Horrible Horrible Horrible! They cannot get anything right. My first and only online order with this company was a nightmare. For a digital camera package, camera lens, and "free" warranty this is what happened (try and stay with me): an overcharge because their computer billed me wrong, an incorrect refund, upon their request two subsequent orders that had to be placed and then cancelled because they couldn't obtain authorization from paypal, a fraudulent charge to my credit card I did not authorize, a second incorrect refund, a phone call from them trying to charge me back for the credits they issued, and finally a third incorrect refund. Confused? I was/am too. I'm baffled how one company can make so many errors on a simple order. I am still waiting to receive all of the items I ordered (and paid for) and waiting to receive the proper credit back to my credit card. Don't ever order anything from their website, I know I won't make that mistake again.

I ordered a Nikon z6 from adorama to photograph my son's homecoming from the NICU after 79 days. The package arrived on time but missing the camera. The box contained the accessories and a lens for a Sony e-mount that I did not order. Customer service was a joke. They would not offer anything to fix the mistake in a timely manner. They only offered to speak with the warehouse on Monday (it was Wednesday) after the Passover holiday. This alone is understandable given the holiday. However, they would not guarrantee shipment of a new camera until the warehouse could "locate" my camera and would not offer faster shipping. I ultimately opted for a refund and bought the camera locally. This was my first time using adorama after many years ordering from B&H without issue. They obviously won't be getting my business again. Save yourself the hassle and order from B&H.

In short, I received damaged item (Apple Airport Extreme router). Eventually escalated to "customer service ambassador" named Helen Oster. Her repeated response was it was my fault, they need weeks to deal with UPS for the damage (which was Adorama's fault for shipping an expensive electronic product in a padded envelope instead of a carton) and I should just wait. I finally got her to agree to just let me return the item for a refund so I can move on, and buy it somewhere else. The best part - their return instructions require me to ship back in a carton, not an envelope, talk about a double standard. It's been 2 weeks since I returned the item, still no refund. Now need to open a complaint with my credit card to get my money back. So, if you value your time and your money, don't do business with Adorama.

The shipping box was a bit dented/crushed, but thankfully the contents of the box were in perfect condition. Extremely happy with my purchase from Adorama, loved that I was able to get way more extras for a small price bump, than what I could find from other online camera stores. I will be coming back for similar deals!

I'm generally not a difficult customer especially when it comes to online and over the phone orders but these people were some of the worst, rudest customer service/sales staff I've ever dealt with. When I requested a reasonable solution to a problem they essentially brushed me as not worth their time. I've learned my lesson, never doing business with them again. Go to B and H photo instead.

I have been a customer with Adorama for many years...

I have been a customer with Adorama for many years. Just purchased a VIP360 accidental damage protection plan for my new Sony camcorder. This weekend my briefcase containing multiple items was run over. They refuse to cover and say that it was not an accident. No help from anyone. I can't imagine that a company would lose a customer over this. Especially, after purchasing the insurance. They have been my first choice for purchasing telescopes, cameras, and various other telescope optics. They have lost my business.

I was contacted by Adorama and they said that they would not help and agreed with New Leaf. By the way, New Leaf eventually agreed that it was an accident and they are going to cover the repairs or replacement. This was done with no help from Adorama.

Order took 10 days to get to me plus it looked like it was stomped. FedEx Overnight back to them on my dime this past Thursday for an exchange to a comparable item (paying the difference plus 3-day UPS shipping) and as of today,Tuesday haven't heard nothing. Will not purchase from them again. Will pay the higher prices and shop somewhere else.

I recently left this as a negative review of a used camera order with Adorama, but after making my return, learned that the mistake was mine, as there was a setting buried in the menu that would have solved my problem. I can say that Nancy with Adorama was attentive to my initial concern and my return was accepted with no questions asked, and the credit to my account came in a timely manner.

With apologies to Adorama as a company and Nancy personally, I am changing this review so as not to reflect poorly on them when the error was mine.

