Elegant and extravagant full service luxury hotel....
Elegant and extravagant full service luxury hotel. Very friendly staff and nice accommodations however its main entrance makes it somewhat difficult to maneuver the city.

Beautiful building, large rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Drinks in the bar are expensive. They don't know what an old fashioned should taste like.
Great central downtown Pittsburgh hotel. Starbucks in the lobby. Restaurant bar in the lobby as well.
Very nice historic hotel. Rooms are small, but the property is beautiful. Great downtown location.
The Omni is a great hotel. We have been there a few times and it is always a very enjoyable experience. The atmosphere is very classic but even with the old time feel the rooms still have updated features like you would expect from a new hotel. We will definitely go back.
Awesome hotel to stay in Pittsburgh downtown... this hotel is a historical one..
It started off with us checking in. The lady didn't know what she was doing and charged my wife's card, but said it was declined. We checked with the bank and they did take the money out. Next, we asked for an ice bucket and extra towels, and they didn't come till the next morning when we asked again. Our last night we had to leave because my wife had these tiny dots on her upper torso, and we believed to have found an actual bed bug. The manager apologized, buy never made any attempt to compensate us. Despite us leaving at 1am because of the issue. He did offer another room, but who wants to wake up our children, pack up and move there for 3 hours of sleep?? Never Again!
Cool old style hotel. Shower had near boiling water at full hot.
Had coffee at the Starbucks and pooped in the hotel mens room. Very nice.
Beautiful hotel. Everything is in excellent condition.
Great environment and the staff is out of this world.
So beautiful l, and has a Starbucks! The service was great as well! Had a suite on the 15th floor. Would most CERTAINLY RECOMMEND. Such a beautiful, classy, old fashioned hotel.
Hotel has a nice history. Multiple add-on charges to the service. Great lobby. Center on the business district.
My favorite hotel in Pittsburgh!! Stay here whenever I can.
Great location downtown with nearby shops and restaurants. Room was a little small.
Rooms are comfortable but drinks at the bar are over priced
practical well placed convenient hotel Wif Fi could be better
Stay at the Omni in Pittsburgh is always a great time. They have good service and a decent fitness area to get a good workout in. My son was happy to have seen the easter bunny on Easter. Everyone working there is friendly and respond quickly to assistance when asked.
Stayed here for a trip to see the Avalanche play the Penguins. Hotel was well located for a walk to the stadium. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Would stay here if I ever have to go to Pittsburgh again.
My favorite place to stay in Pittsburgh! Every stay is new since they have so many different room layouts. The lobby is always busy with people and the staff is friendly and helpful. I ve never had a bad stay!
Wonderful place. I attended a friends daughter's wedding here.
Awesome hotel experience. No free WiFi in the rooms, yet there is in the Lobby.
Had a lovely time at William Penn on light up night. Room was beautiful.
The overall experience was very good and a good value for the price. The room was a litle dated but clean. The staff was friendly and attentive. I was there for a wedding and the venue was beautiful. Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired.
Hotel is very nice and clean and the lobby is beautiful
This was my third visit to Pittsburgh and my first time staying at Omni William Penn. The service was professional and friendly, the rooms were beautifully decorated, and we had a very memorable stay. We can't wait to visit again!
Love the William Penn Hotel. clean updated rooms, great lobby, great access to downtown, and great fitness center. Highly recommended
When we checked in, the woman who took care of us did not give us any info as to where our room was or how to get there, but simply gave us our keys. When we found our room, there was an engineer in the room fixing the broken blinds, who said they weren't supposed to check anyone into this room yet. The room was nice, but the bathroom had hard water stains on the wood beneath the sink ledge and on the walls. The bathroom door handle did not return to the closed position and had to be turned closed again after shutting the door. Overall I am disappointed in the quality of my stay, given the reputation and quality of this hotel.
Not one of Omni's better efforts. The building is really starting to show it's age.
9th floor has plumbing issue which causes very loud pipe rattling
The location is convenient for the downtown area. The lobby was plush and felt really special. Our room was spacious and clean. We had breakfast at the hotel and my husband really enjoyed the buffet. I was jealous not to get it! We would definitely recommend.
