through them. They think they have done all that they could to make us happy, however, they have not. They are rude and completely unprofessional. When I spoke with a manager today, about the fact that they sold us a piece of junk, the manager said, "We did not stick a gun up to your head and make you purchase this vehicle." That was extremely rude and unprofessional. I spent tons of money on a warranty, and there is STILL issues with the car. Unluckily for me, I purchased the "best warranty I could buy." (WHAT A JOKE). Now, I'm stuck in a piece of crap vehicle with a $25k loan, with loads of negative equity. They told me when buying this car that I could "refinance". Well, we brought up our credit score, but now can NOT refinance because of the "negative equity." We had not bought with a big dealership prior to this, and we trusted them. Even one of their own employees stated that they should not have sold us that truck. They act us though they have done so much, by fixing some of the problems....however, those problems are covered UNDER MY WARRANTY THAT I PAID FOR.So they did not go "above and beyond," as they claim they did. I have never felt like such a bother to a company, EVER. I highly doubt, even though I have a warranty, the new issues that were pointed out to me today will get fixed. I've yet to hear from the actual person in charge over their either. They all just get on the phone with the GM and he relays messages. Not sure who that person is. And, I am sorry to Lauren, that I have to write this review, because she is the only person who cared at all to help us out over there....HOWEVER, There are many other places to buy a vehicle from. Save your self the headache, heartache, and MONEY!
Initial diagnostic at another place had repairs for a check engine light at $600. Al's top techs looked at it and found that diagnostic was wrong, reducing repairs cost to $350. I felt that they placed a pretty high emphasis on doing a job right.
If you are looking for a reliable car that does not hurt your wallet. GO HERE. Mr. Eddie Gibbs will help you pick out the perfect car for you no matter what the situation. Every time I have called he has been there to answer any questions or figure out what needs to be done to fit your situation. Good guy and an even better salesman.
I was looking for a 2 year old Escape but Linda showed me a new Escape was the better value after the rebates and discounts were figured in. The first new car I have ever bought. Great company to do business with.
Went in to trade in a car thinking I would get another used car but was able to get the car that I wanted before I bought the car I traded in. Ask for Linda she is great.
Just bought a 2017 F150 and I had a great experience. Would highly recommend this dealer. Very friendly and they worked with me and I got a great deal!! Thanks again, I love my new truck.
It took them almost 2 days dragging me along only to keep saying that "it's going to take a little longer". Then when I decided I'd had enough it was like I was asking for rights to their first born child just to get the title back on the car I was trying to trade in. So basically, unless you're made of money do not shop here.
I was very impressed with the professionalism of Steve (my salesman) and everyone else at Bowditch. I'm usually a difficult customer to please and very hesitant to accept car salespeople to be genuine and honest, but I was definitely proven wrong at Bowditch. I never met the Sales Manager, I don't know his/her name, and I don't want to! Did not get the typical run-around between salesman and manager and felt like I genuinely got a great deal with genuinely great customer service (whether I got that great of a deal or not). Thank you for everything and thank you for proving I made the right choice to switch from Dodge to Ford. I have high hopes of being a lifelong customer.
I'm still floating on cloud-9 since purchasing my 2019 Ford Fusion from Bowditch Ford. What an amazing automobile. I especially appreciate the auto high beam sensor feature that illuminates darkened areas I drive through. And, what about the lane assistance feature that alerts you when are mistakenly crossing the lane divider line. Now, I cannot omit the forward accident alert warning feature. It's nice to know how much thought Ford put into my 2019 Ford Fusion. Kudos to the entire Ford team, to include the amazing people at Ford Motor Credit.
2 stars due to bad experience. A "manager" was rude, loud & condescending attitude in front of his co workers and customers. Upset because he was misinformed regarding a matter that had previously been discussed. I don't argue or do confrontation. Another manager took care of the issue and I spoke with Kim regarding the incident that occured.
After that incident I will most likely not visit and trust my vechicle well being there.
This was my first experience acquiring a vehicle from a dealership. Everyone I came in contact with was very friendly and courteous. My expectations going in were low because of my credit, and with my heart set on one vehicle in particular, I didn t think it would turn out good. Despite my expectations, the experience was phenomenal. I got the car I wanted with the payments I wanted as well! This company is great, and even if it was my first dealership purchase, I ll have to look no further when buying again!
