Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - Central Station Review

Location is great!! Tram in front of the hotel s door and metro station is a minute walk!

The positives: location, cleanliness, comfortable beds, shower although very slippery, attention to falls. Minuses: breakfast with products of poor quality and little matched, non-opening glass room.

Only one of the four elevators was functioning. Adding that to the pandemic, wait for the elevator for up to 30 minutes. Crappy toilet paper.

No windows in the room that could open. You pay 23.50 for the parking garage regardless of how long you are standing there. You encounter tramps in the elevator. Bad experience...

Nice and calm place. Good breakfast and very kindly stuff.

Great stay and had the best breakfast and service for Judith what a wonderful host.

The positive and important thing for us was underground car parking to leave our car in safe place for several days. The room itself was cleaned good, but the bed was really old, "hardly used" and not comfortable. Windows to the tram line which make a noise almost all the time. The breakfast was limited, so better to have somewhere else. For one night it is a good solution, but can't recommend to stay there longer.

Rooms are clean. Services are good. The location makes travelers convenient to reach. However, the variety of breakfast is not impressive. No scrambled eggs, no bacon, no hot food.

I already pre paid for 2 rooms for 2 nights by IHG club(it's actually their official member). However, I missed to check-in at the first night because my flight was cancelled from London(Strom Ciara). Then I was there to check-in for the second night as it said in the confirmation email that
Deadline: Guaranteed for late arrival by credit card.
As I already paid for 2 nights and they also have my credit card information and my email. Nonetheless, the hotel is fully booked when I was there. I was asking for my rights about rooms
that should be prepare for me for 2 nights even I missed to show up due to a prepaid. They had cancelled my reservation and didn't even try to contact me before a cancellation.
Thus, I did pay 400 for nothing. The best solution that the reservation manager can gave us at the time was to inform the price per night at the opposite hotel, which is the Hilton hotel. I saw two other guys in front me and behind me had a same problem that they got the confirmation but can not check in due to a fully booking.
What's the proper words for this? Oh I think "thief" should be perfect for them I guess.
If you would like pay around up or less 100 per night in Rotterdam, I would highly recommend to stay away from this hotel.

Nice hotel. Clean comfy rooms.
Breakfast choice a bit too narrow. There is only "imitation" of bar so do not expect anything more than a beer to be available.

Relatively ok. Shower in the room not working properly, water comes out so slow. Breakfast during pandemic is ready to pick up in the reception. Juice, apple and the bread was old.

Room was neat and clean. Nothing to complain about.

Very croudy breakfast, but tasty. One night we had to move to another hotel because the hotel was full (although we had a confirmed reservation). I wasn't comfortable for us.
But the room was nice and clean.

Great hotel for not too much money, breakfast is simple and not too large space so you have to be on time otherwise you are just waiting further excellent.

I think this one deserve a 5star, though its not that really 5star hotel but the accomodation is friendly, the staff are very helpful, the room are clean and bathroom are having blue dimlight which can be relaxing, the view from outside in the evening are great

The Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam is located about a 5 minute walk from the train station and about a 30 minute train ride from the airport. The hotel lobby is on the first floor with a small seating area and a bar as well as the breakfast area. The rooms are nice and modern as are the bathrooms, however make sure you get a room facing the back as it gets very noisy on the main street in front of the hotel especially during weekends. There is a small business centre across from the lobby as well. The breakfast is nice however there are no hot dishes at all. Overall a good hotel at the heart of the city.

It was alright, but we should have stayed at the Marriott instead! The hotel was just basic.

Great location. Good sized clean room. Complementary breakfast - the only problem was breakfast was so busy but if we had gone down earlier I'm sure it would have been quieter.

About 5 minutes walk from Rotterdam Central Station, the counter is friendly, Platinum members can choose to welcome points or drinks, I suggest to choose a drink, you can drink Dutch draft beer. I was lucky enough to be assigned to Room 224 this time, this is a spacious, bright room. Breakfast is very good, but go early to avoid long queues.

