After a long, tiring road from Chalkidiki, in order not to torture my family for a few more hours of driving to Sozopol, I decided to spend the night in Bansko. Stood on the Greek highway and for a long time choosing a hotel. The choice fell on the "Balkan gem" and, in principle, did not lose. A huge room, two bedrooms, a fireplace (though not inflamed). Downstairs spa with pool (small), Hammam, sauna. Breakfast is paid, but not bad. If someone from Sozopol, the place resembles Santa Marina, but certainly less.

Nice and clean. More of a ski resort. Spa lovely. Car a must.

Really loved it first time we've visited. A bit too crowded & noisy when we get back a year later.

There were a bunch of irregularities that ruined my 7-day stay during the New Year. For a welcome ice room, because according to the management the weather outside was "soft" (temperatures drop below zero all winter in the mountains) and they had not taken into account that the warming takes more than a day. For a cover they wanted BGN 20 for a one-time fireplace, although this should have been a compliment given the temperature in the room and the fact that the price on the site was BGN 10. After our signal, they thought to update their information. Also, for each charge we were required to walk to the reception to pay the BGN 20 in question. Extremely uncomfortable and absolutely against the comfort of the guest, considering that my room was in a block away from the reception. The New Year's offer, which was offered to me when booking, included transport to Bansko, fitness, jacuzzi, but all these extras were not available during my stay. I realize that they are dropped as a measure against the spread of Kovid, but in that case the management must take into account and remove them from its seasonal offers. At the front desk, they just smiled, shrugged, and repeated that this was hotel policy. In fact, I heard at least two scandals at the reception from dissatisfied guests due to the fact that the offers did not present the real prices. The food was extremely monotonous, and unfortunately we didn't have many options in the area. The most absurd thing was how they had mixed the croissants with butter and chocolate for breakfast, and it was a lottery that I would like. It was also comical how plain cream was presented as tiramisu. I add a star to the review because on the 4th day they offered fish in the restaurant, after my daily inquiries. A big minus are the thin non-soundproof walls and I was a passive "participant" in all the parties of the neighbors. A very bad impression was made by the fact that the hotel management was seated every night at the best table by the fireplace, which is an exact reflection of how important the comfort of the guests is for them. We tried several times to keep the table, but each time we received the answer that it was reserved for the bosses. Unfortunately, I can't recommend the hotel to my friends, on the contrary!

Great service. Great view. The menu during the COVID pandemic was small, but from what I saw was pretty enough and the food was delicious. Also, I think that breakfast should start a little bit earlier, that'be great for the people who want to go hiking. Please consider this as a recommendation, not an insult. We will visit again!

The rooms are ideal but the food and the spa are under all criticism.

There is no a inside corridor to the SPA center from the other buildings and there were no bathrobes in the rooms. This way it is too complicate to visit the SPA. The TV is positioned in the "living room, and I would like to be in the bedroom. The food was more oily than I like it. The hotel shouldn't bicycles on rent, at least until they don't buy new working, comfortable and safe ones. The existing ones were in very bad condition.
I would recommend also to get ready earlier with the outdoor pool next year, i think 1st of June is a great date for opening it, cause there werw many tourists that wouldn't fit to the indoor pool.

The things that I really liked were the friendly staff, the room mountain view and the comfortable bed - at least I slept a lot and good in this situation with complicated SPA and no outdoor pool. :)

The rooms are big, clean and convenient. The hotel offers peace to the forest, lush green grass. The pool is gloomy but the water temperature is great. The children's play area is nicely thought out. The restaurant is not excellent but you can opt for the breakfast buffet. If you come by car, don't worry about the distance to the city Araba

Good place to relax, there is a nice playground, the only disadvantage is that the spa is not warm connection and bathrobes are paid

Nice Resort with almost everything inside. There is more to be desired from the restaurant (to ordinary and small) and the swimming pools both indoor and outdoor (are unimaginably small considering the size of the resort) . Other than that a time well spend.

