As always, James river was on time, friendly and professional, and got my job done quickly.

What started out as a negative experience turned into a wonderful one thanks to technician Mark Corey and general manager Billy Amacker. After the problem with my ac was misdiagnosed and I thought I was then being overcharged to fix the original problem, in spite of the fact I had paid for the first visit, I talked to Billy and he immediately rescinded the first charge.
Mark was amazing. With good humor and tact, he explained in detail what the charges were for and quickly fixed the unit. I ve never felt so good about paying for a service!

Got new unit this morning. The guys were right on time, and they worked hard - everything was completed faster than I thought. We are very pleased!

The tech. arrived on time. I had a very good experience. Very nice young man.

Mike Jones was on time and very thorough and polite. He checked out all and gave me feedback. He also addresses any questions or concerns I had with great consideration. Very nice person to talk to. Highly recommended.

James River has been outstanding to deal with. They assisted us through an emergency situation in the middle of the blazing hot summer. Even after comparison shopping with other vendors, others may have been cheaper but James Rivers product and service commitment was far superior to what we were offered by any other vendor. That was over a year ago and since that time they ve been out twice for regular maintenance, their service technicians are always Very polite and professional, most recently Adrian came to our home and was a pleasure to deal with!

Quote was lower than Micheal and Son. Day of install found out more work needed to be done than originally quoted, worked with us to help get all of the repairs complete. Would recommend for any HVAC and Electrical work.

I received great service from Mark at James River air when my air conditioner's fan motor needed to be replaced. He was fast, polite, and professional. When it turned out we had to wait for a part to be delivered from the vendor's warehouse, he arranged for us to have a window unit temporarily, which really helped.

We had a leak that required the services of both a plumber and carpenter from James River. Both were extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. We had just adopted a rescue dog and both men went out of their way to acknowledge her and help us socialize her to strangers/workmen. We were very happy with the work performed, and they cleaned up so thoroughly too!

We appreciate the great service Ralph provided. He called right away that he was on his way and when he arrived he was very polite and respectful. He checked the system and figured out the problem quickly.

Well, all I got to say is that I specifically request Kyle for every call that I place with James River. He is competent, efficient, friendly, neat and always solves whatever problem we might be having at the time. In my opinion, he is the absolute best at repairing any type of heating/AC, large appliance like a washer or refrigerator. James River is very lucky to have someone as good as Kyle. Our technician Donald Corey was outstanding. Friendly and knowledgeable..and delivered the "bad" news about my unit in professional and courteous way .

I called James River to report an unusual noise coming from the outside unit. The call was made on the Saturday before Mother's Day. James River sent someone on Mother's Day. Joseph evaluatedthe problem. Ordered the part and the unit will be fixed today, Monday. That is great service.

James River saved the day! My AC went out on the hottest day of the year. They were here 18 hours after I called and had it fixed in an hour for a reasonable price. The technician offered me a maintenance plan and let us know what pieces looked like they were next to go, but he didn't push us once we said no for now. We'll definitely be calling James River when we're ready to replace the system!

The technician (Mike J) called to confirm when he would arrive; he arrived timely and immediately went to work and located the problem. He explained the issue and fixed it in a timely matter. He was extremely professional and courteous so I decided to get a service agreement with the company. Note: The company installed this furnace over 25 years ago and this is the first time I have had to call them regarding the furnace! Hugh Joyce was the sales person that sold me this system!

Getting an appointment is easy, although it always seems to be very far out (I.e., months).
Service techs are always courteous and take time to explain the system and what they are doing. I have enjoyed it best when I have a familiar tech, because we are building a relationship with each other and they with my HVAC system.
Judy is especially professional and on task, while remaining very courteous and pleasant. She knows her stuff, gets right to work and makes things happen. I know we are in good hands when she appears at the door.

I had a very good experience with Paul Hawthorne, plumber. He was able to get to my house earlier than scheduled and worked diligently until he was able to identify and rectify the problem.
He has always been friendly and courteous. In fact whenever I have a plumbing issue, I request Paul.

