Very productive courteous friendy staff, and low prices!!!
Bowditch is a great place. I only give it 3 stars because of one of their service writers kept putting me off for routine preventative maintenance that could've ruined my vehicle. However, the Customer Service Manager and the Service Manager fixed the issue and got me taken care of right away. So I would recommend them to anyone, just don't deal with Al if you're a female!!
Bowditch Ford lied to me about a verification process, will never return to this location again.
Awesome service. We needed a new battery ASAP and Bowditch was able to help right away. The service department is always polite and helpful to make sure we are satisfied with the service
2 words, Al Cusano. I m assuming he s a supervisor or something there because he tends to be pretty slammed a lot of the time, But his customer service was outstanding!. Even while he was super busy he did his best to accommodate me and have my car back before I had to be at work. This is a great location anyway, everyone is usually very helpful and friendly, but Mr. Al REALLY looked out for me with this last visit ! MUCH appreciated.
My experience with Bowditch Ford was great especially with all the issues I had with my worthless warranty company (Delta Auto Protect) the service guy named Perry was absolutely wonderful and understanding when it came to my warranty issues I am pleased with my experience and will go back for any future needs
I had a great experience at Bowditch Ford. All the employees were kind and accommodating. David Truman was a great salesman to work with and made sure that I had everything I needed for my first car buying experience :^) thanks David!
Al has a TERRIBLE attitude. Came few months ago he was terrible then, but I shrugged off because I know we all have off days. But now Al's attitude was worse. So I will be taking my vehicle elsewhere for now on. So because of AL the entire establishment gets a bad report. What's worse is I called and I knew who I needed talk to and he wouldn't let me, and he questioned everything I said when though it has been verified by other person. But ALs lack of care for his team or customers cost the entire establishment, current and future business.
Love Bowditch, I have bought 2 cars from them and they service them well! Very nice people! Professional and Courteous!
I very much like the service that i received at bowitch ford i would recommend highly.
Mike, the Service Manager at the Newport News on Jefferson Ave Ford dealership, is one of the most ethical and fair people we have ever come across. He is an asset to the Bowditch family and a professional the company needs to seriously consider for future promotions and or incentives.
He is honest and straight forward, never afraid to say what he has to but always does so respectfully. He listens, truly listens to your concerns and will repeat what he hears to ensure you know he heard you. He shares his own life experiences, thus building trust and comfort. He takes the time to research and investigate, to make an informed decision for each instance presented to him.
One thing is that he is very busy, running from one thing to the next but rest assured he has heard you. Know he is working for Bowditch and the customer at all times.
Al Cusano, service manager is a good solid Ford expert. He handles a lot throughout the day and tries to make the best decisions within his authority. He never hesitates in applying discounts, like military discounts for active or retired service member customers. He has a strong personality so sometimes tends to be overwhelming and may not allow you the opportunity to fully express your concerns, fears or discomforts. However, know he has Bowditch and your interests in mind.
With Mike expertly balancing and overseeing Newport News Bowditch Ford Service, you cannot go wrong. Trust your Ford to Bowditch, they will take care of you.
My first choice when buying a truck great owners and staff
Bowditch Ford did an amazing job of getting my car fixed and getting me back on the road. I was from out of town and they worked hard to get my car ready in a timely fashion so I could keep going. I was treated with respect and care. Every person I came in contact with was focused on making my experience a great one. Thanks to Ken and Bob for wonderful treatment and a car that works. P. S. Sandy was the one there.
Bowditch Ford takes very good care of all our cars and trucks and has done so for many years. We highly recommend them.
Just had my safty inspection done and had them check for a slow leak in one of my tires.
All was done in good time. All the personal have always been friendly.
Thanks again
Timely, customer-focused, no hard push on services and extras. Technical problems explained in layman's terms. Casual yet trustworthy nature of service rep, Perry, immediately puts you at ease.
Service was quick and Al was very knowledgeable. Took time to explain everything to me. Gave me a little discount for the oil change.
Excellent and outstanding service and the hold staff are very friendly and professional at the there jobs in all departments.
