Very Bad service, very poor transfer procedures. My transfer delayed for four days and still counting. Money gone from my account on 1st day of initiation but customer service adviser repeatedly tells we already processed from our end and nothing to do with us contact receivers bank. Wow this company became a joke. Never ever gonna use this company for money transfer.

TransferWise is an inexpensive online wire service, but it comes with a bag of administrative regulations that make sending money from from point A to point B unnecessary complicated. Strongly suggested to use a different wiring service even if it's a little bit more expensive. Sometimes the cheapest is not the best option. Not recommended.

The company stopped my borderless account even after giving invoice to them which I issued to my customer . I was receiving thousands of euro per week from my customer out of UK. Don't trust this company because they don't care a damn if a company work according to UK law or not .They have block my thousands of euro , They just want to prove that they are above all. There customer service is slow , They don't know what is going on in office. SCAM

Bad service. Once you transferred your money to them and your recipient doesn't receive there is no way they could help you with that. The only answer they have is we have done our part and they will send you a off document as a proof and tell you to do it by yourself. As I sent money like five days ago and still recipient hasn't receive it and no one at customer service knows about where the money is. Does anyone has any recommendation about what shall I do to get the money?

Can't withdraw funds.
A few weeks ago I received a payment via transferwise, and now I can't withdraw my own money from my account. These guys are freezing ppl's money in the middle of a world crisis.
I've seen this before. It is ridiculous, honestly. Transferwise cannot hold the funds of the cst. Perhaps they use for their goals? A scandal

Good but could be better! :) I would like your local currency next to the foreign currency on activity. To give you good idea on spending. Also total of spending in the last 30 days. Currency that are harder to get hold of that such as Brazilian reals. Prague this app was great for taking out cash. Barcelona it was hard to find cash machine that didn't charge extra 5 euros. Also alert if your account goes under set limit

In my view, the service could not be better!
Cheapest way to transfer money internationally.

The operation is super easy and everything is transparent.
Above all, the possibility of transferring the money to the target account within minutes really impressed me.
Thank you that you exist!

PAY ATTENTION
indeed, the problem is the same as all the negative opinions, blocking of my account without any given reason, money from suppliers blocked I do not know or, my company in a situation stretched on the brink of bankruptcy, inactive customer service being who are "unable to know or do something" then why are you here? they just need to ask for supporting documents and all would be settled but not
I highly recommend you if you are professional

I am mystified by the 1 star reviews. Must be secret agents for the high street banks that (for generations) have ripped off their customers and continue to do so.

Transferwise was a God send when it arrived on the scene for me personally and my businesses.
The transfer fees are low in comparison and so easy to do via the app or online.

Customer service is relaxed and always easily contactable with solutions most of the time.

I look forward to being able to opening fully functional boarder-less accounts in more currencies than they currently offer.
5 stars from me

My friend shared me this app, well, I have seen it before but I am using another one and the exchange rate is not that far so i kept on using that one. But i tried since he gave a code and have one free transfer but i didn t expect it to be in just a few minutes. Good job!

A bit cautious still for fast transfer because of money laundering and other crimes.

DO NOT USE TRANSFERWISE For any thing. They are the biggest fraud. They are aimed at closing your account when they see there is money in your account. The only reason why they will deactivate your account is when they want to take your money. The customer service is useless,..... they will not give you back your money. I am giving them minus 1000 star. It is a Useless company out to take your money. STAY AWAY, STAY VERY FAR AWAY FROM TRANSFERWISE.

Promises of contact me if their any update, what's the point of ending the email saying "if you have any question please let me know" and I got none what so ever respond from them.

Was using TransferWise for money transfer for years now without any issues , until when I decided to use it as my travel card .
TransferWise says I have a card with Multiple currencies . And when I tried to withdraw some euros from my TransferWise Euro Account in a Euro zone , they charged me with a transfer fee even more than bank rates !
When I asked about this to TransferWise, they blatantly said it can be fault of the ATM , please contact the provider of the ATM, like when you are travelling you keep track of the ATM you withdraw the money and expect them to speak the same language as yours !

MY LIFE'S BIGGEST MISTAKE TO USE TRANSFERWISE - It's take 5 minute to open and 1 minute to close and froze your all money. Now I am without my money and account also close when I needed money desperately, I can not use my own money. JUST THING SOME ONE ELSE DECIDE WHERE YOU CAN USE YOUR MONEY OR NOT... I am going to take action against this company.

Transferred thousands for rent.....5 days later....still no money and now we owe late rent fees. And now our money is gone from both of our accounts so we can't even access it so we can quickly use another service to transfer it over. Some people would call this theft. The transfer message promised it would hit my account within a certain date...never got it. When I call they are no help and just say 'wait' over and over and no one will tell me when my money will arrive.

Guys. We are talking thousands of dollars and my family getting evicted for not paying rent. Do these people care? Nope. "Sorry, just wait and be patient."

This is why I now use Starling. Never again with this company. Obviously cannot keep up with their promises and then blame the customer when they get upset about it. Avoid like the plague.

