This school is a joke, simply an overpriced diploma mill. Not only are ALL the employees you deal with alumni, but they remove comments from their Facebook page that happen to be in a "negative" light in their perspectives. I have attended this school and "earned" my associates degree for over 50,000.00, my wife included at 100,000.00 approx in student loan debt. The quality of education at this facility is sub-par at best. It is sad that they will only respond to comments on their Facebook page that are not as threatening. I for one have told the truth of this diploma mill and have been muted from posting any more comments. Is this coincidence ? I think not. I will not stop posting on social media sites the plenty until my student loans area forgiven or else I will seek legal counsel as I feel I have been blindsided by a school that does not deliver. I cannot even use this degree as all employers who come in contact simply dismiss the degree from this school due to its unworthiness. Why would university of Phoenix remove my post from Facebook if they were honest and on the up and up. Do NOT fall for the scam that is university of Phoenix! I will continue to write these post on a daily basis until my situation is made right on many social media sites to inform and warn everyone of this scam. Being a student at UOP was a great experience. They have a great MSN online program that was challenging, yet doable even when working full time. The instructors are knowledgeable and helpful, they give clear expectations and objectives for each class. They are all dedicated to helping us to succeed.

School is horrible when you stop going because the classes where subjects you can teach yourself they try to charge you for classes that where dropped. If I where anyone I would go to community college they are better at teaching and, much cheaper. This is a for profit college they have been sued and changed owners several times. Im attending a community college and it's the best thing I could have done less money without gimmicks.

UOP is a joke. Just as many on here have said, it took me less then a week to realize that I had made a mistake. Seventy percent of my first class could not write past the level of a fifth grade student. You are required to participate in discussion forums but how do you hold a discussion with someone who cannot articulate on an adult level? After dealing with them until I acquired my AA I quickly switched to a brick and mortar school where I have just finished my master's degree. When the UOP recruiter tried to convince me to continue on with them instead of switching he literally told me that the classes were designed so that people with less intelligence could participate. The e-books that they used were older versions and many of them were high school books. I do not regret my decision but it was definitely a learning experience. If you are sincerely interested in seeking a valuable education I strongly suggest that you find it somewhere other than here.

Had a awesome time at University of Phoenix studying for my IT degree. It wasn t easy but I took the time within myself to do what was best and focused on my work and family helped me along the way because they saw that finishing what I started was an important goal for me and the day I walked on stage and heard my name meant so much for me and my family

I am a working mom of two. I couldn't afford daycare and had to work the night shift while my husband works days. University of Phoenix gave me the flexibility and resources I needed to complete my bachelor's degree. I couldn't have done this in the traditional university setting. They are constantly in contact with you and easy to contact so you don't feel on your own.

I read many reviews it seems everyone that has complaints. Is moreso concerned with money/disbursments/the fiancial aspect instead of the educational aspect. Depending on the program you decide what challenges/stimulates you. If you are going to school for money you are going for all the wrong reason(s). I dont think people critically think about the degree they want to pursue. Of coarse, the degree is just a piece of paper if you didnt have a well thought out process before, OBTAINING THE DEGREE. 98% of you are complaining about money. You had the wrong intentions. I already knew what I career line I wanted to be in and what I wanted to do well before, I obtained my Masters from Phoenix. I had a well thought out plan I did not go for money! You have to really want it and make sure you do you due deligence and investigate before, you jump into a program. You can't blame the school for bad intentions and irresponsible adulting on your behalf. Be Blessed!

This school can do a professional/business person ...

This school can do a professional/business person more harm than good. Their admissions process is sub-standard. It seems they accept anyone who is able to pay the tuition rather than focusing on their academic abilities, accomplishments and potential contributions to the classroom discussions and team assignments. I found that their were the "workers" and the more serious student who would pick up the slack for the inept, lazy or those that are just getting by. I took one course and during the first week a student approached me asking for a copy of my paper to see how it was formatted. He also asked for my assistance to review his paper due to his limited English. I shared the incident with the instructor who requested I ignore the person. Subsequently, I finished the course but dropped out of the program. A school that turns the other cheek to cheating, plagiarism or inappropriate behavior is not one that is not focused on their student's success in the business world and it is only interested in their profits. Your MBA is only as good as the school you earned it from....plus your GPA. There are other schools out there with reasonable tuition, good reputation and integrity.

