You will enjoy a good night's sleep in their EXCEPTIONAL beds. You will have great dining options, friendly staff, easy parking at a fair price next door. Most definitely stay at this gem!

Good old historical hotel. We stayed during the A 10 basketball tournament. Staff seemed to accommodate the many fans and the business conference simultaneously. Overall good service and accommodations. Just don't go in the winter months, very drafty
Went to the Speakeasy, phenomenal service, amazing drinks
Always a favorite place to stay. Friendly workers and always smiling faces! My son came for the first time and loved it. The cookie and milk were a nice touch on our first night!
Location was awesome. Room was reasonably clean except for a stain on my blanket. Checked me in very early for which I was exceptionally thankful and let me check out late. Overall experience was 4/5. Their bar program needs some work but management handled it appropriately.
The Omni William Penn is a fabulous resort with top notch service. The rooms were clean and the beds were very comfortable. The staff there went above and beyond expectations. Would recommend to anyone visiting downtown Pittsburgh.
Grand Hotel, great staff and location to everything downtown. Might could use a little updating but a grand old place.
Reneged on military rate after hotel was booked. Recommend that veterans and active duty find another hotel that honors its policy 100% of the time rather than profit off the backs of those who serve or served. Waited 30 minutes for my car because the operator failed to call the valet staff. Never received my car in less than 15 minutes. Omni says 10 minutes. Room was located next to an HVAC or generator that made sleeping difficult. Thermostat was funky- cold then warm in the middle of the night. Due to the sound and the warm nights- sleeping was next to impossible. I ve had a better experiences at three and four star hotels. The William Penn was by far the worst experience I ve had with a luxury hotel. Would recommend some of the newer hotels in Pittsburgh, as Omni seems to only care about the profit- not the guest.
Last thing- after filling out the Omni survey I was asked to leave a comment on google. Clicked the link and the Omni site wouldn t take me to the google comments. I m sure that s another way they try to stifle dissatisfaction.
Good 5 -star hotel, though had big rumors about being haunted
Friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The atmosphere was interesting, and felt authentic to the theme. Even the elevators were quick. Bathroom was neat. Shower had plenty of pressure and heat. Free street parking over the weekend made for a great getaway weekend!
Had a company Christmas party in the Grand Ballroom on the 17th floor. The food was amazing as was the atmosphere!
The tap room was jammed, but they make a good drink
This is a wonderful place to relax and enjoy your weekend.
I spent the night here with a friend and while I was there the staff were wonderful and friendly.
Nice historic hotel. $15 for a glass of wine in the lobby bar is a little ridiculous though.
The room on the 11th floor was nice , clean..,modern bath felt great
Came here for a conference. The hotel staff was very attentive and friendly. The hotel, despite its age, manages to keep its old world charm while modernizing tiny details that don't detract from the personality of the hotel. Note, elevators are very small, which is normal for the era, but numerous. I think I counted 10-12 elevators.
One of the most beautiful, classy and elegant hotels I've stayed at. Too many good things to say about this hotel.
The heart of Pittsburgh: elegant and venerable but also welcoming. Meet for tea in the impeccably restored lobby, a memorable dinner in the main restaurant, or just coffee in the best Starbucks in the city.
I highly recommend the spinach wrap with sweet potato fries. So delish and plant based!!
Comfortable rooms, quiet, right in the middle of the city.
We had a small informal meeting at the seating area of the lobby. Drinks were fantastic
Excellent staff and service. Rooms were flawless cleaned and maintained. Valet and bellmen were excellent as well!
In the heart of downtown. A classic upscale hotel. Right value.
The bar attendant was pleasent and attentive. The food was good and the drinks were cold. Tried the chicken sandwich.
Beautiful Mellon Square Garden across the street. Great staff.
Immaculate decor, clean lobby and rooma, professional and courteous staff.
One of my absolute favorite wedding venues in Pittsburgh! It's always a pleasure to work with their team (coordinators, servers, chefs - you name it!). Their weddings and events are classic and elegant, just like the hotel. My wedding couples and their guests appreciate the old-world vibe of the hotel, classy rooms, and ample locations for wedding photos in and around the property.
The Omni William Penn Hotel has a very nice banquet hall for social events. It seems like a very nice upscale place for those sorts of events. My experience was a very nice one, the staff was very pleasant and the food was fairly good. My only complaint was that somehow everyone was told to be there 45 minutes before the banquet area was supposed to be ready. This mistake could have been either my groups planning or the hotel, however, I don't believe who's fault it is matters. The reason this was inconvenient was because the staff asked everyone that was in the dining area to leave so everyone was packed into hallways and there was some confusion as to where people had been sitting and drinking from water that had been placed before the being asked to leave.