- The lack of dry rooms with rinsers, very small parking (actually parking as in Bucharest, on the sidewalk), the small pool where you smell the chlorine smell, 15 me by car from Bansko

This is the worst experience I've ever had at a 4* hotel. First of all. I've been sick after every meal the food is absolutely awful. And caked with oil. Secondly, the wifi may reach the entire complex but it is slow and can't even load a video. The pull out couch is abysmol and the bathtubs have leaks in them. Not to mention there is this huge group of some organization in blue shirts staying here. No warning whatsoever. They hold cult like meetings at 7am and yell loudly and wake everyone up. They are also extremely abnoxious at night. 10/10 won't stay again.

Personal belongings disappeared from my room. I spent one night here on an event. In the morning I went to the hotel restaurant to have breakfast. When I got back my swimwear, flip flops, phone charger and handsfree were missing. These were all the things that I left on visible places like the table and the bed. I turned to the hotel employees for help but they didn't seem to be sympathetic to the problem and said they don't have a way to track back if someone has entered the room while I was at the restaurant. I'm just glad and lucky that I didn't leave something more valuable in there.

Close to the party, clean, elegant ... It smells fresh all over the hotel. The fireplace awaited us with a firearm ready for fire. We felt wonderful.

A beautiful, fun place located very convenient in relation to the city of Bansko

A great place for summer holidays in the mountains. Traveled by car, so access to local attractions was not limited.

It's a good posh hotel the view is amazing but the oven seem to always smoke there was no brush or non stick frying pan and the silver wear draw is place right next to the floor I need to bend down each time. Staff are lovely it has a great outside and in side pool equipment with a nice gym and a tasty restaurant.

Although quite remote, we had a fantastic time here. Good quality food and drink, and the staff were very friendly, especially with my 4yr old grandson.
The resort offers a shuttle bus into Bansko and to the local Lidl, but transport is highly recommended

The food is old ... several times I took food at home for the kids and threw it out, once the soup spheres smelled of the carrion.

It was lovely in regards to Meals and accommodation.
Downside for us was no aircon available in summer. Room was hot and stuffy.
Yes we could open a door and or window but that let in noise of revellers that were noisy after 11.00pm.
We travelled far for an overnight stay.
Looks like it caters well for familes

I am a loyal guest to the hotel. The location is good in terms of nature lovers (outside you can admire the mountains). The studio is very cosy and the balcony a paradise. The spa included in the cost is clean and chic, but a bit too small when the hotel is 50% full. You can rent bikes. There is a free shuttle to the golf club and Bansko. I strongly recommend.

Had an amazing new years eve and extended my stay with days. Great facilities super friendly staff.
Definitely will be back again.

Great nature and excellent conditions in the hotel!

It was a good experiance. The rooms are cozy and clean. The problem is that the spa is in the main building you have to go outside to go there. There isn't anything interesting in the region of the hotel so you have to travel with car to the resort. The food in the restaurant is not so good. Some of the dishes were tasteless and overcooked.

Hotel to stay if you want good service, good access to the mountains and to enjoy expectionally beautiful scenery.

The hotel is for 10, it is very clean, the beds are comfortable, the food is great, the apartments are clean every day ... the staff is kind, we will surely come again.

First impressions were great. The receptionist was very polite and informative. The rooms are dated but comfortable. (Very thin walls). It was when it come to the restaurant/bar where the issues began. Outside the Balkan jewel resort there is a British flag flying. Trust me when I tell you. No one speaks English except on reception. It was a constant battle with the restaurant. I had a hair in my food on 2 occasions. The waiters very rarely cleaned the tables so they were constantly dirty. Now the spa. It clearly says they have a spa manager. (This employee wasn t seen in the entire 7 days) the spa would be nice if it wasn t for the 10+ children diving in the pool every 10 seconds and destroyed every single chance of relaxation. No control. This hotel has great potential but the owner really needs to tighten down on his staff because they are unprofessional. Please take this on board and improve your hotel. Regards, Lewis

Very nice bright and spacious rooms. Nice personel. Only the environment around the hotel leaves much to be desired. They are hotel ruins. Otherwise we were very satisfied and will gladly come back. From the balcony: fantastic view of the mountains.

