The good things about this hotel were mainly the location and the fitness center. The fitness center was nice because it didn't just have a treadmill, there were a few machines and free weights. The bad parts were the hotel was old, but not in a good way. It felt a little trashy to be honest. The hotel itself was not necessarily unclean, but furniture felt outdated and some was falling apart. The speakeasy was not as classy as one would expect from the pricing. The thing that bothered me the most was there was almost no water pressure in the shower, and not just an inconvenient amount either. It was so little that it made it difficult to shower. Others staying at this hotel for the same conference I attended had their shower heads literally falling off. Some of the staff were very helpful and friendly, but others were downright rude when asking for small service requests or just general information about the area. I would not recommend this location for staying or for your future conference bookings.

This is a beautiful hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh. It is walking distance to almost anything you'd want to do. The meeting facilities are top-notch as is the service. The ballroom and lobby are especially beautiful. The rooms are a little bit worn in spots but overall excellent. Highlights of the room include great water pressure, walk-in closet, and large flat screen TV.

Carpet in the room was dirty, all along the wall had dirt and dust. Bathroom was dirty as well. When paying $160+ per night I expect a clean room. Hotel staff were friendly enough and hotel is in a great location.

We attended a wedding that held a reception at the Penn so we stayed at the hotel for two nights. It was a really beautiful hotel and the Interior decor was very pretty. We stayed on the 15th floor, the room that one king bed and was a little small. The room was clean and service was good. When we checked in, the front desk employee was brief for with us and wasn't very informative.

The stay for 3 nights was very unsatisfying. The room was extremely small, the tub was stopped up and the inconvenience of not being able to transfer to a bigger room was upsetting. The bed was extremely uncomfortable not a fancy room; however the lobby of the hotel is beautiful.

Very nice hotel. Clean rooms, friendly workers. We stayed for 4 nights and the housekeeping staff was the best. Everything got replaced as it should, always done at reasonable time. Front desk and bell staff were helpful and courteous. Hotel has a gift show with snacks open until 11pm. Brueggers Bagels and a Starbucks. Right in the heart of downtown Pittsburgh. Highly recommended!

The rooms are just not good enough at this price point. The staff are friendly and helpful. My airconditioner is so loud when it switches off it wakes me up at night, the extractor fan in the bathroom is extremely loud. It was clearly a grand hotel a few decades ago but I will never stay there again.

As frequent travelers we always have a great experience at Omni hotels and the historic charm and luxury of this one is undeniable. Grand lobby is gorgeous, suites are chic, valet parking and Starbucks by the lobby are very convenient. We walked to restaurants and businesses since hotel is right in downtown and neighborhood is beautiful

Very clean, has a gift shop, bar, etc. Hotel was understanding and worked out something with me when my dog was barking while I was gone during the day. Parking is horrible and expensive though. That's really true for all hotels in this area though.

The Omni William Penn hotel is stunning. Incredible staff, rooms are immaculate. I have never had this type of experience anywhere. The room cost per night is so affordable for the quality/experience you get. I will be back.

We love the grandeur, charm, history of this lovely hotel. Leah provided superior service at check in! Alton was also exceptional, as were Jillian and Chris (bartenders). My only complaint was that the bed sunk in the center. Other than that, we had a wonderful stay, as we do every year.

Stunning architectural elements make your first steps into the historic Omni William Penn a sheer delight for the senses. This first time guest found the staff engaging and well trained, the accommodations a lovely blend of historic grandeourand modern amenities and the fare sampled, delicious. In an area with so many good options for accommodations, this one is a gem.

We stayed at the Omni William Penn Hotel the night of Nov.3rd, 2014. Just 2 nights ago. Actually, the hotel is not just old, it is ancient. They have tried hard to update the rooms but no success. We both sank in the middle of the king size mattress, the bathroom was literary inside the room with no little nook for sinks and the bathroom itself was too small in relationship to the worthless large room with lots of unusable space. One night table had a broken night light, where the brass cover had been ripped out. They don't put out fresh apples at the reception until 10 AM, they take 15' to bring your car out of the parking even though you pay a lot and the hotel was practically empty. The room charge was also too much for what you get. Just don't stay there if you can help it.

I visited Bruegger's Bagels inside the Omni William Penn Hotel. It was a good experience, I got my food in a reasonable time and it tasted good. I did not walk through the hotel at all, only used the outside entrance to Bruegger's.

The room was dark and dingy. The tufted velvet bench had dust and debris settled into the indentations of the buttons. The carpet was filthy around the baseboards. Overall the staff was fine but the rooms were outdated and not very well kept.

Enjoyed my stay! Room very comfortable; requested equipment promptly delivered for my medical condition. Food service staff was very helpful in finding out which food choices on the daily buffet was gluten free! Would certainly return.

This lovely hotel was located right in the heart of downtown. The staff was very friendly and helpful right from the doorman to the front desk and house staff.