Great company... But... jeeze... customer service needs an overhaul.

So often they are rude & uncaring. Plus they'll always try and blame the customer first rather than resolve the situation.

Add live chat, hire staff who care and, let's be honest, 2 days to reply to an email is archaic... Really?

C'mon TransferWise CS department! You're letting the rest of the team down.

Decided to give TransferWise a try after recently relocating to the UK from the US - I needed to send my partner our rent money from my US Bank account to her UK account. TransferWise said the transaction would take "3-4 hours." After one day had gone by with no movement, I gave them a call to see what's up, and was told it was actually going to be 4 days until it transferred, followed by an email this morning (day 2) letting me know it will now be 6 days. The money has left my US account, so my best guess is that Western Union ponies are currently crossing the continental divide taking it from the west to east coasts? The end result is I had to call my new landlord here explaining why I had to be late with my first rent payment - thanks TransferWise!
Clearly, my experience isn't unique and I regret not reading the reviews on here before using the service. PayPal next month for sure. Maybe next year they'll bring their systems into the current century.

*Update 6/2019* Just thought I'd make a note here that Transferwise's response here is complete nonsense - I've been using PayPal ever since the debacle I wrote about above and guess what? They manage to transfer funds from the US to my UK account in less than an hour! If it's $1,000 or more the transfer is fee-free, $5 if less than that - not a bad deal at all to avoid the scam-like behavior of this company. PayPal it if you can!

I've used Transferwise now for both personal and business use and have been impressed with their efficient service. The business model makes a lot of sense particularly as foreign exchange is one area where traditional banks and most credit cards make a lot of easy money out of confused customers.

The web site is remarkably easy to use and genuinely well designed. There's some simple integration with email for notifications.

The only minor issue I have with their web site is how they allow and encourage an account to have personal and business use together. This feels like a feature that's come from a world of freelancers but it's one that would be useful to disable (in settings) for larger businesses or ones that want a cleaner segregation to avoid errors or confusion.

Transferwise falls under the authorised rather than lower tier registered regime at the FCA which is reassuring. There's a good summary of all of this on Martin Lewis's excellent MoneySavingExpert site.

If I could give a zero I would, THE WORST FINANCIAL company I have ever used! I have been using these guys for a while to run my small business in the middle of a global pandemic, we pay our staff on a regular basis as we pay per job, nothing unusual with our account both incoming or outgoing as we pay the same staff all the time and we get paid by bank transfer by our customers. Then all of a sudden our account has been deactivated! No warning, no rhyme, no reason and customer service are as useful as a chocolate tea pot! Every single person within the business says exactly the same thing as if its scripted and toeing the party line spouting the same message with no answers! I have already reported to the FCA and will be speaking to the financial ombudsman service because as of this very minute you are putting my business OUT OF BUSINESS! Quite frankly you don't care, who is going to pay my staff? Who is going to explain to the people my staff have to pay out of their wages that they can't pay their bills because they haven't been paid?? Not Transferwise that's for sure! What repercussions are there? Absolutely none and if anyone who reads this review has any sense DO NOT TOUCH TRANSFERWISE with two barge poles let alone one! Pathetic service!

Best way to pay when holidaying in rustic areas, lacking in cash point facilities. Used it to pay at various hotels/services in Philippines and Sri Lanka. Plus, called to check about sending a payment to a company I lacked trust in, and they were very honest in letting me know its best to use their services with people you trust. Should there be an issue, and money is to be returned to you, the original recipient has to agree, and inform their bank to return the money. With credit cards and bank transfers, you have more security and much higher fees.

POTENTIAL CUSTOMERS BEWARE- these people will take your money and won t return it. Nobody answers e-mails for days. put your money here at your own risk!

I had to transfer money through these people only because I had to make an international transfer through Monzo (which is REALLY losing points!). The transfer appeared executed until suddenly one day - 20 days past my transaction (which was the payment of an invoice!!!) the money was sent back to my account, NO EMAIL, no notification, no phone call, no reason.
My husband paid the second tranche of the same invoice only to find our money (a significant amount of money for a humble couple) stuck somewhere in the hands of these subjects. They asked us to send motivations for the transfer and then sent us this cryptic message saying it will be up to the transfer team to decide whether and when to make the transfer at their own discretion - ARE YOU KIDDING ME? with an invoice unpaid and us being potentially sued by our service company for not paying we have sent several requests to get our money back and NOBODY ANSWERED! If this is not scamming I don t know what is.
I ll advise as many people as possible to stay away from this brand and anything related to it.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I, Dilanth Christas , have a business account with you.
But it was deactivated without any notification as it was recently opened account for the business purpose. I would be really grateful if you can provide me with the information why it was deactivated. When I appealed, you replied that you would like to keep the account closed. Its fine but since its my daily use business money it would really helpful if you can transfer the money to the account I have provided below.

