Are here for 2 days. Self parking is not available because there is a construction site in front of the hotel. Some of the car park employees are not very friendly. There is a lot to improve. The construction site exists, the guests but not previously communicated. Our room on the land side shows right there. Luckily on the top floor, otherwise it would be even louder.
The beach is very nice. However, someone could remove the branches and palm remnants in the morning. That would make the beach even more beautiful. The beach chairs and umbrellas on the beach cost another $ 15 per piece extra. Is overpriced!
Good is the free (not to believe) shuttle to Lahaina. That works really well.
Room itself is ok. Bathroom has only a sliding door. You have to like it, because the outside hears everything that happens on the toilet.
It's ok here. But for the price I've had much better hotels.
Aloha

Great hotel! We stayed in the beach tower. The only issues we had were:

- No hot water (it was barely warm) in the shower

- The adult pools were only 4 feet deep :(

- We could smell smoke in our room (even though the hotel was supposed to be non smoking)

Check in is a bit late, but they thankfully got us in by 230 after we had stalled all day. The resort itself is super nice and the staff was very pleasant. The room wasn't stocked with towels or toiletries well though. Overall a good experience however and we would return

I completely messed up and booked the wrong dates for our stay during our honeymoon. I called today and spoke with Isabell in the reservations department and she was SO kind, helpful, and understanding. She helped me add on an additional night to our reservation and found us the best possible solution (and price) for my mistake. Isabell - I can t thank you enough. The service here is impeccable.

We booked through a travel website for this property. We had a minor issue with the last shuttle of the night being almost 20 minutes late to pick up our party in Lahaina and while multiple members of the party called to find out what was happening several of us were informed by security that the shuttle must be done operating for the night and we were out of luck. At almost 11pm we were basically being told we were stranded. Thankfully we were still at the pickup spot trying to figure out what to do next when the shuttle finally showed and we made it back to the resort safely. After we left the resort, next day we received $120 charge from the resort. When I called to find out what it was for because I had a receipt in hand that said we owed $0 upon checkout we find out that is was for parking charges. Our reservation email said nothing about parking charges. Our receipt said nothing about parking charges. I asked the manager Christina why we weren't contacted about the nature of these charges and she informed me that because they did not have any contact info for me or my husband they wouldn't have been able to reach out to us. The above statement being an outright lie because my husband gave his phone number upon check in and received several text messages throughout our stay at the resort asking about the quality of our trip. So while the resort itself was lovely the customer service and lack of communication amongst the staff is the worst I have ever encountered.

Disorganized and disappointing customer service screwing up our two family reservations and not fixing it. Way over-priced even for Hawaii. Meals way over-priced not worth it. Howerver, they offered many gluten-free meal options. Also the beach was clean and nice to swim in. We would not stay here again. Not worth it.

Good hotel. I recommend the body scrub and wrap. Great services. They couldn't get my wife and I in a room with a king bed for our honeymoon. Double beds are not nearly as romantic. That was a bummer.

We have been to the resort in the past and it was amazing. This time 3/4 of pool and lobby area are torn up and under construction. No hot tubs, barely any pool space. No lobby. Jack hammering. Construction equipment beeping and moving from 8am. To 5 pm

Great location on a good beach... many excursions available. However, the beach right outside the hotel has a steep shoreline and NO shade. So with young children we often drove north to Napili bay and DT Fleming Park (our 2 favorite Maui beaches for small children plus great snorkeling there!)

We stayed at the The Westin Maui Resort & Spa in Kaanapali next to Whalers Village Dec 5-9th. We were aware of the construction going on and even though there was lots of areas disturbed during the process, it was minimally annoying. We communicated prior with the hotel and received amazing customer service from the staff to make our stay the best it could be under the circumstances! When all is well, its easy impress me with good customer service. but when the staff is under the pressure of frustrated guests, lots of Construction and noise and frustration its even more impressive to see the great service provided under tough times! The staff at Westin from the Concierge (Guy Becker) to the Guest Experience Coordinator (Jas Jernaill) to every single employee we encountered, all helped to make our experience one that we will always remember! Looking forward to coming back next year and seeing all the new amenities and enjoying the The Westin again! The New Lobby was amazing. And the Location is #1 on Kaanapali Beach!

Somewhat dysfunctional. Trying to take one elevator rather than the busiest one got me lost with luggage going everywhere but to the main desk. Walls are thin. Everybody walking down the hall were so loud that I could hear them when I was out on the lanai. The carpets need cleaning or replacing. Great staff. Conseirge....not so much. Great location to the mall and beach.

I went on a trip to Maui a few years ago with my family and we booked a room there. When we showed up they had upgraded us to the presidential suite. They knew it was our first time coming there and spoiled us. We appreciated the kind gesture and enjoyed our stay. The pools were amazing as was the beach. I loved the cabanas and the waterfall at the front of the lobby .

Just stayed my third and last time(April 5th-7th,2015) at the Westin Maui. Do not stay here during peak season. You get no service and stand in line for everything. When I complained all I got was that they are under staffed. I stood in line for beach towels, to rent beach cabanas, to be seated for breakfast, to turn in beach towels and don't even ask me about the line at Starbucks and the parking.
Another problem is that exclusive hotels have started buying these pillow top mattresses. All this is is a regular mattress with a thick layer of foam sewn in the top. This is terribly uncomfortable for my wife and I because of heat buildup from the foam. This problem is well documented online but they bought these mattresses anyway.
Also visitors to Hawaii need to know that a certain segment of native Hawaiians have a negative attitude toward mainland tourists. They like the tourist dollars but not the tourist.