DON''T BUY FROM ADORAMA IF IT'S SHIPPED TO YOU. Garbage customer service, worst ever in my 25 years buying video and photo gear. I purchased a SmallHD Focus from this garbage place to be shipping to my home. They shipped it without signature confirmation (because Adorama is so cheap, shipping a $500 item without it) so the UPS just dropped it at my front door.instead of taken it back for redelivery since no one was home. Came home found 2 of 3 UPS delivered items so one was missing. Now Adorama is giving me run around and won't send a new one or refund. I called their customer service.garbage because their so CHEAP that they try to save $2-3 on shipping instead of providing a good customer service with right deliver services. I had to wait for the 10 business day investigation to end so I can file a complaint but now they playing another game on me by asking to wait another 10 days since they are going to dispute the case with UPS. How stupid of Adorama. The UPS did their job and delivered like Adorama paid for so instead of blaming delivery service you should blame your self-been stupid by shipping a $500 item without signature confirmation so the UPS driver would of taken it back and redeliver when someone is home. Will give another 10 days if nothing I will go all the way for this even to court if I have too. I will bring this to media so many people can see how they get ripped of by scammers. Adorama you better watch news from now on.

Adorama is one of the famous photography shops in NYC. All the professionals go there. If you need a new lens or some equipment like lights and light boxes, then try this place. It is pricey but the quality is there. You can even come here to develop prints.

Avoid! I quickly needed a new computer and accessories for work, so I spent $2,500 on three "in stock" items with an order placed on Saturday, which included free expedited delivery (supposedly). Unfortunately, the order sat without processing for 2.5 business days before getting shipped out late on Wednesday, forcing me to have to pay extra for expedited shipping to ensure its arrival on time.

I recommend taking your business elsewhere if you need your items on time (or quickly).

Later in the same day I received email from Adorama offering the option of pick it up the next day morning at manhattan store. Sounds like some unknown technical issue delayed my order but the photo printing quality is good and reached my expectation. Their client service follow-up is nice and they returned my rush fee. I d say much better communication than pickup location in manhattan store.

DO NOT print any important photo here, they tell you it will be ready in 2 days and if you pay extra money it will be ready in 1 day. You paid all the money to expedite and get the text ready by Wednesday in email but when you get in on Wednesday NOTHING s there by the pickup time, staff saying no idea where that is, system saying still processing. What s even ridiculous is staff said photobook was finished a day ago but just not shipped in yesterday or today s batch to manhattan store. What??? Make no sense and no communication on potential delay and reason of it! DO NOT trust their service. Absolutely a lie and waste of time. Very disappointing. No help from staff member at all. This could be one of my most important photo book and they 100% messed it up, 100% not Professional.

I was disappointed when the box arrived on my front step. This was an open-box item, but it looks like nobody took the time to seal the box before shipping. There was no tape on the top of the box, and if it had been rained on, the printer would have been ruined. Luckily, the printer powered up ok, and is working. Need to talk to your warehouse staff.

I bought a Flashpoint strobe that was on a timed promo, missing the ad price by hours so paid 100.$ more than that price which was supposedly a one time only,.. a week later it was back at the same promo price so I emailed three times with no response. I called ( all this from the UK where I was working and had the item) and because it was sunday customer service was closed. recently on a trip to NYC I physically went into the store where I was treated like a madman, was not allowed to speak to the customer service manager, and was only told that the item was 799. and always had been that price and was never advertised any lower. I had paid 479., and they said they had no record of that. I truly believe that they have lost the plot. Ive been dealing with them off and on ( more with B&H for these very reasons of horrendous customer service) for over 30 years. They constantly email ads and promos and with similar models , especially Flashpoint, that make it all confusing, irritating, and suspect. Enough of Adorama. Let Amazon consume them and we'll be fine with B&H.

Don't buy used online from them.

I will preface this buy saying that I've had good experience from their rental side. Nothing life changing, but fine. But hoo-boy, take a seat by the fire and let me walk you through what it's like buying online from them.