Very caring staff, sweet people. And the survey shows they care
Overall a good experience with a few quirks. Couldn't find valet upon arrival (it was midnight but no one was around). Did not get housekeeping the next day (but called at 5pm and someone did make up the room). Had internet charges on the bill (but once I reminded them of my select membership they adjusted it and stated they didn't know why that was even on there). But the room was comfortable. Hotel is interesting. Convenient location
Beautiful hotel with a ton of history, loved the decor and enjoyed the room.
Classic hotel, but lacks some amenities that would make it truly outstanding (such as a pool, cool bar, or top notch service). It is a beautiful property and has a classic feel, worth staying at, but a couple small changes could make it so much better.
Looked at this hotel as a potential spot to host my upcoming wedding. The available parts of the hotel are very dated
Beautiful historic hotel with fabulous customer service. In a great location right the heart of Downtown Pittsburgh so everything is easy to get to. The hotel has plenty of awesome amenities including a full Starbucks inside the hotel! Would stay here again.
Very nice hotel in the middle of Downtown Pittsburgh. Great food and drinks all around the area.
The location was good but the parking was expensive - $19 at the cheapest. Check-in was easy and the staff was boderline-aggressively friendly. We were on the 16th floor and I'm fairly certain there was no air conditioning in the hallway. It was miserable to walk from the elevator to the room. The room itself was nice, very well decorated, with two bay windows. The design of the hotel is odd, like an uppercase E, which doesn't lend to many rooms with decent views, but we were lucky in that if you sat in the windowsill you did have a good view of the DoubleTree across the street. We were very happy with the hotel..until bedtime. I have never slept on a less comfortable bed. I can only imagine that the mattress is the original from when the hotel opened in 1916. The main problem was that the bed rolled in towards the right so that most of the left side was unusable. The lesser problems were too numerous to name. My children originally planned to sleep in the other bed but my daughter pushed the two cushioned benches together to make a makeshift cot and left my other kid to fend for himself in the other probably-centennial bed. Check out was the exact opposite of check in. I got an email around 2am that advised me to click the checkout button and drop my keys in the drop box on the way out the door. No one said goodbye to us. I wouldn't stay again.
The William Penn Hotel is absolutely beautiful. There is a real speakeasy, a tap room, gift shops, and also a well-equipped gym. In the morning you can grab coffee from a starbucks in the main lobby. Hotel access allows you to enter and leave from any side of the building before, and the parking garage is fairly close for those driving into Pittsburgh. All in all my stay was excellent, however I did encounter one rude staff member.
Checked in and not at all what we had expected after staying in Omni hotels around the globe. We were gifted a groupon deal and the room type was advertised, city view and we were staring at the side of a building no view on the 9th floor. Also, wi-fi was not included. Check-in said ...there are no city views in this hotel . Parking garage was full, forcing you to use valet parking, but at least it wasn t expensive. Rooms only have one robe standard so you have to request a second. There is peeling paint, stains on bedspread, and for a deluxe double room it is super tiny! I m shocked at the high rating this hotel has received it definitely is not up to Omni standards elsewhere, but maybe for Pittsburgh city this is as good as it gets!?!
I was at the venue for and event. It was super cold and they lacked a good HVAC system. Venue lacks a connected sound system as well.
Beautiful room, great brunch and very clean. In the heart of the city so you can walk to all the night life.
Ideal location in downtown Pittsburgh! The staff was friendly and professional. I had a great room that was comfortable, immaculately clean, and well-furnished.
Good size room. Clean and updated. The only issue is the extras like 9.95 per day for internet and 3 dollars to use iron spray.
First rate accommodations. Close to the stadiums, museums, shopping. The most friendly, helpful, professional staff. Beautiful, historic hotel - you wont be disappointed
What an awesome hotel! Very old, very historic. Rather your passing through or have a chance to stay here, it is very neat. The design and architecture is very luxerious as well.
Came for a convention and it was wonderful! The staff is kind and extremely helpful, rooms and amenities are clean, spacious, and suited our needs quite well. The hotel is also located conveniently to locations we needed to visit downtown. We were able to walk most places and find alternate transport when we couldn't.
Very nice and historic hotel in a great location downtown.
Good location, the set up of the hotel is a tad confusing
I will give my wedding 5 stars, and my stay 4.5.
My wedding in the Grand Ballroom was exactly what I had been dreaming of since I was a little girl. Darlene Coons and Rachel Giraud are a dream to work with. The service we received from start to end was exceptional. If you are considering having a wedding at the Omni, do it.
