The place was a little run down. Room was OK, nothing special. Pittsburgh was filthy, dirty, busted up streets and sidewalks. Garbage everywhere. Homeless everywhere even in the hotel. Dangerous and run down. The democrats that run this town let it go to hell. A social and humanitarian disaster. Your politicians ruined this city. Sad. We are well traveled around the world. Pittsburgh was so disapponting.

One of the grand ole hotels converted and modernized to meet guest expectations. Great location with multiple food and beverage businesses on the ground floor. Three different bars and an upscale restaurant in the lobby level. Short walk to PNC Park, the Strip and Maket Centre. Pricey but worth every dollar. Only downside was the valets were not the friendly type and gave us bad directions that nearly cost us our lives.

Stayed a few nights here. Beautiful place. Our room was exceptional. Plenty of room with a king sized bed. Very comfortable. Shower pressure was great. We had a minor issue in the room and we called for maintenance. Response time and courteousness of maintenance- outstanding. Every staff member from the bartender to the valet was first rate. Elevators are readily available and fast. Only drawback was the lack of free WiFi.

Stayed 3 nights at the WP Omni for a friend s wedding. This is the cleanest hotel with the kindest, most accommodating staff. They went above and beyond for the whole party ALL weekend! 5 Stars! Highly recommended, especially for special events.

A level of attention and gracious service that I didn't think still existed - The William Penn bowled us over with the "stem to stern" nature of their impeccable hospitality. Congratulations to this group for upholding legendary service standards!

Beautiful place with amazing architecture and wonderful rooms. Clean and maintained very well. Only thing we didn't like was the attitude of the restaurant staff, and the opaqueness of reservation policy for the afternoon high tea. (Nothing saying you need a reservation, and when we tried walking up for tea the "greeter" was snotty and condescending. )

The Omni William Penn hotel was the most beautiful hotel I have ever had the pleasure to stay in the rooms are very big and comfortable, and the staff in general are Very pleasant, especially the overnight staff none of the vending machine for some reason didn't accept cash or change, so I went to the front desk to ask if there was a machine that did and I believe the manager just gave me the coke I wanted on the house because of my inconvenience.

The Omni William Penn Experience is like no other. I refuse to stay anywhere else whenever I'm in Pittsburgh. The best rest you'll ever find outside of home along with luxury at it's finest. I look forward to each visit with much anticipation. See ya again real soon Omni William Penn

Very old hotel, architecture is pretty but shows it's age. Room is very big and beds are comfortable. Elevators seem a bit creaky, but still function. Very close to the convention center, which is nice.

Let me say first off, I love it when I'm able to stay at a hotel chain that exists in a building that reminds one of the "olden days" of travel. New hotels lack the grandeur of the buildings constructed at the turn of the 19th century. Walking through the doors of the Omni William Penn Hotel into the grand lobby with massive chandeliers and the high lobby ceilings reminds you that they certainly don't build them like they used to. Contrast that with some of the newer hotels built in cities by chains who don't pay attention to what their drab, featureless exteriors do to the architecture of the city. Drive north through Springfield, MA on interstate 91, and you see a solid wall of these boring hotel exteriors that in a way reflect the struggles these post-industrial cities continue to have defining themselves. So, thank you Omni, for using this old building with its grand architecture and elegance as one of your locations.

I've never stayed at an Omni so didn't know what to expect. Maybe it's because it was late, but I found it hard to find the registration desk (or signage for that matter), but once there was greeted warmly and checked in quickly. There are *lots* of elevators, so was quickly in my room.

Many of the old hotels have very small rooms. This was not the case here. My room was large and modern looking. You can tell that there'd been a major renovation as even the bathroom was modern (albeit small). My window looked out to the neighboring Union building, so not much of a view. The building's layout means that some rooms look out to other rooms. The bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows from which to choose. I had a nice desk, large cushy chair, a refrigerator (definitely a bonus!), and a full closet (another rarity in some of the older hotels). Overall the room was very comfortable.

Besides the comfort of the bed, another thing I judge hotels on is the quality of the shower. I like a) hot water, b) good water pressure, and for bonus points c) one of those shower rods that are curved to give you extra room to move around. Positive scores on all three! The negative was that my shower didn't properly drain, so I was quickly standing in a few inches of water (pretty gross :-( ).

I also made extensive use of the fitness center. The equipment is in good shape, consisting of treadmills, ellipticals, bikes, weight machines, and free weights. There is an area to stretch and do floor workouts. It's also the only exercise facility I've used that has a fireplace (apparently owning the fact that it used to be a private club). Another nice touch was the refrigerated towels. Loved them!