First night on our honeymoon, gives us mountain view right front of the construction site at their back. woken up at 9am to drilling noises that cover their ENTIRE property. I m getting headaches and nausea after my breakfast from the noises. DO NOT come to this hotel in 2018 and early 2019.

The facilities of this Westin are very nice and the pools are great. It's a very expensive place, though, with the resort charges and everything priced quite high ($5 for a Coke at the casual burger joint etc). They also calculate "suggested" tips based on with-tax instead of pre-tax amounts and "suggest" up to 22% so that really can add to your bill if you just go along with it. Also, if you pay up for a room with a view, don't expect the view to be too amazing - there are a lot of rooms that are too low to see much or have a view that's more hotel roof than ocean. So, go and enjoy - but know that there are also big flaws, too.

Hotel was clean, a little dated, but amenities were nice and pool area was nice and not highly policed at night for later swims. Biggest drawback was not having self parking (In progress) and one of the main elevators was being renovated for duration of stay. Overall, great location and experience!

This hotel was kept open during construction. No discounts on rooms. It was a horrible experience with hammering and the drilling going on from early morning to late evening.
The spa was a terrible experience with excessive chemicals in the water and allergic reactions to many people on their skins. It is a chemical soup, most unhealthy.

Villas are nice, mine had a kitchen. Pools are nicely decorated and restaurants are extremely close, and the ocean is close as well. My only complaint is that the TVs have no channel to watch the world cup.

I have lived on Maui 25 years and my business works with all the hotels. So busy I rarely have time to leave a review but after yesterdays phenomenal service with Front Desk manager Ryan Fish it is a priority to share how incredible this resort is. We had a package ordered and shipped to a guest staying at the resort to be delivered and who ended up checking out early. Ryan Fish went out of his way to locate the package in receiving, find a driver who would take it to the new hotel, called the Bellman and hotel the guest transferred it to to alert the box was coming, then emailed and called me informing me every step of the way. I am beyond impressed, blown away and so grateful to Mr. Fish and the management at the Westin Ka'anapali Resort. In addition to gorgeous views, rooms, ambiance, incredible restaurants, the service was the bar I hope to achieve setting a standard for my own company to follow. Warmest Aloha to an incredible staff. Mahalo Mr. Ryan Fish.

This place is under staffed, if you book through expidia expect to pay hidden fees. Valet parking is mandatory and cost $30 a day. Staff is burt out and with little motivation. Rooms are just ok so don't expect any luxuries. When we got there the first day registration took 1 hour, there was a wait on the elevator becoues one was broken and a staff member woke me up at 4 am saying I had ordered towels.

As an owner, I am embarrassed to tell people that I paid over $50K for this poorly maintained resort. My room has stains and tears everywhere. And worst of all...Giant dead roaches in the middle of the kitchen.

We are staying at the Westin on our honeymoon. It is a beautiful, clean resort with a friendly staff. My only complaint is the parking lot has very small spaces and it fills up quickly. You can use valet parking for free when it's full, but I personally wish they would just expand the guest parking lot.

Beautiful view, is friendly, and easy access to the pools, spas and beach. The hotel staff are friendly and helpful on where to eat and places to see. The rooms are clean and nice, definitely 5stars. The ability to get to the rooms is very winding and long routed. The hotels ( which there are 3) is located off of route 30 on the shore side. It is about 45 minutes from the airport. The beaches are calm in the summer with easy snorkel access and rentals at the hotel. Their is a spa service, multiple dinning options with a famous Italian restaurant located in the hotel.

Room is too small for the price. Definitely not worth it. Old, parking space is too small, my Nissan small suv can't fit in most of the spaces, and nit enough parking. $30 resort fee daily

Loved the view from the balcony. Overall very nice week spent here. The room had an ocean view and there was definitely lots of whale activity that could be seen with binoculars. The staff was friendly and we even got a nice rainbow on our last day. Highlight of the trip was seeing I'iwi honeycreeper on the mountain National Park -- even saw it on the road near the NP, on a day the park itself was closed due to snow -- tremendous luck! One tip, if the sliding door here is open the AC climate control automatically shuts off, but no one told us that when we checked in, so for the 1st day we just thought it didn't work - lol!!

I actually have not even stayed here. My review is based on the rude woman who just answered the phone. I called to inquire about the construction that will be taking place in March. We were going to book for a week for our honeymoon and wanted to make sure that the construction wouldn't affect the pool/restaurants/main areas people enjoy at the resort. The lady told me continuously "They have not given us any information." I asked her several times -- ok so you have no idea where the renovations are taking place? Not even a clue? Will it affect the usage of the pool. "Not sure". So monotone. So rude. Will never stay here.

My former office on The Beach, That has a special place in my heart...... THE BEST job of my life.... Tiger Shark dive on 4/18th 2016.... Felt like chief Brody from Jaws when he is chumming the water with a cigarette in his mouth. Need I say more..... Thx God Bless....

Very disappointed in this resort. Booked this for my wife and I's honeymoon and the resort was nothing like the photos because so much of it is closed off going under renovations and construction. I understand the importance of updates to the property but would've at least appreciated a phone call or email informing me about all the renovations going on so I can at least have an opportunity to either push my vacation back to enjoy the whole resort peacefully with no construction closing areas off or book at a different property. I will not book at a Westin property for any vacation again after this experience. We still have 3 more days that we have to stay here. Disappointed.

By far the best pool area in Maui. The beds are very comfortable, friendly staff, lots of daily activities, right next to Whalers Village, and a free shuttle downtown. I would say it's like being on a cruise ship that doesn't move. Love it!

Great
