Great hotel, with clean and comfortable rooms! The staff is extremely friendly! The location is in a nice place! We had a wonderful time!

Friendly staff and comfortable apartments. Free Wi-Fi everywhere and fantastic views. There is an indoor pool and jacuzzi, a games room and a gym. Highly recommended.

Pool closed for refurb. Restaurant closed for 2 nights, new management.

To start with the bar/restaurant staff were amazing!
The spa offers a number of different treatments which were brilliant, my partner has a smashing message! The indoor pool was fantastic, warm, and had a little jacuzzi, which was perfect for a soak after a day skiing! (While we were there the outdoor pool was closed for winter, which was fine as it would have been freezing to get in to)
The rooms were set up with fantastic views over the local area, and had everything you needed to stay comfily! It's also had a small well stocked kitchen so we could have eaten in if we wanted to.
The hotel also offers a shuttle service to Bansko regularly, or a taxi will set you back 40-45BUL.
Would highly recommend and we will be back again!

Super value, indoor pool / jacuzzi a bit small, but perfect place to relax and / or go hiking.

Nice place with a beautiful view of Pirin. Qualitative and varied food. Clean and well maintained in common areas and rooms. What I did not like is the lack of normal parking and a warm connection to the pool, ineffective ventilation in the pool room and the slightly neglected room for games.

Second visit to that hotel made a good impression. Polite personel, clean rooms, nice views, etc. The available SPA facility has limited capacity and the quality there is ok. The food in the restaurant was good with acceptable prices.

People here actually smile!! This is what really makes a difference in this hotel.

Very, very nice place

In a convenient location, located at the foot of the mountain, the complex is new and very communicative.
There is a SPA area, a swimming pool and an outdoor pool.
Playground, spacious and sunny yard

After having a reservation for 20 days when we arrived at the hotel they tell us that the spa does not work. (I had booked for the spa)

Nice place to visit it, good food and friendly atmosphere.

3 stars object and 3 stars rate. Beautiful place and amazing wiew from window. SPA is included. So why only 3 stars? Lady from reception was a bit unkind for us, 2 of 5 apartament were untidy so we habe to wait with little child for cleaning and at the end-for another apartament... in every room bed at the salon were broken.

Besizs of that i will return to Balkan Jewel thanks to view at the mountain and nice SPA.

There is no warm connection for the spa, which in general is not even anything special and the pool is too small and not so clean. Insolence of the sort of, you have to pay for a bathrobe, it's not jewelry at all, but it's typical Balkan.

The apartments are spacious and have everything one family needs. Apartment I breakfast is for four stars, cleanliness and spa for three stars

Amazing mountain views. Our apartment was fully stocked with all necessary amenities including iron & board, cooking equipment, hangers etc. Great hot shower. Staff were really friendly and helpful, they made our trip so smooth by booking our ski equipment and other activities. We also enjoyed the pool and spa facilities. Highly recommended!

Great hotel, 2 great pools, clean rooms, great staff! This was our second visit! We will keep coming!

Our stay was not good at all. First, the room was icy. Second, there was one 60 liter water heater that we couldn't take three after each other, let alone fill the tub. Third from the room to the SPA center there is no warm connection (but no one mentioned it to me). And it takes the whole courtyard to get to an ice-free locker room with nothing on the cabinets. And the pool is very small and the water was not 32 degrees at all, as I was told when I called to keep a room. Maybe 26.27 degrees but no more. Overall, we are not happy at all. Maybe it's summer, but not now. And if you use the pool outside and he's pretty tiny.

Good hideaway. Great for families. Separate play areas for kids easily accessible and located within sight of rooms so peace of mind. Lovely pool, small spa area though.

Just spent a week at the Balkan Jewel Resort and Spa and for the price it was great. Staff lovely and location stunning if a little remote. For me, a car was essential but the hotel will run you to the local towns of Bansko and Razlog and pick you up again later. It's primarily a ski resort and as such we were visiting out of season.
We opted for B&B and I don't think they are too used to British guests. The menu very much caters to Bulgarian taste and is mainly cucumber and tomato! Cheese and salami are also on offer but there is only a buffet when there are lots of other guests (there were only 4 other guests when we visited!) Also the evening restaurant is very limited, unsurprisingly, when there are so few guests.

The Pirin National Park is absolutely stunning and well worth a drive. The border with Greece is about an hour and a half.

The rooms were cold during check-in. In some of the apartments was cooking, as a result of which our apartment smelled of fried fish, I recommend to take measures for aspiration, do not go to a hotel to smell fried food.
There were dog hair on the couch.
The food was good.

We are very pleased with the level of service as a reception, a restaurant, maids - responsive, but not intrusive. The hotel is nice, relatively unlike the majority of bg hotels, it was very warm, we had an upgrade to the room, it was furnished so that you can cook and live, spacious and with a great view of the golf course. Cleaning every day. A greatly utilized underground level in a playground for children and adults as well as a conference room. Spa and pool warm, with dressing rooms, showers and so on. Free Bansko. We would still go, in warm weather, only that the outside pool bordered on the restaurant, the spa and the outdoor playground, which is enough in itself.

The hotel has large, warm, clean rooms. Cleanliness is everyday. The heated pool is amazing! The food in the restaurant is good and the prices are reasonable.

