GSU Recreational Center Review

I love this place got everything . Ping pong, air hockey,pool, and free weight which I love.

When I was a student back in 2013-2014, the Rec Center was the place to be at and still is. A lot to do.

Good vibes, plenty of machines, always clean, and gets me swole!

If you are looking for a place to work out, exercise, or pick up a new hobby, this is the place. From squat racks to dance classes this place is loaded with activities. All the equipment is fairly well kept and there is plenty of space to have multiple games of basketball played simultaneously.

Love the gym. There could definitely be more squat racks in the bottom level. Otherwise, the gym gives me everything I need and more. Everytime I go it's pretty empty, but that's early morning. The pool always has lanes open for swimming, as well.

Great gym! Kinda hot, but most of the equipment you would ever want with classes almost every day.

A little overcrowded but still quality workout and lots of options

Love the gym and the pool, wish there was a better spot to lay in the sun.

I love the whole facility but I wish the arcade had more stuff to do in it.

Can be a busy place but has great trainers. The aquatics center in the basement is a must-visit place if you love to swim/enjoy sauna etc.

Great equipment, mediocre service, terrible software. (It takes 5 weeks to process the most simple request)

Love coming here. Very fun atmosphere. I love working out, then swimming, and then hitting the sauna. And it s a great place to hang with friends in the game room or playin ball on the court. Love this place fasho.

Nice facility but there are some upkeep issues. Less used parts of the rec center aren't kept as clean as they should be.

It has plenty of features for workout and exercise. For students or staff

Great! It has everything you'd think of! Basketball, indoor soccer/volleyball, workout classes, and my favorite is the running track! There's a pool and a sauna.

Lots of equipment to use tons of great staff to help you in everything you need and there's always a different activity to do every time of the day it's really easy to get yourself to exercise with everything going on

They've got a lotta things you can do. Make use of the money that you've spent

The recreation center as a whole is resourceful when looking for new activities to join, a space to work out in, or relaxation by the pool. However, due to an unpleasant experience with a staff member I have yet to go back on account of my own personal preference.

This Rec center is almost overfilled during peak hours, so I come by late at night. There are only 2 squat racks and usually occupied all the time. Lots of waiting time for your turn. Plenty of dumbbells for everyone. Inside track for cardio (8 laps = 1 mile).

Lacking squat racks downstairs at the gym. Other than that, great facility for students.

Not very accommodating...could not answer simple question even after seeing 3 different people....girl at help desk did not know address of building she was working in

Go when it's slower and it's amazing. Space, tons of equipment, and I love the lap pool 25 ft long I think...

It's a big gym with lots of amenities but the majority of the equipment looks and feels like it was made in the 90's. It desperately needs updating. It's also typically very hot and humid. Some staff is polite, but there are also many staff members who just sit there and talk to their friends instead of monitoring the room to make sure people are treating the equipment with care and putting up weights after using them. Overall, it's better than some gyms I've tried, but it definitely has room for improvement. I.E. train the staff and be more strict with them and update the equipment

Downstairs weight room is crowded during certain times throughout the day. Morning and Weekends are probably the best time to go.

I work out at LA fitness but this is more convenient for after class. Went here for the first time today and my fingerprint didn't read because I had not yet signed my waiver, which was fine. I had to get scanned in with my panther ID. I only went to the main floor and as soon as I got on the elliptical I had a staff member tell me that we aren't allowed to workout in tank tops and that my bag had to be stored in a locker. We pay for this amenity through our tuition and I feel like we shouldn't have to be forced to workout in t-shirts. Furthermore, I don't trust leaving my bag in a locker. Upon leaving we have to SCAN our panther ID to be let out. Every time I scanned my ID the girl at the front desk would be scanning someone in as I was trying to leave. The other staff member kept telling me to wait. The front desk was just very unorganized and I won't be returning.

It's a great gym with lots of equipment and facilities. No complaints. I usually go in the early afternoon on weekdays and haven't had a problem with it being overcrowded.

They have everything a student could want for physical stimulation

There are so many fun activities available at the rec center.

Great staff and love the outdoor adventure Dept. Called Touch the Earth. They have the best trips!

Clean, and comfortable. Has plenty of ways to get in shape, tone up and have a blast with friends.

Nice and clean. However, overcrowded M-F. GSU should expanded their facilities to accommodate its growing population.

Great gym for students. Provides a lot of different options for students - whether it be running the track, using the basketball court, going to fitness classes, using the weights, racquetball, etc.

It is normally pretty empty. This is good because you have the option to pick where you want to workout. It does have limited workout machines, but the pool is fantastic!

Recreation is very good. It can be much better because there are no advanced equipments which should actually be present. The running track and game areas are super good. Especially the volley ball courts which are huge and comfortable for big games. Best part is timings, rec center is mostly open except the nights. The staff are always helpful.

The facility itself is fine and the students who work there are perfectly nice but there is an over-all problem with the management. The second you walk in you are basically made to feel like you're there to cause trouble. I've never personally had an encounter with management here but every time they're out in the gym they are either harassing the patrons, walking in the way of people who are trying to work-out, or harassing the student employees for trivial things like being in their phone or leaning. All of the upper management look like they have never exercised a day in their life - they just seem to be there to uphold some sort of "professional" atmosphere which they are utterly falling to create because they're always out there micromanaging and getting in the way.

GSU-62 students can use this wonderful facility. I'm a member of LA Fitness but I much prefer to exercise here. Indoor track is a real bonus.

This facility & all that it offers is fantastic for the GSU student body. (Not sure if open to non students)

Best place on GSU's campus to get a workout in. Everything you need is here. They have free weights, treadmills, elipiticals, a martial arts room,, yoga classes, a dance room, literally everything you need. On the most top floor there's also an indoor track. The staff there are almost all comprised of GA State students. There's a pool and even a steam room.

It's a pretty good in place to work out it has a sauna a workout center upstairs and downstairs a full basketball court a place to play volleyball and a track that is half the size of another track

My favorite place on the whole campus!a lot to do, great places to eat, rest and recreate!

It is a really great rec center and has all kind of facilities that you can think of in a gym.

As a Student, the Recreation Center is a wonderful place to unwind from the stress of classes or to pick up a hobby. The staff is incredible at what they do, and you come in feeling calm and peaceful.

It's a bigass gym. What else do you need to know? The bouldering wall is a joke though.

This place has everything! A pool, sauna, large free weights room and friendly staff. I thoroughly enjoy using the facility.

The omni gym on the third floor has to be shared among numerous activities. Plainly annoying.
Most of the staff are either bossy, self-righteous or inexperienced
It took them a years to fix the cable network
People at the turnstiles set up a security theater by forcing you to forcing you to give them a glance at your panther ID. Thanks you guys for keeping us safe! Because apparently bad people are gonna use MARTA card to get in! FFS what's wrong with you people?!
Wrote lots of feedback and not many things have improved. Can't believe i have to pay a lot of money for these people for this kind of treatment (you can't opt out btw).
If it wasn't for the janitors, who are friendly, I would give 1 star, or 0 if possible! My God
