Since my first review I received new information with regards to refrigerant charges. The technician explained I needed three pounds of R410A refrigerant at $110 /pound. Being ignorant of the cost of the refrigerant I told him OK for the $330 charge. The next day I had lunch with my usual HVAC man and he told me he charged $28 / pound of R410A refrigerant!! After further investigation I found that you can buy R410A refrigerant for about $5 / pound!!! I also paid labor charges of $59 which seems reasonable. However, I can t quite understand why the A#1 Air technician charged me 4 times as much for the same refrigerant. What do you think?
