I am retired from the United States Coast Guard and I am in the planning stages of researching at top notch/high quality building for my small property in West Virginia. So after finding Armstrong on the internet and after researching their company to some degree, I decided to submit a contact request for more information and pricing. I was overly fortunate to have received a phone call back from Jim Christopherson! What a pleasure it was to get a highly competent, zero pressure representative from a great company. If you are going to purchase a steel building. This is the only one I would buy. We have looked at over a dozen companies and this by far is the one we would go with. I purchased a steel building from this company 2 years ago. They originally gave me one price and told me that it was going to be less money once the engineers took out the windows and doors as well as the garage door. It came back at almost double when I ask for my money back the answer was this"you signed a contract that said you would take delivery of a steel building so either take delivery and pay the difference or forfeit your money" and " we don't sell steel buildings that was a sales person that called you" I then downsized the building to make it close to the original price.
We started building this a few weeks ago and have had horrible results. They have confused the back Gable with the front Gable. The front Gable has a garage door in it that was supposed to be wood framed they sent me the steel for the garage door side and not the backside. Once again shorting me on my money. Customer service was absolutely atrocious. I have been in the construction industry for 30 years and I have never had such a horrible experience with another Building Company. I really needed a shop of my very own, and I knew I wanted a steel building instead of a pole barn. Requested a quote from Armstrong, Sierra was tasked to assist me. I provided a detailed sketch of my building with door, window and insulation callouts from the options given when you use their website to build a quote. I received a quote back minus the window, door and insulation, I kept telling Sierra I needed a complete quote but she kept giving me the runaround writing I did not select my options and would not provide any alternatives or pricing for what I originally requested. Well I started doing a bit of research and the BBB has complaints about this company giving lowball prices on the building minus windows, doors, and other options, once you sign and give them your downpayment then you get the sticker shock of the cost of the missing components not on the original quote. This should be illegal, but at best is very shady business practice........

"The rising price of steel" section on the website is something a crappy company would put up. I was about to send them a job to price out but I'll be moving along. This is only a review of a first impression.

My garage is perfect! Not only does it look exactly how I wanted it to look, but it even went together seamlessly. I have never put a steel building up before, let alone on my own. You guys weren t kidding when you said that it s easy to put up! I was really impressed with how the whole building was delivered on time as promised, with no missing pieces. The price from Armstrong Steel was right for our budget. I have never constructed a building like this before. With the exception of only a little help, I mostly built it by myself in three and a half months after work in the evenings. I built a 30x62 building.
I was impressed with the way the building went together with no problems. I did not have to re-drill any holes and the framing went together exactly as it should have. Kitty U., Tami G., Rebecca S., and Elisa C. were all of great assistance throughout the entire process. I couldn t have asked for better customer service. Overall, I was very impressed with the building and the support I received from Armstrong Steel.

Termites were the deciding factor on whether or not I should buy a steel building. I had a wood framed building, and unfortunately, termites got into it. I have about 12 years until retirement, and I knew I had to get a building that would be around so I could actually enjoy it. Armstrong Steel contacted me at the perfect time, and now I have a great workshop. I d definitely recommend Armstrong to others because of their customer service and ability to come through on their promises.

I knew it was possible to go a cheaper route, but I was interested in a quality metal building that would actually last. I Can honestly say I enjoyed every minute of constructing my Armstrong Steel building. With very little help, I was able to construct my 24' x 24' x 10' building pretty much by myself. The result was pretty gratifying. The neighbors all liked the finished result. Where some buildings are an eye sore, this one is definately not. I am a 50 year old man, If I was 10-20 years younger, I would love to be a contractor building for Armstrong Steel. Thanks again for a great experience.

I ve owned my own grocery store since 1998. When it was time to expand and add a new pharmacy section on to the grocery store, I wanted a quality building addition. I knew I had to get a durable, wide open structure, and steel was the way to go. The 24x40x12 addition went up quickly without any trouble. This add-on looks amazing next to the grocery store! My business is showing no signs of slowing down, thanks to Armstrong Steel.

Overall my experience with Armstrong Steel has been excellent. Everyone that I have interfaced with has been very knowledgeable, polite and very easy to communicate with throughout the entire process from purchase thru erection and construction phases. If/when I have another building requirement I intend to contact Armstrong Steel Buildings for my next project.

