Will not be coming back to this place again! I have been taking my vehicles to Tuscaloosa Chevrolet for several years. The work, communication and overall experiences have declined drastically over that time frame. This past appointment was the pinnacle.

The headlight ballast that was replaced earlier in the year by Tuscaloosa Chevrolet went out. I called to verify that the part was still under warranty and it was confirmed that it was. During my appointment, this was a part I wanted replaced. Upon inspection, I was told I needed to replace the entire headlight housing and that only replacing the ballast would not solve the issue of the headlight not working. I was told the headlight housing would cost "around $1000". With very little confidence in the diagnosis, I bought a ballast myself and replaced it myself in my garage and the headlight does work with only replacing that ballast. I sincerely believe this was just an attempt at not wanting to cover the costs associated with replacing a part that I was told was under warranty. I was extremely disappointed at this point.

To make matters worse, prior to my visit I paid for a passenger side rear door actuator over the phone with the parts department. During my time waiting, I asked for an update and Austin went to find the person working on my vehicle and he was nowhere to be found for a very long period of time. I waited for hours while this part was replaced only to get in my car to find that the door lock still did not work. I called furious and was given some excuse that the mechanic/technician "figured I meant I wanted the other door replaced instead" and proceeded to replace a perfectly good part with a brand new part. This caused me to have to make a return trip to get a refund. I was then given another reason by Austin as to why my repair was not done correctly. Apparently the wrong part was ordered even though on my appointment request it specifically states rear passenger side door actuator. Terms such as "right" and "left" were used in my interactions and I begged for them to use "driver" and "passenger". I don't believe I should have to explain to a mechanic or parts person why that is crucial.

I received a full refund and will not take any vehicle I own back to this facility or look for a car at this facility. In previous visits I wasn't told a part was needed until I arrived for my appointment only to be told, "I tried to call you. But yeah, I didn't leave a message." Highly unprofessional and I am highly displeased.

It seems like Tuscaloosa Chevrolet has a lot of sorry's for everybody I bought a Denali and now it needs a strut 700 plus dollars but it's not their fault and they don't want to stand by their cars my advice is to go somewhere else these people are true scammers..

So I see that someone has replied, and no that is not correct, my vehicle is still very much under the factory warranty, and I don't believe I spoke with anyone named Lloyd. But that is okay, respond with whatever you want, because ultimately you have lost my business. That was the 4th vehicle I purchased at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet but never again. On a side note, the very rude service guy I did speak with made it clear that my concerns didn't mean anything to anyone at your dealership. With all that being said I myself own 2 very successful businesses in Northport and I have a very large clientele, I will be sure to let them know where to avoid when purchasing cars from now on. Thank your for your time and generic response though!

Great experience, the service team was very hospitable. They got me in and out quickly, not to mention their profefessionalism. Overall I had a great experience with the Tuscaloosa Chevrolet service department team.

My third time bringing my car into this service dept. for shutting off at anytime in traffic, which is very dangerous. Last time I paid over $500 and the exact problem still continued soon as I left the lot. So I took it back, now they saying it's fixed again and it was because something wasn't screwed on tight.. Sounds like they deliberately mislead me and beat me out of over $500 because the $500 service was not the problem. I'm still not sure if I should go pick up my car or just call a lawyer. I'll never trust them again at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet service dept.

First off my wife made an appointment for my duramax but didn't have the vin #. Appointment was at 10:40. When we got there at 10:20 I was told that there is no appointment so he'd have to put it in new and call me when it was done. I told him just an oil change and tire pressure check. 4 and a half hours later they call to say its ready. When I go to pay the charge is $118.00 I say " wow that's a bit high" the cashier tells me they topped off the def which is about 9 dollars a gallon so must've been 2 gallons. I tell her they should ask before doing that because I can get it for 1.79 a gallon at the truck stop. She proceeds to tell me I shouldn't do that because they have had a lot of vehicles with trouble from that. I say I have been running def since 2013 and haven't had issues with where I buy it. She tells me good luck with that.
I paid over 70 grand for my truck and drive all over the country pulling my fifth wheel the last thing I need is a cashier trying to justify why they are ripping off an unknowing customer. Overall horrible experience.

I usually have have good experiences at the Chevy dealership on hwy 280 and Tuscaloosa when I bring my vehicle, but time I did not at the Tuscaloosa location. The only friendly face I had was my driver, and the only woman at the front desk seemed to be the only one smiling about her job. Also the list I got back on my car was not the same discuss over the phone. I also carried American Express which I discovered that s a form of payment Chevy didn t take. That s was fine. But not one person told me where I could go pull out money. I mean they should know which customer had taken the car service. I wasn t going certainly walk over to the gas station. I just needed to know what I could do. After I asked the only person who spoke up was the one woman smiling and she asked the car service if he didn t mind taking me to the Atm. Because obviously my car was on your lot. Overall the energy level from when I left the car service until walking in the doors went from a 10 to a 2 real quick. Actually disappointed. My brakes needed service. And not one person said when can we schedule your next service? I told them that I will probably come back Monday. To have those done. I rather my car be worked on by the dealership but the depressing atmosphere and the horrible service kinda of made me, wanna look else we re for a oil change or and other service to my car. I use to drive from Northport to Hwy 280 Chevy just to get my car work there. So last year when I brought it to the Tuscaloosa branch it seemed pretty legit the staff was happy nice. It was a lot safer and closer because of wear and tear on the car. Now I jut rather make the hour drive to Birmingham. I was honestly displeased. Also next time lol change is done, please come out to the car and explain why the service light is still on. So that the customer is aware of what s going on. Customers should not have to reset the oil change to 100% in there car right after a oil change from the actual dealership. I got in my car and went to check everything and my car read 47% till next oil change service. I had to reset it back so I knew I had 100%.

