I spent most of my time at the used counter talking to Angel. What a great guy. Personable and knowledgeable; definitely an asset in a retail environment and I hope Adorama acknowledges him for these qualities. As for gear, I found their prices very reasonable and purchased some gorgeous old Hasselblad gear. I'll definitely be back. As for other sales associates, many seemed rushed, but this is NYC and the shop was very busy, so they have to work fast. Everyone I encountered was helpful.

I ordered almost $3000 from adorama . A 24 printer with free display calibrator and 2 different rolls of paper . The order shipped out split up into 3 orders . They where not shipped on the same day . One of the papers was on back order when site said in stock . Charged me for shipping when it said free shipping . I have the screen shot on the free shipping . The guy who sold me the printer told me the ink that came with it should last a while . Sense then I have learned that it is just starter ink so I have to buy more . Called adorama 2 times and the first time the guy who sold me the print answered and was no help. Transferred me to a lady that didn t have any knowledge of anything in my order . She answered on the second call and still no info . The guy who sold me the printer was only worried about getting my order placed instead of answering my questions about it . Very unorganized it seemed to me .

Probably the worst retail service I've ever experi...

Probably the worst retail service I've ever experienced in my life. I traded in a lens that was barely used and got a fraction of trade-in value. Naively, I proceeded with the trade in and invested in the Flashpoint XPLOR 600 Pro TTL with a Nikon-compatible R2 transmitter. Lo and behold, the monolight unit was delivered but the transmitter was only compatible with Canon cameras. Not only did this blunder cost me numerous paid shoots, but there were false promises made to correct the problem. I was told by Lewis Arthur that "we're doing everything we can to rectify the problem and that somebody will come in contact with you today or tomorrow." That was five business days ago and nobody has reached out to me. I called in earlier today and was told that they could not send the correct unit until the incorrect one was received back in their store. This error has cost me hundreds in missed shoots with only a response of "we apologize for the inconvenience." I highly recommend going to B&H for all your photo and video needs.

I've only had this D750 a week and I'll update this post if anything changes, but so far so good! Feels very secure in the hand, controls are easy to manipulate, and the online manual is very helpful. Pictures are crisp and clean.
Working with Adorama was super. Fast efficient service and box was packed well.

Excellent customer service personnel who act in a most efficient manner in assisting the customer. Very fast shipping accompanies their unbeatable prices. Quality merchandise is derived from Adorama. The policies relating to shipping and returns are unequaled by any. We would highly recommend Adorama.

Abysmal customer service, lack of transparency, poor communication, and blatant falsehoods prevalent. I submitted a customer service ticket and was met with a short, dismissive, poorly-typed response that didn't address the issue I was having, whatsoever. I then submitted another response to that ticket and have yet to hear anything. I find it unbelievable that a company like this cares so little about customer satisfaction. I will never be doing business with Adorama again. If I never hear anything from them again, I will be submitting the entire email and ticket chain here for all to see what I am dealing with. Unbelievable.

Edit: I was eventually refunded, hence the new two-star rating instead of one.

Awesome photo/video supply store, with prices competitive to B&H on some products. The staff is knowledgeable and they seem to have a good handle on their subject matter. My only gripe was that there didn't seem to be enough staff members to assist with any particular need - having to take a number and wait in line behind two or three other people to speak to one specific person about camera gear when there were a handful of other employees idle (presumably not experts on those things) was a little irksome, especially since I was in a bit of a rush. The store seems mostly for displaying cameras, laptops, and lenses, and less for browsing - you should go there if you already pretty much know what you want.

I've always had very good look with Adorama. I used them to purchase a camera bag and it shipped extremely quickly. Another time I ordered off Ebay from them(unwittingly) and received the item just as fast. Today I ordered a new 60D bundle during a special they were running. Here's to hoping the third transaction is a smooth as the last two!

My husband and I had the most wonderful experience at Adorama. The service was awesome each and every time we ve been in the store. The most phenomenal experience was with Will (William) when we bought our beloved Fuji GFX and lens. He was so very helpful and informative and really provided us with some of the best service we EVER had. Definitely highly recommend visiting and buying from Adorama.

I recently created a photo book with Adorama, and I love it. It is far and away the best photo book I've ever seen in terms of quality. Images are crisp, clean and color is perfect. The pages are thick and the cover is substantial. It is really beautiful and did my photos from Kenya justice.