My engine light came on Sunday afternoon and I took the car in Monday morning without an appointment. The service department took me in with no problems.
Perry did an awesome job getting oil change and recall work done in a timely fashion. Great work. Mark
Very helpful. Needed to fill out paperwork. Very friendly.
I was able to get my car in the same day I called and it was ready when they said it would be. I will definitely be returning to this dealership for service in the future instead of just going to the Quick Lane.
I bought my car from them in 2013, a 2014 Ford Mustang. They were very personal, friendly, & gave good customer service. I had my car serviced yesterday & I thought I was in the Twilight Zone. They were very a matter of fact, uncaring of people's time, & very unfriendly. Robotic is a term I would use, also rude. Although, I was a few minutes late for my appt, which they were informed, it was near 2pm before I got out of there. When my future son-in-law went to inquire about the time remaining, the assistant service manager of the dept. never asked which car he was inquiring about. He just told him it shouldn't be much longer. Well, that was a lie. A few minutes later, I went up to the desk, the lady was not my service manager, but she reluctantly helped. Though I told them I was waiting No One put that on my paperwork. I spent most of my day in this place...2hrs plus. I met a gentle who had been there since 9 A.M.
When he approached this same dept manager, he was very nonchalant & rude. I will never go there again for service, nor will I buy my next vehicle from them. I was in need of 2 tires, no one asked me about purchasing any new ones. They may respond we were busy & we told her...only after I asked about them rotating them. He also implied that the back tires appeared to be newer. They didn't appear new, they are new. So rude. Since they hv been in this big brand new building they left the most important thing at the old: good old fashion personal customer service.
This is my new place for Ford Service!!! Cavalier FORD almost made me trade my car in for another brand!!!
Everyone at Bowditch was on top of everything. I didn't have to tell them how to do things or explain anything. (speaking from past Cavalier place)
Cavalier told me I had to service my Ford their, knowing it takes me 60 min to get there!!! Thank GOD for BOWDITCH!! They reassured me that FORD dealerships can be awesome!!
I was shopping for a new car. Talked with Brandon several times. I was really dreading car shopping. The last time I bought a new car the salesman was such a jerk - I almost didnt buy it. But Brandon was nice didnt pressure me -just offered to do whatever he could to help me find the car I wanted. So, I went in after getting a couple of quotes and met Frank Spencer. He was FANTASTIC. Walked all over the lot with me - even offered pen and paper so I could write down info. No pressure, nothing but information. Anything I wanted to know - I left the first day and spoke with my friend and my daughter and after some research I knew what I wanted. Went back online and searched the inventory, found the car I really liked. Went to dealer next day and purchased the car. Would highly recommend this dealer. Was very impressed with the way I was dealt with.
My experience was a very good one, through out the hole building/ buying processes!
Was there for 2 and a half hours for a oil change should have been less time
Service experience was smooth, got in and got out in an hour.
Bill and Chris were great to work with and made my experience there pretty stress free which is always nice. I would highly recommend anyone to use Bowditch Ford for their new car purchase.
Staff was very professional and courteous, my sales agent Linda Puglisse was helpful, professional and cared about all of my concerns, got me the vehicle I wanted and I have been smiling ever since.
My finance said he was very pleased with the work done to my burgundy mustangs 5.0. We will continue to use their services at this time. Thank you all for your hard work. Maria and Marland
My car drives much smoother following its 4 wheel alignment; the coupon mailed, saved me funds as well. The waiting room was very comfortable and I was really honored by the great customer service. Catherine and Al specifically, made my visit great!
Recent oil change was completed quickly and we were back on the road.
Awesome service. Al was very professional .The guy Phli was great drop me off and pick me up on time. My car side door was repaired and place the air bag great service.