Great place.
But I was badly impressed by the reception staff. When I found the complex on the "Booking" site, I did not see a bedroom option, I called to ask, I was told that there are separate glued beds (yes normal practice in many hotels), and when I asked where to book 2 rooms, on the site or in the moment we talked, they answered "now", and it turned out to be more expensive than if I had done it through the "Booking" site, as I had started doing it. The site explicitly wrote in 2 separate lines in large letters that the rooms have a "balcony" and a "terrace", but it turned out that it was not true, and I was accommodated in a room without a balcony. They were more expensive than I am. paid.

And it turned out - BGN 66 room without a balcony, and with a small tall window like a prison. I was quite disappointed by this fact, with the feeling that I had been deceived and deceived by the reception staff.

Two to three star , linen although clean is cheap as are the bed pillows rooms are tired , kitchens are NOT fully equipped as advertised somewhere, & a bit small. we had to ask for a kettle , restaurant a bit limited on the food do not do steaks, mainly soups salads pizza not silver service type of restaurant, the rooms are nice and warm
the pool very small mirrors make it look big , place a bit out the way but free bus be warned the bus is driven by one of the handy men they go home at 5pm in winter,staff are very very friendly but the resort compared to Hot Springs is only in my opinion 2 star

Very quiet and pleasant hotel complex.
In the morning the silence is cut with a knife.
The rooms are cleaned every day, by friendly staff, aiming only at your comfort, to be up to standard

The rooms are clean and nice. Food as a variety is a little bit special for dinner. The spa center and rather the indoor pool is quite small. Showers do not work.

Just returned from a great stay at this charming resort. Staff so helpful espically Emil on reception!! Only comments are on few broken things in room (my sink flooded) and the lack of sun beds. Staff need to crack down on guest putting towels on beds at 7am & not using them till afternoon. Free shuttle service was great too!

Really nice hotel located among picturesque nature! Rooms (we were in 2 family apartment) are spacy, clean, one-time balcony view, fire place, well-equipped kitchen with everything needed. Staff (reception, cleaning ladies, waiters) are A-class customer service, extremely kind and nice.
Breakfast is a bit simpler than expected (buffet).
We took advantage of an organized Easter lunch which was great! Meal and service was fantastic!
There is great kids' zone: playroom for toddlers, separate room for kids, another space where they organise kids' disco. Best part is the wow animator they have! Mitko is doing great with children and they live him.
There is an open playground in the yard, next to the pool (working only summer).
We haven't used the spa, so no comment about it. People said, though, it is not connected with the other buildings of the complex. Running wrappers is a standard event :)
There is table tennis (2 or 3 tables), billiards, mini football, fitness, rent-a-book corner.

Long story short: great to.go with children not only during winter but all seasons.

I give the first star becouse the food for the brekfast is really good and tasty but when the clock hits 10 they just get everything back where they took it from and they do it as fast as possible! Second star I give it becouse of one half of the personal like the lifeguard he is really cool guy tells jokes and stuff and the yard is clean. I am not giving third star becouse the spa is awfully small the metal reflective stainles steal plates hanging around the inner pool are rusted and all in chroline, they turn off the spa heating all the time and you need to wait aloth for rewarming. I am not giving the 4-th star becouse When I go to the reception and ask for towel I am bare naked and ask can you please give me a tollow you already have my id charege the room, they tell me the policy does not allow me to give you one you need 10 euro deposit and we will deduct you 3 from it. Why I am not giving the 5-th star and why I will not go to this hotel anymore is: I forgot one black case with expensive tooth brush and expensive trimmer with few minor things of my wife. We called the next day, they said don't worry we will check and call you back! They never called! Maybe they threw them away maybe not but be careful that the personal can be careless bout your stuff! Otherwise the cleaning of the room is OK nothing special. ooo one more thing, the parking that is inside the hotel when ever you get out of it it is on a high angle and you scratch your car!

