Bought or leased 6 Hondas/Acuras over the last 17 years. We've never been late with a payment. Was really disappointed that they weren't more helpful with my latest lease turn in. So I decided to go to Skyland Automotive. Never dreamed I wouldn't continue to buy from AppleTree. I just felt my business wasn't appreciated.

Mark, the service writer t Apple Tree Honda, said Honda INTENTIONALLY designed the 2018 Accord with safety issues.

'THE SKID PLATE CLIPS ON THE ACCORD ARE DESIGNED TO FAIL'!

The clips hold the skid plate on while driving. If the plate comes loose while driving , control of the vehicle and costly damage will occur.

Although I am in the very early stages of purchasing a new Honda. Liz took up time with me explained all of features of the cars that interested me. She was knowledgeable, patient, and extremely positive and friendly. If you are looking to buy a new car I suggest you go and ask for Elizabeth Wiggins. Stephanie, my sales rep, and Cameron, the sale man...

Stephanie, my sales rep, and Cameron, the sale manager, went above and beyond to find the Honda Ridgeline truck that I was looking for. They handled all aspects of the deal extremely well, but I was super-impressed at what they did to find the specific color I was looking for - Stephanie actually went to a dealership over an hour away to pick up the truck and drive it back on a Friday night. When my wife had to work a 12-hour shift the day we scheduled for pickup, they actually drove 30 minutes to her work to get her signatures. Amazing customer service. This is the second vehicle I've purchased at Apple and they keep earning my business with their excellent customer service and competitive pricing.

I have had nothing but bad experiences with this dealership. If my Honda didn't keep having recalls (!!) I would never ever go there. Just getting an appointment is a pain- I got called that my replacement airbag was available during the middle of a meeting at work, I asked if I could call back on Saturday and was told yes. When I called Sat I was told the schedulers are actually not there on the weekends, but I could leave a voicemail. When I got transferred the phone rang about 100 times and then a message came on telling me NOT to leave a voicemail. They apparently expect us to drop our day jobs and other responsibilities to get our cars in when it's convenient for them.

As a first time car buyer, I was extremely nervous...

As a first time car buyer, I was extremely nervous about the process. I had just totaled my old car that was completely paid off, and wasn't really planning on having a car payment at this time. As a young female, it made me even more nervous that I would be swindled or bullied into buying a car I didn't want and that was out of my budget. I'm so happy to say that wasn't the case at Apple Tree Honda. I worked with Stephanie D. and her manager Judah primarily. They advocated for me, answered my endless questions, AND helped me buy a car that I love for a price that I could afford. They took me seriously as a buyer and valued my business. Stephanie was so patient and knowledgeable and went above and beyond for me. She's one of the best Apple Tree has to offer!

The ladies in the office are snappy and rude. Google had their opening time listed as 9am so I said that to the lady when she was annoyed at me for not bringing my car in early enough in the morning and she literally said to me "um, honey, I've been working here for three years I think I know what time we open". I just feel like they should be a lot nicer to people than they are. The service people were good. Brenda was very sweet and efficient. She kept me informed of my cars progress and was very apologetic when my car had to stay another day unexpectedly.

We are driving our 6th new honda. All purchased at 2 different Honda dealers in PA and NC. Apple Tree Honda and our previous dealer build on a great car with their outstanding sales and service people. You have no doubt that you AND your car are a priority to everyone at the dealership. They are excellent, efficient, scrupulous, courteous, hospitable. Wouldn t buy or go anywhere else. My service advisor Mark is excellent!

No thank you. I've been there three times in the last 3 yrs. One time your finance person was rude. Didn't seem to want to tell us about the lease information. He told us and wrote out the price. Leaseing was $100 plus more the same time if we bought it. Well we let that go. Came back few mos. Later . Talked to another sales person. Was with another customer. We had talked to this sales person before and told him we would be back. Well it was taking sometime with this customer so he sent another salesman over till he could get back to us. That salesman told us the price then said we had extras that was not posted in the price. I don't like that. He didn't ask who owned the car we were trading. Kept talking to my husband. The trade in price was very low. I was disappointed in the service and the way we were treated. I have bought two new vehicles from there. Everything changed when you got the new store.

The staff was very friendly and still are , I take my Honda in for oil changes. they check my car out to make sure that it is running the way it is supposed to . they also take my car wash it and vacuum it out I really like that. I definitely recommend Appletree Honda

Two year old Honda CRV kept having a dead battery....

