Don't purchase from this vendor. This company is a scam, and their customer service is a joke. They're total unreliable and unresponsive. If something goes wrong with your order, you'll basically on your own. They will never answer your question and mess up every single thing. I will never make any purchase from them, and will share my experience with all my family and friends on social media to urge people to avoid purchasing from them.

Reviewing online trade in experience with Adorama....

Reviewing online trade in experience with Adorama. I've been interested in the new Sigma 60-600 Sport ever since I heard it's a tad sharper than my old 150-600 Sport. I initiated this evaluation process at the beginning of May and today, nearly a month later just got my "new" 60-600mm lens which was bitter sweet. I opened it to find it wasn't shipped with the dock shown on their website so I called to find out what gives and come to find out Adorama sold me an "Open Box" item instead of a brand new one without my knowledge! During the appraisal they sent me an e-mail asking me to call them to discuss the terms of the buy or trade. At this point I had been waiting for several weeks and missed it for a recent flyover of WWII planes (had to use a really old lens). Anyway, on the phone discussing the trade they kinda offered me a little bit low so I asked how about if I trade it so the rep said they could offer a substantial discount. This is what I needed to hear because I could use Payboo with B&H and be discounted the sales tax right out of the gate. No mention of the lens being used was ever made. Actually it's called "open box" but I just take that to mean it was used in or around the store but none the less it was still used. They offered to send me the new dock but no additional discount. Considering a new one would have also come with alot of points towards a future discount and that I could have saved the sales tax at B&H the discount for a used lens amounts to about $10 since they are sending me the dock now that's a total of ~$70. $70 off for this lens amounts to about a 3-4% savings. Would you opt for used for 4% off? So in the end, after nearly an hour on the phone and several e-mails, I'm left with a little bit of a sour taste. To their credit they did offer to allow the return but then I'll be waiting for another week or two and that supposed benefit for trading instead of selling for cash completely evaporates. The lens is mint and they are sending me a dock so in the end I'm going to keep it. What do you think should I just sell to KEH next time? IDK but I'm sure next time I won't be planning on a trade with Adorama, in-fact I'll be re-considering my future purchases with them.
5/28 UPDATE: After seeing my online review Adorama customer support reached out to me. I've updated my review to reflect the entirety of the experience which I believe is four stars. I save the 5th star because it shouldn't have been this involved. I have to say after the third time dealing with Adorama customer support I'm much more a fan. I'm still a little worried for future dealings as no one wants to have three rounds of phone conversations to solve one issue but at the end of the day they did everything I feel is reasonable to accommodate me and try to make it right. Thank you Adorama, be in touch again soon. I think some of the issues in communicating with them may be rooted in a NY disposition whereas I've been living in South Texas for a long time. I understand they're usually in a hurry but pausing to hear a customer's story along with it's relevant tangents all the while focusing on that listening and not what next to say is essential to solving any concern.

Two days ago I posted a negative review of this company when products that I purchased from them were not working and I was unable to get any help from their support department or the store. I was sure that I was going to have to wait until Monday afternoon when I get off work before I would be able to get a resolution to the issue because their posted hours say that they are closed all weekend. I was very surprised to receive a call today (Sunday) from someone in their support department that was able to help resolve my issue in a matter of minutes! Completely opposite from what I wrote before, that is amazing customer service for a company to respond to an issue outside of posted service hours! They have definitely regained my trust and support and I will be doing business with and recommending Adorama in the future!

DECEPTIVE COMPANY! When I placed my first order for a computer keyboard on a weekend (when they were closed), they showed a great price of $44 and IN STOCK which would ship the next business day. Come Monday, when I checked shipment, they showed "BACKORDERED" and THEY STARTED SELLING IT ON THEIR WEBSITE FOR $50.

Meaning, if they can find another higher paying customer after you order, they will put your order on hold and ship to the guy who came after you!

This company appeared to be fraud even when I had spoken to them on the phone several years ago but this time I thought I'd give them a try by placing a real order. MY GOD! Save yourself. I canceled my order.