My heat pump upgrade was made on a day with torrential downpours, but the installers (Eric K. & Jake R.) did an outstanding job! Another big plus with this company; two more installers (Gene C. & Matt F.) finished the job they were on and came over to see if they could help out! I really liked how these separate crews hooked up to help each other out!

James River did an awesome job fixing my GE refrigerator that had freezer issues. They are professional, courteous, and customer service oriented. Great job!

It was a very positive experience. The technician was professional and on time. We had issues at our home with both the dishwasher and the refrigerator. The dishwasher was a relatively quick repair but the refrigerator required more technical work. The technician explained each step of the repairs so that my wife and I knew exactly what was going on. We declined to go forward with the expensive repairs for the refrigerator after the technician explained the costs. We will use James River Air again for any appliance repairs and we recommend this company.

Called just after 9 AM with an inoperative upstairs system, technician showed up same day despite our being advised that it could take up to 48 hours due to high demand on a 90+ degree day. Appreciated the quick service and repair to get us cool again by nightfall. Diagnosed a larger pre-existing problem with the unit and gave us several options for repair or replacement, which we are considering. Explained the nature of the problem and the costs/benefits of repair vs. replacement well and without pressure.

It's very hard to work around both our work schedules and James River goes the extra mile to help us. Was assured the tech would arrive between 730 and 830 AM and promptly at 730, he was there ready to go. He took his time and even though this was "free" check as part of the service contract and worked as though he was getting paid for this service. Found a part in one of the systems that still had life but was not within JR standards, went back to shop, got part and replaced. Every time he went into house, he put on fresh shoe covers. Was professional and polite. This is why I use JR

Thank you to Tom Pugh and Chris Lewis. What started as a leak turned into a 2 day ordeal, but all ended well. I called JR H&A to come look at a leak under my hot water heater. Turns out the unit was over 20 years old and needed to be replaced. Daniel was at the house for several hours installing the new water heater. The room is very small and hard to work around. Once the unit was installed and turned on, my gas boiler (right up against the water heater) started spitting out water. Daniel was not a HVAC person and it was around 9:15 so too late for someone to come by that night. So he had to turn off the water the boiler, and we had no heat for the night. Luckily it was mild so my 85+ year old mother in law did not freeze. The next morning Tom and Chris showed up to check out the leak to the boiler. The relief valve popped and caused the leak. Tom saw a few concerns with the HW heater and thought it needed to be redone to pass inspection. So Tom and Chris spent the next several hours correcting everything and replacing a couple parts on the gas boiler that was causing the problem. They went above and beyond to make things right, and in the end did not charge me more than what I paid to have the water heater installed. Just wanted to recognize Tom and Chris for a job well done and cutting me and my family a break. Thanks again Jame River Heating and Air.

Recently received an estimate for replacing a shower diverter valve for our tub after receiving very good service on our AC unit outside and giving a good review. After talking with several other people that have experience using James River AC, I have decided to part ways. Moving into retirement age I was thinking it would be nice to let go of some of the stress involved by trying to do most things myself by finding a local company to take care of both my ac and plumbing needs. However $475 for a simple shower diverter valve replacement requiring 2 technicians is over the top. Most diverter valves are less than $50 and soldering a connector on or replacing 4 inches of 1/2 copper pipe is not rocket science. Beware when technicians are working on a commission basis. I wish I knew someone to recommend but if you do please send inf to gooddeal1954 gmail. Thanks john
**Plumbers and electricians maybe an exception to the commission rule at James River AC plus I have already called and discussed the issue and was told $475 was the discounted rate >>Really!*** Just for information purposes, I was a maintenance director for 17 years so I am very familiar with this simple plumbing issue just did not want to do it myself any longer.*** Called as requested below at 1:30 pm right after receiving email from manager and left message to call me now 5:30 pm and no call back apparently not important enough
