This hotel was beautiful and in a beautiful area! Every person who works here was helpful, pleasant, and professional. Our room was very clean and maintained, and the bed and pillows were super comfortable! The ground floor lounge/restaurant was amazing too from the delicious meals and good drinks to the decor and comfortable seating. I look forward to staying here again!

I spent two nights at the Clayton Hotel on a business trip. In the evening arrived by taxi from the airport. Hotel beautifully lit up. Reception is spacious and cold. Service is ok. The rooms are spacious but not very practical. I missed basic needs: eg kettle turned out to be hidden in a cupboard in the wardrobe. Not convenient.
At first glance, everything looks impressive. At second glance, it is all a bit old and done up in a wooden way.

Our room was cold .... restaurant staff took so long to take our order then didn't take a drinks order and it took sooo long for each course to come out my boyfriend and I wondered if they had gone to the farm to get the cow and then wondered if they had gone back to the farm to get milk and make the ice cream..... we also wondered if the waitress went to Mexico to get the bottle of Sol my boyfriend ordered! ..... garlic mayo Was on the menu with another dish but yet it wasn't available for me to get some with my stake! Staff in reception are lovely! Staff in hotel seem under pressure and totally unable to do their jobs! We watched 3-4 couples/groups get up and leave as they waited so long!
And then.... no cocktails served in the bar!!! Why????

The setting for the hotel is beautiful and the staff are friendly. However, the curtains in my room were filthy. A dinner menu was displayed at reception but the restaurant was not open. No-one offered to help me with my luggage. It was to have a special evening for my family but it fell short.

Thank you Clayton Hotel Ballsbridge Dublin for a perfect weekend, great location, really friendly welcoming staff , very comfortable , just couldn't fault it. Location was key to be close to the RDS to see Bon Jovi and this was perfect. Room was perfect.
The breakfast was amazing (Mum wants to know where you get your sausages?!?!) ,
Just really could not fault this hotel and look forward to returning.

At arrival we were very well received but despite running my credit card we were not properly authorised to charge things to our room. No one took the trouble to inform us about the reduced car parking for residents. In the bar at 5.30 pm there was one girl trying to serve a full bar. The result was total chaos, it took 30 mins just get a drink and over 2 hours to get fed. When we complained at reception all we got was "sorry sir". NOT GOOD ENOUGH, you need to improve. Also there was no bath mat in our Superior Room.

It's a 4 star hotel, so it could still stand some improvement, such as more of the latest gadgets and toiletries. But the staff are ver pleasant for a European city. Keep up the good work and always keep improving.

All services from the hotel were fine, including the breakfast and I had dinner at the restaurant, also good.

Room is basic, bit classic, bathroom great.

NOTE no secured internet what I always find a bit difficult as I can't work other than via my secured hotspot than, but the stay all by all was fine.
I would have like the hotel to have available bicycles and a reflecting vest as using taxi or public transport in Dublin is dramatic.

I was very excited about staying at this hotel for the location and thought it would be as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside. I was very very disappointed. The hotel was extremely overpriced. I almost moved after checking in then realized I had pre-paid. Never again. No air circulation whatsoever in the room on the hottest days of the year. No hair conditioner, lotion. Shower so small that I kept bumping my elbows on the walls. I do not recommend this hotel. My first impression of a Clayton Hotel- not a fan.

Beautiful hotel, the hall and restaurants are really nice, the floors a little bit old fashioned.
Rooms were big, nice and comfortable.
I did not like that there were some machine making a small noise that bother me a bit, but the rest was OK.
Good food also.

The hotel is beautiful outside and inside, the room are spacious and comfy, so are the beds. Yet breakfast needs improvement: not only the avaliable choice is very narrow, particularly on sweets, but even the irish brekfast leaves room from improvement, starting from scrambled eggs, quite gelly, far from being creamy.
Coffe was not good either, unfortunately. A bit more body to teh taste would certanly help. Other than that we were disappointed by a small incident: at 5.45 pm, when we went to our room for a stop and a break, it wasn't done yet, so we had to wait for another half hour for the room to be ready.

The hotel is fantastic, very pleasant staff, helpful and polite. The hotel and ground is very well maintained and kept cleaned inside and out, it was an ideal location for us, as we were attending the MCM Ireland Comic Con at the RDS Simmonds Centre around the back, less than a 5 minute walk. The Airport bus stopped right outside the hotel.

The only issue we did experience but won't stopped me from dropping to a 4 was both Friday and Saturday night, it took nearly an hour to get food and drinks brought to our table, this was due to a Rugby match one night and then another match the following night. We were offered free drinks as an apology on both nights, which you can't argue with.

I will definitely be staying again when Dublin Comic Con is back on!

I had a great time at the clayton hotel. My stay was truly enhanced by the wonderful service given by your staff.

A small detail that was disappointing at the time but didn't affect my stay or my overall experience was bad coffee served during the breakfast, however the rest of the breakfast was lovely and the service was quick and friendly.

I had a lovely room, very comfortable bed, great facilities and an excellent experience.

We booked this hotel at a premium rate on a saturday night as there was a concert on in Dublin. We then looked to change the booking to a different night, We were allowed to do this but we were disappointed that the hotel would only do a swap for one night even though the rate for midweek was much lower than the cost we had prepaid for the Saturday night.