I brought in my 2013 Camaro because of the dashboard service message came on showing a symbol of a key and making a humming sound after I turned off the engine. My Camaro was warranty. The staff was very helpful, pleasant and had a high standard of hospitality. They showed me where the coffee stand, computer room and also let me know that there was popcorn made if I wanted some. They showed me that they really care about me and my well-being. I was in and out within 30-45 minutes. Everyone was so delightful, happy, smiling and laughing within the staff. That you don't see very often in a work place.

My new suburban had to be towed in to Tuscaloosa Chevrolet .They did total diagnostics on it . They found it needed a whole new engine. They had all this done and the new engine installed in a week! We were assigned an advisor ,Kelscie Falls. She kept us updated as soon as she was informed of anything involving my car. I don't know who the mechanic was but I want to thank him for getting me back into my vehicle in a timely manner. I will definitely have my car serviced here again. Thank you Tuscaloosa Chevrolet.

PLEASE READ REVIEW.

Im going to make this short so you dont have to read a novel but get a good review. I drove 83 miles to this dealership. After looking around trying to find the perfect truck this dealership was closest with the options so I made a appointment an was directed to Darrell Collins. We picked out a truck (stock number 232349) This truck listed for $50,165.00. After Darrell went to the sales manager (i assumed) (bobby BoBo) i looked over the paper work. (please note this is my 5th brand new truck sense 2010) So after looking through the paper work i noticed that it was $60,936.13 out the door. Seemed a little high so here are some numbers. I saved $7,786.70. My payoff of my truck was 41K. They gave me 28K for my truck. The dealer fees and state tax was $1,192.12. So if you do the simple math they hid almost $5,000 dollars. Where they tried to hid it is Balance due on trade! they said i owed 45365.30. I noticed it and brought it to Darrells attention an he said it wasn't a mistake. After leaving the dealership i received a call from darrell 4.5 hours later asking if i was still in town. He said after looking over my paper work he found the mistake i was talking about. I still have a copy of the deal and would post the picture if i could
The moral of this is i just want to let people know MAKE SURE YOU LOOK OVER YOUR PAPER WORK AND DON'T BE AFRAID TO CRUNCH YOUR OWN NUMBERS. This dealership may be great an i just had a bad experience with a couple of people. Im still looking for that same truck somewhere else. Just be aware everyone.
I just want to also say that i know people only leave reviews because they are dissatisfied. But i do want to say that the dealership Looks fabulous, and everyone welcomed me. Huge Inventory. Those are the positive things i experienced

Wouldn't buy a car from anyone but Tuscaloosa Chevy. John is always so willing to waste time talking with us and we love to look at cars. The service department is awesome. Our truck broke a belt and had to be towed from Birmingham. They set up everything and the price for tow and repair was great. Always pleased!

I came in here a few months back trying to see if I could get a quote and pricing on my vehicle for trade to determine if it was feasible to get a new car. I specifically Said that I did not want my credit ran. There was a new sales person who assured me that my credit would not be ran. The guy asked me to update my and my husbands information and he told me to make sure it was correct and sign. I did thinking I was updating my info, little did I know it was the credit application. He did not disclose that it was an app nor did he show me the necessary documents and disclosures for a credit app. The only page I saw was our names, addresses, and etc. I spent 5 hours on my birthday at the dealership to leave empty handed when I could have been told upfront that the value of my trade in was not sufficient enough to get me an affordable monthly payment. They had my keys and I had the test drive vehicle, and the sales man did not want to give me my keys to my car. I understand that I should've paid more attention by signing, but I was under the impression that I was signing to update my info and I thought the sales person was going to do right. He refused to tell me a trade in value until I updated my info, that was a sign that I should have left then. Even though I signed, my husband did not and his credit should not have been ran. My husband was not there and did not give his consent for his credit to be ran 5 times. I complained and the sales person denied any wrong doing and blamed the manager, the manager did absolutely nothing to help and his manager never called us back. I will never buy another vehicle from this dealership. I left with no copies of my supposed credit app, no privacy policy or anything because the sales person did not give me the documents and after telling him and the manager I did not want my credit ran, they ended up doing it anyway just to try to get a sale anyway when they knew it was not the best thing to do for me as a customer at that time. I went to another dealership and they told me how much my trade in was worth and how much I could afford without running my credit. Why couldn't you all do the same?

