Completely out of order sending me a letter inferring that I have an outstanding debt. I am not sure what there angle is or the reason for the letter, as to my knowledge I have no unpaid debts and a credit rating of 990 out of 999. I would like to know who the large number of organisations that they claim to provide a professional service to are as far from being professional they are under hand and bordering on scammers.

Received a letter regarding a debt which ive had a payment plan in place for 2yrs without any breaks. I blame HMRC who keep sending stupid letters threatening to send bailiffs round and everytime I call them they apologise and say it was a mistake. They still sent my personal details to a debt agency Advantis whereupon they apologised again. The countries gone to the dogs.

I started getting letters from this sham company regarding a Working Tax Credit overpayment that I had already proven to the HMRC to be an impossibility.

I threatened to report them for harassment. They sent me an email then not bothering to address to me personally so I didn't bother to respond..

If you get any letters from these idiots just ignore.

They are just a debt collection agency with no legal powers - just a few half baked bully tactics.

Never pay them any money. They don't 'own' the debt so just sort it out with the original creditor and keep the proof.

Wouldn't give any kind of reason/info for calling and not a very professional (using illegal/underneath tactics to try to get information). When I called them back after doing a bit of research into the shady company they told me i had an account with them that I wasn't aware of and that there client had given them my business telephone number to contact me about a personal dept that didn't even exist... a joke of a company that i personally think operate on the fringes of the law to get what they want... don't fall for it people.

I have had to deal with them again this morning in respect of them sending communications to an incorrect address. The representative lied several times during the call, despite me having the information referred to in front of me.

If you are actually seeking to recover losses, I would strongly advise against this company - I have even tried to assist them with the matter they are getting wrong and still no improvement.

HMRC cancelled a ladies child tax credit as if it never was instead of adjusting it.
Therefore instead of keeping her on track for the period of time she was a living at a different address to children s father and then notifying HMRC she had moved in and tax credit claim amended.

This has led to two amounts in thousands demanded by HMRC, trying to reason with HMRC this treatment is unfair and malicious for someone who was held up in an armed robbery and finally managed to get a job at 4 hours a day.



HMRC are Vile, DWP are as publicly documented Vile and Adventis can send all the letters they like- unless HMRC wish a day in court to bankrupt this lady- there is nothing to take and no assets.

HMRC have caused this and refuse to discuss their abusive behaviour, Adventis are not going to listen- so no point having contact with them.

Unless presented with a court summons, this farce will continue-all because there is a grand plan to make people destitute.

What a disgusting company to work for how anyone employed by them can look at themselves in the mirror I have no idea I'm guessing it helps to have no conscience the sort of people who would sell their granny to make a few quid. As for government organisations such as the DVLA basically legalising companies like this to rob honest hard working tax payers over genuine very minor oversights is beyond belief

The law requires them to prove a debt IF one party has disputed it, They refuse too and hiding behind DVLA appeals system.

A poorly run SCAM or an exceptionally incompetent company that keeps making mistakes as others have mentioned before.
Highly suspicuous nontheless for a "Debt Collection Agency" if they can even call themselves that. Not that one has to achieve a high standard to get that title. Mostly ex criminals work as debt collectors as they enjoy finally having found a legal grey area of devoiding people of their belongings. Be very careful with Advantis.

Phoned me to say I have outstanding debt for a matter with the DVLA for an older vehicle which I have proof I no longer own for Road Tax. Basically refused to give details and said this has nothing to do with me and I will terminate the call. Was told by the agent will it is your matter and your problem but we will take this further. Phoned and spoke with the DVLA whom have said this has nothing to do with me and that they shouldn't be threatening me for a matter that has nothing to do with myself. AGAIN - Advantis phoned and spoke with another agent and said basically to phone the DVLA as I have all the proof etc and they haven't bothered me since!

They are open enough to send threatening letters for debts that have been cleared months ago but somehow due to the current government advice to self isolate.....yip they are conveniently closed.... but guess what? While the world is on its knees I can still make a payment. This is a scam. These people should be jailed for fraud.