Went in today because I received one of the promotional flyers and to see what I have won as the flyer stated. I understand it's a ploy to get you there and I was interested in possibly getting a car. I walked around with one of the salesmen and he provided me good information but could not make a decision. Between him and his manager I kept getting told I should take a car out for a test even when I declined a few times, after multiple times I agreed. The car was nice - a 2014 Ford Fusion and rode great. I had a number in my head that I would be willing to pay and was not going to sway. Came back and the number they provided was more than double what I had in mind. Mind you I have a car that runs fine - 2006 Toyota Corolla but does have high mileage. Before going back I checked Kelley Blue Book who provided a trade in in the amount up to $3000 for a fair car and my car is actually in good condition per their specs. Bowditch offered me $300 and when I pointed out the discrepancy they stated they could change it to $3000 - no thank you, you should have done so in the beginning if you accurately researched your information. They tried working numbers and I had to speak to 3 different people while asking for them to return my keys to me more than 4 times.
I had a flat tire and needed a new tire. The tire was in stock and the service advisor Al was able to fit me in to replace the tire.
Another great job at Bowditch. Inspection, oil change, and tire rotation done in timely and inexpensive manner. Thanks.
I never thought I would be driving away in a brand new 2018 Ford Escape. You guys made it happen and I thank you very much. I love my car.. Excellent service and my sales lady Linda was great. I have already recommended others to y all. Well done. Thank you, thank you and thank you...
The salesman, George, was very attentive, friendly, and honest. He gave me a great deal on a great car and answered all of my questions honestly. This is the favorite car dealership of both myself and my father. Would recommend.
I'll never purchase another truck or car from these people. i had to take my truck to another dealership, because they don't listen they remind me of bunch of ostriches.
No pressure was able to look & drive car & get questions answered
I ve been a customer with Bowditch for nearly 3 years until recently due to the total loss of my car. On June 25th, I called to get my warranty canceled and was given the run around. I went into the dealership to be told that there wasn t any paperwork that I needed to be filled out instead that my insurance company would have to fax over proof for my total loss. My insurance company sent over the required paperwork and left a voicemail to which there was no response. It s been two weeks and I still haven t been properly assisted in getting my warranty canceled. They have continued to give me the run around and the professionalism just hasn t been what I was expecting. Especially, since I ve been a loyal customer since 2015. I had no complaints until the recent loss of my vehicle and for that reason I wouldn t recommend anyone to this company.
The Bowditch Team is above excellent in performance. My experiences have all been above all other services. While my vehicle was being serviced, I lost track of time with the many options of relaxing. I also enjoy the opportunity to walk around and look at their inventory. I also see how this team works as one and customer friendly.
I have been bringing my Fords to Bowditch for the last 17 years and trusting Al Cusano for all the maintenance. As I trust him completely with my car's safely and reliability, I will continue to do so in the future.
I let Bowditch put their name plaque on my Toyota Celica.
When I originally went in to purchase a diagnostics on my vehicle, I was told that I needed to make an appointment for two days later because they wouldn't be able to look at it that day. No biggie. Came back on the day of my appointment, only to find out that my appointment meant nothing, and that it "would be quite a few hours before anyone could look at it." I was then offered a shuttle to take me back to work, to which I accepted. I was told to wait in the lobby and someone would let me know when the shuttle was leaving. 20 Minutes go by, nothing. I ask if the shuttle is leaving soon, only to find out the shuttle left without me. Getting in touch with the service department was next to impossible, and had to call the shuttle over 6 times to get them to come pick me up and take me back to the dealership. The diagnostic I received was 100% incorrect and was blatantly lied to about the condition of my vehicle. This caused me to purchase and replace parts of my car that did not need to be replaced, and has left me with an inoperable vehicle. Trying to get this sorted out now, but the individual that was in charge of my service order has not answered her phone or returned my calls, and the service manager "comes in at random times throughout the day." This has been an extremely frustrating experience and I feel as though they do not care about the customer unless they are getting a significant amount of money out of them.
Courteous, good service, fast, I am pleased with the service and the people who work there.
Great service. Very nice new building and service department. Very friendly service team!!!
Do your homework before walking into any dealership! Sadly I didn't do this and almost made a decision I would regret!
Luckily the good people at Bowditch were there to help. They were able to let me test drive the car for a longer period so that I could better decide on my purchase. They also showed me the details on all their models and picked out the ones they believed best suited my interests (since I came into the dealership clueless).