I had a wonderful. experience. They always make you feel welcome and like family. They are willing to work with your needs and help find what you want. David Truman was very helpful and professional. All of the staff was very friendly . We love this dealership, have bought from them before and will definitely buy again.
Rude! I went to co-sign for my daughter and the sales manager was quite rude. My hair is very short but not by choice. It's due to chemo, he made the comment about my haircut being a bad choice. If I had been the one buying the car I would of walked. I will never use them.
Bowdich Ford is by far the best car dealership I have ever been to. They are extremely customer focused. If you have ANY issue they will ensure that it is taken care of and follow up to make sure that you are satisfied. I highly recommend Bowditch Ford.
I dropped my 2011 Ford Fusion off on 10/26/18, to have my car inspected, oil change. On 10/31/18 I was able to pick up my car, they had to replace the right front tire (it was bad), and they had to their computer to find out why my "Air Bag Light" was illuminating. The same Dealership had previously "fixed" this problem once before. So, all in all they fixed the Air Bag Light and I have a fresh inspection sticker. Today, 11/2/18 My "Air Bag" Light comes on AGAIN!! (In 2-days!) So, aggravating! It is hard to justify why this "Air Bag" light KEEPS COMING ON! (not to mention to paying twice to fix it!) .. Little things like NOT resetting my Clock to its correct time, or Leaving my Driver's seat All the way up, and leaving an access panel open under my steering wheel where I scraped my leg on.. those dont bother me so much..
My husband and I had a helpful and attentive sales person at Bowditch Ford. We were trading in a car that we loved but being "older" folks we needed to scale down in size and price. David Truman was our sales rep and very attentive to our needs and a 5 star salesman. If we ever purchase another car we shall seek him out.
UPDATED AND SCORE CHANGED (won't let me give no stars, so they get 1) : A few weeks after this service I was stuck 220 miles from home with a leaking transmission. Local Ford dealer diagnosed transmission pan gasket issue and repaired. Bowditch was kind enough to reimburse me for the cost. Still out a day of vacation.
Two weeks later transmission leaking out of town again. This time a sensor o-rings at rear of transmission. Repaired at my cost and I can't prove it was Bowditch but the other dealer wanted to talk to Bowditch about it and Bowditch won't even have the discussion. Bowditch service manager stated "The other dealer touched your truck last so they own it." Nice, won't even discuss it with the other dealer to determine cause.
ORIGINAL POST BELOW: I cleaned up my truck the day before the service, washed the outside, vacuumed the inside, and cleaned the inside of the windows.
I assume the routine service I requested was done since the truck drove the same after I picked it up as it did before I dropped it off.
I m disappointed that given the excellent condition I keep my truck; it was a bit of a mess when I picked it up.
Front right fender: oily substance smeared over about a third of the fender. So I had to wash the truck again (I just washed it the evening before) to get all the oily substance off.
Under the hood: what appears to be brake fluid spilled in at least 5 places. Not just drips, but significant spills to include a puddle of fluid on top of the air cleaner. Spent 30 minutes trying to clean it all up since brake fluid is pretty rough on surfaces. Couldn t get it all cleaned up where it is spilled on top of a large electrical connection/plug with lots of irregular surfaces.
Oh, the brake fluid reservoir is way overfilled, almost to the top of the neck of the fluid reservoir. There is clearly a max fill line on the reservoir. So, if the service technician can t figure that out how can I be confident he did any of the service correctly? I still need to get out my vacuum pump to remove fluid.
Passengers side window, inside surface: as I stated, I cleaned all the windows. There were four dine sized spots of some white substance on the inside of the window. Then someone put the window down about half way, and back up, smearing the substance all over. So why was someone in the passenger seat and why was the window lowered? I should have checked the mileage to see if someone took it to lunch.
All in all, pretty disappointed and not much confidence the service was completed correctly.