Got in touch with these people just for information. When they called me back nothing but salesman double talk right away. We was done at that point.

Stop trying to minimize the condition of the building that you sent out to a home owner, it was not just one column it was six. It wasn't just a simple grind, it was 5 inches long on each and more like 5/8 to 3/4" thick! that's over 30 inches of grinding, not to mention all 8 columns extension beam holes for bolts missed by half a hole, you shorted the customer 30+ high strength bolts and nuts, and the customer is having to pay for parts that weren't banded up with the job, which in my personal opinion were never sent....so it doesn't matter to you to have a happy customer. So you are saying, Were going to stand on the 30 day loophole.
The reason why I'm so adamant is because of the way you treated your customer. Customers make your business successful reviews are important.

I've been a metal building erector for 32 years I do all the big brands even the small brands Armstrong buildings by far is one of the worst fabricated and incomplete building that you can buy short nuts and bolts and the wrong size. Steel that should have been fabricated at the factory doesn't fit and they say you have to modify and then they call it "field modification" that you have to accept so buyer beware if you're paying somebody to (fix) while putting this building together it's going to cost you an arm and leg just trying to fix or change things that they've fabricated wrong.
Well they probably wont show this post. Because it's not a positive review it'll probably get erased but that's okay we will be put on Twitter and we will have it on our Facebook account we will have it on LinkedIn and Merchant Circle and will probably have it in our blog and just giving a warning people! that once the money is paid you won't get nothing from them.

Really good experience with Armstrong Steel after a change of plans from a barn to a patio cover. The patio cover is 80 feet long by 20 and everyone who visits comments on how strong it looks and how amazing there are no poles in the middle of the patio. Really pleased with patio and the strength of the cover. We know that if there is ever an earthquake it will remain standing. Not too sure of the house. Don't feel it is built as well as our patio!

Jonathan has some serious customer service issues. They obviously have a template that you"the customer " must follow. Then if you don't, the attitude comes out and in the end...... they just hang up. So I wanted to spend a decent amount of cash with them but now that isn't going to happen. Also, they are the manufacturer of the buildings and have nothing to do with installation, which they tell you after 15 minutes of conversation. Jonathan must be young and unable to manage his personal emotions, very sad that this is what customer service is nowadays.

When you manufacture pumps as a job, things tend to get pretty messy. I knew if I didn t have my own dedicated space, all my other treasured belongings, like my 5th wheel camper, could be ruined. When I started looking at different building material, I considered traditional stick buildings, as well as other cheap metal buildings. I thought that was my only option until I found Armstrong Steel. They stood out to be the best all around because I saw they had the best quality product. So I gave them a call and explained exactly what I needed. After just a few short months, my building arrived and I saw the quality firsthand. It was just as I expected. Plus, it truly was a breeze to put up. I live in a high wind area, and it s a satisfying feeling to see my Armstrong Steel building is one of the only buildings still standing strong in the area because it s made of steel, not wood. Remember the nursery rhyme The Three Little Pigs? My building is the strongest and best looking building in the town! Nothing is going to blow my house down.

I knew I wanted a steel building for our 5th wheel trailer, but didn't have a real firm idea of what I needed. I filled out the on line quote request and Jeff Reimers called me promptly and helped me get a firm idea of what I needed. I have some other things to consider, like what all I want the building to be, and have put the building purchase on hold for now. But Jeff was very helpful and I did not feel any pressure to put money down before I really knew exactly what I wanted. Jeff is easy to work with and is very helpful.

Other reviewers are correct. They tell you anything to sell the product and then the story changes. We were told they would ship it for free because they were trying to sell this building. Then when it comes time to ship it there is a charge. Then we are told the balance owed, we get the cashiers check and when the building arrives it was a different amount. The building did not arrive on the date scheduled, which resulted in an additional day's rental for the fork lift. We were told by a company representative they would reimburse that fee, but then another company representative told us they were not responsible for shipping delays and would not reimburse us. We are several weeks past delivery date and still do not have all of our parts for the building. They make certain they get their money, but it seems customer service is not a priority. Would not recommend this company. If you do use them, get all your correspondence in writing!