I feel like I'm wasting my time here every time you turn around you have a different academic counselor, when you have an issue it's always a bunch of talk talk and never a solution to the problem. This new black board system is the worse. The facilitators don't really be online just write down questions for the students to answer. I'm sorry I chose this school.

The Education And Professionalism Of The Staff Are Great Along With The Resources That Students Are Provided. The Financial Aid Department Are Prompt And Detailed My Financial Advisor Ms. Heselius Is Awesome. However The Downside To The School Is That As A Current Student, Management Needs To Gain Structure To The Veterans Affairs Department Or Hire More Staff or Revamp The SOP With Processing Information To The VA. Not Sure Exactly What Happened In The Last 6 Months But It Has Become Snail Pace. If This Process Improved I'd Be Happy To Share Information About The Institution With Fellow Veterans. But What Is Important To Us Is The Processing Of Information. Not Particularly Sure What The Process Entails But The Outside Looking In, It Is Frustrating Wondering Why Information Is Back Dated And Getting Sent Late. A Year Ago After Attending My 3rd Class If The Course The Certification was Automatic. Now After The Class Is Complete Right Before Starting The Next Course I Receive A Certification Of Enrollment. Fellow Veteran Classmates Have The Same Frustration. Great Academic Environment Overall.

I being a Military Veteran, as well as a former graduate of a few other colleges, would not recommend this institution to veterans as well as anyone else for that matter. From my experience it seems as if this college is more so for profit rather than providing a quality education, compared to my past educational endeavors. I personally was awarded FAFSA benefits back in January of this year and as of today 05/06/20 have not been rewarded a dispersement from U of P. Instead the financial aid department will come up with many different excuses, so called errors on your financial documents as well as repeatedly request you to resubmit the same paper work over and over again. It seems they are very good at kicking the can down the road and having you the student to continue jumping through hoops to hold on to your grant. Buyer beware.

This is the worst university, when considering your personal financial needs. They cut corners, delay paperwork, hide the true numbers and worst of all they don't apply you for the federal aid in which you qualify for. Never ever turn to their financial department unless your life depends on it. Call FAFSA and try to handle as much of your financial needs on your on your own, they will not help, they will not look out for you, they will only hurt your chances of receiving the aid you are entitled too. I am truly disappointed in this university, better yet, lack of a university.

I believe in garbage in garbage out. You get what you put into something. I am one clin Business from obtaining my undergrad in Business Administration. Iams Mini have had a long road I did two years online with the University of Phoenix in the last two years at a brick-and-mortar site. The professor we're mostly outstanding but there is always one or two that you may not agree with. I would recommend this University to anyone but you have to put in the hard work I do agree it is a little pricey but this was very good University that work with me having a full-time job.

Great University, But definitely not for inactive people who always have excuses. UOP is not an easy college just because is online, and you still need to study hard. When I read some comments and complains about UOP, to me seems like just childish excuses. However they still have room for improvement like everywhere else, but overall I am happy with them.

Absolutely horrible school. I attended 2001-2004 when I was forced to withdraw 3 weeks before the next class was forced to leave after suffering a near fatal car accident.

I was still in ICU 5 weeks later when I started getting a nasty bill collections company calling me 10+ times daily for weeks.

I pulled my credit and sure enough my credit plunged 140 pts and I had withdrawal due to circumstances beyond my control and University of Phoenix has dirty practices billing for a class I had never took.

DON'T go to this school please-if I could give them a negative rating I would.