Two year old Honda CRV kept having a dead battery. Appletree Honda kept telling us battery was alright. It would be dead, we'd charge so we could take into dealer. They'd test, tell us it was good. We'd take home and would go dead again. They absolutely refused to replace battery. We bought a new one elsewhere. What good is a warranty when they refuse to honor it? Worst dealership on planet earth.
Now the managements wants to talk. When we had the bad battery no one was available. I have now received a check from Honda America to reimburse us for the battery we had installed at Walmart. Sad that Walmart in Hendersonville can fix in an hour what Apple Tree could not fix.

I had a appointment for first thing in the morning...

I had a appointment for first thing in the morning for a repair. The first phone call I got was one hour after dropping the car off asking me if I would like to trade mine in and buy a new one.
Then after 6 hours I got a another call saying no one had looked at the car yet. After a few phone calls later, and letting them know I had taken the day off work for the repair, they fixed the car, but with not a minute to spare because they were closing. The bill was enormous! ,no discount for waiting all day (8 hours) for a one hour job. I purchased my car at Apple Tree, and thought I would have a better experience than this. They also gave me a long list of what other repairs needed done, but after waiting all day there was no time to address them. I am thinking of sending them a bill for my lost wages.

We bought a used Honda Odyssey today from Apple Tree Honda. I'd rather get a root canal than shop for a car but when we went looking on Saturday I was happily surprised by the car salesman we were lucky enough to work with. Scott was genuine and friendly as he helped us in the decision making of buying a 2013 model from their pre-owed inventory. I walked out of there happy and thrilled with our new to us van that we would return to get and do all the paperwork on Monday.

Today was Monday and we arrived on time for our 12:00 appointment. Scott had the car serviced, gas was filled and he had even taken it to fix a gauge that had shown up with a small problem. His job was done and I give him ALL the stars for his part in this sale.

However, from then on it was downhill. We waited for at least an hour for a space to open up so that we could complete the deal with the sales manager. We had been pre-approved by our credit union and had completely done our part in providing them with all the information they needed. One delay after another, one excuse after another, a sales manager that seemed incompetent and attempted to get us to use another lender and buy all sorts of extras that we were not interested in. Even after we signed all the papers there was another long delay because the people issuing the tags were out to lunch and/or on vacation. Total of 2 1/2 hours of something that should have taken 30 minutes. It was 2:30 before we drove away from our 12:00 appointment.

We loved our sales person, Scott. I don't know how in the world he works at a place that is so inefficient. Due to our experience there, I would never take our Honda there for service and I would not buy another car from them ever. I would give 0 stars if I could. And 10 stars for Scott who was awesome!!

We are so thankful for the excellent service we received at this dealership. My husband and I were traveling to Western NC on vacation, and en route developed a problem with the car (due to a shoddy oil change job at a non-dealer place). We stopped at a different dealership en route who did not have the needed part, so we continued on to Apple Tree and arrived as the service shop was closing for the day. At first we thought we d be turned away, which would have really upended our family vacation plans. But the very kind service agent (whose name I can t recall) arranged for it to be done even though the shop had closed. It took about an hour, which meant that the technicians also stayed late to help us. Not only that, we were given updates throughout the process and the cost was transparent upfront. We relaxed in the comfortable waiting area and were able to continue our vacation plans. We cannot say enough about the service and professionalism we encountered at this dealership. Thank you!!

Don't waste your time. Absolutely the worst service department. After making a appointment a week in advance at 9:30 AM for a replacement of the front air mass sensor. They did not get to looking at my car until 1:30, supposedly because they put all the waiting room people in front of me. (why make a reservation). They cheerfully gave me a paid diagnostic test. .... I only wanted the front air mass sensor replaced..... Six hours later they concluded that I needed a front air mass sensor and new transmission fluids. Unfortunately they did not have the part, but I could pay in advance, come back tomorrow, and wait another day. No thank you. Never had such a bad experience in 14 years of owning a Honda. Of course, I never went to Apple Tree Honda before.

The best part of my experience is that my sales associate in the used car section LISTENED. It was a conversation, not a pitch. I was more than please that it was the same associate who helped me from a previous visit there last May: Jeff Smith.

I was also pleased by the thoroughness of the technicians who went over my vehicle before my purchase.

Purchasing the my car went great, the sales man was very kind, didn't push me but just helped and educated me more. As soon as all my services got sent over to the main building to close the sale is where my perspective of this business went down the drain. The lady closing my sale knew nothing about out of state loans and blamed me when she didn't contact my bank to get her money for the car. Needless to say I drove the car around for a month unpaid for.
Next service department.... people are kind. But awfully slow. Over an hour and a half to get an OIL CHANGE!
Pulled up a few days ago after calling several days before the service to see if I needed an appt for an alignment. The lady informed me it would be 3 hours before they could even start on my car, for the OIL CHANGE. Also pulled up about 12:30 and was told I'm sorry they are all going to lunch. Okay so sorry for inconviencing you from making money ... needless to say won't be back for any services car buying or maintenance.