This was my first building project. The original building was destroyed by hurricane harvey and my customer wanted something that would last. The building went together smooth and we completed the 7,500sqft building construction in 22 days. All of the inspectors were very impressed with the quality of the steel we were using and the windstorm inspector said it was one of the best he had seen.

Now that has been a little over a year the building is still solid as a rock with zero squeaks or rattles when the wind hits it.

I am in the planning stages of building a childrens recreation facility. Jim Christopherson is my go-to guy. He has been kind, courteous, very helpful and informative strealining and making the customization process easy. He has been asking questions to make sure we dont forget important elements, but not paying for more than what we need. I look forward to continuing this process with Jim and Armstrong Steel.

After a significant amount of research into a number of steel building manufactures, my wife and I contracted with Armstrong Steel for a multifaceted commercial building project. We immediately learned that the steel building industry is fraught with many potential tricks and turns and the choice of a competent and honest manufacturer is the key to a successful project. Armstrong easily met that goal.

Our building is 250 feet by 75 feet and consists of a combined stable and official USDF indoor riding arena. Cathy Holland was the consultant on the project. Because of our climate, ventilation and special needs for meeting arena regulations and stable details, the project required a considerable amount of technical planning expertise.
Cathy was able to handle our needs from day number one. Besides being the ultimate professional, her knowledge of the steel building industry was truly remarkable. Don't waste your time with their online "quick calculator". It won't give you a cost. It's a ploy to get your contact information so they can call you. I filled it out and never got a quote. I even tried twice!

We've contacted Armstrong in getting building pricing for our steel building. Teresa, with Armstrong, has been wonderful because she has returned our phone calls and emails promptly, and takes the time to understand our project. She has given us emails with the estimate and a pucture of what the building wpuld like. We have enjoyed working with her.

I had the pleasure of working with Jim Christopherson at Armstong over the past 6 weeks. He took me step by step through design of the steel building I was looking for. I had many questions and those he couldn't answer he was quick to get back to me with a follow up. At no time did I feel pressure during the process. Because we live in Alaska freight cost was a big concern. Ultimately I have decided to build a wood structure to save on costs. Great guy to work with.

Good experience with Michael Mahoney their salesman at Armstrong Steel. Only issue i did find one mistake on a hanger door width as had to get Michael to get fixed in engineering. They sent change on revised cad drawing digitally but did not resend corrected drawings printed. Had to get printed myself. Other than that a good experience.

This barn has enhanced our property and made horse care so much easier. The Armstrong people were great to work with. Everyone has said this barn will last forever.

After having erected a variety of Armstrong's structures, I can attest to their high quality. If it's thorough engineering and attention to technical details you are looking for, Armstrong will get it right. Keeps GCs happy. And It sure cuts down on assembly time when there's near zero field modifications necessary. Price point is very reasonable all things considered.

Building is sturdy, and designed exactly as I wanted. I recommend Armstrong Steel Buildings if you are needing a building.

Armstrong Steel Corp. Made our business running. We bought steel building from them and very happy with it.

We began our journey building a steel shed during the winter months - we called many steel building manufacturers; getting a call back seemed to be the biggest challenge. Charlie Newton at Armstrong was responsive and more than happy to help. We started talking thru design ideas with Charlie and months later, we were more like trusted friends.

Charlie was patient, listened to our every need, very knowledgeable and reached out to his design engineers when it was necessary. We had a "laundry list" of questions as this was our first build and Charlie continually went the extra mile to research, get an answer, and follow up with us. He spent several months as we were designing a shed/house. We felt confident with his professionalism that we would be happy with Armstrong Steel as they were beyond accommodating.

Our architects from Tall Studio in Ocean Springs, Mississippi worked directly with Armstrong Steel to design our rural studio on a four acre parcel in Southern Mississippi. We included a small apartment in the studio design that we planned to live in temporarily while we built our downsized home, getting us ready for retirement. We have been so comfortable in this building and the apartment that we put off building our home! The design is unique and people stop by on a regular basis to learn about our building. The space is flexible and configurable so that my husband can work on building and pre-staging for his marine contracting business and I can hold weekend art workshops. We have even held several weddings and parties in the rural studio. This was a great investment for us and we would work with Armstrong again.