I took my vehicle to have oil changed and tires rotated. I left it overnight and filled out the questionnaire that asks what time do we need to have your car serviced by? , in which I answered 4pm. The next day at 430 the service dept calls to tell me my car is ready but they only changed the oil because they said I need two new tires on the front. So they didn t do as I, the customer, requested in hopes I would buy new tires from them. In return they lost a service sale on tire rotation and a customer because I will not take my vehicle to them again. I had to make arrangements to take my car somewhere else to have them do what Tuscaloosa Chevrolet should ve already done.

Accurate service. The person who works on my vehicle charges by 1/2 hr, even if it takes 10 min to complete a task. He is able to charge what he wants. Pretty unfair. No choice since the bill is presented after he is done. The desk staff is great.

I went to get oil changed. Had a coupon the person that checked me in took it and then nobody knew who it belonged to was charged regular price. I left the dealership and was checking my gauges and saw my fuel filter had only 11% life left no one advised me of it. I had to go back and have it replaced. Then had to find out why my coupon was not added. Now with all that said, they took the sticker for oil change on windshield off and threw it in the floor of truck. I found the package and used sanitizer in my cup holder. I bought a truck from them that s a very expensive truck from them and expect more service that this

I took my car to be repaired at the Tuscaloosa dealership and had to return my car several times to correct repair due poor service and a defective part. The last correction created a tow bill of 97.00 because if I drove the car it would have ruined the motor. I would like to be reimbursed for all of the issues and costs incurred from my service experience.

Fantastic place. Very friendly staff. They are very good about rescheduling appointments around your personal needs and situations. There is a children s area which is an awesome thing to have. Waiting times are a little long but that s expected since you re not the only person having your car serviced and it s better to wait a while and have a good job done rather that wait a short time and have a bad job done. I don't know how I could put this into words. The manager singled me out in the lobby and basically called me a cheat because I had an issue with their service last time, and they forced me to pay cash, and all but said don't come back. I had escalated the issue to Chevy corporate who basically reiterated that the dealership had the right to single me out (read: discriminate against me for filing a complaint) and basically refuse service.

This service manager has an extremely sour disposition and is just a very negative person to communicate with. Ever since the management change, things have gone dramatically down hill.
Would recommend avoiding, because the policies and practices in place here are backwards. Most dealerships bend over backwards to make sure the customer (especially a long-term customer) is happy. Not here!

We went to Chevrolet and they said that the letter was just a scam to get customers in. We have bought several vehicles from Tuscaloosa Chevrolet in the last few years. We will be taking our business elsewhere. We will also spread the word to not purchase vehicles from Tuscaloosa Chevrolet.

Obviously, the mechanics getting things done is what it takes ,and they do a good job. We have never had to take a vehicle back because the repair was not done right the first time.

My husband is very upset and disappointed with the customer service representatives, we purchased a 2016 Tahoe brand new from them I had a blow out on highway 20/59 along with the kids on Sunday August 7th he called early Monday morning reached service department lady by the name of Jennifer states to come in we can get that taken care of for you when my husband arrive he spoke with 2 gentleman that was very rude and didn't have a care in the world never inspected the tire just assumed I ran over something which I didn't remind you the sensor went off but it was saying the front tire on passenger side was flat needed air which the side that blew out was the left back tire on driver side the vehicle was purchased brand new off the lot now with only 10,000 miles the situation could have been handled better than it was if you call yourself working in a professional environment, my husband been building tires for 12 years now he inspected the tire also another company as well we was told the tire had a malfunction, it blew out in the shoulder the tire came off the whole rim, me and my kids are thankful to be alive today,the guys from customer service says it a road hazard which I can't accept that due to the way the tire blew off, so we are going to take this a little further due to the poor customer service,the way they tried to treat him and defaults that they should have replaced,we will never ever will recommend anyone nor do we plan on coming back for any reason's at all, I wish I could post pics of the tire you all get no stars from us.

I went to get an oil change and found out a few days later, they forgot to put the O-Ring back on, causing me to lose ALL of my oil going down the road. When I alerted them on their mistake, they didn't have a single care in the world that they could have messed my car up over what was suppose to be a simple oil change. Terrible service all together

I took my vehicle in for a tire rotation and oil change. As usual, everything went well and the wait was not too long. Well, the service staff at Tuscaloosa Chevrolet went beyond anything I expected. My car was really dirty and I had expressed to my grandson that we had to wash it the next day. Well, someone in the service department did it for me. When we came outside to leave I said to myself, that is not my car, but when I saw the tag and got closer, I said they washed it. Wow! Who does that? Tuscaloosa Chevrolet does. Customer service at its finest. Love you guys!!!

How I feel I cannot deeply express enough how well customer service was from the time I pulled up my servicer greetings is what made us change our mind about continuing to try to purchase a vehicle well two vehicles. To tell you the truth it did not even matter about the price because we brought by the customer service and especially the financing managers well done. I am so pleased and still bragging about how great of service we recieved.I will be sending family and friends.
