The staff was incredibly helpful and courteous. Unfortunately, my particular room 1045 was frustratingly small, the bathroom had zero counter space and I essentially had to step over the toilet to get to the shower. The TV was so large in relation to the room size and bed location, it wasn't possible to turn on and watch news or sports while going to bed without feeling like you are in the front row of an imax theater.

We arrived at our check-in time and we were told that our room wasn't ready. I questioned this and we were told that a select guest had a late check-out and they weren't sure when it would be ready. After showing my disappointment for a few minutes the manager came over and punched a few keys and made magic happen. The previous night we stayed at the Hampton which had better service, cleaner rooms and better amenities. This is 2017 and a "luxury" hotel makes you pay for WIFI??? Most of the staff was very nice and the food was very good.

I went to the Omni as my fiance's guest for a work Christmas party. The event was on the 17th floor in one of their many ballrooms. The hotel was very historic and the rooms were beautiful and extremely detailed. Seemed like it would be a great place for a wedding.

The staff was very rude. The luxury was not luxurious. Supposedly when booking through a third party the room choice is merely a suggestion, so we were given a room with two double beds rather than a queen. However the hotel staff seemed to blame me for this... So we had to push the beds together... And they wouldn't even help us do that... Good customer service knows that the customer is never wrong, takes responsibility for a problem and apologizes rather than cast blame on the customer. I'll never stay at an Omni hotel again in my life and I don't recommend this hotel. Absolutely awful. The Fairmont or Kimpton are a much better choice.

Beautiful historical property with old world charm and service. We were attending a conference and stayed for 3 nights. We loved the Terrace Room and Christopher was our favorite waiter. Very friendly and knowledgeable and went above and beyond to help my friend with food allergies. An excellent experience overall. We did not want to leave. Also the beds and pillows are amazing.

Excellent stay in a beautiful historic hotel. Check in was quick but not friendly so that was odd. But room was comfortable and clean. Asked for a mini fridge that they brought up right away. Loved the little touches like bathrobe and cotton swabs. Very quiet and couldn t hear other guest noise, just my mini fridge and AC. Lovely view of the city and fountains. Shower had amazing water pressure but toilet was slow for some reason. Bed was fine but pillows were feather-like so I wished I brought my own. Housekeeping was so kind - thank you!

Wish I could ve had the high tea which sounded fun!
Would definitely stay again.

A four-star hotel at least deserves a 4-star rating, but NOPE!! While the exterior leaves you yearning to see the inside, you are left disappointed!! Old pipes, lead to brown water everytime I showered. NO BUENO!! I travel a lot for work, I see a lot of hotels; Omni ranks amongst the lowest. Sorry. They only credited me one night!! Should have fought for two free nights. The hotel smells old and ancient. The lobby gives you an Old Hollywood feel, something I actually liked. Would I stay here again!!?? Probably not!

The only drawback to the hotel was the room we stayed in, it was close to the HVAC and you could here it run.
The Starbucks downstairs was little busy bust staff was great. If you in a hurry I do recommend putting in a mobile order if you re going first thing in the morning between 7am-8am.

If you book through a third party, they may not honor your reservation. Booked a king room, upon checkin they gave two double beds. Went back downstairs and was told only a Queen room was available. No apologies, they didn t care. Also, the Queen room has a plastic bag over a fixture on the ceiling, screams luxury.

I was visiting a friend who was staying at the hotel. I love the historic, grand atmosphere provided. It's in superb condition and beautiful to behold. The rooms were spacious and provided ample room for five young adults to talk and socialize.

Great historic hotel. Too expensive for what you get. Had extra charge applied to our bank account after the extra charged was corrected at check out and were promised it would not be charged. Ruined the experience we had. Tap Room experience was good as well as the food

We had a rather large party for tea time. It was a little troublesome that they accept cash only, considering they are one of the biggest hotels in downtown Pittsburgh. Also, our server wasn't the most pleasant person but we had a pretty good time, nonetheless. Tea was decent and the finger foods were delicious.

Arrived after 8pm on a Friday and I was surprised that most businesses near the hotel was closed. Maybe it's Pittsburgh or the neighborhood? You'll have to walk if you want anything outside of the hotel restaurants. Huge rooms but not very modern. Brunch ran out of smoked salmon at 11am. This hotel has at least twelve elevators. Affordable overnight parking directly across the street. Hotel bar. View from 902.

Since my late mother's toddler years in the early 1920s, and my childhood in the 1950s, The William Penn remains our family's No. 1 hotel for overnight stays and events. In 1973, I moved to New York, and when I am visiting in Pittsburgh (on average twice each year) from Chicago, I almost always stay at my second home in The Burgh. Recently family and I estimated my 100+ stays over nearly 500+ nights at the William Penn. One cannot ask for much more in terms of comfort that comes with the grand-old (yet sufficiently modern) elegance and professional service of this gem. I love this place. So will you.
