Had a late night issue where the A/C stopped working. Things were further complicated by our 2 month newborn and 15 year old dog, neither of which can handle high temps in the house. Serviceman "Wiley" was dispatched at 2am and was at our house in less than 45 minutes. He was extremely courteous and professional and very sympathetic to our situation. Although the issue could not be resolved during his visit, I feel his conduct deserves recognition. Thank you Wiley and the A1 night crew for being there for us!

Great service!! Patrick answered all my questions and never positioned himself as trying to sell me something I didn't need. Conveyed a sense that he was honest and well meaning. He spoke of the company and the owners with an obvious pride and commitment that is rarely seen these days. Would definitely do business with this company again.
Terrible company!!! STAY AWAY. Had 2 brand new units installed a month ago and 1 unit has broken down 5 times. Additionally one of the workers put his foot through the ceiling which required a contractor to come in and repair it. Tried to reach Brandon the Field Manager who sold me the units and he never returned my calls. Obviously this company only interested in selling the equipment but don t stand by they re work.
A1's Compressor was fried (shorted out) and naturally tripped breaker, A1 said breaker was broke, charged $99 and left. The breaker was fine. They did not attempt to troubleshoot the problem. if they would would have turned off the outside AC breaker they would see that the inside AC breaker was fine and would reset. The problem was their compressor that they installed. then they wanted to send their electrician to replace the panel breaker that did not need replaced to steal another $300. We called another HVAC company to replace the unit. Don't call them. They can't troubleshoot most basic simple, on versus off problem. Don't let them rip you off.
I have gone through a lot of AC contractors and let me tell you, A#1Air is the best, Sam & Jamal were very professional! They arrived on time and immediately identified my issue. They made specific recommendations and performed all the repairs in just an hour. During and after the repair Jamal and Sam educated me on my system and how to maintain it properly going forward. These guys were awesome!

We had a damaged condenser coil leaking Freon. Clinton R came out and diagnosed the issue quickly, then returned to install new coil. He was very professional and and great service A#1 Air.
My 79 year old mother called me to ask me to post something for her online because she doesn t have internet . she had problems with her heater Few months back and she wanted to let your company know that the kindness, respect and helpfulness Matt Sistruck showed made her so happy. She said that he seemed to genuinely care about helping her and her sweet boy Domino get heat. He even put a bulb in her porch light. I appreciate this gentleman and your company for doing those things and treating my mother with the respect she deserves and not taking advantage of an older person.
Chris, provided excellent service in replacing my evaporator coil. He was very professional, accommodating of my schedule, and he took the time to answer all my questions. He was genuinely interested in providing the best solution for the best price.
From the moment we contacted A #1 Air, to the end of the service call, we were pleased by the great customer service. Justin was very personable & knowledgeable. He let us know of problems with our system but was not pushy about selling parts or a new system. I know I dislike a pushy sale, like most people, and he was far from pushy. When we DO decide to upgrade our system, it will be with A #1 Air!
Price is very high. Overcharged for service performed. They claimed customer service will get back to me. Never did. Don t use Too Expensive. Will overcharge. They take credit card and charge it as they like.
Laren is the kind of person you want working for you! But he is not the problem, the issue I have is the cost to fix my heater, a $10.00 flame sensor, and was charged $250.00 for it plus $39.00 dispatch fee. Great service but I can't believe the mark-up charge.

Tried to sell me a $10,000 complete system when all I needed was a recharge. The service guy said my system was 10 pounds low and needed so much work it would cost more to fix. When I said no, he lowered the price but said it was only good right then. I told him I wanted to shop around and he told me if I did that I'd lose the lower price. Talk about high pressure sales! Luckily I said no. I called another company and they put 3 pounds of freon in. My system has worked for months since then. I will never use this company again.
After sending an email to customer service and speaking with Leslie our issue was resolved very quickly. The new Technician that came out was kind, courteous and fixed the problem that the other technician overlooked. Thanks again for responding so promptly.