Ehhhh. I do a lot of business w Adorama but this week has been a nightmare. I ordered 4 speedlights and a transmitter. I paid $79 extra for overnight shipping. They did not ship until 2 days later. Then they packaged the items in 2 different boxes and shipped the 2nd box 1 day after that. I had to order extra lights and overnight them to have them here in time for this weekend when I HAD to have them. THEY CHARGED ME FOR OVERNIGHT AND DIDNT EVEN SHIP THE PACKAGE!!! Really disappointed in how bad it s been.

Why pay more when you can get the highest quality ...

Why pay more when you can get the highest quality photo equipment at huge savings? They carry all the well known brands and the staff is very knowledgeable. Order online or better yet, if in NYC, visit the store. You can't go wrong when you buy from Adorama.

If possible I would not even give a Star. I ordered 4 pictures. All came with edges damaged. One picture is not even close to what I sent in terms of the sky color. They do not own their fault and send me replacements. Stay away from this Shady Operation.Take a look at the file I sent and what they sent me back. Disgraceful!

Bad Experience. I was a customer of Adorama for a few years. Decided to upgrade from t6i to a7r iii & tried the Trade-In Program. Though my gear was rated as Excellent I was offered <50% of what I would get if I buy the same product from their used section. Much more to that, the interaction with their team was not impressive once after I shipped my gear.

So, got my gear back in same condition (on 3/16/2018). Tried Focus Camera. Though it was my first transaction with Focus Camera, I got more value for my gear, good discount on new items & lots of "useful & expensive" freebies. Much more to that, I had an impressive interaction with them.

Note: No one recommended me Focus. I just searched in Internet as another Sony dealer. None of my friends / relatives work at Focus. I am a now a happy customer of Focus Camera.

I wish you set the correct expectation in the initial conversation itself. If I was initially offered 70%, I expect 70%. If I was initially offered 50%, I expect only 50%.

I feel bad when I was offered 70% initially & received a final offer for 45% for a D/E+ item. Setting the expectation is important.

Adorama has decided to implement a strategy that I thought died back in the 2000's. The mail-in rebate scam made popular by CompUSA is still in full affect at Adorama. They make you jump through hoop after hoop, gather multiple pieces of information, ask for info that may not even exist...and then, once you've submitted it all...they then make you mail everything to them at YOUR expense!! They have my receipt (it's digital) and have everything I've ordered in their history. Why do I need to mail everything? Why? Because Adorama knows that after everything you do to get this rebate, people will abandon the process for the small $5 they're offering. Shame on you Adorama...I will never buy another thing from your company!

Package has not arrived and Adorama told me to "wait a couple of weeks" because "in their experience, sometimes packages get left on the truck and when they empty the truck they will eventually find it." What!?!?!

This after "guaranteeing" delivery....2 days ago.

Not good customer service. This is will be my last time buying from Adorama.

Very good store. Excellent service and a wide range of products. The sales team simply know everything about cameras and other types of equipment. The trade in department is not so good, however. My quote was lowered in 20% when I went there in person without a reasonable explanation. Also, the way a seller is treated is far from ideal. Sounds like outdated rules of negotiation in which you need to devalue products and people in order to get a better price. Anyways, that represents a single experience; all the others were very satisfactory.

I have been using Adorama for 2 yrs to order my photography classroom supplies. I have spent thousands with this company. I order my supplies before school started in the beginning of Aug and still in Oct I do not have either of my 2 orders. We have called and emailed with empty promises that it will be sent out for delivery and still has not even shipped yet. I will be ordering my students supplies elsewhere from now on. Ridiculous I need these supplies to teach.

Stay away from Adorama...
I received a used product, the camera box did not come sealed, inside the camera box came a person's hair. They didn't send the external charger, they didn't send the LED light.
I tried to contact them twice and they hung up on me. They are not a reliable store ... Their Customer Service sucks

I've only made one purchase here but the purchase I made was great experience! The price was just right and they shipped it out quick. Their inventory was substantial and it was easy to navigate the website to find what I needed.

Kind service. Helped me get a used lens. Its not a very big store. However, the selection is as big as the other big photo gear store and the prices are just as good. I would suggest going to either one, whichever has the item you want. Prices are the same or similar.

Very frustrating experience. I ordered a quantity of 5 of an item online. A few hours later I received an email telling me the item was backordered. I called to cancel and was told the money that s as on hold would be released in 3-7 days. I m not sure why in 2019 any online store isn t using real time inventory levels and would allow me to order something that was back ordered? And to now have to wait for my money to not be on hold any longer is an inconvenience. I will be sure to not use this company in the future.