They were understanding when I decided to change my mind, and they did offer an excellent financing deal on the car which I was hesitant to back out of.
The day I went in was busy due to a sale they had going on, but I was still cared for by multiple staff at the dealership who tried to help me get an even better deal on the car of my choice.
The manager herself even helped me to remove the stickers off the car and the plastic off the seats which was an awesome gesture and really showed how much they cared about my customer experience there.
Sadly after giving it some serious thought I decided I wasn't financially able to take on the cost of new car, even with bowditch helping me get financing that I never thought I could qualify for. When I'm in better financial shape I will give Bowditch a serious look!
Don't waste your time with anything Bowditch! Only interested in making a sale, not maintaining a relationship. Don't stand behind their work either!
Had my 2017 Ford Explorer fixed at the Bowditch Collision Center because they have the Ford dealership. Some of the car repair was actually completed at Bowditch Ford. Total repair just under $20K! We got hit pretty hard, some structural repairs were required. Not exactly the best thing for a fairly new car.
I'm still finalizing additional insurance claims with insurance of person who hit me. I made it abundantly clear that I needed to finalize these claims before I could proceed with buying a new car. Staff was more than willing to get me into a test drive (which I did), but helping me to indicate trade-in value, yeah not so much! I've spent a few weeks calling back, talking to now 3 people just trying to get a trade-in value. Basically, they won't put something on paper unless I'm in the process of buying a car.
Here's the good part, as for not standing behind their work, they planned to wholesale the car! They don't even want to have it on their lot. They fixed it, but won't put their own determination of value on the car. They contacted the wholesaler to see about getting a price to sell them the car, but the wholesaler said no. When I told them that I would take that explanation for purposes of using with insurance, they wouldn't even put that on a piece of paper or an email. Thanks for the 5-10 minutes of effort to type that up to help me out.
Basically, don't waste your time with anything Bowditch! I went to Williamsburg Ford and while they were up front indicating they wouldn't buy the car from me, they put something together for me which indicated a value if the car had a clean accident history and a ballpark estimate of what someone might give as a trade-in.
The folks at Bowditch are tops. They go out of their way to make the customer feel welcome all while making sure they get the job done.
These guys need to update thier dam website. I came in thinking I have time to do a state inspection, come to find out they close in less than an hour, 3 hours before the website says they close. Then they refer me to another bowditch, but they don't know their hours... great customer service
Manager that sat behind Ford service desk was a pleasure to work with. Thanked me for my service and after talking with him, I felt confident he was going to make sure my F150 got fixed.
Had to replace damaged tire and complete first oil change. Staff was accommodating and friendly.
I never have a problem scheduling for my car to be seen. Customer service was accommodating and professional.
I wasn't satisfied and felt like I wasn't a valued customer when one of the problem I need checked in my car is regarding my air conditioning not blowing cool air esp when the weather is above 80 degrees. Everyone knows that all it needs is to top the Freon, but I was told it needed to be checked and to cost me $96 bucks, which I cannot afford since my alignment plus changing the rod is already costing me $200+.
I just hope that little favor once in a while will be appreciated esp to single mom like me.
I got my Freon topped costing me just $26 bucks, and able to enjoy my weekend with my pet driving under the 90 degrees weather.
Thank you.
Very good experience!!! My salesmen Joe was outstanding. The sales managers were very professional and nice! They have defintitely earned my future business!
