Westin Maui Resort / Starwood Reviews

We booked this vacation months ago and upon arrival found out that almost the entire property is under construction, and basically all but one pool are closed. We paid more money for a resort with awesome grounds and got here to noisy construction and basically no useable resort grounds. We weren t given any notice of this and after just checking I do not see mention of it anywhere on their website. Very disappointed and expected better from a Westin.

Great place, good location and service. Self parking lot was under construction so only valet parking at a $30/day cost.

Loved the ambiance, pools, and toddler accomodations. Even though they are going through some updates, the hotel doesn't lose its pizaz

We had some initial issues but Jeff the manager went above and beyond to make things right. We had a great experience and look forward to returning.

The staff is absolutely amazing. Every person had a smile and was willing to assist. The grounds are gorgeous and the views are breathtaking. For our first trip to Maui, I'm so glad we stayed here.

Excellent service and an amazing resort. The food in their restaurants is OK and definitely not worth the price but the resort location and the beach behind it is beautiful.

Excellent place the whole area of resorts is communicated and have a shopping center and several restaurants .... in the hotel the rooms are luxurious ... the food is very good and the service excellent ... the facilities in general are to enjoy ... the spectacular pool or pools

Very beautiful location and an exquisite property. The breakfast buffet was a highlight. The room was nice but our view of the mountains was blocked by a tree.

The pools and rooms are Fancy. Thet gave us a $5 coupon for drinks for not getting our room cleaned every day Beach Walk and access was awesome, not far from black rock. The snorkeling gear to rent on the resort is low quality and you might be better off renting better gear from snorkeling Bob's or boss frogs. The breakfast buffet was awesome. Luau was overpriced for what you get, hard to hear the presenter due to the acoustics. There was a wedding that looked super fun, I think this would be a nice place to get married and have a reception.

The hotel is rad! Good location. Next to a lot of shops and good eats. Staff is helpful and friendly! Highly recommend. I've stayed at other hotels on this beach and the Westin is the best!

Beautiful place, low quality food and drinks, adult pool is too shallow, water falls and water features we're beautiful. The parrots should be fed healthy pellets, veggies and fruit, not sunflower seeds they also need toys in their cage.

Rooms were nice and roomy. Grills outside for you're convenience that actually work, big pool and slide. Restaurant onsite not bad but extremely expensive for what you get. Resort pricing

First time in Maui the hotel was beautiful and stuff was great always have smiles in there face. Great breakfast buffet our waiter Rey/ray and Ely were amazing. Room was big and clean and amazing views. Only downfall I had was the BED. The bed was horrible I couldn t sleep because it was uncomfortable. I woke up having pain on my back and neck.

Waste of money. Staff was accommodating but payed 4- star prices for a 2 star experience. Construction has caused over half of the communal areas to close, leaving a makeshift hallway which leads to one small, overcrowded, cloudy pool. Construction noises make it difficult to relax- can even be heard from the beach (a passerby actually looked at the hotel and said, I d want my money back if I was staying there! ). I understand the need for upkeep and renovations, but the hotel should ve given some type of discount or at the very least a warning. We have saved for years to come here and this is what we get? Very dissatisfied and disappointed.

We loved it here! Our whole experience was awesome! Everyone was friendly and helpful.The rooms were clean. Although, we didn't face the ocean. The mountain views from the lanai was spectacular!

We stayed for a friend's wedding, the amenities are amazing and the staff is very helpful. Also, the water pressure at the sink and shower is perfect, and our room had a mini fridge and safe. We would stay here again.

Staying here for the first time. Picturesque and perfectly situated. The grounds flow in a way that is a compliment to the landscape architects and groundskeepers. It got some bad reviews when it went under extreme renovation to gut renovatiom of the middle of the property, but that is done now and it is amazing. Don't be dissuaded by reviews complaining about construction.

For the price and class of the Westin, this is by far my favorite location to be at in Maui especially with kids. It's convenient and the beach is by far the best around the island. You can see turtles by the beach by the Black Rock every day!!! What other locations can you see turtles on a daily basis? Love this hotel and location.

A wonderful resort, the staff was great and the grounds are beautiful. They are doing light renovations but overall it looks like the nicest hotel on this side of the island.

Killer environment, yet my room was a little dated. I'm grateful that they put me in a great location, but I used 120,000 of my SPG points ... and I was wondering the whole time, could I have been in a better room? Maybe I'm weird (YES!) for thinking about it too much, but I've been in a lot of great hotels and I worked at a hotel myself so I know that they have to make decisions about who you are and where they put you. 4 stars, good experience but not EPIC (they need to up-date the rooms).

Check in was super easy and quick! Had the best service while getting to my room. Then went down to relish for dinner. At first it was great then my waitress was rude and took forever to bring Us our drinks

Always clean, fun pool area, great location to beach, fun for families!!

Great location. Good hotel. Awesome valet service. But small rooms. Bath room door had problem. My 6 year old got stuck and was unable to get out. Maintenance took 20 mins to come open the door after repeated reminders.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Stay somewhere else and save yourself the trouble!

Very questionable billing practices. They charged us multiple times after we left. We spoke with them multiple times to clear it out, and they said they don't know what the charges are for, and still didn't refund them.

Not worth it to spoil your Hawaii vacation by dealing with their fraudulent accounting!

There is nothing exceptional about this particular resort that makes it worth their rate. The rooms look nice but the remodel is all form over function. The room is small, bathroom area is cramped and, I am not exaggerating, has the ABSOLUTE worst hotel light I have ever experienced. If you like to know what you look like before leaving the room... look elsewhere!

Restaurant options are bordering on pathetic. Pool is overcrowded and overrun by kids... Adult pool looks like a place to go and die... If you are looking to overpay on Maui... there are much better options... like the Hyatt Regency or the Ritz. I can't see any reason to stay here.

Didn't stay here - stayed at the westin Kaanapali. We did go to the laua here & it was exceptional. I'm a very picky eater & the food was delicious. Would go again when we go back to Lahaina

Stayed here for our honeymoon, absolutely exceeded expectations. The staff was unbelievable kind (even gave us a bottle of champagne when we arrived). There was construction going on but you couldn t hear it at all outside at the other pools with the sound of the ocean and other waterfalls, don t let that discourage you from going (we actually enjoyed watching their progress throughout the week lol). Pools and beach were spotless as well. Only thing we didn t love was the food, it was delicious but not much variety and a little pricey as expected - definitely check out front street for other food options!

Nice place to stay. Everything went as planned. Just don't eat the breakfast buffet, order a la carte.

Resorts main lobby and 3/4 of the pool are under construction. Website never mentioned anything about it. You get to listen to jack hammering and machines all day!! Not a vacation spot at all. Find somewhere else! Expected more from a Westin. Oh and everything still cost the same on top of all the renovations going on.

This is one of the best resorts I've stayed at. The pools are amazing and the slide is very fun. The rooms are a little small and the resort food prices are expensive. I do recommend this though.

Calm, beautiful, serene and fun! Has adult only pool and kiddie pool, parrots, koi pond, waterfalls, and nice staff.

This place is paradise! Watch out for the last turn on the water slide!

The hotel room is small.
Parking spaces are very limited.
Kaanapali beach is not as good as beaches in Wailea.
Hotel charges resort fee but provides nothing but towels, all the poolside services is not free.
Staff was not able to find my battery chargers, when i reached to lost and found department.

As recommended by Zane Lamprey of drinking made easy!
