Lovely people. Even though debt collection is never pleasant, the agent I spoke to was very professional and made it clear as to what it was I owed money for. To all those giving this 1 stars, how about you pay what you owe and get a grip.

I was sent a text saying I had to call them - tried live chat as phone busy, told no info and must call. Got through to a rude and arrogant call handler who wouldn t even tell me what company it referred to until it was clear we were getting nowhere. He eventually told me the company name and I was the wrong person to call after all. I felt anxious and worried as I thought it was a personal debt. Well done HMRC for using such a terrible organisation to debt collect for you. I suggest some major customer service training is required!

Telephoned Advantis to resolve a bill that was incorrectly in my name and provide the correct information, they were not interested all they wanted was as much personal information on me as possible

Initislly thought they were scammers. But this is a legit company who seem to treat you well. Don't know why the HMRC chose them to chase me though them instead of just writing to me at the correct address in the first place!

I have had four calls now from Advantis, asking for a person who is not on my number. I inform them of this and they promise to take my number from their system. Then they ring again. They seem incapable of correcting mistakes.

Scammers!

Wouldn't tell me what the matter was relating too. The girl had a terrible attitude and spoke to me like I was dirt. Very condescending. Whoever she was shouldn't be doing a job where she has to speak to the public.

I was so nervous about calling about the debt I owed to the HMRC and even more so after reading the reviews on here! But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by how well my situation was handled, I was helped to come up with a payment plan suitable to my circumstances and assured that if I struggle in the future I can call them any time. In this day and age we could do with more kindness like this! Thank you.

It was the DVLA's fault for an error and had to pay using this company. Spoken to a nice woman on the phone that managed to sort it out quickly. It's not their fault and I paid the fine. Thats it, gone. Done.

I am reviewing this company after reading Testing Testerson's review.

I would not trust ANY debt collection agency.

I have been contacted by Advantis by email and letter about a so called debt which I had passed to Citizens Advice to deal with as I have disputed it.

My mobile phone company passed this disputed debt initially onto Ardent Credit Services; it then went to CCS Collections and now its with Advantis, even though Citizens Advice are dealing with it with CCS and my mobile phone company.

Why has it now been passed onto Advantis?

I would suggest that CCS have simply sold it on, even though they shouldn't be doing so whilst CAB are in communication with them.

Advantis call centre said they don't buy debt, but I corrected them by reading out what it states on their website, where it states they purchase debt.

I have now around eight hours of telephone recordings I have made since I disputed the debt and they still contact me, even though it is harassment if they keep on ignoring you if you say you don't owe the money, according to Citizens Advise.

My advice is to record EVERYTHING, so you have all your telephone calls as evidence of what you have said and they have said.

I have advised them many times to take the matter to court, but they don't - which to me speakes volumes.

You can also write to them asking them to place 'dispute' on your credit file instead of 'default', if you are challenging the debt and don't believe or feel you owe it.

I always contact them when they contact me and record all my calls.

After six years the debt will become statute barred if in the previous six years you have not admitted to the debt.

I would advise seeing a Citizens Advice and remember these agencies have to abide to Financial Conduct Authority rules, so never be intimidated by them.

The liklihood of you being taken to court is minimal.

If they won't listen then try to keep calm and let them waste their money and time and remember, after six years that's it, for them.

I couldn't resist leaving a review after reading those that have been left here. Maybe I'd leave a 1* review for a debt collections agency if I didn't want to pay my debt, too. I worked here for almost 2 years and can honestly say that the staff in the call centre will go above and beyond for all customers they speak to. If you have a balance you want to pay but can't afford it all, let them know and they'll help set up a payment plan. If you don't think you owe the money you're being charged, let them know and they'll help you to dispute the balances. Advantis is a really good call centre to work for and the staff that work there are some of the most knowledgeable I've ever worked with.
I suppose that people that have a good experience with a debt collections agency are unlikely to leave a good review - it's hardly something you want to sing from the rooftops! But I would say that you should take the reviews on this page with a pinch of salt. Money, and debt especially is a highly emotional subject, and really the crux of the matter is that no one wants to deal with a debt collections agency. However, if you do end up being contacted by Advantis Credit, keep calm, give them a call and get things sorted. You're in safe hands :)

Horrible company. I had a bill I had to pay back. Started paying it a couple months back and they're still sending me threatening letters adding money onto of my bill. They know about my mental health but couldn't give a damn, but hey aslong as they get as much money as they can get out of vulnerable people who cares right?

Just wanted to say this company isn t getting a penny for me.

To anyone who reads this don t think I m just scum mybwster was suppose to have been included in my rent and I ve been charged a years worth of bills since I moved out a year ago. So again, not getting a penny. I know this is more so an issue with the landlord (rent) Thames water and the new tenant at the address (they re the scum for not telling Thames they re liable to pay since they damn live there now.