Dan helped me get exactly the parts I needed and compare available options at my leisure, while simultaneously fielding questions from other customers. I purchased 2000 dollars worth of camera equipment from Adorama. I check my email today while I'm in Mexico (I live in the US) and see that the package wasn't delivered because Adorama requires signature confirmation. I was not told this at time of order and I DID NOT WANT NOR DO I EVER WANT signature confirmation. I travel for work and would never be able to receive any packages if I used this service.

Customer service refuses to release the signature confirmation even after I offered to give a written statement of liability release. I will not be purchasing my A7rII from here (or anything else for that matter).

Customer service is also misrepresented as being "in store" but they are a contracted outside firm. Just FYI.

If you are a traveling photographer I would recommend finding another place to do business.

By all means do not buy from them online especially if the item is used. listen to the review. If you buy a used item no one turn on the camera or check the item to see if it's in working condition they will sell the item without even checking if it's okay. Bought a used camera from adorama and of course they sent me a defective item .. customer service is the worse believe me they can't figure out A from B and they have no knowledge about cameras. If you're returning an item to Adorama make sure you take a video of you returning the item. Because there storage room is very on organized and they will miss track of your shipment and tell you it's not there and will hold on to your money even if you have already ship the item in 2 weeks prior.... I might have to do a legal lawsuit to get my money back .... don't make the mistake and buy a used item online from Adorama... trust me it's not worth it. Ebay is a better option.

I purchased a Sigma lens from Adorama when I was in NYC a few months ago, which was a pleasant experience. The sales employee who helped me (William) was businesslike but knowledgeable and helpful. The store is relatively small but clean and certainly not short on merchandise. It makes B&H look like a bit of a zoo, but both are quality stores in their own way.

The reason I decided to leave a 5 star review was not because of my first purchase but because of my second one: an online purchase of a Nikon-refurbished D7200. I decided to penny-pinch and chose standard shipping, even though I was cutting it close with my upcoming vacation. The original UPS date of arrival was delayed once (they do seem to have more than the usual issues with UPS), but the camera still arrived in great condition within the stated 10 business days - 2 days before my trip.

When I tried to charge the battery, however, it wouldn't charge. I immediately called Adorama and explained my situation to Salvin D, who had sent me a confirmation email for a replacement charger with free overnight shipping almost before I could ask. While they couldn't overnight me a new battery (a UPS restriction), he put me in touch with Nikon support to try to troubleshoot the issue. The charger arrived the next day and solved the issue, and I got to take some great shots on my trip.

Thanks for the excellent customer service. I'll be shopping with Adorama again in the future.

The place is smaller than i expected but that didn't prevent me from quickly finding what i was looking for and much more. Staff is very friendly, my check out was fairly quick. I did not see a parking lot area, but I wasn't concerned since i wasn't driving anyway.

Would not recommend. You'll have better luck with Amazon. They quote you one price for trade ins then once recieved quote you less than half of what they originally said. I bought the lens from them. Used one and suddenly it's worth less than half.. horrible customer service. I'm appalled that nyip is partnered with them.

It looks nice and sounds good. I only gave four stars because the connection for the pedals is underneath the piano and hangs down. If you hit it, you're going to break it. It's not a common/universal hook-up. Its a two wire harness.

I had a Zoom call scheduled with my boss and I couldn't use the virtual background feature on my phone or tablet. I was fortunate enough to score a Green Extreme T200 HD Webcam from Adorama. It was so easy to order online and then do a same-day sidewalk pickup. This webcam is awesome - literally all you do is position it on top of the monitor and plug it into the USB. The video quality was so good that my boss didn't realize that I was using a jpeg of Celeste's $6 million house from Big Little Lies as a stand-in for my tiny studio. (I had planned to 'fess up at the beginning that it wasn't my apartment but I was really surprised that my boss had no idea it was virtual).

I had a nice cashier yet the salesperson who I had to deal with? Not so much. I asked about a Nikon 85mm F1.4. I ll admit, my wife and I looked a bit rough from walking with our gear in the heat, yet it was no excuse for the gentleman s turnt up noses at us. It wasn t once, it was twice because we had to get a few things for our other cameras.
We were going to buy the lens yet after today? We ll take our money elsewhere.