I enrolled at this school a couple years ago. I was going to go to a local community college and had gotten accepted there with all the different processes completed. Well come to find out they didn t have the class that I wanted to start of in so I decided I would go with the U of P. It took well over a month of them arguing saying that I didn t have the right paperwork and I couldn t start classes until I had them. Keep in mind those were the exact same papers that had gotten me into the other school. One day they say okay you start your classes in a couple weeks. I was confused because they had just finished telling me my financial process hadn t gone through and I was about to go back to the other school. I figured well maybe they figured out that those were the papers I needed after all. I started class and a month goes by and I get a phone call from the financial advisor saying that I have to take a leave of absence since my paperwork was invalid. They stopped my classes and it then became hard to get into contact with my personal financial advisor for this school. After months of trying to get a hold of them and months of trying to find the correct paperwork I gave up. Nothing was said afterwards and I didn t get any paperwork from them until around a year later saying that they had turned my file over to a collections agency because I didn t pay what I owed. All the while I hadn t heard from them and I couldn t get a hold of the advisor that knew my file. Everyone else would direct me to the right person but I would be put on hold until my phone died. At that point I was pretty pissed off. Several months back I tried to get a loan for a house I m remodeling and this came up as a private loan and the teller said that he wasn t sure I would qualify for such loan because of this. Not only had it put a hold on me furthering my education but on the rest of my life too. I wasn t given the opportunity to back out before the class started and they had me under the impression that everything was ready to go and the financial process had been taken care of. Guys I m telling you. If school isn t enough drama I d say stay away from this system cause it will screw you over with a smile.

This school is nothing but a gigantic joke. I have been enrolled for about 4 months. Their are a few good people in the academic services office but other than than that, nobody gives a damn about your success there. They just want your money. They screwed me over and dropped me from a class for false reasons and now they want me to retake the course and pay for it. I am absolutely disgusted with the institution and am regretting even enrolling. I would never recommend that anybody should seek their online education through The University of Phoenix.

I am really grateful for my experience and support that I received at the University of Phoenix. The support staff was always knowledgeable, caring, informative and available to guide me in the right direction to accomplish my dreams and helping me graduate.

There were a few stumbles along the way like health and family issues as is life, but the staff was always available to support my needs, and help me over these life hurdles.

Attending as an online student, UoP made every learning environment a successful one. Almost all my classes had wonderful instructors and students from all over the United States. Lessors were clear, discussions were always interesting and I really learned so much not only about the class but about real life experiences. I was able to apply what I learned to a multiple of careers.

Over the years each day became easier, the work wasn t always easy but the daily routine of attending class, submitting assignments and taking test was like second nature. Advisors didn t let you fall threw the cracks. Until the very last class and even after that they called or emailed with this is what s next .

My entire adult education from Associates to dual Masters was with UoP. I can say with pride that every time I see a commercial for UoP, tears comes to my eyes because I am a Phoenix .

I am an alumni at UOPX. I got my bachelor's and two master's degrees there. I thought I'd try for a 3rd one. I liked the format. But, turns out the 3rd degree was a bad idea. And, the wrong time in my life to attempt going back to school. As long as you are an ACTIVE student, attending full-time, you have their attention because they are getting your money. I recently had to withdraw from the program for personal reasons, and they did a 360. It went from always friendly and positive contact to nothing. They do not return phone calls or e-mails about your financial aid questions (or any other for that matter). I finally got someone to answer my questions and got conflicting information. I still don't have a straight answer to the question I ask. I am very disappointed with the University. They do NOT care about their students or alumnus. They care about the money they get. And, they are still holding student loan funds for me that I am being charged interest on. Their response...they are returning it to the lender. But, that has yet to happen. Don't get bamboozled by this school. You'll end up in a debt that could pay for a new construction home. And, your degree won't mean much. They make alot of promises they can't and don't keep.

Took online classes and achieved a certification in HR management. Was told the classes were for 3rd and 4th year college students. I hadn't been to school in almost 20 years. I passed with a 4.0 but a little concerned how easy it was considering my lack of experience. Seeing the lack of substance in other students posts and contributions made me wonder if they are really preparing them (or myself) for the real world. I did enjoy my learning experience but have yet to put into practice. I give 4 stars so far but may update later.

If you have a busy schedule...upox is NOT for you.they utilize "team learning " where you have to produce projects or power point presentations as part of your grade.working with as many as 8 students per group over multiple time zones and work schedules is something that has really been a pain. Plus means of communication are limited with their new platform to email or bulletin board. No instant messaging. Unless you get other students to agree to trade phone numbers.... good luck! Check other online options first and ask if they require team projects before committing. Other than this the school is great and the proffessors and academic advisors are engaging and helpful.

