Van der Valk Hotel Brussels Airport Review

Good choice and great Hotel. Especially if you have to leave early or arrive late at Zaventem or for a day trip to Brussels.

Present for an event in the diamont lounge. Beautiful view, everything well cared for. Only the carpet and the curtains could use a facelift. That would really take the room to the next level.

A wonderful hotel, in a great location when you have to catch a flight from Brussels airport the next day. Information and well synchronized shuttles to get to the airport.

Our little family was accommodated in a large room with three beds and a nice bathroom following a flight cancellation. The set is correct and very comfortable.

The restaurant is spacious and well appointed. Special mention for the very pretty water carafe bearing the image of the hotel. The dish served was typical of the country with golden fries, accompanied by a good beer. We would have liked to have a rather light dessert (fresh fruit salad or sorbet) but the restaurant menu only offers very generous desserts.

The breakfast is very good, with a very wide choice whether it is salty or sweet. The buffet is also very well presented, superbly stocked. Compared to other 4 star hotels, there is a little more choice (especially salty) and the setting is also very pretty.

Some points that could be improved to make the hotel really perfect:

-The toilets had traces that are not at all worthy of a 4 star hotel

-There was a compartment that contained an electrical circuit breaker inside the cabinet. The small wooden door to this compartment fell every time we wanted to retrieve things from the wardrobe and made a loud noise (we were in room 112).

-There are small screw tips protruding from one side of the headboard. It could hurt a toddler who is having fun hiding behind.

-The staff who came to clean knocked twice in the morning on our room door when we told them that we are vacating the room at noon.

Despite all these drawbacks, I put a comment with 5 stars because the staff is friendly and the welcome is very professional. We very much appreciated the special attention given to children at the reception, the "kids check in"!

We will probably choose this hotel again for our next Brussels vacation if we have to catch an early morning flight or arrive late at night.

It was modern and nice. Staff were friendly. There were a few drinks in the mini fridge that were complimentary.

Good location to spend the night just before you travel. You can leave your car for free if you are away for more than a week.

Very roomy, nice. No hot meat to your breakfast, just scrambled egg. One 2 tea bags per room per day regardless of accompany

Great hotel and great service and also very spacious rooms. Unfortunately, more attention is paid to cleanliness. Especially the bathroom needs more care and the mold stains in the shower must be eliminated.

We were directed to this hotel due to a flight delay. We were not very well received and the next morning it was a little complicated with the shuttles because when we arrived we were not told that we had to book! However very correct room and very good breakfast.

First of all it was excellent with parking. They were also super customer friendly. Everything was explained how we could go to Brussels by public transport. The train was also very close. It was also super modern room and it was very nice that we were brought to the airport entrance by minibus. Everything was very neat and well arranged.

Where do I start?

I had the "luxury" of staying at this hotel about a month ago when my Delta flight to Atlanta was delayed for four hours, and then cancelled altogether. The staff here was horrendous. They were rude, condescending, and frankly did not care about whether our needs were met.

I get that this hotel was not expecting around 150 disappointed people to stay overnight that morning. Upon leaving the airport, we were promised three meals (lunch, dinner, and breakfast), and drinks all included for the inconvenience. When we arrived at the hotel, we were completely lied to about lunch, and had to deal with the rude check in staff.

A couple hours later, let's call it two-so at about 6:00 PM, the power at the hotel goes off (I understand that the hotel is not to blame). Our vouchers for dinner say that we have to eat inside, but since the lobby was quite hot, the majority of the people from the plane ate outside (since it was about 75 F). An employee of the hotel spoke at us quite condescendingly in French to "eat inside and follow basic instructions." Unbeknownst to him, one person by us was fluent in French and chirped back something equally as condescending.

Like I had written earlier, Delta gave us on our voucher-drinks for our stay. It was a printed out sheet saying that we could have complementary drinks that evening. A handful of the bartenders (like four or five) decided that they wanted to "cut us off" at three per person for the night, and they wanted to decide what we could and could not get. No, no, no. That did not happen. Finally, a person who I assume was the bar's manager could see that the sheet of paper did not say a finite number, but capped it at three per trip up.

All in all, I do not think that I would recommend this hotel to really anyone. I do my best to watch to see how people react to a situation like this, the Van der Valk Hotel handled it absolutely horribly. No one was polite at all, no one went out of their way to see if people needed anything. If I didn't have to give a star rating, I would not have given y'all one. This hotel was that bad.

Very angry for an overbooking, they kindly pampered me. Go and see the view on the seventh floor you see the atomium. Discreet dinner. I'd say it's okay!

Convenient to the airport. Clean, spacious rooms. Very good breakfast and we'll prepared meals for dinner. Great service for business meetings.

Decent hotel with a Tesla Supercharger as added advantage. In the middle of an office park so no activities possible in the immediate surroundings.

I ended up staying at the Van Der Valk after my Brussels Airways flight was cancelled. The airline provided a free night accommodation. I had very low expectations, bit was more than pleased. The hotel is very nice, clean and had a very nice restaurant/bar. Would be fine stars, but the bed was pretty soft. Would recommend when in Brussels.

A great location when you need to be here for business. The lobby is fine, personel is okay, breakfast is perfect but the Superior rooms are not "superior". Old and poor bed, seat at my desk was aweful. Bathroom is "ok".

I have visited multiple Van der Valk Hotels. I enjoy the business environment, great place for conferences and for some physical workouts. The Belgian National Rugby team was staying for their next upcoming game.

All services. Rooms in very good condition. Board offering in bar and restaurants. The dishes in the main restaurant are a bit fancy. The bar and sushi place are pretty pragmatic.

Property very well kept. Comfortable and spacious room with a large bathroom.

The toucan hotel brand is always in good taste. And this one does not miss the call. Sober place, modern, a little dark and of good taste. The staff is pleasant and speaks different languages. The rooms are clean and neat but the walls are not soundproofed with the neighbor's room. Very large bathroom. Possibility of ironing his clothes. Bar open late. But the restaurant closes around 11pm. Possibility to recharge his Tesla at the charging stations.

Lovely hotel.. very clean, mini bar, coffee machine and some lovely beer! Wouldn't say their food is outstanding but not terrible either.. great location to airport and offices

Good business hotel. Best in the area. Friendly & helpful staff. Nice bar downstairs to wind down after a day's work. Their restaurant serves up good buffet breakfast & ala carte dinner. Short walk to train station. Not much F&B options nearby. They also have a Tesla charging lot which is a plus.

Ended up here for overnight stay before early flight. Very friendly and helpful staff. We were wrongly booked (1 room for 4 people was booked) but then got two rooms instead at no extra cost.
Buffet open to 23.
Good room, comfortable beds. Recommended.

A peaceful night and a card that makes you want. Most importantly, there is a taxi to take you to the airport.

Very well located hotel near the airport. The hotel offers a beautiful package where you can leave your car during your trip. Very good restaurant and excellent breakfast. Very friendly staff. The hotel is now 10 years old and you can tell from the bathroom ... it is starting to show slight signs of wear.

I went there for a drink. Slow service, uncleaned table before serving, lots of drafts, ... Short service and comfort far from what is expected in a hotel of this level. I can not speak for the hotel.

The allocated Superbox room wouldn't have been my choice by all standard. It is better suited for students.

As a coach guest I did not have a good experience, We stayed for 2 nights news were not made no tea or coffee replaced for the second morning breakfast was a disaster no bacon, beans , sausages or croissants . Not enough bar staff for the amount of guest not a very good experience.