We paid over $7,000 for a new AC which was not installed properly. In less than 3 months it s not working correctly and when we call they take hours to come out. The first technician claimed there was nothing wrong, we called again after a couple of days when our AC wasn t cooling properly. 9PM at night and they still haven t shown up. They do not care about their customers and their technicians are not professional. They drop tools all over hardwood floors not giving a care in the world if they scratch it up. When we finally do get them to fix this for free because it s under warranty, I will never use them again. Horrible customer service!!!! They don t care about you after you have spent thousands of dollars!!!
I have received both good and poor service from this company, however, they have always made things right in the end. They are a bit pricy, but I am okay with that if they stand by their work. This visit I was fortunate enough to have Dustin B. come out to my house when the AC failed late at night, and I am extremely impressed with the level of service he provided. Dustin went above and beyond to make sure that I had AC restored ASAP which meant the word to me since I have a newborn in the house. He returned late that night when my AC failed again (after his shift) to put in a temporary fix and even came back on his day off to finish the repair with all of the correct parts. I will request him by name in the future... excellent customer service!
Sam did a great job servicing my HVAC equipment for fall. When there was a problem getting the AC to come on after servicing, he wouldn't quit till it was fixed. Turned out to be fuse had blown. He devoted extra time to ensure everything was in working order. I do like the quality of work by A#1 Air, but I wish they wouldn't try to up sell additional services each time.
My daughter who resides next door had reccommended A-1 Plumbing due to prior experience. I'm so pleased that I listened to her and called to make an appointment. Mark called first to keep us informed as to what time he would arrive and did so to the minute!! First used this company 22 years ago when the company was A#1Appliance and just had my home Heating and A/C all replaced times two and look forward to a long relationship with a reputable company.
We used A#1 Air because of their reputation and BBB rating. Paul O. and his team did a great job. We had a couple of things happen that were not anticipated but they patiently took care of the problems and finished installation within the time quoted. Later that first evening the unit quit and another technician (Jeffrey S) arrived within a few hours. He took care of the problem, probably caused by the old unit, and we've been very satisfied since then. The new heat pump is keeping our house much more comfortable than when it was new, 10 years ago.
Very good company and team. Highly recommend. Adam was polite, helpful and hardworking. He needs a raise because he represents your company well. You're lucky to have hm.
The technician, John Guerrero was very knowledgeable and got right to work and diagnosed the problem I was having. He was friendly and was pleasant to be around. He also gave me some suggestions on how I could improve my air units in my home. I will definitely take him up on those suggestions during the Fall Season. If I could hand pick who comes out and does my service I would pick John. He is great!

Jordan was one of the nicest and most polite service technicians that's performed work for me in any field. I've used A#1 Air in the past and they are normally very good. I was displeased this time because they really dropped the ball on getting my plenum installed. It took over a month for them to come back and install the part. That wasn't Jordan's fault though. Their technicians are amazing. Their scheduling could use some work.
A#1 Air has excellent customer service. The service men who have been out to our house are polite and knowledgeable. We saw Adolpho today. He helped us with our problem and saved us money.
Judging from the web site and the youtube videos, it's looks like these people really know their stuff. Don't ask me though as I don't have a clue. I never got the opportunity to do business with them. My system is cold but old. I requested a quote for a completely new system. I waited from 8AM to 3:30PM (the on the way call) and finally cancelled at 5PM as there still wasn't anyone there. If there's not time for new business, it's only prudent to assume there will not be time for emergency calls. Of the few employees I did talk to, I found them genuine and very, very polite.
Upgrading from 1 to 4 stars. Customer service scheduled another appointment and was very helpful. Bubba showed up on time and was very knowledgeable and honest. My estimate was completed as requested. I would recommend A#1.
My dad called them when our HVAC went out in August (which is awful in Texas). My mom had just returned from a surgery, so we were super worried when it went out, but these guys were able to come in same day and install an entirely new unit before 5! We are so greatful!
I had a complete AC and furnace replacement done on my new home by A#1 Air a couple of years ago. They were very professional and did a great job. I haven't had a single issue with it since, and my bills decreased.
A#1 Air called in December offering a deal for an electrical safety inspection on my home, which I accepted. Oscar arrived on time, was very friendly and courteous, and demonstrated how knowledgable he was and explained things thoroughly. He identified that my Federal Pacific breaker panel was unsafe (I sorta knew that, but he provided the scary details) and that the house wasn't properly grounded to current regs, and we discussed adding/replacing some lighting fixtures. Oscar provided an estimate and I scheduled for the work to be done after the holidays.
Oscar arrived on time to the scheduled appointment and got to work right away. He and his helper, Logan, were very efficient and able to accomplish all of the scheduled work well within the estimated window of time, minimizing the time the power was off to the house. Everything was completed to satisfaction.
I continue to be impressed with the services A#1 Air has provided for my home. I will continue to turn to them for my AC/heating needs, and will definitely reach out to them, and Oscar, for future electrical needs.
Quincy Hughes found the problem quickly and recommended the need for a complete new unit. He was very patient in explaining the problem(s) and showing me pictures of how aged it was---that it needed replacing. Service Tech diagnose the wrong problem to a tune of $2175.00. Had a Honest company come out and repaired it for $365.00 I guess the HVAC business is slow and time to gouge the customers be careful
I called A#1 air and needed my system looked at because a sensor was going off. They installed 2 high efficiency units which have saved us soooo much money on electric bills. And are extremely quiet. They sent out a tech Roy Ferrusca. He quickly diagnosed the problem and got us up and going. He also noted how bad the ducts were after we had just done multiple home renovations. We signed up to get them cleaned due to my bad allergies and wanting to keep our unit s efficiency levels up. We regularly recommend A#1 and are thankful for the high quality service and professionalism we get each and every time. Thank you A#1 and Roy.
Excellent customer service experience, Roy the tech was very helpful, my AC had some electrical issues,I called them at 5:59pm and they told me that they were booked for the night but that they would try to squeeze me in, and they did!!...they arrived around 8pm and had my AC up and running short after. Such friendly and knowledgeable staff, I am happy my air system is in good hands! Thanks y all!