Nice hotel with decent sized rooms. Reserve your rooms ahead to get the best rates. They fluctuate daily depending on demand. Breakfast is cold continental, but not too bad. Locaded right by the city center. Perfect location for shopping, food, and drinks!

Excellent hotel, clean, good beds, nice bathrooms. Staff is helpful, and friendly in addition. Package taken with breakfast was fine. Good coffee. Dining room is fairly compact, but location is great. At the foot of the Coolsingel, metro station a few hundred meters, and very close to the Central station.

Very decent clean rooms with a wonderful city view and friendly staff. The staff are very helpful as they directed me to where I could fix my gadget at a fair price and even offered to take me there. It is well positioned as a tram station is just right at the front of it and the train station is a walkable distance from the hotel. Media mart, KFC and other shops are also walkable distance from the lodge so there's basically nothing you want you can't get around. They also offer cool complementary breakfast.

In Rotterdam you just want to be close to the central station. But a mall of restaurants, an Imax and the eastern district are also within walking distance. Good cost-benefit.

Lovely staff good environment I will love to stay there again

Fit for leisure but not for business travelers (no iron in the room nor enough hangers/shelves to hang the clothes). It is also not friendly to nursing mother as there is no fridge/freezer to store the milk and you are not allow to store them in their restaurant freezer too.

A really great location to explore the city. Rooms are very clean and beds ok. But I think it's a shame that there were few staff present at check-in. Therefore it took unnecessarily long I thought. I was also not fond of the breakfast. Grab and go. I understand you are trying something because of corona but this is really not a nice breakfast. Besides the awkward food, it seems like camping, it was also very mediocre. 2 small rolls and a bad croissant. Here you got just enough toppings to taste something different than the bread itself. Fortunately the weather was nice and we were able to quickly visit a terrace to enjoy a good breakfast. If you are looking for a hotel with breakfast, this is not recommended

Very small rooms, no possibility to open the windows, carpet and plastic pads on the mattress. All in all, not a pleasant stay. The staff, however, is exceptionally friendly and helpful, so the still acceptable 3 stars

Everything fine to your liking, breakfast very good

In this hotel, the coronavirus was well observed and this without putting pressure on the customers Good atmosphere, nice hotel, everything was clean and tidy, nice showers (love beautiful luxurious showers), sweet staff, good customer service . Nice that breakfast is divided into packages (measure against virus)

Op loopafstand van het Centraal station en toch ook nog dicht bij de restaurants en winkels. Zeer recent hotel, voor een budget hotel zeker aan te raden. Het ontbijt is niet zeer uitgebreid.

Nicest holiday inn I've ever been in. Lovely staff and wonderfully clean rooms. Only problem was the AC made me freezing when I had it set to 21C and automatic.

Clean rooms in a convenient location with helpful staff. Basic continental breakfast available with one morning the option of fresh squeezed orange juice. No gym but bikes available to rent.

without presenting an ID at your hotel - on Holiday Inn Express Rotterdam - request for control !!!! - maybe the fraudster is still there

In itself a great hotel. Only rooms are quite musty and the bed is narrow. Breakfast is sparse.

Nice, neat and clean hotel, good beds, nice shower, only we woke up from the empty fire alarm at 10 am and the cleaning lady came running into the room at 11 am while we had reserved until 2 pm, and the do not disturb label on the door. We were stepping forward and wanted to get enough sleep, this did not work, very unfortunate.

The room is pleasantly and surprisingly great for the price we paid, the location was perfect as well. But given the experience we had with one of the receptionists its improbable we can give this hotel a high rating or recommend to anyone. The lady (blonde haired) at the reception at the time of check in was extremely rude and matter-of-fact in indicating that we cannot check in at 13:-00 as the check-in is at 15:00 hours. We were totally fine with a later check in and would have anyways dropped our bags and left for a lunch outside mind it the hotel does not have any food options on-premise. She did not even help us with the city map that we asked for to figure things out. Just gave us a black and white copy and said "here it is". The rooms have very poor noise insulation so mind it if you have crying babies or party-people next door. Apart from these issues a fine hotel!

Centrally Located, very comfortable. Would highly recommend.