My bf and I don t have the best of credit and we were hunting for a new car because my car broke down on Patton Ave after only having it for a few years. We were ripped off by man with a small dealership in Morganton, so we were not only paranoid of getting ripped off again, but also worried that our options would be so limited due to our low credit scores. We thought that we would have to go the buy here pay here route which is never good, but since we heard good things about Apple Tree, we decided to try it out first. Well Ed Burt and Grant Leech did everything in their power to get us out of there with a car! On top of that, a great reliable car with a great monthly payment. I love my car and was not expecting to be driving a car so nice when I first walked in. So thank you Ed, Grant, and Apple Tree for giving us 100%.

My experience thus far with ATH has been excellent! I cannot say enough about my tech Chad. So polite, knowledgeable, and informative. All through the time my vehicle was in service Chad texted back and forth with me to let me know exactly what was going on and when to expect my car done as a couple of other things that needed attention popped up. I will never hesitate to take my vehicles here and I really hope I always get to deal with Chad!

This is in reference to a recent car buying experience my girlfriend went through. My girlfriend, whom we ll refer to as Meg, was in the market to buy a car. She had done some previous research and liked a couple of Honda s she had seen. We went to Apple Tree Honda to look at some Honda s and were introduced to Peter Estrada. (Dare I say, Saint Peter Estrada!) Peter took us on test drives in two models. Meg settled on the HRV. Now Meg is not a tech savvy person. Some of the features of the HRV were frustrating her. Peter spent time with her that day to get her comfortable with them, and has met with her multiple times to help her understand how things work. She is now getting the hang of it.
Peter has gone above and beyond to help a customer and make the car buying experience enjoyable. Meg hit a home run buying a vehicle from Apple Tree and Peter s assistance has been exceptional!

During my recall visit I was recommended to change...

During my recall visit I was recommended to change transmission fluid because of it's dark color. Than at April 12/2019 I received "Don't forget" reminder by email with the same recommendation. When I postponed my business to visit you and came in your service center with all papers, I found, that Transmission fluid was changed by you just about 20000 miles before. It means, that no one really checked transmission as well as cars service history. I feel that I was misled by Your serviceman and waist my business day for nothing. How can I believe your recommendations in the future. I think that such actions of official Honda dealer, could be very bad for Honda reputation.

Looking for a "new" car. Saw on the internet a car I was interested in. Apple Tree Honda. Arghh. Never once had a good experience there. Even on warranty work they screw things up. Poor communication is high on the list.
New car purchase issues:

Salesman...if you could call him that.... had very little knowledge about the car.

It was being repaired (small body damage), yet it had been on the lot for 36 days.

Repair not listed on CarFax. Apple Tree contracts out some body work to independent body men so it is not reported and they can keep the Carfax cleaner.

Salesman 25 minutes late for appointed pick up time.

Car not detailed before delivery as promised.

Was told I could put $500 on credit card. Denied at purchase time. Told me he misspoke. Truth, dealer pays too much on this transaction. Salesman even told me North Carolina does not allow car purchases to go on credit cards. Lie. This salesman claims 11-12 years in this line of work. HARD TO BELIEVE.

Suggested he repair a small tear on door vinyl. No response or action.

Very long wait...45 minutes to an hour to get into the office to close the sale.

Once I got the car, I noticed no front mats like when I test drove it. I called salesman about the missing mats. Salesman said they were probably dirty and thrown out. I sent a pic from the internet showing them in the vehicle and pretty clean. No response, apology or otherwise. I show up next day and they are in the salesman's office. I take my mats.

I have a scangauge. It reads and displays many engine and operating parameters. I notice intake air temps are really high. 125-140 degress. What?! I do some research and find out I am missing half of the intake air ducting. It is sucking very warm air into the engine. NOT GOOD.

I showed up and get the attention of some higher ups at Apple Tree Honda.

I get over to service and parts. They set up an appointment to replace the missing parts. No loaner car or assistance to get to work. I leave it for repair. I get a call that they did not order hardware so they can't complete the repair. I have to bring it back the next day. I bring it back. Upon picking it up I discover they have kept my temporary hose. They have also not included all fasteners.

