A year or so after buying our home, our AC unit was said to not be working or repairable by A1 staff. We decided to change the whole system with this company and it has been a nightmare since. We constantly have to call them to come check their work. The unit just stopped working as if it s scheduled to do so, then they come and say I shouldn t have any issues, well I thought that was the point of changing everything. I even change the filter every 30 days. Since they came once and it was time to change it so they said it was the filter, then that the system was clogged, so I asked why didn t they change The tubing if everything was going to get changed. Then it was out of fluid. The new unit was out of fluid in less then six months. I feel like I ve been robbed! Now I m sitting here writing this waiting on this company to show up again, because again it is not working, but since I m under their warranty I will make them come out until I m not, then I will never do business again with this company.NEVER AGAIN!! Honestly, I m wondering if my last unit even had to be changed, yes it was original to the home, but how is it that one lasted so long, n this, top of the line unit can t make it six months without an issues. This is BS. NEVER AGAIN!!

They charged more than 3 times over the cost of a capacitor and were totally unwilling to adjust the bill when I called politely to ask about it. Never got to the couple shown on TV and if they exist they are not available. Would have used them more, but situation let me know I cannot trust them to do what s right for the customer.

I called A#1 and a senior tech Roy Ferrusca came out and educated me on my options. I signed up for a membership because it is extremely advantageous. While we cannot replace at this time. He helped my wife and I stay cooling by getting our refrigerant levels up to par until we can figure out a game plan. He addressed our issue with the electricity that was out in certain parts of the house quickly and it was fixed before I knew it. He recommended an additional service that we would need bit was not pushy about it at all. As soon as we can fit that service into our budget, I'll be calling A#1 back again.

It stopped working right after her left and he came back ... fixed it and left again. It stopped working! 80 and climbing in our home with a baby at home. They came out when it was 100 degrees outside and 94 degrees in our house and told us we needed a new ac unit. Then, we didn t get approved for financing. Who declines someone for AC during a Texas summer???????? (We even had to rush one of our dogs to the ER for having a heatstroke.)Then they were slow to follow up or do anything to help us once they saw we were bums. Well, All Season Services got us a new unit put in and our house couldn t be colder. Our dog is okay as well! UPDATE- our dog still continues to have seizures to this day because of our ac unit going out and this company did nothing to help us. We offered to put $500 Down and they just said can t do it. 100 degree weather, 600 credit scores, $200,000 plus income house hold, and $500 down should have been more than enough to get us financing. We even told them we d be paying it in full on the following Friday... thank you for your kindness!

The technician, David, did a good job an got our system back up and running. However, their office staff did not call to let us know they where actually coming and the tech did show up at 11:30pm. I'm happy he should up but the office needs to do a better job of letting us know when.

I am impressed with how well organized the company is. They are great with confirming appointments and trying to work around your schedule, instead of the half-day 'windows' other companies have. They also have a superior system of keeping track of each individual customer account.

All that is appreciated and important. However, the ultimate test for me is with the actual technician that enters the privacy of your home. In their hands is the fate of whether you must continue to endure sleepless sweaty nights in this Texas heat, or whether you will feel the much-anticipated relief of cold air filling your home once again. And how do you know the advice given is truly what you need if repairs are necessary?

Josh P is the rare technician that you know you can depend on and trust that whatever he recommends is truly the best for you. He really cares about his customers. You don't even feel like a customer. You feel almost like a family member or friend. He is a genuine good person who has impressed me greatly and continued to earn my respect each time he comes out. Whenever I make an appointment to schedule a tune-up or need service, I ask for Josh P, even if I have to wait longer because he's booked up or on vacation, etc, For me it's worth the wait, because it's too seldom that you can really trust a technician in any field, not just HVAC, to do the right thing by you, and give you the right advice.

I actually waited three weeks this last time, some of that time suffering in temps past 80 degrees. They offered to send someone else sooner. But once you know you can trust someone like, you prefer to stick it out because you know you won't be 'taken' or 'sold' something just for the sake of being sold something. I will be needing to have some costly repairs very soon, and it's such a comfort knowing I can depend on the recommendation I will get from Josh P.