The minute you enter you realize there is a lot of history here. A lot of the elegance of what is (probably) a historical hotel has been restored and it looks beautiful. There is an air of nostalgic elegance.
I was only there for one night - i had a corner room which was weirdly organized but not bad. Plenty of space, and i liked the walk in closet (not sure if other room have it). The views of downtown from room were great.

If you want to avoid the valet fare, there is a parking lot right across the street (and its cheap if you get your car out by 6am - i had to). There is an onsite Starbucks in the hotel which is nice - and it opens real early.

I had time for one meal - dinner. I was contemplating between the Terrace Room which looked classy and the Tap Room which was more like a sports bar. I picked Tap Room - bad choice for food - the Amish fried chicken i ordered was burnt to charred and so was the fries with it. YMMV.

I will probably return here when in Pittsburgh. May be careful where i eat though.

The location is very accessible to downtown and local transit. They have this bagel place inside that's just terrible.... I mean Bruegger's at other locations is much better this one is miserable. Staff was friendly

Nicely appointed guest room. Many tasty dining options and themed bars. I highly recommend the whiskey tasting experience, so many different types. All the staff were courteous and attentive.

Great place with charm and style in a good location. Easy to get all around the city by walking.
Restaurants and food options are plentiful. Staff is always friendly and helpful. Rooms are very nice. This is my go to place in Pittsburgh.

I absolutely love staying at this historic hotel. I love how unique each rom is. They are not cookie cutter type rooms that you would get at a regular hotel. However, their beds are very soft for the most part and in need of being replaced. We have only had one room that had a comfortable mattress in all of the times we have stayed there. But the service is exceptional. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is incredibly delicious. The historic charm is everywhere around you there. It is convenient to everything in Downtown and the surrounding areas. This is our go to hotel when we are in the Pittsburgh area.

Stayed in a comfortable, well furnished room while attending a very well hosted conference at the William Penn. Prime location in the center of downtown with plenty of walkable points of interest and restaurants. Absolutely no cell service or Wifi on the basement level though (level of ballrooms where the conference talks were hosted).

This place was great it's an old historic hotel I think it might be one of the oldest five star ones in Pittsburgh. But the architecture around there is amazing in the food is beyond description around there. There's a little waffle and chicken place across the street from it that I recommend so much that I would almost take a trip up there just to go eat. The top of the hotel is got a banquet area with its nice and it's within walking distance of really anything you would want to do in Pittsburgh. Very clean people very friendly matter fact Pittsburgh was a pleasant surprise at how nice and clean and beautiful of a city that it is

For a supposedly nice hotel, charging extra for WiFi is a scammy move. So is charging $1 per page to print in the business center. Fancy lobby, good location, otherwise just an average hotel.

My second choice for the DLCC in Pittsburgh. If you'll be attending an event, and can't get into the Courtyard, the Omni is a good choice. Rooms are nice, lighting is warm and low. Not usually too crazy.

Hotel staff was friendly from the minute I stepped outside of the shuttle! They were very accommodating and welcoming. The bed was comfy and the pillows were fabulous! Great service! Great food! Great experience! Can t wait for my next stay!

I was at the Omni William Penn Hotel for a conference.

This is a great hotel with great staff. Everyone was super accommodating, especially Monica who works at the check in desk. My reservation was made through a third party and so there were a few issues but she smoothed everything out.

The hotel itself has an old timey feel, with beautiful chandeliers hanging from the ceiling. The lobby had lots of tables and couches for guests who just wanted to hang out. There is a bar on one side and a Starbucks in the other side. The Starbucks is also a great place to study or people watch as it too had many tables and seats. On the William Penn floor (WP) you can visit the speakeasy. They also have a business area where you can get some work done.

Our room was very comfortable and had a great view of the parks below. The beds were comfortable and the shower was great; there was no wait for a hot shower. Actually I would be careful, the water was so hot, it could be scalding. The only downside is there are no water bottles in the room even though there is a coffee maker. However, there is an ice machine and a vending machine out in the hallway.

worst downtown hotel I've been in & I've stayed in Mogadishu lobby restaurants compete for who can serve the worst food. Dumping salt and pepper on something won't cover up the fact that you can't cook. Service simply horrible. Rooms small.

Oldest Hotel in Pittsburgh. Magnihour. .ficent lobby. Like a huge living room in a very classy home from the 1920's with comfortable couches and exquisite Tiffany chandeliers. Piano trio on Friday at dinner. Worth it just to see the lobby. Especially during the holiday season. Great place to bring the grandkids. High Tea every afternoon is available.

Very nice hotel with nice staff and good restaurant. Rooms are overall very clean and with a pretty decent space. I stayed at this hotel twice and will probably stay again in the future. The building is huge and old and therefore makes a lot of little weird noises, but some say it's because the building is haunted LOL other than this is a very nice place.