So far, so good. Rick Robertson was very responsive to my initial inquiry with a quick quote and specs.

Dealing with Armstrong Steel Corp. (ASC) has been an extremely disappointing and eye opening experience. The typical American consumer is very trusting, and even though we don t entirely read a company s Terms and Conditions we think that a company will ultimately conduct business in an ethical manner, which is unfortunately not always the case. ASC has an extensive Terms and Conditions that is shockingly biased in their favor, which essentially relieves them of liability and prohibits legal recourse for any reason. Read every word of, and negotiate unreasonable Terms and Conditions before signing!

If you are in the market for a steel building, get quotes from trustworthy steel building companies who will price your building in full before insisting on any down payment. You may regret entering into contract and giving them any money before you have a written quote that includes all of the building features that you want (length and width, wall height, roof pitch, overhangs, window and door openings, insulation, painted roof panels, gutters, etc.). Don t be deceived by claims of having the best building on the market, fancy websites, or artificial reviews. Also, don t let them pressure you by saying that you have to sign the contract this day in order to get the discounted price (most reputable companies will honor a quote for 30 days).

If Armstrong doesn t provided you with an instant online quote, like their website promises, you really can t trust them to honor anything else in the future.

ASC may provide a low price quote for a very basic building (without any door or window openings and a 1:12 roof pitch). They will tell you that changes can be made to this basic building package after you sign the contract and make a down payment, but keep in mind that all change orders will significantly increase the final cost of your building.

Armstrong demonstrated, throughout this project, their incompetence and/or their unwillingness to fulfill their contractual obligations. I can no longer depend on Armstrong to resolve faulty component claims. I consulted an attorney so he could review the facts and recommend a course of action.

My attorney analyzed all of the documents, photographs, and correspondence between Armstrong steel and myself. He concluded that I have a case worth pursuing based on Breach of Contract, the contract s One-Sided Provisions, multiple violations of the Consumer Sales Practices Act and the Deceptive Trade Practices Act. We filed suit, however none of the violations were ever heard in court because we could not get past the arbitration provision in Armstrong s Term and Conditions. Their arbitration provision states that any dispute must be resolved by mandatory arbitration in Arapahoe County, Colorado. I question the legitimacy and fairness a customer could reasonably expect from arbitration in Armstrong s home county. Prior to any legal hearing we requested that arbitration be held in Ohio, but Armstrong refused. The Court ruled the arbitration in Colorado provision is enforceable. However, the Court did strike down another outrageous provision in Armstrong s Terms and Conditions that states, the buyer pays Armstrong s attorney fees if the buyer does not prevail. Armstrong Steel Corp. remains shielded from fulfilling my order by the provisions within their Terms and Conditions.

when i first called armstrong steel to get a quote on a 50x90x14 foot steel building they were very prompt and helpfull. the price of the building was more than what i found anywhere else online or local. purchased because i was told it was the best money could buy. was told it would be 3-4 months out for delivery. date of purchase march 2015. never got notice of shipment until day before delivery. fed. 24 2016.
building was missing pieces,bolts, parts were wrong. they did make right on that and sent out the pieces, it took 3 weeks though. nice building when done but not that much better than any other building. original salesman told me nothing but lies which is why he was probably fired. horrible assembly instructions. order #54456 jessie urive.

Just received a call from Adam Winter with Armstrong Steel. He was rude and short on the phone in addition to being pushy and insolent. He told me he had leads for my company and wanted to find a "reputable contractor" to send these leads to. This has sales pitch written all over it. He was promising things in general terms to try and peak my interest, but he wouldn't provide details about what exactly he meant by leads for my company.

He continued to refer to his company in the third-person and would not have a direct dialogue with me as the owner of a construction company. I asked him to talk to me like a real person instead of just reading from a sales pitch. He was incapable of having a normal conversation with me. When I asked him to explain the value proposition of his company for me, he went into sales pitch mode for a 3 minute rant, ended by asking me if I'm interested in "being that contractor that he can work with" and promptly hung up the phone on me in the middle of a sentence when I said, "I don't believe so."