I called to price a Nikon D810 body and was told I might not be able to get information because it was almost Passover and everyone had gone for the day (it was around 3 pm). I asked about the shutter count on a used demo camera in inventory (demo is their best rating) and when I hesitated over the price for the 20,000+ count body, the agent said he had a better deal with a much lower shutter count. While I did not ask about the used rating on this camera, I assumed that because I specified I wanted a camera in great shape, that s what the agent was recommending. I paid, waited the nearly 2 weeks for processing time due to the company closure, and opened the box to find a $1500 camera body that literally had parts SUPERGLUED back onto it, silver showing on the body from wear, and buttons so worn you can t see their functions anymore. I will shoot two commercial jobs this weekend with a single camera body because this one is in such bad shape there s no way I m keeping it. I m surprised a company would even accept this camera, much less send it out to a customer calling about buying a camera in great shape. Really disappointed and pretty highly inconvenienced.

Guys make sure when you shop with this company!!! Terrible customer service, terrible refund and exchange process!!!!

If you have an option go with different company and especially whatch out when you are shopping on Amazon, they are 3 Rd party sellers!!!

If there is a less than one star I would give them!

I have been a retired professional school picture man since 2012.
My company "always" depended on Adorama. They have never failed me. Not once in all these years. Trustworthy. Fair. Friendly. I could not stand retirement, so I am back again at 61 loving photography and....buying from adorama.

Highly recommended: Amazing selection of camera gear, etc. The staff is incredibly friendly and I have never had to wait in line for long. I go here to pick up my film, which is always in stock and is sold at a great price.

I sent them all email messages with order confirmation shows the 18th. Still did not believe me. Could have ordered from B&H and got it by now. What a shame and disappointment

Great that they don't have sales tax when ordering to a state outside of NY. HOWEVER - do not be fooled by the 'FREE expedited shipping 1-3 business days' for qualifying items - this is actually just UPS 3-Day SELECT so don't assume it'll get to you before 3 business days!

I went to Adorama in NYC looking for a Canon Macro lens. I checked the used section. The gentleman who helped me was extremely professional, knowledgeable, and friendly (Mr. Morris). I even bargained the price to get a better deal, which he didn't let me down, and he offered me the lens I wanted at a price close to my budget. I couldn't have imagined a shop in Manhattan which does so!! In the end, I got the lens I wanted, used, at the budget I wanted. Now opening the lens packing, I found it to be - LIKE BRAND NEW!! Waw, I am amazed that Adorama's used stuff are as good as new!! Definitely recommending this store, and definitely happy with my purchase. It's my first time in Adorama, but confidently becoming a loyal customer. Thank you guys, you win my 5 star easy.

Online order for a used lens took 3 days for them ...

Online order for a used lens took 3 days for them to realize and update my order status online that the used lens was back ordered and that I would not be receiving it. I also called twice and was told that the lens would be shipping. Not sure why they would allow two people to order the same thing. Needed the lens for a trip and now not sure what to do.

Update: They offered me a lens of slightly lesser quality but with a nice discount and free shipping.

Ordered from Adorama and Canon same day, Tuesday, December 17. Shipping confirmed as 2 day for Canon and 3 for Adorama, wherein I need for Sunday. Canon order arrived yesterday, thank you Canon for arriving per your commitment. I see Adorama order is to arrive Monday now. Not ok at all! Customer service does the math and says 3 day is the next Monday from Tuesday. Well, basic math says Wednesday, Thursday and Friday is 3 days and now Adorama had ruined my very important shoot and my Christmas. Do not believe them when they commit to an order arriving on a specific day or in their ability to encourage their customer service into making excuses by trying to tell customers 4-5 days is actually how they count 3 days for shipping.

I was really disappointed with the ordering and shipping times. I ordered a small item on July 19th. It took 3 days for them to put the item into the mail and it is still not here on Jul 27 (5 days later). How is it that Amazon manages to get packages to me 1-2 days after I order it? I will certainly pay a few dollars extra the next time from Amazon and get it when I need it.

My first time shopping here (online) I ordered a laptop. They charged my card and the order sat in processing for months. In fact, on my account, it still says order placed. I emailed and called them and they said they didn't see the order on their end, so it must have been some other seller on their website. I never received the laptop and eventually the money was refunded on its own.

2nd time ordering, I ordered a lens and a tripod. The box arrived crushed and damaged. The lens had no packaging, and no lens caps. It was all scratched up and not something I would consider okay to sell, especially for the price I paid. In all fairness the tripod had packaging of its own and it is a great tripod.

I contacted support for this order and they just sent me a return label. Which is good, I suppose, but now they are just going to resell this to someone else and rip them off too.

BOTTOM LINE: Stay away if you can avoid it. There are plenty of other retailers that have less issues and more respect for their products and customers. Maybe if you live nearby you can at least see the product, but they definitely lost my trust.