Students don't get the education they need. They might as well go to junior high and get a better education. This is not a reputable school to go to because the classes are a joke. Do not even think of getting a doctorate degree at phoenix university because it is worthless. Doctorate degrees are signed by faculty with MBAs...They don't even have the right accreditation to issue doctorate programs. You are warned! You won't be able to transfer your credits to another graduate program. Someone I know just couldn't transfer their program anywhere and had to start over, but the school got her in so much debt that she ended up with nothing! UOP charges so much money for crappy education that won't take you anywhere. They hire teachers with foreign transcripts that are not even approved by the US Department of Education that could have been printed from bump Egypt school of nowhere or from a jungle where monkeys are taught to climb trees. What a joke to call it a University!

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justic...

I obtained my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from UoP roughly 4 years ago. These past 4 years have weighed HEAVY on me. The thought that I went through all that schooling only to come out $56,000 in student loan debt. The financial advisors take advantage of you, in that, they say "hurry and sign this or that as classes are starting in a few days". My MAIN complaint that I feel so compelled to write a review about is that I specifically relied on Cameron, my initial intake counselor, to assist me in determining the best degree program for me. I specifically stated that I wanted to become a Criminalist or a Forensic Scientist. I was 100% mislead. 100% lied to, just so I would sign up. I can tell you that Criminal Justice is NOT the degree program that should have been offered to me. Instead of saying, "with the career choice you are explaining to me, I feel it would be best for you to obtain a degree in the science, chemistry, or biology fields and we do not offer those here" they stated that I would need to obtain my degree in Criminal Justice FIRST. I can tell you this is absolutely not correct. Guess what I am doing now? After $56,000 in debt?? I am having to obtain an entirely new Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry. I am paying now for each one of my classes at a local school here. I am now wasting another 4 years of my time to essentially start all over from scratch. I have nothing to show for my BS degree in Criminal Justice that is meant for one to become a glorified cop or probation officer. I hate this school beyond belief for wasting my time and lying to me. I trusted them. I trusted that they were steering me in the right direction. I even told them after completing my Associate program there, that I felt like I needed to have more sciences, they literally pushed and pushed and told me that I was not correct. I wish on the Lord that I would have recorded every conversation I had with them. I feel that I am owed a deletion of that $56,000 in debt that I have as I am having to start ALL OVER. I promise you, this review is not in bad taste over the money. We are talking about 4 years of long nights, 4 years of homework, papers, studying, reading, discussions. 4 years of long hard work, for it to be a total waste of time.

Back in 2012 my daughter and I went through a house fire and almost lost our lives. At the time I was also enrolled as a student, taking classes through the online campus. The fire caused me to have to leave school temporarily (obviously because I didn't have a home or computer). However, university of phoenix doesn't seem to care about their students well being. All they care about is money instead. They are making me pay $1500 in student debt because I had no means to finish my classes (because my house burned down) when I spoke with a financial advisor they told me "it don't matter the circumstances, you are still responsible for paying for your classes". Keep in my that my daughter and I almost died but they expect me to still pay them money that I can't afford to pay. At this point it's putting yet another hindrance on my life because they refuse to release my transcript so that I can continue my education with another school. This is the most heartless school ever. I even offered to submit paperwork from red cross proving that I'm telling the truth but they denied it!

*** UPDATED*** It has been over a month and a half and I m still waiting for my credits to be matriculated. I have been calling, leaving voicemails, and sending emails at least twice a week. Their usual response is they are behind. I understand that credits have to be reviewed but other universities do not take over a month and a half. Financial aid is waiting for my matriculation to process before I can get any financial help. As of Aug 2nd, 2018 my matriculation is still in process. I should have done my research about this university before applying. I have been patient but this is beginning to be unprofessional.

Aug 8, 2018 update

After emailing Ashely, Esmeralda and Jorge. My matriculation has finally been completed. It took 2 business days (not including the weekend) after posting the earlier review and it was amazingly completed. I would add additional stars to my review but I would not change my first impression. Just like the saying goes you can only make a first impression once. Hopefully this was just a rare oversight and no one else is having the same experience as me. Now let s see how long the financial side of the house takes to give me my aid.

Don't even think about coming to attend UoP unless you have the entire total amount due to pay upfront or have a well laid out financial aid plan set in stone and backed up by more concrete. I graduated with almost a 4.0 and I was late on one payment and was sent to collections. This school doesn't value anything but money.

I went to UOP for my AA, BS, and now have an MS in Psychology. My professors were for the most part worked out very well. The group projects were great! I also believe that you get out what you put in. I recommend this University!