I was telling the chap I would pay directly and he insisted on logging it as a refusal to pay, which it wasn't. I don't know this firm from Adam and I'm not handing over my payment to strangers. You will begin 'employment' with Advantis as a confident, articulate, dogged individual with a high level of self-esteem. You will leave as a fragile, discriminated against, nebulous being with low levels of self-esteem after being a victim of pathological, mental and emotional dissection by the unethical 'management' - (there are the three exceptions, I have to admit). The majority of management at Advantis wouldn't be out of place in Harry Potter as soul-sucking dementors. You will be searching the area of Stoke for your soul.
A typical day at Advantis would entail being the epitome of living your worst nightmare repeated continuously over and over again for eight and a half hours per day until you breathe a sigh of relief and finally hand in your resignation or go home for the day; an all too common occurrence at Advantis. You might as well be in solitary confinement at your desk being as you're monitored on 'comfort break'; I felt that comfortable going to the toilet whilst being timed by the majority of 'management', who sat smugly in their ivory tower offices. 10 minutes per day. Office smelt rather strange.
Adjectives to describe management - (again there are a few exceptions), uneducated, unethical, two-faced and mislead. If you want to become a Team Leader or Manager sleeping with one of the management or doing unmentionable things at the 'Awards Night' are your best bets.
Getting out of my king-sized bed in the morning was the hardest part of the job. Unfortunately, the one enjoyable part of the job was when management was off ill or decided to go down to the local Wetherspoons for a lunch-time session to celebrate a momentous occasion. Freedom Freedom Freedom you could hear in the office.
If you want to see your GP more than prescribed (no pun intended), please feel free to take a job at Advantis. If you want to avoid getting thrown into a fictional prison such as Azkaban walk straight past this medieval establishment.

I agree with some of the other reviewers that when Advantis first contact you it comes across as a bit spammy, but once I got past that I found the person at the other end of the phoneline was very helpful and reasonable. Perhaps it helps that my issue was compliance related, but even so I was very pleasantly surprised with the understanding shown

Advisors - use that term loosely - all say different things and when a payment went out on a monday instead of the Saturday it was classed as a breach and it was my fault!! Even though they had already told me payments don't go out on a weekend!! Shambles of a company. Letter sent with my name but the property management companies address chasing a debt that has been paid to SSE. Contacted SSE who advised that the account is clear and has been closed. Advantis Credit are impossible to deal with and should check that their information is correct in the first place. I have wasted time trying to sort out this mess that appears to be their error - perhaps I should use their tactics to claim money from them!

Refused to deal with issue in a meaningful way. Then when all info was emailed they replied they couldn't accept that as it wasn't from a "confirmed mailing address". All they had to do was acknowledge the contents, it did not need discussing. The email they sent to me was addressed to my partner who was named nowhere in their original letter and had not been mentioned at any point. Extremely rude and unhelpful on the phone and clearly just as poor at communicating via email.

They tell me the last three digits of a postcode and ask if it has any relevance to me, which it does not. They are pushy in hinting that it does. With regards anyone owing money to Dvla
Pay direct to dvla not Adventist as they will only charge you the fine not the full due amount.
The advisors have no idea what happens with the remaining debt of which I can only see future complications.
Pay the DVLA direct any amount owed including the fine.

It is a scam company, they are part of the same gang calling me for months claiming to be from Thames Water and that I owe money even though I have been paying my bills by DD and Thames Water confirmed they have not contacted me. They sent a fake letter asking me to confirm my details even getting address incorrect (they wrote the address twice and it was different in both places). It is a scam company so do not bother wasting your time with them.

May be helpful when taking payment but as useful as a chocolate teapot when it comes to dealing with incorrect bills. Stated they have no way of reporting to their principal that a bill has been incorrectly addressed. They must be able to report when they have collected a payment so they must be able to report a genuine error. And they work for HMRC - what a shower. Followed by an hour talking to someone in the HMRC office/call centre was no better. No-one seems to take responsibility. An account had been hacked earlier in the year and was reported - the bill was for that period. Advantis had the correct address for the company who had hacked the account at Companies House but chose to chase us instead. Dishonest? Incompetent? Both?

Absolute joke of a company ... I thought British Gas were bad but they employ these jokers to chase money that's already been paid. I've sent them proof 4 times that there is no outstanding amount and all they can say is they haven't read the email yet even though I've had confirmation of them receiving it.

UPDATE.
A month after this review and they are still ringing me. They have the proof it's been paid but failed to read the notes prior to ringing me.
I hope some of you idiots who work there read this.
Once again I was promised they would sort it

i wouldn't usually give a debt agency a 5 star review lol but i have to say these people were fab after stressing for months about owing someone money and being convinced I was about to lose everything i spoke to these people who were actually very helpfull and professional really put my mind at rest helped me work out my income and my outgoings and worked out an affordable payment plan I don't stress anymore I know how much I have to pay every month and i don't get contacted by anyone anymore I dont get why there are so many bad reviews on here at the end of the day you ran up a debt it has to be paid its their job to collect it nothing in life is free get your head out of the sand and sort it out