(trying to sort it with Thames as I only just found out these debts have been passed on to this company. Even apparently been summoned to court. Never received the notifications/letters because I don t live at the damn place)

I haven t interacted with this company but I m giving 1 star because I don t appreciate debt collection companies. That s just my opinion but oh well

Was terrified about calling after I got a fine from DVLA and read the reviews... Just spoken to a really helpful guy, no stress at all who detailed the appeals process for me. Not resolved fully, only because I wish to appeal but couldn t have been more helpful. (Not an employee or relation to anyone, actually a gen bit of feedback!)

This company sent an text asking for me to call them. When I called them they asked for my name and date of birth. We are constantly reminded not to give our personal information to anyone over the phone if we don't know them. Why are you sending text messages asking us to call you then asking for our personal information then go on to say I haven't been able to pass security! If your company can not disclose information due to GDPR and we're advised not to give our personal information over the phone to people unknown and to be wary of emails and texts from unknown sources why would you send messages and not call direct as you clearly have a mobile number and hold information on the person of interest? Just seems that you prefer to use scar tactics and cause undue stress to individuals without any concerns of what this person maybe going through and how your actions may effect them. Every company has due care in the manner that they conduct business, to exert further stress to a person who is vulnerable and may cause themselves harm is not good business. You are in the business of dealing with people so you have a duty of care and responsibility in the manner you conduct yourself and not cause undue stress or push them to self harm by sending out messages in this manner in the hope you might lure them into calling you and divulging personal data. This is the reason that GDPR is in place to prevent and protect the general public from unethical businesses that are only in it to make money regardless of who they leave as a victim even if the text is sent to someone who has no relevance to them or just sent to a wrong number.

I owed HMRC taxes from the previous 2 years or so and Advantis collected them on their behalf. Now, the original lady that I dealt with was very nice and helpful. However, when I needed to speak to them for the last time, I had a very rude women on the phone. She talked over me and her frustration was palpable down the phone and in a (passive aggressive) manner that actually hurt my ear. When I told her that she was speaking over me and so loud that it hurt my ear, she said that I was rude. Don't expect normal polite people who are calm and informative. I don't know where they get these personnel because they really damage the image of the company and your ear. Pay your debt off as quickly as possible and free yourself from Advantis Credit.

What disgusting, vile and absolutely heartless people you lots truly are. I couldn't care less if you are on admin or the boss. To be involved with a company that collects any kind of debt that is by no means the fault of the person who the debt is being collected from. Makes you completely heartless and inhumane. The sad thing is while the bosses of these dispicale company's drive home in there posh cars to a posh house, they have no thoughts of disgust towards themselves whatsoever.

What a disgusting company this truly is.

It is Student loans fault in the first place for overpaying on a loan. Then they ask cowboys like Advantis to chase the poor people down because they are to cowardly to do it themselves. What a truly awful system we have to conform with. Haktur.

Have to speak as I find. The lady on the other end of the phone was most polite and helpful to me this morning and helped me to sort out a very stressful situation. As the saying goes you get what you give. If you go on the phone for a fight your going to get one,so be polite and helpful and they will too. Thank you to the lady who has made sleep at night easier for me.

They sent a letter to my mother's address. I called them and they tried to data mine me. I refused to tell them anything, they refused to tell me anything. I emailed them my number and told them if they wanted to discuss it further they could call me. They refused to call me. I have been living in Vietnam for nearly 5 years and have never had an outstanding debt in my life. I ran a credit check on myself and got 990 out of 999. Do not trust these people.

I received a vague letter from this company asking to verify my details. I thought it was a scam to start with so I called them up and after refusing to give my date of birth before knowing what the letter was about the lady became very rude and aggressive. It could have been handled in a far more positive and helpful way.

Had numerous phone calls and emails to inform me I had a debt that I owed (throughout Christmas)
Phoned them back and spoke with a polite gentleman to be told I owe a debt to Virgin Media.
I informed him I will speak with them directly as I m not sure what s the debt for, I got told by the man to only deal with them and to not phone Virgin Media and I should phone back before 7pm to inform him of my conversation.
I spoke with Virgin and they are just as confused as I am as I have been paying via direct debit and there is nothing at all outstanding.
Please be very careful in future and inform your older relatives, as I could have easily just given out my card details.

Keep having rude phone calls off some woman with an extremely arrogant and abrupt attitude refusing to let me know what they are calling regarding and keeps asking for personal information which I refuse to just give to any tom dick and harry who calls up, looking at the previous reviews I guess they are a Government issued Bully Tactic Collection Agency and as someone has mentioned, HMRC have made an error on their side and the only one we are making over-payment repayments to is HMRC so I assume it is something to do with HMRC messing something(else) up.