Here is what I have to say - amazing customer service. Ben Lowensohn (the office manager) is a thorough gentleman, and consummate, considerate customer service proponent.

After a brief confusion about the kit, and lens - Ben rectified the problem, and took personal care to make sure I received the right kit.

The deal on the camera was unbeatable - and the customer service - highly satisfactory.

Now, I'm going to go enjoy my camera!

The customer service has not been helpful at all. I do not recommend people purchasing anything from this website. Recently I just upgrade my camera to Nikon D810, and I just purchased a sigma 50mm lens. Because I m planning to go to India in few weeks so I have to decided to purchased another lens which is Sigma 24-105 lens for my trip. When I googled it, Adorama wedsite pop up and it shows the price $606 which is not bad for a used lens. Since I have a Nikon Camera so I was making sure it is a Nikon lens. Everything on the description looks good so I purchased it. After a week, I receive the lens and I found out it was a canon lens.

Here s how it start. I called them nicely for exchange because I want a Nikon lens, not a canon lens. The representive asked for to pay for the shipping cost if I want to exchange but I told them I didn t make any mistake and I read it very carefully when I made the purchase. Then he was kind of mad but anyways he sent me a email for shipping label.

After a week I called them to see if they got the package because my trip is coming up soon so I need the lens ASAP. One of the representatives who picked up the phone sounded very aggronant. He told me they don t have used sigma 24-105mm for Nikon. They have a new one which is 800ish and very expensive for me .

This very tip me off. First of all I already spent $600 on the website, and you won t think I can spend $200 on the new one? Even though I m doing photography as a hobby, but god damn I spent almost $4000 on my Nikon 810, sigma 50mm lens, and $600 for the wrong lens. I m sure $200 more won t kill me.

Anyhow, I usually don t get mad easily but their attitude toward customers are terrible. I own a business and I m pretty sure what I m talking about. There are many competitors on the market, Either the product is unique or you better have god damn good service.

A business is tested when an issue occurs.

I've been a long time customer (over 3 years) of Adorama since they have great prices and haven't had any issues until last week.

I received a package with missing contents which seems like it was caused by UPS internal but that's not for me to say. If you have this kind of issue, KEEP EVERYTHING. They will ask for detailed pics and UPS will come to pickup whatever is left of it for investigation.

The customer service wasn't as fast as Amazon, but Helen / Leah resolved my issue within 4 business days. The delay is understandable. I'm sorry for comparing it with a giant like Amazon. With the amount I saved, I'd still stick with Adorama.

Salesman misrepresented every action of the transaction. Bought a brand new Canon 5d MK IV received a used you in the mail. The other salesman said that was the one that was supposed to be sent even though I had paid for a brand new one. A new Canon was supposed to be sent over night it took 5 days to receive it. Still trying to get a refund for the original camera since I was charged twice. I would rather give them a 0.

Had a bad experience using Flexshopper through Adorama's website, and after a very frustrating 5 days of zilch ...Helen Oster got in touch with me to help. She was professional and kind to me, and put Flexshopper on point. They suddenly were helpful. I appreciate her greatly and hope that this company knows what an asset she truly is to them. Without her, this review could have been a bad one. Instead - 5 stars.

Highly unorganized and no product knowledge. Gave me a run-around for several weeks. Bought 2 Nikon Falshpoint Speedlight Kits that come with a battery pack for Nikon as one unit. They sent me 2 Canon battery packs instead. Even had it on the invoice as well, even though the kit and the flash state Nikon on the invoice. Was told by customer service once the return package was scanned and on it's way, the correct ones would ship with tracking # sent to me. That did not happen after incorrect items were even delivered back, so I contacted them and wanted to make sure the correct ones were shipped. They had a picture online of the speedlight port listed in the product description, along with the pack and it's port. I figured they had the wrong pack port image, since my Nikon had a 4 female whole port which customer service confirmed with the same image I saw on line which you can see below. But the packs had a 3 part port, so I question how that would possibly fit a 4 female port in the flash. They needed the warehouse to confirm the correct pack would fit the flash before sending. This went on for 10 days with me contacting every few days to get an update, till finally I got fed up with hearing the warehouse is checking 2.5 weeks later. I spoke to a supervisor who within 1 hour determined the picture online was incorrect for the port and the correct port is on the front of the flash. He said it would be shipped over night, since I said clients had been waiting on me here in P.A. That was on Wed. The product shipped Fri and is due for delivery Mon. They just updated the correct pictures online. The original was delivered to me Feb 5th and correct ones due for Feb 25th. I understand mistakes happen, but that's 3 weeks with a lot of run-around talk, and completely unacceptable to me. Should have been resolved much sooner. First and probably last time shopping with Adorama. In all the years shopping with B&H, I've never had an experience even close to this.