The process was unprofessional from billing to grading. The professors seem preoccupied and/or uninterested, and there was no formal accountability for group projects. If you are a good student, you should expect to get dumped on by poor students who will disappear when it s time to submit a group project. Either you ll be solely responsible to fix and repair horrible submissions at the last minute or you will sink, like the Titanic, by no fault of your own. Good luck trying to get timely feedback from your professors, and if you have billing issues, be prepared for months and months of a run around.

Amazing people still enroll in this sham of a "school". The degree, if you actually get one after drowning in debt, is completely worthless. Now they're targeting veterans which is simply unacceptable. This place needs to be put out of business for good.

I like the formatting, but I am getting increasingly worried about the CACREP accreditation for the counseling program. It has been in progress for a few years now with no indication as to when it will be CACREP accredited. I m worried that I am spending a lot of money for a degree I cannot use.

After you graduate and can't get a job in the field you went to school for. Then you find out your student loans work like this . The first two years you pay no money to your student loans you only pay interest the next two years after that you pay only $5 to your student loan and $310 to your interest.

I was working toward my doctorate in Educational Leadership with the desire to teach teachers at the university level. After having served as a supervisor of student teachers in the Little Rock, AR school district, I felt I must do something to try to help. After much reflection and research, I chose UoP. My classes were wonderful. The instructors were very well qualified. It was when I began my dissertation that I began feeling totally lost, unsupported and frantic!

My first dissertation chair was basically not present. The second was just a cheerleader telling me things to encourage me, but not giving me much direction. There was another one who was helpful enough that she advised me to take some time off because she could see I was badly burned out. My last one was fabulous, but UOP changed my degree track! Given mu age and the amount of money I already owed, I decided to withdraw. That is still an ache in my heart. I'm not a quitter and I didn't get to help anybody!

If you are looking for a school to waste your hard earned money at ...then Phoenix University is for you. This school give many students the impression that they are there to help you, when they really are not. This school is ONLY about the money and that is it. I paid $900 for a class that I wanted to transfer and I couldn t, because the teacher failed me.
My son was hospitalized for three days and I missed just one assignment and my Spanish teacher would not allow me to make up the work because it was a personal issue . Just me out of the kindness of my heart just wanted to WARN you about this school and allow you to reconsider coming here.

Thank me later.

Great experience. I was worried initially about taking all my classes online because I did not know what to expect. However, after my first class, I felt confident that I would succeed. The instructors made the classes interesting. My advisor consistently checked on me and my progress. I was not alone. Thank you for the support and wonderful experience.

I loved the simplicity Phoenix uses to make the online as efficient and effortless as they possibly can. It is hard enough trying to balance all factors of life and going to college at Phoenix easy as a process that I have experienced. Wonderful people helping you succeed in school and life. Would not think twice to recommend this school and online community to others.

Overall, fantastic University that is never given the credit they deserve! Over the four years I have been enrolled I have had so much support and help from staff that I didn t receive elsewhere. The staff are phenomenal, they genuinely care about your education and what life holds for you after graduation.

I've gotten a lot more out of this school than exp...

I've gotten a lot more out of this school than expected. They provided me with far better resources than the previous college I attended, ITT Technical Institute. Everything has been going well. Until.

I noticed a woman who had a history of misspellings, and incomprehensible sentence structure in class, was copying and pasting paragraphs. She was because they obviously weren't her own.

She wasn't citing sources. She was schooled on several occasions on her answers by other students. But she just kept posting plagiarized content. I made a comment to her about it in class. She kept doing it.

I complained to the staff, and to the professor. Nothing happened. I sent her a personal letter advising her that copying and pasting content was plagiarism. I was pissed because I put a lot of work into my responses. This woman was passing the class for copying someone else's work.

They didn't assure me that the situation was being handled. So I handled it myself.

They sent me a disciplinary letter because I sent a letter to her personal email, schooling her on plagiarism, and the qualifications of that course.

They wouldn't discipline the woman themselves, and didn't like it for anyone else to either.

This woman should never have been permitted to take this course. The authors that she copied should be notified, in my opinion.

I've noticed in every class I've taken thus far, at least fifty percent of the class doesn't use proper sentence structure, grammar, or punctuation. But never had I seen anyone outright plagiarize another author's works. And they let her get away with it.

This school has failed, and stupid has excelled.