When we went to eat in the restaurant on the night of our stay the restaurant manager informed us that as they had a booking for 60 people we would be better off to eat in the Bar as the kitchen for the restaurant would be too busy. We agreed to eat in the bar however this meant we could not avail of the early bird menu. We ordered fish and chips and a lamb dish costing a lot more than the early bird menu. After waiting 45 minutes and no sign of the food we asked the waiter about the delay. He apologised saying that the there was only one chef on duty. He eventually brought the food nearly an hour after ordering. It was not worth the wait. It was awful.
When checking out we mentioned this to the receptionist. She said she would have a manager contact us before the end of the day. Still waiting for the phonecall. Absolutely appalled at the lack of customer service. I could not recommend the Clayton Ballsbridge to anyone.

Extremely nice hotel with a very well presented feel to it. It is in a part of Dublin that is really nice to walk around. Can be a little expensive but is worth the price because of the location. Room was very well presented too. Would visit again.

It's fine. The beds are comfortable and the staff are friendly and competent. The breakfast is adequate and a good start to a full on day of exploring. The recent renovations will be short lived, however, as they were poorly and cheaply done and already showing wear and tear damage.

Don't book this place! Worst experience! The rooms need a deep cleaning but the worst part is the fact that you are not going to be able to sleep sine they rent their hall for parties. I did not feel treated as a guest and the fact that the manager team decides to have loud music next to the bedrooms is utterly wrong. Staff was extremely polite and apologied but they had no other rooms available so I had to stay awake until the party ended. If the management team isn't changed I see this place goin bankrupt. Too bad the building has so much history and the area is exactly nice.

Beautiful structure, historical but perfectly functional. Currently 4-star hotel with high accommodation capacity was born in 1880 as a Masonic school for orphan girls, only since the end of the 80s after several passages it becomes a hotel and undergoes various improvements until 2014. Rooms in excellent condition, excellent breakfast and excellent restaurant .

A very nice and very cosy place, staff is very nice, the only things I've had going wrong were my room card not working and the bed sheets were a bit too warm.
Would definitely come again.
It's well positioned as there are some pubs and such just up the road.

The hotel is very traditional looking on the outside but very modern inside. The lounge area is impressive and the rooms are clean and comfortable. Breakfast was nice but I would have liked to see more vegetarian/vegan options on the menu. Reception staff are friendly and helpful.

I was reluctant to contact you via the social media or Google Review channels as I wanted to give you the opportunity to clarify what happened first which I feel is fair and I was sure you would be able to do. However, I have now attempted to contact you twice via email but have been ignored to date.

I am contacting you with regards to the bill we received at lunch yesterday (it was three weeks ago now)and would like some clarification as to how the final figure was arrived at.

Myself and two colleagues arrived around 1.30 p.m for a light lunch yesterday. One of them opted for a full carvery, (very reasonably priced at 11.95) Myself and my other colleague were not overly hungry so we decided to just have a hot joint sandwich each. I opted for chips while he decided to go without. As I was paying, he informed me of this. I also informed the lady who was at the register. I was told that it makes no difference whether or not you want the chips, the price is still the same. Being with my two colleagues and not wanting to embarrass them, I decided not to argue the point as I thought it will only be a few euros either way. I was sorely mistaken. The full bill for one chicken dinner, two roast beef sandwiches and the tiniest "bucket" of chips came to 35.85! I feel that by anyone's standards, this is ludicrous!

Prior to this, we have come to your hotel many times and have enjoyed a hot joint sandwich, chips and fries for 8 - 9 over a business lunch. Receiving a bill for 11.95 for just a sandwich on its own beggars belief. I must stress that the woman who served me was extremely polite and friendly as she explained the full price policy and I have no fault whatsoever with her.

I would be grateful if you could clarify your pricing policy with regards to this situation and explain how I was forced to pay for something I did not ask for or want. By this reckoning and logic, were I to have opted to have only fries, would I have been forced to pay for the sandwich?

Very nice coffee to go for 2 euro, *Updated back to high standards. *update prices have changed, if you are looking for a sandwich you might want to go towards the city center (10 minutes walk)where you can get a sandwich for 2 euro less than here. Coffee price hike of 65 cents

Very nice, well connected and very friendly reception. But the pillows brought me contracture and housekeeping ate my snickers.
The buffet breakfast with plenty of choice and all very good except the coffee, it was disgusting.

We attended a family wedding on sun the 26thof March, and we all had the most amazing time. The venue was just beautiful, and the all the staff we met throughout our stay were extremely friendly, helpful and polite. The service was top notch, nothing was a problem, and the food was delicious . All your staff are a credit to your hotel, and should be highly praised. Sometimes a venue can be just amazing but let down poorly by the attitude of the people who work there, this was definitly not the case here! Your fantastic staff made our stay even more enjoyable . The personal touch & friendly nature of everyone from those who worked in reception, waiting and bar staff to housekeeping was second to none, keep up the good work, it makes all the difference to a guests experience .

Overall, the hotel was fine. I had a prepaid reservation but the desk clerk kept trying to charge me and argued I had only reserved the room. It took a manager to point it out on her screen that it was prepaid. Room was nice, but our shower had mold. Overall ok, but somewhat disappointed.