Sam A and Jamal came to my house and serviced my A/C unit on 11-24-2020. I personally requested hi to do my maintenance because he's been doing an excellent job on my system on precious visits. He also installed the Green Air UV Light as we previously discussed when he did the Spring maintenance.. He completed his job efficiently and professionally. I certainly would want Sam A to continue doing my service. A#1 Air staff also were kind enough to keep me informed on Sam's and Jamal's schedule of arrival. Although I work from home full time, I certainly appreciates these calls.
When our a/c went out, A#1 Air came out on Saturday and repaired our current unit at no charge until our new unit was installed.
Manny, our sales rep. and the technicians who performed the install were professional and fast. They provided great customer service and were extremely effecient.

He gave us great advise on how to maintain the systems in between services and was not at all pushing in his recommendations. I have a service appt. today between 11-2 pm. I waited until 3pm and they never called me or showed up. I called them to asked them why? And they told me that they never got a response from anybody. They claimed that they cancelled the appt. because nobody answered the phone. But I never received a call on my home or cell. Very disappointed.
Another success story with A#1 Air. The comfort technician came to the house on Sunday evening, diagnosed the problem, and was extremely professional. Can't thank A#1 Air enough. Customer for life.

On August 3rd I had a service tech from A#1 come out, as our AC unit was not cooling like normal. They came same day and added freon and we thought the problem was solved.
An hour later, our AC unit started to throw a breaker and another tech came out and told us the compressor had been shocked from the added freon and was no longer working. We were told a new unit would be needed and within a few hours, a sales person was at the door and sold me an 4 ton unit (just AC, not complete system) that was priced at 7K plus. I knew this was high but at the time had literally just come home from a hospital with a newborn that day and needed it taken care of ASAP.
Unit was installed 2 days later and this is where I had nothing but issues with A#1. Hours after the unit was installed, we still didn't have a cool house. It was late that night before it finally cooled off. Wondering if it was an issue, I had another tech come out. This one told me that the installers do not always know how much freon is needed and that it was already low. Over the next several days, my brand new unit could not get my house below 79 durning the day.
I gave it a few days and contacted customer service. They were quick to act as though the problem would be resolved but it was a few days before I heard anything back. It was then several more days waiting on a special tech to come out and measure my air vents. It was several more days of getting no response to which I called again and was told the tech hadn't even submitted my results yet. It was another week of waiting to hear back from customer service before I once again called.
It's now been a 3 week process of still dealing with an expensive, brand new unit that does not cool as well as my "older" unit. I've had techs say other techs did not know what they were doing, I've had paperwork and phone calls not returned or dealt with, and today had a sales person tell me they had left me several messages and that I had not responded (I've looked over every phone call over the last 2 weeks and not one was from the sales person).
I would in no way ever recommend A#1 Air. I called them because it was an emergency and I had heard they were a great company. I've seen and experienced nothing but poor service.