She took the time to ask me questions about how we use our A/C and furnaces, checked out the furnaces and A/C units to determine what the proper replacement should be, checked the electrical panel. She explained what she could do for me price -wise and asked me if I had any questions. Very accommodating in getting the job scheduled. The day of install, the crews arrived on time, professional, courteous. I communicated with Omar. He explained what would happen and the time frame involved. The job was completed
on time, he explained how to program the new thermostats. They cleaned up all the debris and my attic and back yard were clean. I would highly recommend them.

I separately bid out jobs for an HVAC upgrade/replacement and electric box replacement. Tre F had been out to the house before to repair some burnt out neutrals in the box. The pricing was competitive and based on the prior work I went with someone I had seen work and been satisfied with previously.

A#1 calls you the morning of the appointment to confirm. They call you again when your tech is on the way. You'll also get an email with the name and picture of who's coming. From a safety and security standpoint I really appreciate that.

The crew shows up in a marked vehicle and in uniform. They've started to put on the booties, but I don't have carpet and the house is still an active project site. But they let me make that decision and didn't just assume.

We did a site walk and confirmed the scope of work and then everyone got to work.

The HVAC work and the box replacement were done at the same time and both crews (Tre on the electric side and Marcos M and Alan S or the HVAC install) worked well together). HVAC install was completed in 1 day. The panel job took 2 days. Power was out to the house for an hour or so when code enforcement came out to inspect.

HVAC was an attic conversion from an over the tub style system. Marcos and Alan got the compressor outside, the horizontal unit in the attic, 2 supplies, 10 registers, all new duct work and a NEST thermostat up and running by the end of the day. The also put in decking in the attic so that changing the filter wouldn't be as much of a hassle.

There were a couple of hiccups and surprises (when aren't there) on the panel job, but no upcharges. Tre was also really good about asking me what I preferred when there was flexibility.

Post work clean-up inside and outside was good.

I wish I had taken some better before pictures, but what I have right now is included below (I'll get a better set of pictures up later).

Financing through Greensky. They let me roll both projects into one for the purposes of financing. 5 months no payments, 5 years at 0% interest.

High level summary: Communication was good, techs showed up on time and worked efficiently, no upcharges or add on costs, very professional (no swearing, uniforms, company vehicles), competitive quotes for pricing. I'm a repeat customer.

Very low sales pressure but high on explaining the couple of minor issues we had so we felt Very comfortable having her address them. My air conditioning unit went out late morning (fan worked, no cool air). Through my panic (service agent would be late day arrival), my husband was able to get us moved up by several hours! Mark Derby immediately found the problem, offered to replace the part on our outdoor unit, hosed down our unit, checked the inside unit and offered help and suggestions on near future total replacement. We have always had fantastic service, prompt and reasonably priced, as we have now had a service contract for a few years. Living in Texas in the middle of summer with triple digit temperatures, there is never a convenient time for the breakdown of ones air conditioner. A#1 Air helps ease the panic, most often at their inconvenience, always with A #1 customer service and satisfaction. Thanks you A#1 Air!!!

Courtney T was very professional diagnosing our A/C unit's failure to start up. It appeared to be as simple as a loose wire, which he immediately remedied, but when measuring the differential pressure to charge up the system with coolant, discovered that it was more serious than that when it would not pressure up. Courtney was thorough in checking out the remainder of time left on the warranty, but discovered it was no longer in effect on the 9 year old unit.
The repair cost estimate wound up being being 50% that of a new heat pump/AC unit so we opted for the replacement. Courtney was totally familiar with the HVAC equipment and offered 3 options to fit our financial circumstances. He then promptly arranged for next day installation.

I called for a routine check and discovered my previous service company had lied to me and ripped me off. Cameron Hukill came and he was able to get me a premium system with a price I could afford. His installation team were very professional. The arrived on time did the work cleaned up showed me the system and how it worked and went to the next customer. No extra breaks or we don't have that part or it is going to be more money. I love these guys and how they helped us in a desperate situation.

Very disappointing, I had an appointment to get work done on my AC, I called them and they confirmed that my appointment was set, I had to take the day off from work so I can be home so they can work. Today, the day of the appointment, they called me and told me that they couldn't come to work on my AC because the Tech was booked for the day. They should have let me know before taking a day off from work for nothing. VERY DISAPPOINTING. Now I have to reschedule for another day to get the work done. After this work is done, since I already paid for it, I'm not doing business with A#1 Air, Inc. any more.

