The Hawaiian themed atmosphere is authentic & fantastic. The luau, magic show & the Sunday brunch were outstanding. Had an amazing time staying here for our 20th anniversary. 15 years later we are celebrating our 35th & the hotel is just as wonderful & amazing.

Beautiful hotel, some wings are older then others but all are well maintained. Beautiful grounds and steps away from the beach. Short walk to go shopping but still feels like a beach resort. No spa if you like that. Also lots of kids and families if you are looking for that.

Well, it is on the most beautiful and peaceful beach on Maui. Sorry, but I lost my photos on a phone reboot. Gonna have to go back soon. The hotel has nice, modern rooms. Hawaiian entertainment with dinner outdoors on the veranda. There is a great tiki bar, too. The hotel is right where you want to be. A lot of great restaurants and other resorts on the beach make this a hopping area.

The location and the grounds are great. It's older and could use some updating but good enough for me. They charge $1.50 a night to use the safe in room which is odd and irritating. Our package included breakfast buffet vouchers for our entire stay. The food is decent. My biggest complaint would be the birds at the buffet. For gods sake! They are everywhere and aggressive. Watch your plates or they will be on it before you can blink an eye. They land on the pans holding the spoons and tongs for the buffet. They are on the tables and on my last day there, I saw 2 sparrows inside one of the clear domes meant to protect the food and scurried across the food and out the other side! Gross! I don't mind a few birds but that was ridiculous. I did enjoy my stay there but please do something about the birds. Very unsanitary.

My wife and I had a fantastic experience at the Ka anapali Beach Hotel for our honeymoon. It is a hotel truly focused on Hawaiian culture. It is right on the beach, a short walk from the The Black Rock (popular snorkel and cliff diving spot) and Whaler s Village (mall), and the grounds are beautiful. It is close to a lot of good restaurants and the courtyard area around the pool is a beautiful area with plenty of lawn chairs to relax in the sun or shade. It has a bar and a grill active during the day for food and drink and then the onsite restaurant Tiki Terrance is a high-end spot for dinner. I am giving this hotel 5 stars because the service was great, the location is awesome and of any hotel on Ka anapali Beach, this one had the most Hawaiian touch.

Paradise

Paradise

Pool has shallow end, otherwise childrens entertainment is intellectual and family oriented (parent participation). No childrens structures which I really appreciated! Not a commercial hotel. KBH puts you in touch with things to do but isnt trying to sell you something. Tiki Terrace menu is affordable and amazingly delicious! The tiki bar is fun. Bar food availble at the hut is inexpensive but still bar food. Vendors of locally made goods - some quite high quality! - come to the lobby in the mornings. I got a great natural fiber beach purse that I love!

The grounds are peaceful. So many other places were bustling public areas that it was nice to come Home to the KBH to relax at the end of each adventure out.

Access to transport was a 5 minute walk or call Uber to the front of the outdoor lobby. Easy to use app for Maui bus line made transportation a no brainer. $4 day pass per person makes the whole island accessable.

I am an experienced traveler of the West Coast and Midwest and this is my 3rd trip to Hawaii. I will miss the Kaanapali Beach Hotel very much. Yes, the Aloha spirit lives on and continues to surpass all expectations. The OHana is wonderful, the location and property beautiful. Views from my 6th floor lani day & night were gorgeous. I hope to carry their Aloha with me always.

The Kaanapali OHana continues to serve and charm as nowhere else. Naty will be my inspiration for hard work with a smile and kind heart. Everyone was wonderful and take the time to chat. I will miss them all.

So much to see and do with instructors for culture and language classes, water sports and more. Pool and beach so fun. Relaxing on your lani or park like grounds with herbs and many other flora to enjoy. So many great food options too. Loved the grilled prawns with rice and veggies!

I will return, Mahalo, Aloha! Bonnie 3/20/18.

Adorable, Hawaiian-run hotel room of locals, of Polynesian descent. Socialize with flora and fauna courses, lei (flower necklace), learn to play Okelele, and learn some Hawaiian language. Hula is also taught technically and understandably.

We enjoyed our stay over the x-mas and new years holiday. The hotel is nothing special when compared to the others around it, but the price/location was the exception that made the over all experience a 4 of 5 star stay. One thing that would really improve the whole package is a new, larger pool and less of the garden environment in the central area.

Went for Christmas buffet. Not great for GF and DF diners as they had sauces on most entrees. They were willing to bring us turkey with no gravy on it and grilled vegetables. The carving station was very good. The rest of our party enjoyed the large desert bar.

Very friendly maintenance and house keeping. Beautiful views all around. Asked if things could be made right when I found mouse droppings on the shelf in the closet and was told no. My girlfriend also has a personal item of hers from her Great Grandma disappear.

We stayed here for our honeymoon (still here actually) and it s an awesome place. Extremely friendly staff, not too crowded, right on the beach, 3 minute walk to a little snorkeling spot, 5 minute walk to a shopping center, so many restaurants in walking distance, and a cute little tiki bar. The best thing is that during hurricane Lane they hosted a complimentary dinner to guests. The buffet was great with lots of options. They could have charged us but didn t and I believe that shows their wonderful character and values.

I had honestly put a bad review before, but the day after my arrival I had received a phone call from one of the staff and was WONDERFUL! She had listened to what had happened and fixed the situation from worst to best situation. She was professional and helped ease my frustration. Thank you, I would recommend this place and come here again for the staff that had helped me.