He walked us through the process of upgrading and making our home the most efficient it could be! Great conversation and I would highly recommend. Once we accepted his offer and finalized, we set an installation date and that's when Paul O. entered our home with his crew and began installation. He was polite and walked us through his process very thoroughly. He handled our concerns with grace and was a pleasure to work with. Jeff L. performed the plumbing work and was exception as well. Sam was very knowledgeable on AC units and duct work. He took the time to explain everything in detail and provided us with a detailed written estimate. He was on time and very polite.
Their tech tried to tell me the fan motor was bad when it was capacitor problem only. Long story short, he replaced the capacitor. In less than 6 months, that capacitor starts failing. I have called the company numerous times, talking to different people who pass the buck and no one calls me back about warranty of their products. In fear of ruining the motor, I had another company replace the capacitor (5 year warranty) and found A #1 Air did not mount it correctly which caused it to prematurely fail. I think they need to take " "guaranteed right day or night" out of their slogan!
***Update***. Thank you for responding to my review but to little too late. As my review stated, I already paid another company to fix it correctly. Your company had the chance to make it right and failed.
Patrick with A#1Air has taken great care of us in the last year. Our recently installed Lennox (7/2018) capacitor went out, Patrick decided the capacitor was bad , needed replaced. He spent the whole day today installing a new capacitor ( generation 2) hopefully, it will be good for years to come - he also programmed our remi halo ( air purifier) Patrick takes his time and does the job right the first time! We are very happy with his work, professionalism, and friendliness! Hers a few pics I took today - rain, shine , sleet or snow- Patrick with #1 Air is on the go!!!! Now, I only wish I had a photo of three A#1 Air was in my driveway, seriously ..... three vans working here Plumbing- installing 50 amp electric outlet And installing an A/C ! I love A#1Air!!!
Jim was awesome. He new what was going on and fixed the issue within minutes. He was professional and friendly. He made me feel like I had known him for years. He also gave me great knowledge about my unit and showed me what my issue was with my back bedroom not getting any flow of air. The A-1 Air team is amazing. Our thermostat stopped working, and we tried to troubleshoot it ourselves for two days. Finally, in frustration we called A-1. They were out within 2 hours and fixed the issue immediately! The tech was so friendly and on it, and his Santa hat brought us a little holiday cheer too! Highly recommend!

2018 Review: Everything/one exceeded my expectations from the initial phone call to the service. I was able to get a same-day a/c service call on a Friday. The technician, Rocky, was friendly and extremely knowledgeable. He provided great advice.
Used these guys at the recommendation of someone for whom A#1 installed their A/C. I used them today for plumbing. Great communication on arrive time, very clean and polite service tech, got the job done, and made recommendation on the damage that chlorine cleaning tablets can have on your toilet tank.
Best of all - it was MUCH cheaper than other plumbing services I have used. Way to go, Jeff L, you did your company proud today.
To add on to this review - just had an electrician leave my from A#1 (Zachary D). He was as awesome as the plumber. Cared about ensuring my house was clean and went above and beyond to do a little extra. I appreciated that he first examined the items that needed work, explained what he would be doing, and provided an upfront cost.
A/C wasn't working so I called OneGuard originally since the house has an insurance policy with coverage on the A/C. They scheduled me with a 1 star company that could not come out for 3 days. Since it was 95 degrees outside, I started looking on the web for another company and found A-1. Their rating is 4.5 stars so I decided to give them a call. I called at 2pm and they had someone out by 3:15pm the same day which was a Friday! The problem was something very simple and fixed within 15 min. Since it was fixed so quick, the service guy checked the entire system inside and out, and washed the condenser on the unit. Then gave a few recommendations on the system since it was 13yrs old. I highly recommend A-1 for any A/C problem and plan to use them again when needed.
Toby was very helpful & provided fantastic customer service. He had great recommendations and asked me the right questions to determine what system would best fit my needs & budget.
Taylor Petersen responded quickly to our request for help with our air conditioner. He promptly discovered the problem with our 10 year old system and offered reasonable options for potential solutions. We have used A#1 Air for several years to "tune up" our system in the spring and fall and have appreciated their thoroughness and professional bearing.

We've been customers for the past five years and have had prompt and professional service every time someone came to our home. Our AC went out yesterday in the middle of the day. I called a few places and they said they couldn't be out for a few days. I called A#1 Air and they said they could be out the same day! We waited for them to come, we originally was told he would be there at midnight, he came at 1:30 am. Which we don't mind because our air conditioner is working now! They kept us updated on the time he would show up and was very friendly! He turned the AC on and it worked! We made him come out for no reason at all. He told us our compressor probably over heated and shut down. Which makes sense since we live in Texas and it is constantly on and running. We told him we have had some issues with our heater and didn't know why it wasn't working. He said he could take a look at it. After a few tests he found that our gas valve stopped working (my husband looked it up a few weeks ago and he thought that was what had happened). We will replace it and luckily we found this out before winter this year! Bryan did an amazing job and went above what he was there for. I suggest them, we had a great experience! All in all our total was $19.95 for the service call and our gas valve will be $400 which is was better than the whole thing being replaced!