First time purchasing through their website and so I was starting with something small, just a tripod quick release plate. I live in New York, so I was expecting to get pretty fast. But like the miracle of Hannukah, instead of taking 1 day to put the item in a box and ship it, it takes them 8 magical nights to put the thing in the mailbox. 8 days. But fine, maybe they're backlogged. I don't know their warehouse life.

I get the part. It's the wrong part. I use the chat function on their website, they tell me to call customer support, I do. Turns out the SKU# for the part I ordered was mislabeled in the system. Website says one thing, their system says another.
"Okay, so can I get the part I ordered, then?"
"I am going to send you instructions on how to RMA the part."
"What's that involve?" I swivel in my chair, thinking calm soothing thoughts.
"There's a form for you to fill out and a shipping label so you can return the item." The woman says, in a practiced, measured tone.
"And then I get the part I ordered?"
"Well you'll need to decide if you want it replaced or refunded. Once we receive the item it will take 4-6 days to process the request and if we have the item in stock we will send it to you."
I stop swiveling, something sticks about that last bit. "IF you have it in stock? Well...can you check?"
"Not from here. They will check the status of that item when they have processed your RMA request."
"4-6 days from when I send it."
"From when we receive it, yes."

So let's recap:
-I ordered something.
-A week and a half later I get the wrong thing.
-To get the right part, I need to fill out paperwork, repack the thing, drop it off at a UPS store.
-Wait another week and a half. If I win the inventory lottery, they have the part and will pack it.
-Wait another week and a half.

So in only a month and a half I could get something from a store I can get to by bicycle. Or in only a single month, optimistically, just 4 weeks, mind you, I can get a refund and pretend that it was all just a month long dream.

Seriously. What lousy, wet sharts. Don't even bother.

P.S. Packaging was well done.
P.P.S. Buy something through them and die alone and unhappy.

It's either this place or B&H in Manhattan but I really enjoy the special in the store. I mean they have everything for Video and Photo people and if they don't, most likely they can special order it for you. Printing pictures is perhaps the lowest prices that you'll find for sizes 8x10 or larger. I remember 8 years ago, Sony's website offered 4x6 prints at 7 cents each but that no longer.

Any who great store though I can't recommend shipping. I live in Manhattan, ordered an item that was not in stock in the store, they they sent from the NY Warehouse to Jersey then to my home taking over a week just for a HPX170 battery.

Anyhow, it is a store I can recommend.

I come here every so often. Always a good Service. Last year the staff helped me choose the right Lens Filter for Sunset shots and I've been coming here ever since. Always well equipped for my Trips and Holidays.

Worst experience ever.
If I could, I'd post no stars, because my result is no purchase and no money on card (but only for 35 days, thanks God!).
I never had problems with my credit card until I tried to buy in Adorama. Them billing system is old, unsafe and unreliable, which may cause blocking of your money if error occurs. Also they asked me to send my personal information for verification. Ha-ha, I'd prefer to sent it to NSA than to this shop. I'm totally agree with Azula MIzo's post above.

Worst customer service ever. The woman who initially served us was nice, but we had to go back to the store when we realized we'd been sold a used AND broken tripod. We asked to speak to the manager who was arrogant and had an attitude. You'd think a manager would know a thing or two about customer service or basic politeness, but apparently no. He was rude and extremely arrogant. Will definitely never shop there again.

Unbelievable. Ordered 2 flashes and a trigger for tomorrow and Sunday's weddings, making sure to call to confirm & call again to reconfirm that they would be shipped to arrive today (Friday). Both times the two reps promised everything would ship out to arrive by today. Today I received one small package with one flash. The rest apparently shipped out today. Now I don't have time to buy another flash to work with my system, since only Adorama sells Flashpoint R2 units. I could have gone to the store to pick them up if they had accurately told me they wouldn't ship them out on time. Super disappointed with their staff!!

Great store if you need anything photography relat...

Great store if you need anything photography related or want to order some prints. The staff is always friendly and knowledgeable, i usually order online and come to store to pick it up.
few things to keep in mind not everything is on display so you have to ask for them to bring it up for you, which usually happens quickly.

I like the place, the staff is very friendly, and well trained they know about anything. Today it was my sencond time buying in the store and sadly the last.