Please make the transfer as soon as possible, since I am in urgent need of money for my business.. as it's been more than a month( 31/10/2020) since you guys closed my account

This is atleast 10th email.... This is just not acceptable from any bank in this covid 19 situation... I just don't know else to say

Some British punk in his 20's called Michael is one extremely arrogant costumer support agent. I have no idea what is going on with these scammers but they just shut all of accounts after I refused to provide a screenshots of my account on other website called freelancer.com where I hire and pay freelancers. You want to see how I use another website? Dear Olly, what you ask IS ILLEGAL. Transferwise, you steal my money on those accounts - I will sue the hell out of you.

I love them unfortunately they do not accept slashes in reference numbers what makes useless for most of my transactions.
I had to decrease to 2 stars as they stopped helping me do make changes manually in reference numbers.
I can be still 5 stars - please be like normal bank

I have used the company for many years but their money laundering checks have become ridiculous and they seem to be incompetent.

I have now had requests form numerous different individuals and they keep asking for more information and the same items I have already sent.

I think they want to hold on to my money for as long as possible.

I think Kafka is working there.

Staff here are Great !
So pleased to have discovered TransferWise!
We make frequent , though relatively small fx European transfers and this service has proved both efficient and cost effective , saving us time and money.
Also like the App and it s transparency ... allowing rapid reconciliations in our own office accounts due to information being readily to hand.
The decision to use TransferWise was one that is helping to positively transform our company , making fx a pleasure rather than a stress !

Have used their service for a long time without any problems as they offer one of the best rates. However recently i've had a very disappointing experience which totally changed my mind about this company and I will think twice before I'll use their services again.
I think it's obvious that customers choose companies like Transferwise for one reason - to save money. And that's where speed and the EXCHANGE RATE counts. So, recently, when I noticed that the GBP-EUR rate was suddenly very favourable i made 3 transfer requests one after another for relatively small sums of money instead of making them one by one as I usually have done in the past (and for sums 10 times and more bigger than these!!!). My money was taken from my account as usual and then i suddenly received an email from "customer service" requiring a bunch of information about my employer, my salary, requesting to upload my payslips etc.
First of all, I believe these requests were totally out of proportion.
Secondly, when I said I was not able to provide the payslips (as I get them electronically) and asked if there was an alternative to this request, I didn't receive any answer even after reminding,
Thirdly, is as I was paying utility bills, because of their freeze I missed the deadline and now will have to pay interest for delay.
And finally, as now they had to cancel those payments and use another service provider - I lost a considerable amount of money because the exchange rate is much worse than 5 days ago when i wanted to transfer my money and no one is going to compensate me that.
I expect the company to comment that they are requested by regulators to require this info etc blah blah blah, but sorry - these requirements need to be 1) within reason 2) AT THE RIGHT TIME - before they accept my transaction or after the current transaction is executed, but not in the middle of a transaction (at least unless it's a really big some of money, which was definitely not my case).
VERY DiSAPPOINTED and vasted way too much of my time on all this

The customer service is pretty good, but who cares about customer service when the product is terrible. Transferwise ask for far too much verification, to the point of being mind numbing. To the CEO and management: look at your Google reviews, and learn what NOT to do from your customers!

He can not answer a simple and specific question. Block your account by referring to self-written rules and regulations. Currently, I am waiting for a refund of $ which is very difficult to obtain. Support in Polish is probably 2 Polish women and poorly with the frequency of response. They think that they are above the law and the user has no rights. Finally, they blocked my accounts, kept cash, and scans of my verification documents.

One of the best and most reliable transfer service I have used. I've previously used western union, remitly, Remit2india but transferwise gives you a better rate anyday than any other transfer service that exist. Compare you'll know. Once you are a member your transfers are done with an hour or sometime even less time. Great

This outfit is a sham, took a week after having my money to tell me they do not send to my bank in Panama, then they said they sent money when they did not. Now I am being charged $26 to transfer my money back from dollars into pounds just so I can get my money back, keep well away from this outfit. Banks like this saying they have sent money when they have not should be taken to the Public Ombudsman. Stay clear if you want to loose $26 for no service, I prey I get the bulk of my money back.

TransferWise deactivated my account as the buyer of my vehicle had transferred their money into my TransferWise account, I was currently travelling through Europe at the time hence why I gave them my TransferWise account, when I emailed TransferWise at appeals, they sent me an email explaining that it could be due to multiple accounts and duplicate accounts and many other reasons as to why my account was closed, then confirmed that the funds had been sent back to sender so now on my return to the UK I will have no vehicle and no money from vehicle I sold. TransferWise is more hassle than it s worth and I am sorry I didn t take time out to read reviews first.

Very bad. They have cheated me. I signed up with a TransferWise account to send money from Spain to a foreign country and I already made a transfer in euros. Within 2 days, TransferWise cancels my account and after sending several e-mails to inform me of the reason for the cancellation of my account, TransferWise says that it does NOT know the reason why my account has been canceled and if I want to reactivate my account. account I have to send much more personal information than they requested on their website to register in the account (personal photo, scan of my document, my relationship with the beneficiary, in which the beneficiary will spend the money, etc) . I just hope they give me my money back. Bad, very bad, I feel totally cheated.