Great view from out terrace! Cosy apartment, clean, all necessary amenities available and working. SPA centre is very small compared to the number of rooms. Parking close to the hotel might be an issue although we did not have any problems to find a parking place right in front of the hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the hotel to families with children.

The apartment we were staying in was dirty, since we entered it I saw bugs on the floor. The service was unacceptable because everything we kindly asked for was declined. At some point we felt shy to ask for anything. We asked for bigger woods for the fire place and we were given even less than expected. The cleaning was poor, because only clean towels were offered, no vacuuming and no new sheets. I do not recommend it at all and if possible book a different hotel. The only plus was the view and the size of the apartment.

Excellent hotel. Staff friendly and pleasant. The rooms incredibly and very warm. They also made a spa renovation by putting 2 indoor pools. The food is good and cheap. With such prices at the hotel it is not worth a drink in the village.

This hotel is just the best. The staff are all friendly and helpful. Our room got cleaned every day. The spa is just amazing especially the relaxing room with the heated spa bed and automatic soothing music. Food was spot on every time. Also the prices were very good value for money. We had an amazing restful holiday and cannot wait to visit again.

The spa is naked, except for the jacuzzi. From 5 zones, 3 do not work. For the steam bath you have to call at the reception to let it go and after 1 hour stops automatically and again. The reception is 20 meters without warm connection and pass through the restaurant.Unjoyable even for a 3 star hotel! The outdoor pool temperature is 10 degrees. The interior is a parody. At 7am, 90% of the sunbeds of the outdoor pool are now reserved. 90% of the sun loungers of the outdoor pool are now reserved. Then people are gone by day and the person who wants to use the sunbed can not. For 3 days cleaned only one way the rooms and the last day.Shummo.Very overrated hotel.For these money there is where better hotels.With plus the attitude and rooms.

It deserves the most, many facilities, perfect for vacation

A fantastic place my family have ever spent our usual European holiday. Lovely people, kind and gentle staff, hard working domestic staff, kitchen staff and tireless drivers, indefatigable Receptionists -especially Rosie. I love and recommend Balkan Jewel in Bulgaria.

The hotel is situated near the pirin mountains. It offers free spa facilities like sauna indoor pool steam bath jacuzzi. It also has an outdoor pool. Restaurant opens almost all the day with a variety of food. The food is ok but nothing special. Rooms are cleaned every day. Hotel offers a free shuttle bus to near by towns.

Very nice rooms, clean, warm and new!
The spa is nice although a little small, just the small pool that is and jacuzzi is very main, the big minus is that to go from his room to the spa he has to walk outside !!!
It does not have a very good breakfast, it has a small variety and when something is finished they do not fill up again.

Nice hotel, good food and good service.
The disadvantage is the small SPA zone, which, in the presence of more hotel guests, is highly crowded. Especially when one of the two saunas is not working.

Excellent value for money, had a weeks stay here. The rooms were nice and clean and for the price I have no complaints. Only suggestion would be to have more pans and the pillows aren't very comfortable otherwise its been a pleasant stay. Thanks

This is heaven.
Wonderful view, great food for great price, music in the restaurant is nicely picked. Staff is friendly, the reservation manager very peaceful and pleasant to talk to.
Rooms are well equipped with everything you need.
Cleaned to perfection.
Various places for kids to play in good and bad weather.
The nature is what makes this place special, but the hotel owners did their job well.

My only recommendation is to keep the pools cleaner (especially the inside one) and more info on the lockers in the changing rooms.

Stayed there twice now and although it's convenient for skiing on both occasions it was spoilt by loud parties in the adjacent rooms. Up to 4am this time with loud music. Won't be returning.

It s a 3 star plus complex of villas with 4 buildings...one with the spa...little spa but good for the money...a very big 2 badroom apartment...very nice and clean...we will come back for sure next year.

Nice and friendly staff. The rooms are large, but not well equipped. The Spa center is good, not all procedures are available. The restaurant is large, the menu is not rich, but the cook is good and everything was delicious. The drinks are a bit too expensive.