For the second time the security guard at the exit door asked me to see my receipt, the first time a couple of months ago I didn t mind. But today I asked why he said he has to, I refused and went back on the line to return what I just purchased.

I guess if your are Brown be prepared to show your receipt before exiting the store I didn t see the security guard asking any white person for receipt, I hate saying this but it s exactly what I ve experienced.

Can't speak for more advanced shoppers, but knowledgeable staff and customer service was great in store. As a beginner, Bill helped me work out a budget friendly set up for my dental office photography. A couple weeks later, when I needed to tweak that set up for a different lens, they gave me no trouble with an exchange and set me back up with the same salesperson who was already familiar with my needs. Very easy experience.

Everything went well with my purchase of a Kawai CA 48 Digital Piano. Piano arrived 6.5 days after order was placed which was kinda long considering I live only about 40 blocks away from the store. But I will not hold that against them because of the whole COVID ongoing thing.

Communication was good re order status. So I can recommend buying from Adorama without reservation.

I am very disappointed with my recent purchase experience with #Adorama. It felt being cheated by #Adorama.

The sale person told me that I will receive the camera kit from Adorama webinar or exhibition stock (almost like new, with 1 or 2 clicks) so that he could offer additional discount towards my trade in (on top of the cash value of my used gears). I agreed the purchase without asking too much what 'webinar stock' really means.

But things have gone bad. First, the camera kit arrived in separate orders. I received accessories first , then the lens but the camera body was missing. I contacted the CS and got the camera body shipped......

The lens was wrapped in plastic bubble bags, tagged with 'USED' , no original box and papers. The lens showed many signs of use, stretches on the ring. The lens mount shows marks. The glass has water spots and dust. I have no doubt that it has been heavily used. Also, there is no where on the package shows the condition of usage (Adorama usually shows an index of used condition).

I contacted Adorama CS and asked for exchange. The CS person said that they shipped the wrong lens and sent me a return label for exchange. However I didn't get any confirmation about when I will receive a new lens

Today, I finally received the camera body. It came with original box and paper. It seems being used but not as bad as the lens. Ironically , I also received an empty lens box without the lens...where is the lens?? What a mess! #Adorama

The products I received do match what was explained to me. Please do not fool your customer.

What happened to me is really unfortunate. Please think twice before you choose to trade in with #Adorama.

Let me start off by saying I used to only order from Adorama exclusively. I have spent over 10k in gear from them. They were the most competitive in pricing and included free gifts/promotions when purchasing big ticket items.

Recently I purchased a new 16" Macbook Pro and they included free ground shipping over their normal 2nd day shipping that they used to in the past. They also charge sales tax to CA now which they previously did not. Not a major gripe but just a slight downgrade in the amazing shipping and customer service that I was used to from them in the past.

Customer service Sales rep was not welcoming and was not helpful at all. I Call B&H right after and the person helped me with everything. I was gonna buy a Red Camera from them but nope B&H will get money!!!! The first customer service rep was a female and she was very pleasant let me add BUT the sales rep was a male. For a first time customer on big purchase I dont think I would feel comfortable ordering from here unless management or the owner hire better staff.

I had originally requested an email quote. I was contacted by phone several days later by a sales agent. He explained the shipping process, which was more than fair, and I inquired about timing and a rough expected value. He told me to expect around $300 for the trade in (Phantom 3 Standard quad copter), and that he would get back to me 2-3 days after the shipment was received.

I sent in the item. I then received an email stating that he would be in contact within 5-7 business days, far longer than the 2-3 days the agent told me. When I did get a call a week later, it was from a different person. He told me that the total assessed value was $320, meaning my 70% cut was $230. This was far less then the agent had insinuated. While I did have the option to return the item, its always very risky to ship these items, UPS typically breaks something. I decided that selling was my best option, but I was not happy about it.

Either the agent was misleading or unclear, but had I know $230 was the likely sales price, I never would have sent this in. I consider these sales tactics to be deceptive and misleading, and I will not be doing business with Adorama or recommending this company to anyone in future.