They replaced 2 tires, but not the rear tires. They barely passed inspection. 1000 miles down the road and they would need replacing. CHEAPSKATES. The replacement tires have a tread wear rating of 240. Very low. So they will wear out quickly. I pay for new rear tires and the mount and balance of said tires. Going down the road I notice vibration. Badly balanced tires.

Battery has a bad cell. Water/acid level was below the lead plates. So, this was obviously not checked as part of their claimed 150 point inspection. Battery voltage was 11.5 volts. Minimum voltage is supposed to be 12.6. Upon suggestion they replace it I was told they would have to make an appointment for that and they would load test it. They were already getting it the next day for replacing the missing ducting. Needless to say they did not load test it or replace the defective battery.

Keep in mind...this is a CERTIFIED HONDA. Supposed to be checked out and brought to a high standard. They keep the best and get rid of the rest....that's their motto I think. You pay more for this certification because you are buying for their inspection and work to make it certified. Money not well spent with Apple Tree Honda.

MIssing other parts as well. It is almost like they were stripping it for other cars.

Followup call for sale occurs. I bleed all over her. She says I can talk to the General Manager. I tell her: Well, isn't he going to see this? Isn't this for him? She says yes. I tell her, then he can call me if it matters to him. She types my responses. I never get a call.

If it were not for the car that had features, color, etc. I desired I would never buy a single thing from them. Johnson City Honda offers 7 year/100,000 mile warranty on used car sales. Apple Tree tries to sell you an expensive extended warranty.

Service and rental- While recently on an apple pic...

Service and rental- While recently on an apple picking trip from my home a few hours away, the Pilot started making a grinding noise that ended up being a front wheel bearing. I stopped by a few minutes before the service department closed on a Saturday and was met with a professional team that took down all of my information and helped me into a rental car. The following week Melissa, my Service Advisor, kept me updated with the progress on the repairs. I returned later in the week dropped off the rental and retrieved my car. All of it was painless and the work was completed as promised.
As an added bonus, I received a package in the mail a couple weeks later. It was a pair of sunglasses I didn't realize I had left in the rental. Thanks Apple Tree Honda Team!

I brought my car in for maintenance service. The mechanics lied to me by telling me I needed a new transmission, which I did not. I don't appreciate their unscrupulous business practices and would never trust their service. This is a caveat to all Honda owner in the Asheville area.
Fortunately, I found Honda Acura Service instead and they told me my transmission was fine. Honda Acura Service has Honda Certified mechanics which will honor factory warranties.

5 STARS Big improvement over my last visit, which wasn't so bad, but this time they really nailed it. My new Advisor, Chad was superb and couldn't have been more helpful and knowledgeable. While waiting I had a nice talk with a salesman, Peter who, although I was not in the market, spent about 15 minutes just talking in general about the cars and pizza. As I told him...IF my Ridgeline ever dies I will seek him out to buy a new car

3 STARS Work was fine. Extra items were recommended but not really explained fully. Since another dealer was to have done previous work, I really don't know which was to blame for needing the work, but felt at least it could've been explained better here. Problems were minor but a bit frustrating. Nonetheless I will be back to try again

My wife and I purchased a brand new Honda CRV 2018. Our first oil change resulted in the oil change technician identifying an oil leak coming out of our engine. Despite this being a brand new car with about 6K miles on it, the dealership refuses to give us a loaner. This will already result in 6+ hours out of our lives to deal with bringing this vehicle in for repairs. And now we have to pay $35+ per day for a rental.

Don't expect this dealership or it's service department to stand behind the vehicles they sell. Once you drive off the lot, you are on your own, regardless of circumstance.

I worked with Tony Atkins yesterday purchasing a used car, I could not be more pleased with how everything went from the time I walked in to finalizing the transaction. Tony is very knowledgeable, personable and answered all my questions, excellent salesperson. Closing the deal with Don the business manager was easy and, while I was offered extended warranties, I never felt pressured. Everyone I encountered was friendly and made sure I was comfortable. The facility is immaculate, clean as a whistle, this says to me these folks take pride in what they do. I've been to other dealerships, Apple Tree is a cut above.

Absolutely horrible experience. I am also reporting to the BBB, consumer affairs, and initiating litigation. $1600 to replace an AC system in my CRV. Two years ago. System just went out again. Took the CRV to another Honda certified mechanic. They stated system failed because the AC kit was not included in the replacement. Need $1600 to repair. They offered to speak with Apple Tree Honda to work out some sort of resolution. I called and spoke with my service person, Lance. Won t return messages. Have called service manager. He did nothing but argue with me. Have called general manager. He has not returned call. Have written letters and emails to Honda customer care. The entire point of buying a Honda or Toyota certified car is to not have to deal with this.
