My wife and I chose to stay here for our 1st anniversary. Our toilet wouldn't flush but after I informed the front desk, they were very helpful in getting us another room which was a suite for no charge. Also the Terrace room in the hotel, where we ate for dinner and breakfast, was delicious and the service was fantastic. I highly recommend this hotel for any occasion.

This is a beautiful classic hotel, particularly now that it has become a member of the Omni family. We were particularly impressed with the quality of the bedding and the service which we received.

Staff are awesome but building is too old, water in the shower is actually visibly brown, carpets are dirty, WiFi is too expensive (yeah they say it's free ) location is ok, parking is expensive and tight. Showers leak and make noise all night, and bathrooms are so small

A beautiful hotel centrally located and I want badly to rate it 5 stars, but with no indoor pool, or parking partnership with any of the nearby garages, which I consider necessities in terms of amenities, I cannot squeeze out that last star.

Efficient, friendly, discreet from the front desk to the Starbucks staff! The water pressure in the shower was incredible. We slept without disturbance. Access to anything we needed was available!

We just got back from the Omni William Penn, and I don't know what ticked off the zero star reviewers, but obviously they didn't get some free perk they thought they deserved. Our room (double) was spacious, recently updated, and very comfortable. The staff we dealt with were friendly and professional. Our only negatives were the lack of a pool (kids' request) and parking options, although you can self-park in the city lot across the street overnight. The food in the hotel is pricey for a family, but there are affordable options in the same block for breakfast, and you can walk to every restaurant in the downtown area in 10 minutes, We have been to many high-end hotels, and this is truly a solid four-star hotel.

I was in Pittsburgh for a few days visiting museums and sites near the Omni William Penn so I decided to stay there. My 8th floor room and bathroom were clean and well-appointed and the shower with its rain forest shower head accompanied by good water pressure was worth the price of the room alone. My bed overwhelmed me in comfort to the point that it was difficult for me to move. The hotel's Terrace Room had an extensive and excellently prepared breakfast buffet that included items for the health and diet conscious. Parking is easily accessed directly across the street from the hotel. Valet parking is only necessary if your travel is heavy laden. Mine was not. Various occupancy taxes total 14% on the final bill.

Best hotel I've ever stayed at. Great customer service, super friendly staff, elegant looking hotel (feels as if you were in a hotel in the 1920's), great dinner ordered through room service (delicious and reasonably priced), and self parking in the Mellon Garage across the street is pretty reasonable as well ($14 a day on weekdays, $5 on weekends). Would recommend to anyone staying in downtown Pittsburgh!

Great rooms, amenities and price of rooms. WAY overpriced breakfast buffet, alcoholic drinks and food. These prices made it unrealistic to stay and eat and drink in hotel or enjoy breakfast in the morning on site. We were forced to leave hotel to simply eat and drink.

This is a grand hotel with spacious rooms. Staff is overall very friendly. Be aware that the valet parking service is expensive and the bell staff is overbearing (really begging for those tips). Ate brunch at the Terrace Room-big mistake. The service was painfully slow (and the place was practically empty). Had to ask for butter, spoons, etc. Coffee was cold even over several refills. Not impressed.

Great friendly service - free upgrade and free wifi just by asking on a not so busy weekend. Beautiful entrance, 12 elevators won't slow you down, decent quality rooms - not exactly modern, but that may be a pro.

A Grand Hotel in Pittsburgh. Downtown location convenient to shopping, restaurants, business centre. Grand lobby and main level dining room. Terrific brunch offerings! Rooms were clean and modern. Halls were bright and expansive feeling. Did not really explore all the amenities on the main level because past the gift shop it felt like a series of small spaces leading nowhere or to a closed off room. Many conveniences on site as you would expect from a hotel of this vintage and scale. Parking garage opposite Mellon Square with valet service available. The William Penn Place entry reminded me of The Peninsula in NYC because of the stairs you need to climb to reach the lobby. Great, friendly staff. Good for families, couples, business people.

Full disclosure, I have never stayed the night here. But I absolutely adore hanging out. It's such a lovely environment with a welcoming energy and a great place to read a book and enjoy a cocktail or a cup of coffee from the adjacent Starbucks.

Delightful! I can't wait to come back for our 50th Anniversary in 2 years! The lobby was beautiful & very festive! I loved the gingerbread Hotel & will share pictures with our friends back home in North Carolina! Thank you!

Beautiful hotel. Clean & well-appointed room, without much (if any) extra space. Nice fitness center. Good restaurants & room service. Convenient walk to convention center, cultural district locations, & Duquesne University.

Found hair strands on my pillow and sheets. Fortunately I am only staying one night here because I found not one but two strands of hair on the pillow and sheet of the bed they gave me. Seemingly an outstanding hotel but, upon further evaluation, the maintenance and room service personnel are just like any other less than 1 star motel service. Sad to see such a storied hotel fall to this kind of carelessness.

The Farm Table lunch in the Terrace Room was fantastic. Very reasonably priced and the service was excellent! The gym has free weights and a larger that average variety of machines for a hotel gym. Including leg machines. There are also sets of kettle bells ranging from 5 to 40 lbs and medicine balls for core workouts. Very clean hotel. The rooms are smaller (typical of historic hotels) but nicely appointed with great amenities. In the heart of downtown. I can't wait to stay here again!