Bowditch did fix the AC spent over $1400, good job. However got my truck back with 18 extra miles, and dirtier than when I took it in. Talk to the service manager, ( his overall attitude it was my fault) got the excuse that they have to drive the truck to diagnose it. Yet, the mileage on the work order said the truck had not been driven. So which is it? After this you would think that Bowditch Ford would at least wash the truck (spent $1400 this time). The truck was returned (to me dirtier than I took it in)with dirt on splash panels, and it was evident it was parked under a tree. BTW, after I got home found a fast food sandwich wrapper between the passenger door and seat. I do not eat at fast food. Guess they needed a ride for lunch Also, Believe it or not got the same lame excuse ( second time) that the car wash was broke., and they could not wash the truck. They had my truck for 2.5 weeks! So much as a loyal customer. We have bought 3 cars and spent over $3200 in repairs the last two years. Yea, I quess I was taken ..... Bowditch Ford attitude: is here is my answer, take it and leave. My strongest recommendation stay way , but if you take your car to Bowditch, put a tracker on your car. Best yet, go to diffent Ford dealer!! Oh yeah their best answer is to contact customer relations, for any problems. I did! Same lame answer, poor attitude, talking down to a customer. This is starting with the service writer up the chain of command. No one taking responsibility, actually blaming others! Be wise spend your money with companies you treat you with curtesy and respect.
Scheduled service (oil change, tire rotation, and inspection) was performed as desired. 2 recall notices were investigated and found to be applicable to my truck, however Bowditch did not have time to correct these at the time of service even though requested when appointment was made. Bowditch was not able to offer a loaner car to have these recalls corrected in the future, which is problematic since my my job report time and leave time is outside of when a shuttle is offered. This is somewhat frustrating since this is a safety error that was made by Ford. I guess I would expect more accommodating service when purchasing a higher priced new vehicle.
The staff was very helpful from the time I walked in the door. They were polite courteous. The new facility is nice and comforting as well I recommend Bowditch to all my friends and family from getting a car to getting their car serviced. You will always leave happy and satisfied.
Bowditch is the place to shop for your new vehicle. Go see David T. A very good salesman that we had the pleasure of purchasing 2 vehicles from. No haggling necessary just ask for what you want and they do their best to get it for you. Freddie is a great finance person that gets the best interest rate for you. Looking for a new vehicle go to Bowditch.
I WILL NEVER BRING MY BUSINESS TO THIS DEALER AGAIN. I WENT TO PURCHASE A VECHICLE. I WAS TOLD I WOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH MY PURCHACE. THEY TOOK MY TRADE, LET ME TAKE THE VECHICLE I WANTED HOME. I COMPLETELY DETAILED THE VECHICLE INSIDE & OUT MYSELF. THE SALESMAN CALLED ME. APROX 1 WEEK LATER AND TOLD ME THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO MAKE THE FINANCING WORK. SO I WAS INSTUCTED THAT I MUST RETURN THE VECHICLE. WHEN I BROUGHT THE VECHICLE BACK, THE SALESMAN TOLD ME THANK YOU, AND BECAUSE OF YOUR EFFORTS, WE DON'T HAVE TO DETAIL IT. THE ONLY ITEM I WAS REIMBURSED FOR WAS THE GAS I PUT IN IT TO BRING IT HOME & AND THAT TOOK MONTH'S TO RECEIVE. I DID GET MY TRADE BACK, IT WAS NOT DETAILED AND REQUIRED A STOP FOR FUEL IN ORDER TO GET BACK HOME.
I recently purchased a 2013 F150 XLT. I heard that Bowditch provided excellent customer service and decided to complete my new vehicle purchase there. Brandon, Dennis, and Carey worked hard to get me the best deal and that is exactly what they did. Initially I expected to be low balled on my trade in, but that's not what happened here. I got what I felt was an excellent value on my trade in based on what I was willing to accept, and to my surprise they even discounted what I felt was a modest amount on the price of the new vehicle that I was going to purchase. In the end I was there for less than the expected amount of time to complete the deal while being offered a beverage of choice. I went to the other Ford dealers in the area and was not very happy in the way I was treated initially, which led me to follow up with Brandon who was exceptionally patient with all of questions and the white knucle test drives I put him through. I've been buying new vehicles over the past thirty five years and by far this was the best experience I had ever had while shopping for a new vehicle. Other thoughts; the new truck which is a V8 actually gets better than the rated MPG on the highway traveling 68mph which seems to be a sweet spot for 21.4 mpg. However the city mph is a bit lower mainly due to the fact that I have been getting into the V8 when challenged by other drivers. Just can't help myself...