Wait, it gets better, it's now Monday and what did they send? You guessed it , Canon battery packs after 3 weeks of discussing this with customer service and a supervisor. I've attached that invoice as well. Take note of how they cancelled the Nikon ones in the invoice. I'm getting my money back, and simply will use it to buy extra batteries and change the batteries by hand. Too bad I already invested in Flashpoint speedlights and strobes, but thank god I still have my Nikon gear.

I purchased my C200 from Adorama a few weeks ago and the camera is amazing, but the customer service with Adorama has been nothing but a nightmare.

Those looking to bundle should beware that they will bait and switch you. In my case, a servo grip was included with the lens I purchased, but it didn't arrive with the shipment. I was encouraged at first because customer service said they would ship it out right away, but then an email came several days later saying that the included accessory - which appeared in the cart - was not included.

Since then, it's been hours spent on the phone and days spent waiting for promised return calls that never come.

You should absolutely get this camera, just buy it from a local shop. The short term savings from buying this online aren't worth the headaches and added costs later on.

Placed an order for expensive item with overnight ...

Placed an order for expensive item with overnight delivery.

Received from them email saying that order is accepted and received assurance from their phone support that everything is ok with this urgent order and that they will ship it shortly.

Nothing happened next day. No emails, nothing.

My credit card got charged TWICE for 1058$ and ONCE the charge was reversed/released.

Next day on their order tracking page I found out that order was cancelled.

Their support replies with form letters about credit card fraud and how sorry they are, but still not helpful.

As of time of this writing they still hold 1058$ of my money, without intention of delivering anything, all the while lecturing me about credit card fraud.

I expect that Adorama eventually will figure out what went wrong and will return the money or I will do a charge-back, whatever.

This item was supposed to be picked up by a friend and delivered to another country. This is why the order was urgent. This item was intended as a gift to a child and this item was anticipated a lot.

A child cried because of Adorama's negligence and incompetence. A child cried because I made a mistake of relying and depending on Adorama. Unfortunately, this is not something that can be undone.

Do not repeat my mistake, do not rely and do not depend on Adorama.

Disappointed. I ordered a computer and Adorama offered a free "two day delivery". I confirmed. After three days the computer did not arrive. I visited their website and it says that due to Passover they will be shipping out items with a nine days delay! Unacceptable.

A great alternative for that large camera store in the city. They have a very knowledgeable staff and host a decent amount of workshops for photographers of all levels. I run my own photography business and can always rely on Adorama to get me what I need when I need it.

We purchased a drone from Adorama. The drone keeps having signal error, so we contacted the manufacturer who informed us the drone is defective. We then contacted Adorama for a replacement. We packed the drone carefully with lots of buffer materials and sent it back. The next thing we knew is that Adorama claims that we sent an empty box. We tried to contact them many times and ask them to look through the package carefully because the drone is in there. We've tried to call so many times, and every time the agent would say someone will call you within 24 hours. However, we've never received any phone calls. We tried to call again today, the agent told us someone will give us a call in 30-60 minutes. It's been 2 hours already. I don't understand why they keep avoiding us. We asked them to please provide a photo of the box so that we can point to them where we placed the drone, but they declined to do so. We make purchases on Amazon regularly, and occasionally would also return items, but we've never experienced any incidents like this before. Now, we don't even know who to ask for help. They miss placed the item, and now they are asking their customer to pay for their own mistake. Not only is Adorama unreliable, but it keeps playing tricks on its customer. I truly don't understand.
