My husband was in an accident on 10/2, totaling the Journey we bought at Troncalli a year and a half ago. We went back to Troncalli on Monday, 10/7, to begin the process of replacing his car. We met Reed, who was a pleasure to work with. We knew we weren t ready to buy something that night, so we told Reed we would be back Wednesday. We narrowed down our choices to two Ram trucks, which Reed had ready for us to look at when we got to the dealership Wednesday. Unfortunately, this is where our experience went downhill rapidly.
Reed had other customers when we got to the dealership Wednesday, so we were working with another salesman, who was fine to work with. We took one of the trucks out on a test drive, got back to the dealership, and started the financing process around 6:45. We sat in the cubicle until 8:15 with very few updates. Finally, at 8:15, a finance manager came to us and said the banks had closed, so we wouldn t be able to finish financing until the next day. However, he said they would work on it first thing in the morning.
Around lunchtime Thursday, we still had not heard anything from Troncalli, and I had no alerts that my credit had been pulled (I have a credit card with credit monitoring). I called and spoke with James, and he told me they were working on it and would call back. Interestingly enough, I started receiving credit alerts about 5 minutes after I called, indicating to me that James had lied to me and hadn t been working on our financing at all.
We did not hear from Troncalli again until late Saturday morning, when we were at our daughter s soccer game and had already decided to go to another dealership. James tried to call us three times on Saturday, when I finally told him we bought a truck from another dealership since he decided to lie to me and because we weren t important enough for them to keep their word of working on our financing first thing Thursday. We ended up buying a truck from Marietta Toyota , and I have nothing but great things to say about that dealership, sales and finance team, and overall experience.
We have had the unfortunate experience of working with James in the past, as has my father, and he has been nothing but rude to all of us.
I can t wait for Don Jackson North to open so Troncalli might have to step up their game as they will no longer be the only Dodge dealership in Forsyth County. I will never go back to Troncalli, nor will the rest of my family. Between myself, my husband, and our families, we have bought at least 7 cars from Troncalli in the last 10 years, but it has become increasingly clear that Troncalli doesn t value our business.
Lastly, I reached out to the general manager at Troncalli on Thursday and shared our horrible experience with him, and I never heard a word from him. Customer service at Troncalli is clearly lacking apparently, they think they can treat people however they want because they are the only dealer in the area. Like I said, hopefully Don Jackson makes them step up their game, but I ll never find out as any of my future business will be anywhere BUT Troncalli.