Had multiple issues with upstairs unit for over a year. Unit is still very new but continues to need repair and service. After several technicians came to repair the last one seems to be right. Seems to be working so far.

Felt like they were just out to up-sell me on ever...

Felt like they were just out to up-sell me on everything! I do not trust them and will never call again. We just had a new system installed 3 years ago for $1000's. We wanted only a yearly check and the guy comes and looks very distressed and is telling me all the things "wrong" with our unit.
Got a 2nd and 3rd opinion to confirm- nothing was wrong....only thing "wrong" with our AC- was A1 trying to sell us something we did not need.

So pleased with this company! I had been without hot water for a week due to an issue with a previous install of a new hot water heater in June that was unresolved by AHS. I decided to replace independently and called A#1 Air around 6:40pm on Friday night. It's 11:22pm Saturday and I have a new hot water heater, completely up to code! James and Bryce, along with the electrician that all came out today to make sure we had hot water, you are a blessing.
I will definitely be a return customer, again and again.

Earlier this morning, A#1 Air called to inform me that Andy was headed to our home. Andy was prompt, friendly and courteous. After asking if we had any concerns, he began his work. He identified a part that needed replacing, explained it's purpose, called to get warranty information on that specific part and asked if we wished to have it replaced. Andy represents A#1 very well and we will continue to use their services for all our HVAC needs.

Weve had a total of 3 HVAC technicians come to this house now and Louis from A#1 fixed the problem. The other two guys came from home warranty and both times they told us to fix our upstairs AC wed have to drop 10k plus on a new unit and piping. Louis found the cause of the problem and fixed it for $609.

First off the work ethic of this technician Louis is outstanding, he arrived at 5pm and did not leave until the job was done by 9pm. Not once did he show any incompetence in explaining to me what he was doing while performing his job. He was very courteous (it rained today, every time he came in he had boot covers on. No kidding, every time.), never got in the way, made sure the door was closed behind him, and truly didn't stop until the task was complete.

I'm really impressed and will be keeping my business with these guys for my HVAC needs from now on.

We have been a Silver Member for about 4 years dur...

We have been a Silver Member for about 4 years during which time we paid $20 a month and for that money we got a visit twice a year to check on our heating and A/C equipment. We had to replace a furnace about a year ago. A few weeks ago we had to have them out because one of our A/C units quit. The tech put a freon "sniffer" on the condenser coil in the attic and really couldn't find anything. Finally, he "found" the leak on the backside of the coil. The A#1 Sales Rep wanted $2,500 to replace the coil. The whole thing seemed kind of sketchy since the tech could not at first even find the leak. So we decided to get a second opinion from a neighbor's favorite A/C man. He charged the whole system and then locked off top and bottom to see which one leaked out condenser (in the attic) or the evaporator coil and compressor outside. A week later the condenser coil in the attic hadn't leaked at all. But the lower unit lost all it's gas. Conclusion, a wrong or sloppy diagnosis from A#1 would have wasted $2,500. Furthermore, the new guy will install a new unit outside which is a better brand than A#1 volunteered to install, at way less money. Conclusion: we have been getting overcharged for work and the $20 Silver Membership which gets a small discount on service is also not worth it since they apparently inflate their prices to cover the difference.

My air conditioning went out in July 2020- I called A#1 Air and they sent technician Paul out a few hours later. He was great at explaining what happened with my system and all of my options. He didn't try to hard sell me and gave me a great discount too! Victor and his installation team were on time (even in a thunderstorm!) and did a fantastic job! He identified a potential gas leak I didn't know I had and plumber Curtis came and found the problem. Curtis went above and beyond to fix the leak and also brought my water heater up to code. He too gave me a discount on his services. All together, everyone at A#1 was professional, courteous, clean and extremely considerate of my circumstances. I would highly recommend them to anyone and use them again.

We called A #1 Air because we came home from vacation and the house was 95 degrees inside. It was during a heat wave and they were slammed but they made it out by the end of the day.

It took our technician about 5 minutes to figure out that the air intake on our outdoor unit was so dirty that air wasn't coming through, so he hosed it off and our system is back to 100% right away. He was in and out so quickly that he didn't charge us the service fee but it would have been well worth the money.