I have some mixed emotions about the William Penn ...

I have some mixed emotions about the William Penn Hotel. First, I love Pittsburgh, have family there and bleed black and yellow. Go Pens/Steelers. I love the fact they allowed my dog Heinz to stay with us. There is a dog park of sorts near valet. The hotel is historic, has beautiful architecture, rooms are nice. Room rate was good for Thanksgiving week, $99/day. Starbucks, burgers bagels, and tiny gift shop etc. with inside access to the hotel. (Prepare to pay 2-3 times cost, inside hotel, or pack your own snacks & drinks). They have 24 /hr room service. The spinning doors almost decapitated my dog so watch out for that, my fault. Gym. No pool. Free wi-fi lobby only. Valet was so nice and took great care with our vehicle, however, it was $35 extra/day plus tip (with parking). The downtown location is great, a block from McDonald's, Jimmy Johns, Rite-aid and Burlington. Hotel is 2-3 blocks from PPG paints arena, yet penguins games are only viewable in tavern street level, not in the room. They have drink machines but do not take change or cash? Cards only?? The worst part, and it's not really their fault (they try to keep them away from guests/hotel/street) but homeless bums (God Bless Em) pace around a triad of 3 nice hotels begging tourists for money (and do they have some sad "stories" to tell). It can be downright scary. I carried my pocket knife outside to walk dog/ smoke. The valet guys run them off and watch out for guests, but they are working too. Almost everything in the city closes 6-8 pm so after our pens game I had to order room service to feed my kids. It was meh for the cost. The people that work there are so nice and will do just about anything to keep you happy. They really care, it seems. Things within their control they do well at. We had fun. We enjoyed it. I would stay there again, only if I can watch the pens from my room, that's a deal breaker! You could stream but they also charge for wi-fi in your room $15/day.

Uniqueness and Elegance is the theme for this Grand Hotel. Every room is different with each having it's own quirk to its design layout. The chandeliers in the grand entrance are an absolute must see, simply stunning. Great friendly personable staff and very accommodating.

A beautiful older hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh. The rooms were exceptionally clean and comfortable. The hotel has good food options at reasonable prices and it is within walking distance of the Pirates' and Steelers stadiums.

Centrally located accommodations with great staff. The rooms, while older, are still quite nice. Girl parking isn't cheap, do consider it posting nearby! Restaurant and bar codes are both onsite and nearby. This is definitely a place that I would consider staying at again.

Lovely hotel with up to date furnishings that does not diminish from its historical character. The price for the room was a bargain, why anyone would stay else where in the city is beyond me or reason.

Absolutely lovely hotel. The architecture is astonishing. The service was great. My only wish is that the rooms had better lighting options. They are very dark and there was no way to illuminate it for working.

Attended a two day summit at the hotel this week. The hotel is absolutely gorgeous and like stepping back into the guilded age. The service was very good, the facilities we'll set up and stocked and the event went off perfectly.

My visit was for a fun weekend in Pittsburgh. Terrific historic hotel with lots of elegance. Clean room. Attentive and very helpful staff. Fast and tasty room service breakfast. I like this hotel so much, this was my 2nd pleasure stay in 9 months. Highly recommend.

I spent the weekend at the Omni William Penn while my husband was running the Pittsburgh Marathon. The location is among the best in the city, with a lot of things to walk to. We even walked to PNC for the Pirates game. The room was large and comfortable.

The staff was amazing. My toddler son got a stomach bug, so we had housekeeping come in to change the sheets on the bed. Within five minutes after she finished, we got a call from room service offering to send up some ginger ale for him. Then the front desk called later that afternoon to check on how he was feeling. Great service!

One note, however, Root Sports is NOT on their television lineup. If you come into town and want to watch a Pirates game on TV, you won't be able to. That is honestly my only complaint.

Can't say enough good things about the hotel! The staff, the restaurants, the ambiance is all top of the line. I LOVED the Rodeo' Collection gift shop! Mary Jo was a great help for an anniversary gift for myself!
Only 4 stars because of the older heating/ air system. I came home with a bacterial infection in MY lungs!

Location is everything and Omni Penn is the hotel to be in .Love the decor , the rooms where clean, the front desk very nice and concierge very helpful. The breakfast at the Tavern in the hotel was very good ( buffet). I will be staying at the Omni next time I'm in town. Love it!!!

Excellent hotel with a rich history, but in some areas seems to be running on the fumes of its past glory. The staff was efficient and friendly. Our room was very affordable and spectacularly comfortable (we had the one king-sized bed configuration). The main lobby is extremely nice: people lounging and chatting in a relaxing atmosphere. We enjoyed the Tap Room (sports bar style eatery). The 'Terrace Room' (main dining room) has recently closed and is now only used for events. There is a small seating area outside the Terrace Room which still operates as a restaurant but the atmosphere is a little weird since you're basically sitting in the lobby of the hotel; it doesn't really feel like a restaurant. All in all though, we liked it a lot.

We had meetings here, I didn't stay here overnight as a guest. It was old & artsy, in a good way. Lots of comfy places to sit and relax/mingle. The attached Starbucks is large and has lots of seating with lots of light. There are lots of elevators. The employees were very helpful & informative.