I stayed here on a family trip that my parents booked through Costco in 2019. The workers were great and very nice, but our first room was extremely outdated and covering in what they called Sugar ants. We were the moved to another room which was even more outdated. We had only eaten breakfast here twice and it wasn t the best. The pool was tiny which I don t recommend for families with children. Although the beach was wonderful it s not ideal to have to pay for chairs and umbrellas. Our friends from home we re staying at a hotel a few down and let s just say you get what you pay for. The location is great walking distance to many things but the actual grounds are not good and I DONT recommend. A trip to Hawaii is one you will remeber for a long time and I highly suggest paying more for a nicer hotel where it s more updated and has better amenities.

Beautiful grounds with plenty of options for family with kids to do. The room's need a little update....they seem to be stuck in the 80's. Food is good and the entertainment is a nice touch. 4 stars.

When we arrived on Friday, we were booked in the older Molokai wing. I won t lie - the property is old, the decor is dated, it could use some updating. We were a bit disappointed. HOWEVER, we were able to upgrade into the Kaua i wing with the help of Jovina at the front desk, who has been absolutely amazing. We ve also loved the service from Sue at the bar, and our many servers. Honestly, the staff here is the best part.
The grounds are beautiful, and there is entertainment every night. We especially loved Friday night! Traditional Hawaiian, Samoan, Polynesian, etc. dancing like you d see at any luau - but this was free with our hotel stay. The performers were multigenerational and excellent - especially the little ones!

My husband and I celebrated our Anniversary here and it was so wonderful! We booked through Costco Travel for a partial ocean view room with breakfast buffet included. For anyone booking through Costco, I highly recommend it, the hotel will put a $375 credit hold on your card and parking is $14/day for self park and $18/day for valet. We chose valet and never had to wait long for our car. The staff all over the hotel are exceptionally friendly and helpful, our first room was next to a really loud and obnoxious couple and the front desk happily moved us to a lovely room. The breakfast buffet was awesome to have, lots of pastries, breakfast, and Hawaiian type foods with an open air seating plan. Upon checkout, you're presented with a beautiful kukui nut lei, every time you come back to them, they'll replace a brown nut with a white one, it's a really cool added touch. We're already planning our return, that's how much we enjoyed ourselves!

Dirty lobby, torn old carpets, tiny parking spaces, peeling wallpapers, ancient decor, and the stench in the room is unbearable. What else can I say. Not worth the money. I forgot to add that the AC in the room was not working. Literally no air to breathe. Worst vacation experience

We love this place. They are by far the best hotel if you want to learn about the Hawaiian culture. They have crafts, ukelele lessons, flute and bamboo trumpet making, lei making, hula lessons.... and the list goes on.... most included with the hotel stay. It is not a chain hotel but a family owned hotel with the feel of a place where the employees care.

I am a travel agent and brought a group of friends and clients here most of them for the first time. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed the staff and deathly the location. While a few touch ups here and there might be needed overall a great property. Definitely lives up to the name of Hawaii's most Hawaiian Hotel! Ready to go back and so is the group. Looking forward to coming back hopefully in 2020. Missed the luau on Monday but from what I saw and heard from guests it is a good show. The Sunday champagne brunch is worth every penny. You will definitely not walk away hungry. In fact you may not eat until the following day.

With over 1,700 reviews, one might think one more is not going to do any good. Well, i'm writing one anyways because KBH was that good!! No, it was GREAT!! First off I booked this hotel purely on location and price. And both cannot be beat. But it was so much more than just those two things. From the time we pulled up and valet opened door for my wife, check in was a breeze, we self parked in parking garage. Our room was a wonderful ocean view, 2nd floor, king bed. It faced the beautiful courtyard and yes we could see/hear the ocean.
Room was clean and comfortable.
Beach was wonderful and renting chairs was easy and quick. And if/when you had enough sun, go lounge in one of the many loungers in the courtyard under huge trees.
Breakfast every morning was awesome and fun sitting outside but under shelter. Dale at the Tiki Bar was a hoot!!! We loved visiting with him. Dinner out is as close as the Tiki Terrace on the property or a short walk to Whalers Village where there are many choices.
I highly recommend KBH for your Maui vacation!!!
Thank you KBH for making ours so memorable.

If you are Ocean view lover then make sure not to book partial Ocean view as you will completely disappointed. Staff was friendly enough to upgrade complete Ocean view with some decent charges.

Cheap. Not in a good way. poorly designed bathrooms with shower that drains slowly, toilets are old and don t work without need service often. Felt like corners were being cut everywhere. Only redemption is it s location and mostly friendly staff. For the price to stay here, just spend a bit more and enjoy one of the other hotels on Ka anapali.

Absolutely not worth what it costs. Old structure, poor wi-fi and if you take breakfast included then you have to spend an additional $ 9 (tip) per day. In line with the other structures of Hawaii, all very expensive and old. Then they don't even have a shower for the toilet and the one in the tub is fixed. Who knows how the Americans are used to.

Best place to stay on Maui!! Great for families. Fantastic staff. Walking or bus distance to shopping. Free craft classes offered during the week. Back enough from the beach so there is loads of room to roam and relax. We have been there many many times and wouldn't stay anywhere else.