It is beautiful Bansko resort but it is a pity that it is inhabited by Bulgari. They have no business with tourism. Opitality does not exist and is often driven to the extreme transforming into begging. I found here a tired and bored staff of tourists or tourists at the beginning of the season. You will not get food from the hotel. Breakfast acceptable. The indoor pool, which is just one and is a bitter and bitter, is a bit bigger than a whirlpool and it all fills you with chlorine. Jacuzzi with light brown to green water is not too crowded, it's 6 people but always stays 10 in it. Accommodation is worth it. The apartments are large and clean.

When we called to book, they failed to tell us that the indoor pool was not working and that the outdoor pool was not heated.
Arriving on the spot after we had already paid, we were informed of minor inconveniences. As a compliment to compensate, they accommodated us in an apartment and were extremely kind to cover up their pass.
We tried to use the jacuzzi, the water was cold and dirty. The sauna and steam bath only work if you call to say you want to use them. To say you want to use them you either have to go back to the room to call or you have to go to the reception (no phone )
Bathrobes and slippers were not provided.
When ordering accommodation for 3 people in the apartment, a third set of towels was not provided.
The alarm in the room was broken and went off several times on its own, when asked what was happening the answer was "there is nothing we can do"

Great resort in the Bulgarian mountains. Quiet in summer very relaxing.

The place is very cosy and good located. Big varieties of activities and relax. Perfect service and very good hygiene!

We had a great time, the hotel is very good. A maid cleans and changes towels every day. The food is up to standard.

A nice, family friendly place with a really wide range of fun options. Good, professional service, friendly staff. It could only pay a little more attention to maintaining hygiene, especially in a spa that is otherwise full of excellent amenities. The views from the Pirin and Rila apartments are priceless. All in all, great value for money.

Rooms are beautifully spacious and are actually apartments with an equipped kitchenette; they are very clean but are bland in character; beds are hard.
All balconies have mountain views and some have pool view as well - great stuff.
Housekeeping staff are friendly and will replenish toilet rolls, towels etc when asked.
The indoor pool is lovely and warm but small for such a large hotel ; outdoor pool is also on the small side - probably because it is more of a Winter resort than a Summer one.

On the whole, we are enjoying our stay but we are disappointed with the restaurant.
Our issues are:
We are on day 3 of a half board deal and the food is already becoming repetitive;

None of the food is labelled - I don't mind a bit of guesswork and will try most things but not good for people with specific dietary requirements;

The fruit juice machine (for use at breakfast only) hasn't worked since we arrived;

Tea/coffee is not included with the evening meal - the machine is switched off;

The water machine was deliberately turned off on our third evening as a coach party was expected and the bar staff were selling bottled water to guests! To be fair, we were given a jug of tap water when we specifically requested it.

Back to the positives: we have had fun playing pool and table tennis in the games room with our two teenage boys.
The hotel shuttle to Bansko, Razlog, even LIDL is free, regular and reliable. We've found it very useful.

Very good value for the money, esp in the summer there are great deals, huge apt with 2 bedrooms for 100lv per night is not bad

Nice place for weekend escape with very good prices.

As a hotel it is good with comfortable and beautiful rooms, fully equipped. It has relatively easy parking and is close to the center of Bansko. The cleanliness is good but it could have been better, in our room we found the bathroom basket with a little rubbish and the bathroom moderately clean without biological cleaning in the basin. There was a garbage bag on the balcony that the cleaner apparently forgot to throw away and the ashtray was full of cigarettes.
In general, however, it is very well maintained with good facilities, such as a playground for young and older children, a restaurant with good prices, swimming pools, spa, saunas, massage, gym, playgrounds outside.
The bad thing is that this hotel is not designed for a winter destination but rather for Hawaii !!! It consists of independent buildings and if you want to go from one to the other you have to go outside. If you want to go to the pool, the spa, the restaurant you have to go out in the cold !!! To go to the pool, that is, you must either go out with the flip flops in the cold or go dressed and change there !!! The indoor pool is quite small and has no glass to look out but the jacuzzi is with glass. The saunas are very good and clean.

A Balkan jewel is a real jewel. Beautiful scenery around, good service, delicious food tailored to the taste of all clean, clean rooms.

Rooms were ok tho they need an urgent upgrade, decor is from Tito's era.

Spa was great, yet the staff was lazy as hell and completely unprofessional. Ignoring you when you request them to turn on the sauna or the heater of any of the pools (guess they wanted to save on the electricity bill). They do also allow kids in the spa which completely destroys the relaxing concept of it.

Street lighthouse in the room. Pls avoid smaragd 01 room.

Great hotel, clean, warm, good food... only remark for indoor pool which is accessed from outside and never seen that small tv in room.

Place is fine, very cozy and relaxing. However it's very noisy inside the building you can hear across 3 floors what is going on

An excellent choice if you want to avoid the crowdy Bansko. Clean and very warm rooms, the spa is wonderful and the food is also nice. Last but not least the staff is super helpful and caring. All in all great hospitality!

You do not come here! At the evening meal no glasses of water give you up and at the pool you have to pay 25 leva to give you a gown used

Very good hotel. The rooms are clean, spacious and neat, clean every day. However, in the apartment for four people there is a normal bed for 2 persons and a literally 5cm sponge sponge for the other two people, you can ask for an additional sponge but this is not enough for an adult. Breakfast is diversified, and it did not change for me all the 7 days I was there. Spa is great. The game room is super-designed and a bit of fun is coming. Recommendations!