Was headed home to Indianapolis from North Carolina when I lost my water pump. Service department understood life isn t cheap when you breakdown on the road traveling, they had everything repaired/replaced in three hours and got me back on the road. Extremely friendly and helpful. If I lived in the area I would use them for all my repair and maintenance needs. Thank you very much.
I bought my beautiful 2007 Ford Mustang at Bowditch Ford. I have been a loyal customer for one year. I took my car to get inspected a few weeks ago ..it failed and needed 2 new rear tires and a ball joint. I called and spoke with the service department ..i told him i found 2 new tires at a other place for cheaper. I said can you mount them on and how much will it cost? He said 20$ per tire & be there at 7:30 Wednesday. I thought great ! Well now i am very very upset! Get there today and am told by H. Wont say his first name ..that we dont mount tires purchased from anywhere but here!! Wow they need to listen!!! Stop acting clueless and listen to what your cusyomers say ..H said i assumed you bought them from us...omg .He did not listen! Then i blow up and get mad and they act like they dont care. So then i get called in the service managers ( MW) and he is so rude....he said well you went and beg and shopped around and stick to one place ....we cant put on tires and chance if we rip them when you purchased them from somewhere else ....he is so rude ! Then he says you got a free inspection...i said yea that comes with the package deal when i purchased the mustang ! So he is insulting me because my inspection was free ! They seriously need to learn customer service skills and learn how to talk to people!! I wish i had recored the conversation ! So sarcastic and rude! I will be talking with the owner about his employees ASAP! I was treated unfairly and rude! I am now at Discount Tire on Jefferson ave Newport News and they are amazing ! Its nice to see people actually have manners and are nice and smile and listen and not waste your time!!! Thank you Matt !
Bill Slattery was my sales representative we met with. He was knowledgable and courteous and definitely knew the details of the car we test drove and eventually bought. Rather than giving us the sales price without the fees, everything was provided in detail so there were no surprises. The financial adviser, Freddie was very helpful in explaining the details of the agreement, which I had never received at any other dealership. Thank you and well done to the entire staff.
Do the warranty on my car I have to go to Bowditch for most services. I spent over 1 1/2 hrs there for an oil change. That's with me getting there at 8am. If I could have gone to Bowditch quick lanes I probably could have been in and out in 30 mins. (45 at the most)
My first post was a big misunderstanding and after talking to Freddie Gates, he set my mind at ease. Truly Bowditch had my best interest in heart. Again, Thanks Freddie.
My experience at Bowditch Ford with the service department was the most positive experience I have with a dealership in my memory. Ken and the group are extremely courteous and professional.
My latest experience with Bowditch was as painless as any auto work could be. The staff was friendly and very welcoming. The waiting area was immaculate with fresh coffee provided. I will be utilizing Bowditch services in the future.
Bowditch Ford Service proved again consistent provision of excellent service. I especially appreciated the cooperation when scheduling my car in for inspection. I was allowed to have someone bring my car in for service as I had fractured knee cap preventing me from driving..
This was my first visit, and I have to say I am extremely impressed with the customer service I have received this far. I wld highly recommend this location for all in the area.
Above and beyond on the part of my sales person, John Barron. On his own time he located a car at another dealership and that evening he went and picked it for delivery to me. Every action on his part was for me, the customer.
Victor is one of the finest salespeople I have ever dealt with. I would highly recommend him and your dealership. Very courteous, friendly and professional.
I dropped off my car, didn t get a status update, I kept calling and the phones would just ring and I pulled the numbers from the website.
When I finally got a hold of someone, he couldn t tell me what was going on with it but that they ordered a part.
Ok, a part for what? So the part was the part wasn t supposed to be in until Monday. Monday has come and gone, I still haven t gotten a status update. Are you working on my car? Is it still waiting on the part? Did the part fix my problem? WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY SUV?!?!?!