We also stayed on the 16th floor Friday, July 19th to Sunday, July 21st. Everything was great, minus the temperature. It was one of the hottest weekends of the summer, and our entire floor was overly warm. It's an older building, and maintenance tried to cool things off, but they could only do so much.
The room was great, except for the fact that the rooms only had wifi if you paid extra
Nice spacious well furnished room and friendly staff. What more could I ask for on a short trip.
Enjoyed the location and the rooms! We are eager to return in the spring!
A lot of carpeting was dated. Our rooms were not clean and when we asked to be moved the staff was not courteous but did honor our request.
Haunted as sh*t! for that I find it amazing! I was not a believer in the paranormal prior, and I never want another experience with that stuff again! Whatever it is, I dont think it is evil, but I am forever changed after what we endured over the course of about 4 hours.
Very lovely hotel conveniently located in the heart of the city. Lots of places to go within walking distance. Room is very clean and tidy with a wonderful bed!
Extremely impressed with the hotel quality and even more impressed with the way the hotel staff treats me. They're wonderful - each and everyone of them go out of their way to make sure you are pleased regardless if you are their least posting guest or most paying guest.
Beautiful and detailed older hotel. Restaurant has an excellent breakfast buffet and it's convenient to have the Starbucks next to the lobby. Room was standard king room and had everything you'd need. Even a fridge!
best lobby in the city for people watching , go at christmas for lunch , feels like old time downtown!
The rooms were great and had a beautiful view of Mellon square.
Beautiful hotel. Super-friendly staff. Terrific eating options.
Great Historic hotel built over 100 years ago and had many wonderful functions.
Excellent service, food, clean and comfortable rooms and great location.downwtown.
This is the classiest hotel I've ever stayed in. Been getting a room here consistently every year. One year I had a random bell hop named Darryl stop me and my group and we struck up conversation. He ended up giving us a 15 minute tour of the building and it's history. Truly great staff and amazing rooms. You'd be foolish not to give the Omni a try!
Beautiful hotel. Big rooms and great staff. Will stay again. Parking is a little rough but worth it.
Great hotel but the bars and restaurants aren t amazing. The hours fluctuate WILDLY and they treat the customers as if they should know that. The front desk staff is kind and accommodating, but I can t say the same for the restaurant staff.
Clean and professional. Even when busy the staff were always happy to assist you. Great service every year, thank you!
It was lovely but I could hear the neighbors through the door that joined the rooms.
Great historical hotel in the heart of Pittsburgh. The entire facility is just gorgeous! Staff friendly and helpful. The valet, doormen especially so. Our room was comfortable and well appointed. The king bed perfect firmness. The shower...just amazing. Many older hotels struggle for water pressure and water warmth, not here...perfect!!
My only complaint and not enough for star removal would be for the extra cost of WiFi. This is a basic amenity these days and will cost you here. Otherwise a super experience. We'll be back when in town!
If you are here for pleasure, it's fine. For WiFi and business, it is awful. The WiFi only works best in the lobby. It doesn't work in the so called "business center" which is a money grab. $48 for 45 minutes and black & white prints. I could buy a printer for $50. Do not use it!! Go to Kinkos or Staples.
And the WiFi in the rooms, we were on the 15th floor, cut in and out. I noticed people sitting in the lobby on their phones or computers, that's because if you need a signal, that's the only reliable spot in the building.
Never again will I stay here. I have stayed at a Drury Inn by the Pittsburgh airport with better service.
Pros is the beautiful lobby.
Addl Con is the elevator doors kept closing and it was $38 for parking.
There are better options.
This was the worst hotel experience! It was like a frat party in my floor. I had security come at 3:30am to tell the parties to keep it down. The pub food and service was below par. NEVER AGAIN! Look are deceiving!
Of all the historic hotels I have seen, this is the best maintained. Great staff from valet to bellman, desk, & room maintenance. Rooms are different sizes and layouts. Our King suite was clean, roomy, great bed and chair, huge walk in closet, nice bath. We could even open our window (which was great as it was very warm and dry, even with the heat dialed down). Very comfortable. My wife used the gym and found it to be top notch. We didn't eat there, but others said the food and bar were very good. Overall, not inexpensive, but worth what you pay. Highly recommended.