These guys are pushy suppliers. Their sales people are rude. Do not do business with Armstrong Steel.

I can't find enough nice things to say about these folks. Their company motto says it all- "On time On Budget" these words mean a lot to me personally. We had a tight timeline (winter is CRAZY here) and an even tighter budget. I was concerned the whole thing could become a nightmare long before ground was broken. Luckily for me I chose Armstrong Steel. THANK YOU!

I find it interesting that yesterday I was looking at this company's reviews and noticed some recent negative reviews. Now today I look again at the reviews and notice about 3 negative reviews are removed. Seems shady to me. I want a company that's honest about their faults and corrects their mistakes, not hide them and try to push them under the rug. It seems like what I read is true and this company doesn't want to own up to their mistakes which explains why they delete negative and valid reviews to make themselves look better! Reality is people and places make mistakes and its a good thing when the company owns up to those mistakes and makes it right for the customer and not pretend it never happened. Time to saddle up and own up Armstrong. There's lots of other places to review where the company cannot control the reviews and I suggest that's where people post...like the BBB.

After some initial concerns and miscommunications regarding the doors, Armstrong Steel provided the best building materials and a complete inventory of everything necessary for our barn. My brother-in-law bought a barn about the same time from one of their competitors. Comparably, Armstrong's quality was so much better, and the additional costs were worth it. The personal support was excellent and ready to respond with answers to our questions and resolve our concerns. Thank you Armstrong. Even your phone holding guy is class, according to my wife, who is a Sam Elliot fan.

My realtor suggested I contact Armstrong Steel and I was connected to Dani Rostad. She has help me understand the process with quick turn around on my drawings. It has been a good experience and I look forward to working with her in the future.

Awesome! Exaggerating? no. My husband and I are putting up an outbuilding in our yard to move our business home. We felt it would be a good investment for our future-- to help us cut costs and, at least partially, retire. The idea was sound, but the thought of implementation was a little scary. I talked with Trish in customer service and she really encouraged me on. So I bought the building. Well it didn't end there. Our county, King county, WA has a few individuals that really make life difficult. Armstrong's super service has helped us through. I was on speaker phone with our project manager at Armstrong, Shon Cochran one day. After I hung up my husband said "just listening to that guy talk to you, makes me feel confident in our project. He not only knows what he is talking about, but he really seems to care about our outcome. He's the 'real deal' no phony stuff." And that is the way it has continued. I hope you will have the same great experience that we have had!

The delivery was on time and the driver was very helpful. All parts were labeled for easy access m.

Robert at Armstrong has been nothing but fantastic. The pricing and experience has beat out all competitors by a large margin and I couldnt be happier that I went with them. Im excited to recieve my building!! Go with them, you wont regret it.

Great building. Salesman made design and ordering easy. I always could get in touch with my salesman on questions. Delivery was explained in detail and went off without a hitch. Building was installed by contractor and he had nothing but good things to say about the building design and engineering.

My husband and I wanted to fulfill our dream and build a custom made steel home. I m completely at ease because I know I chose the right building company. Armstrong Steel offered the most amazing warranties, and being able to see a ton of photos of real, finished buildings on their website, even other homes, made the decision that much easier. I can t forget about the awesome customer service through the entire process too. You guys made it all happen, and I m grateful!

My husband and I have plans for building a live-work environment to simplify our lives and have a better quality of life. A steel building is ideal. We are just in the initial stages and I reached out to many steel building companies for quotes and to educate myself. Armstrong Steel is the only company that followed through and did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it. Quotes were prompt and delivered on the timeline they told me to expect. All my questions were answered without making me feel rushed or like I was putting them out. They took all the time I needed so I could understand thoroughly. They told me repeatedly their goal was to help me navigate this process in a way that made me feel comfortable and confident every step of the way. I am looking forward to working with them to see our plan take shape from paper drawings to the beautiful structure they are so thoughtfully helping me design. I have to give a special thank you to Alex Searls. His patience with all my questions and nervousness about all of it as I said to him often I don t know what I don t know deserves recognition. My confidence that the unknown unknowns are a fraction of what they were just a week ago is 100% to his credit. He s very good at what he does.