While the hotel shows signs of major renovation, I feel it's due for another round of improvements. A lot of the carpet in the hallways is worn and soiled. Some of the furniture in my room was showing signs of having seen better days. The exterior of the hotel could use a good power washing. It wasn't bad enough to prevent me from staying again.

And the location is great. It's across the street from a small park, and close by tons of restaurants and an easy walk to the convention center.

Word of warning: internet is *not* free. However, if you sign up for their loyalty program, you get complimentary basic WiFi, which was more than adequate for my needs.

I would definitely stay again. Nice hotel in a great city!

Went to have dinner tonight.... But sadly they closed the beautiful Terrace Room for Dinners as of Jan 1st.... The sent us to the Taphouse Louge (Bar) walked in and walked right back out.... So much for the Omni....

Nice place, great staff and cleaning crew. My only complaint is the lack of parking. If the hotel is not going to provide free parking, they should at least discount the rate of the public parking garage.

Beautiful place, but our check in time was 3pm and our room was ready at 6pm. You cant connect to wifi using your phone because the website wont redirect you. The building is outstanding but the customer service is lacking. Just go to Motel 6

We had dinner at The Terrace Room before attending a show at the Byham Theater. Our entrees were very good, but our desserts were not as good. The room is beautiful, but there were hardly any other customers. It seemed like they had abundant staff, but they were either hovering nearby or couldn't be found at all. Service this time was not as good as the first time we ate here, which was disappointing.

This is a terrible hotel!!! I am so confused how anyone could give this place 5 stars. The highlight is the staff where half are pleasant and the others are incompetent/rude. The room is tiny and tired with a bakers dozen of bugs in the bathroom lighting. Save yourself $, time and dissapointment - DO NOT stay here.

This is a comfy hotel though some of the hall way carpets need to be steam cleaned. They looked a little grungy. This a probably a minor complaint. The staff as great and we enjoyed our stay.

This was one of our favorite stops on our trip. The hotel is conveniently located off the expressway, although we did get a bit turned around when we arrived pulling into the rear of the hotel instead of the front. Every employee who helped us during our stay was extremely polite and accommodating. Due to the weather we spent our evening in the hotel.

We started at the Speak Easy, located downstairs. It is a place where one can step back into the past, straight into the 1920s. Here Dawn served up some of the best drinks we've ever had. She got a feel for our tastes and gave phenomenal suggestions that did not disappoint. The drinks were worth the extra pennies that we paid for both their tastes and the atmosphere.

We then went to the Terrace Room for dinner, a $100 value built into our Romantic package. The meal was delicious. We had an artisan cheese plate and a shrimp/sausage gumbo to start. My husband raves about this gumbo. We had a chicken parmesan and NY steak strip for the main course. We topped off the night with a chocolate molten lava cake. The meal's success was primarily due to Nassim's superb service.

Our night ended with a quick walk to a few of the fountains near the hotel. When we returned to the room our turn down service had been executed and our chocolate covered strawberries, as well as champagne delivered shortly after our return.

Prior to leaving we also enjoyed breakfast as part of our package and the buffet spread was amazing. Elyas' service was also excellent.

We were thoroughly pleased with our experience and will look to stay at Omni Resorts in the future when possible.

Note: While they do have valet parking, I would recommend dropping your items off for check in and then parking in the structure right across the street for $5/night.

Extremely high rated, has fabulous rooms, meets all of our needs, and had many services available to us. We had a base room, it was quaint, one bed for the three of us, which was a little packed for a room they suggested that could be done for 3 people.

This is a review submitted via Google Opinion Rewards because the app detected I'd been inside the Omni William Penn. As I live in Pittsburgh, I've never stayed as a guest. However, I've been to the building a few times to visit businesses (there are business suites on a few floors). For that purpose, I certainly can't complain- there are plentiful elevators, clear signs, and amenities like vending machines in the hallways. The business suite floors have a bit of a sterile soulless feel (like any office building) but the lower floors are gorgeous.

Dont stay here! Stayed here 4 nights. The air conditioning never worked. The room was warmer then it was out side and the humidity was so high water was. Condensing on the windows and the bathroom floor. We complained numerous times and the hotel would not change the room or fix the air conditioning. The lobby ia beautiful the room was disgusting. This is a place you visit but never stay here. We wont be back.

Expected a quality stay. Always receive an exceptional experience. Period. The Omni staff went out of their way to provide a memorable oasis for our anniversary. This is not the first time we have enjoyed an anniversary at the Omni and we intend to be sure that it is not the last.

Good hotel, but I HATE the mercenary approach so common in US hotels where everything is extra. US hotels should emulate those in much of the world, eg including basics like breakfast in the room coats, etc. You need breakfast to start the day. Forcing customers to find a breakfast place is crazy.