Absolutely hands down the worst experience I have EVER had with a dealership. I take ALL my FORD vehicles to dealerships because I expect quality and expert professional mechanic work. This however was the worst experience I have EVER had. Took my 2008 Super Duty In because I was having issues with regeneration. They told me my intercooler was leaking and I told them to replace it and change the oil and fuel filberts while they had it. They kept it for over a week and I paid 1K for a rental. About a month later while getting fuel I looked under my truck only to notice my drain plug was leaking. I tightened up the drain plug and next day noticed it was still leaking, at this point I looked at intercooler only to notice it had been installed as a damaged part. I immediately took it to back to the dealership and informed service department and it was put into the shop. Technician drained the oil and was going to install the drain plug again without brass crush washer had I not been watching him. Got into a heated discussion with parts department because they thought it was my responsibility to correct the technician. Service department told me they would order another intercooler, this was in January. I was told the intercooler would be in in March. As of this date which is 25 May I have not heard from Bowditch Ford at all. Only thing I have been told is there is an open ticket. At beginning of May I contacted Bowditch Ford only to get run around again. They put a damaged part on my vehicle and charged me full price. They allowed a mechanic to potentially destroy an engine and tell me why don t you stop him had I not been watching the mechanic. I would have been potentially had an engine that leaked out all the oil and been ruined. Now I have a damaged intercooler that is not allowing coolant to circulate properly and if I have an engine that is damaged because of this Bowditch will be responsible. All of my calls and texts have been recorded and this matter has been escalated to Ford Motor Company for resolution. Worse experience I have EVER had with a dealership!
Always have had great service. Prices are what you would expect.
Chelsea was so wonderful! She rushed the repair on my car and made sure I was informed and updated the entire time.
My husband and I were looking to trade in our 2016 Ford Escape. We bought it from Bowditch Ford and were very pleased with the sale and the service department. We basically wanted to try to upgrade to a 2020 Escape SE. I loved the 2016! Our salesman, David Truman was so nice and friendly and helped us get not only the car I wanted, but the deal was amazing! He was so helpful when I saw the 2020 Escape I wanted! The process didn't take very long and he did everything he could to make sure we were happy with the end result! We so much recommend David to anyone who is looking for a car now! Five star rating! You won't be disappointed! Thank you for making our experience such a great one David! I love my new car!!
1st experience-ford fusion cutting off while driving, dealer says nothing is wrong, will not replace fuel sensor, 2nd Experience- Make appointment for maintenance service, show up at designated time of appointment & they can not do it due to (they say) low workforce. OH But they will sell you a car. STAY AWAY!
I used to be a supporter of this dealership, but since they have moved to their new location, customer service and parking are minimal. I have an airbag recall and called them to ask if it was in stock. They told me they had it and to bring in my vehicle. Upon bringing my vehicle in they said they didn't have it and they were going to have to order it. That was 3 months ago and I still haven't gotten a call saying they got the new one.
Update: I did receive a phone call from numerous people at this dealership after this review, but as stated above they have lost my business. I have update their review to three stars because of the attempt to make contact to resolve this situation.
Thank you Susie Perry!! I love my car and you made the process of buying quick and easy!! And..thanks to Carrie Atkins as well! I just got married and signed several forms incorrectly. Geez....she was so patient with me! Again, thanks to Susie and Carrie, will definitely do business at Bowditch again, and would highly recommend to others!!
A local favorite was extremely happy with the purchase of my vehicle I fill out my application online on a Tuesday and that Thursday I was called by Bowditch to come and take ownership of my "NEW BFF (Burgandy Ford Focus)" I was so nervous I didnt even realize I was actually signing my paperwork for my new car. I will and have told friends and family about my experience with Bowditch Ford..I am a happy Ford owner!! Oh I can't forget the sales staff "Ms Susie" she worked so hard for me and made the experience less stressful.

Excellent work, Service Manager wasn't sure they would get to my car that day, they ended up completing by 4:00. Car was clean as if they hadn't touched it, professional well done job. Couldn't be happier. Will go to Bowditch again for items I can't fix myself.
Very professional and courteous the overall experience was great I would recommend anyone to this establishment
Excellent service. Only had to wait less than 45 min.
Worst service experience ever, would rather take the drive to beach ford. Damaged car, said would fix it, never contacted us since and won t return calls.
Found a truck that I was looking for. Sales man was great. Finance was super fast. In and out with a payment that worked for us
I wouldn't recommend buying a used car from Bowditch, nor would I recommend any Ford owner service their vehicle here.
In 2017, I purchased a slightly used 2016 Mustang. I paid more than other dealers were charging, but I thought it was fair because Bowditch assured me the car was inspected by highly trained Ford technicians in a state of the art facility.