Nice staff, slightly uncomfortable beds. Beautiful hotel.
This place is charming! 1920's feel and updated upscale rooms! Love the easy access to the parking garage, amazing bath robes and plush bedding! A must stay once if ever in Pittsburgh!!!
An older hotel, but still classic. Clean, old world. The bagel shop and Tap Room were awesome. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Even my kids loved it.
I've held two conferences at their facilities and was impressed by their quality and service each time. They had the facilities we needed and were willing to work with us with any extra needs. I was glad we choose this hotel for our venue both times.
Met friend at tap room for lunch. Food and service as expected from an upscale venue. Maybe slightly pricey for the food ($16 for a chicken Cesar salad), but not outrageous.
Excellent. Friendly and professional staff full of help.
A truly grand experience with a steinway and pianist in the lobby, concierge service, valey, and an amazing restaurant and dining room. Rooms of every kind flooded with sunlight. It is amazingly 1930's chic but maintained to every safety code. I highly recommend.
It was okay, I do not like that there was no free internet and the room fridge didn't work.
Nice room! Great staff! Poor parking! You have to either valet for $36 a night or park in the garage for 19. They should have parking passes for their guests, especially given the price of the rooms!
Great atmosphere and service. Went for the afternoon tea. It was okay. It didn't live up to my expectations. The tea was good, but the food not so much. The hot chocolate was watery.
Very good service. Amazing table to table rush *****
A fantastic hotel of history and opulence in Pittsburgh. Courteous staff. Easily walk to downtown stores and museums from the Omni.
Excellent service, and an outstanding breakfast buffet, in a beautiful and historic building.
Stopped after a work function for a drink with co-workers and found the Speakeasy. We had delicious drinks made by a fantastic bartender named Dawn. It was the perfect end to a great evening.
My schools graduation ceremony is held in the grand ballroom every year. The staff dies an excellent job accommodating our needs.
The Omni William offered first rate service with a smile. As an Omni preferred guest, I received a complimentary beverage of choice (coffee, tea or juice) and a delicious mini muffin. Attending a conference at the convention center, I was busy every moment but can't wait to look up the story of this historic (well kept) hotel.
Went for drinks on a Tuesday night after an Avs/Pens game. Friendly and quick service, cool crowd, nobody seemed to mind that we were the only ones wearing jerseys.
Beautiful hotel! The hotel staff was fantastic. The rooms were great, a little cold, but considering it's summer, not the worst problem. The fitness area was spacious, clean and always open. Really enjoyed my stay. First time in Pittsburgh for a conference. Will definitely be back!!
Nice place but was disappointed in our room... Very small. For the price, I expected more
Check this place out along with the rest of the city
Beautiful place with some very interested history. Be sure to make your way down to the SpeakEasy. Also make sure to walk around to the back of the lobby to see all the historical stuff in the various display cases. Very cool history of the William Penn.
The hotel lobby was grand and spacious. It had an older feel, but the room was extremely comfortable. The only complaint I would have is the lack of free WiFi, especially because the price to stay a night in the hotel is on the higher end.
This historic hotel is beautiful, full of craftsmanship and charm. I felt like i was living in another time. The rooms are a nice size, well appointed. The bed was very comfortable. Hotel staff were excellent. I would recommend.
The food was amazing. Had breakfast and the service was great.
Rating this 3 stars because that's what it is, a 3 star hotel. The classic building is great but the Omni has managed to make it completely souless. Service was lacking and anonymous. Nothing wrong with this hotel but you would be better off with one of Pittsburghs other amazing boutique or 5 star hotels.
Lovely antique, establishment. Comfy bed, in centre city location, within walking to most venues, close to T.
Didn't stay here overnight but even a coffee in the lobby of an experience!!
This is a beautiful property. The rooms were very nice and the beds were comfortable. We loved the location. Easy walking distance to many shops,,restaurants and venues. Access to the T was perfect! We loved our stay.
Lavish hotel in downtown Pittsburgh. Stayed here for a wedding and felt like I was trash compared the normal clientele. 5 star all the way.
Place was very hot and all they did was blow a floor fan into the room not in the room. Needed to shut heat off or serve coffee during not just at dinner to stay awake from the heat. Food was very good
It is a very elegant and comfortable hotel. It is located downtown and there are many options for food and entertainment. The service is good.
Great Hotel, nice food and good service.
Points of attention:
- Should inform your email address during check-in so that the Internet access is free, otherwise they'll charge for it.
- They don't offer shuttle service to the airport.
- If you need to contact them in advance (by email), allow a few days for them to respond (maybe a week).
- If you're in a budget avoid taking the cabs (too expensive). The Hotel concierge will help you with bus ride planning, which should be ok for most places.