Who ever the woman is on the phone really needs to sort her attitude out.

Do not share any information with this company whatsoever . They say your in Debt and scare you fooling you into giving your name , Date of Birth , Home & Work Address and contact number and then use this against you at every possible chance . If you receive a e-mail or phone call from this company report there emails as a Phishing scam or have there number blocked or report them to your telephone company as a Nuisance caller .

If you receive a letter from these people, check with the company they are supposed to be collecting the money for. I checked with BT and I actually owe nothing. This so called company are nothing but low life scum. It's a scam. Ignore any correspondence from them.

I worked for this company and can honestly say that the staff here go out of their way to help customers as much as they can. There are questions and procedures that have to be followed at the beginning of phone calls, however if you don t want to answer them just politely decline. Everyone has a job to do and sometimes people just need to step into other peoples shoes for a moment, take a breath and think of how they d like to be spoken to and treated. Advantis are a great company to work for, really supportive and follow stringent rules and regulations. If I were to fall into financial hardship, I d like it to be Advantis that I dealt with to help me.

Impossible to get through on telephone lines, after waiting for at least 20 mins on several occasions i attempted to pay via their online portal, that didn't work. I then sent an email to ask them to contact me but after 11 days no response. I got though today and after holding for 18 mins i was able to speak to someone who took the payment. Agent was polite and helpful but no acknowledgement or apology for the hassle it took to make a payment even though she was aware of same and could see that i had sent in an email. In total this has taken up well over an hour of my time to make a simple payment which took less than 2 mins once i managed to speak to someone.

Bunch of Low Life Scammers trying it on, I owe nothing to anyone and these scum keep hounding me. they could do this with an elderly person and they would probably pay it
I SAY AGAIN YOU ARE LOW LIFE SCUM AND I WILL BE INFORMING JACK BUSTER ASAP

keep phoning demanding that I confirm who I am even though they phoned me, so assumed it was a scam. A call to their office elicited it was for a claimed HMRC debt, which we dispute. Call to HMRC confirmed we didn't owe anything. So ever since we state we are aware of the reason for their call (upto 3 a day), that we don't owe any monies and request that they go back to HMRC. However phone calls keep coming. They adopt a menacing and demanding attitude. Looking at make a complaint to regulators.

Lovely to see the staff posting shill reviews for this service. (In general, a shill review is a review written where the author has an obvious agenda of promoting his or her company). Thankfully as you can block numbers and texts from spammers like this their days may well be numbered.

Keep getting voicemails at random times and with no call previous to the voicemail so i dont understand how a voicemail cab be left without actually ringing me???? When i look online the times im getting these mysterious voicemails are when the company isnt even open? And the voicemail is an automated voice saying press option 1. I have no debt with them or any other companies and tried to block the number for them to then start using a different number to leave these automated voicemails. Im getting pretty sick of it now !!!!

Shockingly poor rude and ignorant people who misrepresent the nature of their call and have out of date data calling into question their privacy policy. Which ver Sherlock Holmes though telling a complete stranger it is a personal matter and requesting you hand over personal dat because they can identify who they have called is shocking. Legitimate interest of a telephone number that has changed ownership 24 months ago is not inline with GDPR May 2018 they will be my first free SARS request under GDPR and the first to be reported if they breach the request.

Horrible company to deal with! My father wanted me to help him with clarifying the letters that he received from them, they made things so difficult for him that he was overwhelmed. Unhelpful, unpleasant and unprofessional people how do not bother to support. I am wondering why HMRC is still dealing with them!

Wouldn't even give this company one star tired many times to sort this water bill out to provide evidence that I wasnt responsible for it. Sent the same evidence multiple times still didn't accept the fact I wasnt responsible for it. Better off speaking to the water company who sent you the bill had it sorted within 10 minutes. Not months like advanits. Worse customer service I have ever experienced.

Just received a call from these jokers, saying they want to discuss an urgent business matter with me. I was supicious and said who are you and what is this regarding? They refused to elaborate and said they would not provide further details until i confirmed who i was. Having googled their name whilst on the phone to them I can see they are a debt collection agency. I have no outstanding debts to anyone so i politely told them to confirm who they wanted to speak to and what it was regarding as they refused to do so i refused to engage with them any further and told them to put in writing.

Received an unsolicited letter which asked me to phone them about a personal business matter. When I called and asked what it was about they wanted me to answer a bunch of questions for security to verify I was the person on the letter. I said I would do this if they answered some of my questions first about what kind of business Advantis was. They refused to tell me the nature of their business so I hung up.