Well, I purchased the car and found out that week that the passenger mirror was broken, lights were broken, and the even the windshield wipers weren't working correctly. So much for a 172 point inspection.
Bowditch fixed those issues, but the car still has problems. It has a rattle at idle, but the service department says that they're "unable to replicate the issue".
It's been in the shop numerous times. I've had to take off work and sit in the lobby for hours trying to get this fixed.
Yesterday was the final straw. I spoke to the mechanic working on my car, and he flat out told me "I don't know what it is". I sat for two more hours before the service advisor came up to me and said the techs were unable to replicate the issue and that I'd have to come back another time. What a joke!
Great service on my Fiesta transmission repair. Helpful and safe staff.
I called about an out of state purchase and they took me very seriously. They were fair on pricing, didnt try to oversell me, and made it easy for me to do the deal. They were straight forward and honest. They were even kind enough to pick me up at the airport on Saturday to sign papers and drive off. Communication was courteous and professional. I would definitely buy here again. Staff were friendly, hospitable, and welcoming.
I (Ruth) married into the Bowditch family when I we'd my husband in 1997. I can honestly say they are kind, thoughtful, and go always out of their way to please , and rectify anything that comes their way. Our family has bought more than one car from them, and the reason why? They make you want to come back to what over the years literally becomes like family.
I go out of my way to come here because I can always expect great service.
Everyone was nice and very helpful, the work was done in an appropriate time frame, the only thing that would gave made it better is if they had washed my car too!
The sales dept was awesome. They worked for days to work around a special financing situation I had to get me in a car. I just wish they sold new Chevy cars too and less focus on small cars and SUVs and more on normal 4 door sedans. The only options they really had were the Fusion and the Taurus.
The service department is kind of a mess. Sometimes when you call they are short with you like you're an inconvenience to them. Then there are some oddities. So they have a service center on J Clyde Morris that is more convenient but they don't do appointments, only walk ins and won't do any prepaid, like my maintenance plan with free oil changes and inspections. Then the main location doesn't stay open long enough if you work during the day. So you end up having to take a day off work to go there.
I guess I get low priority when I do the free oil changes. I called one day and they said they could fit me in at 2:30. I got there early and I didn't get my car back until almost 4. I know they rotate the tires and check your brakes and fluids, but almost an hour and a half seems excessive.
Great family owned dealer. No hassle no pressure, in and out in 1.5 hours. And they gave me lunch. Great experience. Will buy from here till I die.!
Everyone was very professional and courteous. My vehicle was completed in a timely manner and all my questions were answered on the spot.
The experience was quick and painless with no arm bending. Thanks and I would buy again from them.
Bought a used Ford Focus with 70K miles on it. After driving the car for 2 weeks and only putting on 2K miles I needed a repair done due to overheating. Come to find out I need a new engine because coolant was leaking into the engine. I updated this from 1 STAR to 3 due to the fact that they are working with me on this issue. Will update it to 5 once I get my car back from them and it runs great. Thanks for working with me.
Thee best dealership to have you repairs done or anything else, great people to deal with. Friendly and always willing to help. THANKS
Over the last 25 years, I have spent thousands at Bowditch Ford buying various parts for numerous used vehicles I've owned or refurbished, plus I bought one used Mustang there. I have not purchased a new vehicle since 1986 and looked forward to treating myself to a "retirement truck" ... but I was not looking forward to the vehicle purchase process. Mr. Will Allen, a relatively new salesman at Bowditch impressed me with his ability to breakdown the (what I consider) daunting process and make me feel comfortable and at ease. Granted, I know I can sometimes be a royal pain in the hind-parts, but Mr. Allen tolerated my every concern with much patience and grace. Kudos to him! Throughout the purchase process, the entire staff at Bowditch strived to make me a satisfied customer, and did so in a very professional and courteous manner, tending to each and every detail I addressed. Kudos to all of them. Am I satisfied as a new vehicle buyer? Would I deal with Bowditch again in the future? Would I recommend Bowditch to others looking to buy a vehicle, parts or service? Yes, yes, and yes.
We went in for inspection as always had great service.