I called this morning and they answered the phone the first time and I called too early and the advisor wasn t in yet. And when I said ok thanks, the guy who answered just hung up.
As soon as they do open, I m picking up my vehicle. This is very disrespectful and disappointing.
Update 1 Star to 3 stars
I got a hold of the service advisor who said he d get back within the hour to finalize some notes/updates on the car.
That s all I needed & wanted. No news is not always good news.
Edit again: Back down to 1 Star, I ve showed them multiple times what my BRAND NEW vehicle is doing and they cannot resolve it.
Took my F350 there for a oil change, state inspection & tire rotation. They did a 172 pt check, lubed the 4wd components and more. Glad I bought a maintenance contact. The bill was $243., I owed 0.00!!
Perry my service writer, is great along with the whole Bowditch team!
Joe Garrity, Henry Klein and John the finance manager are the best in the business! Over the top in service and friendliness. We love Bowditch from sales to service, always on par and take great care their cusromers.
My service at Bowditch Ford on Jefferson Ave with Al is always EXCELLENT! They get me in quickly, provide me with transportation to work, and get me up and running and without breaking the bank! I will not take my Ford Explorer anywhere else...
Service advisor didn't seem very knowledgeable, never answered his phone. Always had to call us back. Dropped our truck off a day early, we had an appt for a Thurs morning. They called Thurs and said they couldn't get it fully diagnosed until MONDAY. Then the part wasn't in stock. Finally got it back Wednesday, a week after dropping it off. We normally go to Hall Ford for our service. We will be sure to continue going to Hall Ford in the future. 3 stars because at least our truck is fixed.
As usual, the Bowditch service team provided excellent service. My vehicle was taken into the service bay at the scheduled time, and the work was done promptly and efficiently. Thank You
Buy your Ford from Bowditch! I just purchased the new Ford Focus RS in Nitrous Blue at Bowditch from Walter Holmes, who happens to be the best salesman I've ever worked with and is just a great guy all around! Other local dealers (Cavalier, Beach Ford) wanted me to pay over MSRP for the vehicle so that they could profit more since the vehicle is limited. However, Bowditch treats their customers right and hooked me up with a deal. I ordered the car in November and it was just delivered this week. Walter kept me updated through every step of the way and was more than happy to accommodate all my requests upon delivery. The staff there was great. The tech doing the PDI even brought me out to the shop to let me look underneath the vehicle before taking delivery. I couldn't be happier with the service and they deserve more than 5 stars!
Very easy dealing with the internet sales department. Purchase went quickly and efficiently with no hassle. The car was exactly what my wife wanted and we are extremely happy with our purchase. Would definitely recommend Bowditch Ford to everyone.
They were able to get me in and out with no trouble. And let me know the correct time that the service people leave during the week. Thanks for all you do with my vehicle.
5-star service from Michael Armstrong, Freddie Gates, and the entire staff during the recent purchase of my new 2019 Ford Ranger. First truck I have owned on 25 years and it is a great one. I strongly suggest that you check them out if you are in the market for a new car or truck.
I'm not sure what has happened to Bowditch Ford, but the sales area is terrible. The manager Casey is rude and unprofessional and when I attempted to purchase a car last year told me I was too picky. My husband bought a used truck which we were told had a 3 year warranty but ended up paying extra for a 1 year warranty. We go because the truck is having issues and the warranty that we were told "will cover any issues" does not cover this issue. I have told everyone to not buy from this dealership. I have purchased 2 cars from here in the past, but will never ever buy from here again.
Just purchased a Demo 2018 Explorer Limited that was fully loaded. We were introduced to this fabulous machine by Bill who was kind and patient with us. We had done our on line research and had an Explorer in mind and just fell in love with the first one we drove. The great price might have had some influence on us as it had substantial saving being a 2018/Holiday Savings and it was a Demo.
Everyone was great...even the finace guy. The whole experience was as good as I've ever had.
Service was fine, the administration stuff was not. Paying for the service was not, I can't pay in the manner I want too. I/we want to use American Express and or Discovsr and am told not excepted .