I had an issue with my tech showing up and had the attitude of not wanting to do anything, to not wanting to give me the warranty, and every employee I talked to either said they would let a manager know so they can contact me with my issues and no calls till this date. I even emailed the owner Sherry a long complaint, got a call from customer service saying they would let Sherry or management know about it and see what they can do, you think i got a call or email back? NNNOOOO!!!!! I even am willing to give them another shot even though I found someone who will honor the warranty even though they didn't install my unit, but no call back or to offer at least what I paid to go somewhere else so I can use them again. This new guy I called instead of A1 moved so fast and he's got only 4 guys and 2 secretaries that he had all the warranty issues fixed and part with him within 2 hours. Installed everything that same day later on when he had time. A1 has a whole tons of people who could of got this done quick, but like I said everyone needed to notify a manager and manager was supposedly going to look into it and contact me. Its embarrassing that my new AC guys was able to do this job with no complain or excuse. And I paid him $380 when A1 I was supposed to pay $60. With the $380 it did suck to pay it but worth it cause I got everything fixed the same day. If not I would still be without AC till this day cause no one has stepped up from A1 Air to do anything or say anything. Thx A1. And I'm still debating on whether to give them a chance if another issue arises but if I have to pay someone else more so I don't have any issues, this new AC guy said he'll step up and gladly except my business. Thx again A1. Customer service is great and nice.

I had a very negative experience with A#1 Air. My HVAC system wasn't working. The price for them to come and take a look at your system is $59. Fair enough. When the person comes, he took a look, and said he'll charge $125 to fix this. I ask him what's wrong, he said he won't be able to tell me until he fixes it and charge me $125. I said "well won't you at least tell me what's wrong?". He said "no that's not how it works, you either pay and we fix it or I would have to guess what's wrong". I told him to close the panel, pay him $59 and he left. He forgot the phone on my attic, which he then came back and got it. The problem was with the fuse, which would cost you a grand price of $5 at Home Depot. I would have even paid it if he said $50. Very dishonest business. There're better ones out there.

Dane first of all waited patiently as I raced home to meet him. I met up with him and listened without interruption as I explained the events leading to the service call, which I know is hard working in the service industry. Within about 20 minutes Dane had diagnosed the issue (a bad capacitor) and had my motor running after replacing the battery that jump started the motor and the capacitor. He presented me with all the options available and after a total of 30 minutes my system was functioning normally again. I HIGHLY recommend A #1 to anyone looking for reliable service men and women and excellent customer service. (Forgot to mention: service call, confirmation, repair all taken care of in the same day)

Great service as usual. Called about 8pm after my thermostat went blank. They estimated around midnight. I got two calls before then to update me on status. Andy V. did make it out around midnight. After a couple minutes proclaimed issue was clogged drain pipe. Said common for age of my unit and was a lot of calls that day due to high humidity. He took apart p-trap in bathroom where it drained and showed me all the junk that came out. Took a few pieces from the attic as well. Went outside and cleaned it all out. About an hour later all done.

I had scheduled service to get a Sense Energy Monitor installed in my panel and Ronaldis came out this morning to install it. I had recently upgraded my air conditioner so also decided to have him install a whole house surge protector which he did. All in, about an hour of time to install it all. As usual with A#1, great service and professionalism. He even identified what a mystery switch in my kitchen was (fan). Highly recommended.

A#1 Air has always been great since they installed a new 2 zone system for us 3 years ago. Their maintenance team is also amazing. Aaron H. was our technician and he quickly diagnosed the problem, provided a temporary solution until the part could be ordered, once part arrived he returned and installed in a matter of minutes. Randy went above and beyond amazing service when our air conditioner stopped working. In this Texas heat, we were going to have to wait several days for parts to be ordered and arrive before repairs could be made. Randy was able to get approval for the entire unit to be replaced at no charge within 24 hours. The damage to our old unit was extensive and he had to work the entire day either outside in 100 degree heat or in our attic, which was hotter. Throughout the day he was kind, thoughtful, efficient, and kept us routinely informed. We continue to be loyal to A#1 Air because of its great service and wonderful staff.

They also call me early in the day of the appointment notifying me as to ETA of my technician; including an email giving name and photo id of technician. They have always been extremely professional and competent. I have my air system monitored every spring and fall to keep an eye on how my air & heat system is doing.
