Went for the spa. The massages thankfully come with full access to sauna and whirlpool for the price. We didn't like too much the automatic gratuity but knew that from the website in advance and decdied to try it despite that. It is a very historical property which I like. I'll try and stay with the resort at some point in the future.

Awesome place! Pool is heated with waitress service. We spent two days there lounging at the pool with friends. Just short cab ride to downtown Scottsdale. Only flaw being T Cooks restaurant is closed for much needed renovations (dated). I looked forward to them reopening in the fall.

Check-in with a complimentary champagne was an amazing touch to start it all off. Beautiful property, super hospitable staff. Room was gorgeous and comfortable, pool area nice and relaxing. Views are amazing with beautiful grounds for a walk. Peaceful and perfect location for this type of resort. 4 Stars because the on-site restaurant should have been better and likely is. Prices at T.Cooks were in line and felt right for on-site dining at this level of resort (Approx. $300 for a couple 4-course dining with drinks & Tip) some food was great, but dispite the exciting menu, we found the food itself not-so.

Great casita, beautiful hotel and it would have gotten 5 stars if we didn't have to make two requests for a makeup mirror that should have been in the room and is listed as one of the amenities.

Beautiful resort and spa with a view and wonderful service. We did have a problem with our first room, however the staff had no problem with moving us quickly and efficiently. One of the better resorts I have been too!

We stayed here on a business trip in Scottsdale. Let me tell you, I really felt like I am saying over at my friends place. Staff was really friendly. Desiree was really professional always on top of everything making sure everything is in place and running smooth. Taylor, Karen, Jessica and Jen were some of the other staff members I met and I can't thank enough to them, making my stay so enjoyable. I will never forget their smiling faces.

From arrival onward, our stay was one of attentive indulgence. We enjoyed a glass of champagne at reception, a luxurious massage at the spa, and the attendants were always snappy with the valet service.

Went there for my grandma's 80th birthday, staff was helpful and friendly, food was excellent and got a good package deal. I've been there once before for my birthday and used the spa/massage, staff was wonderful and the entire experience was relaxing and rejuvenating. Great place!

It was OK, the quality of the Jamon Serrano was mediocre, the French toast was a bit.. Dry. And the bagels where kind of chewy. The place beautiful & spectacular but the food really could be better. Also you don't serve Jamon Serrano without tomato (pantumaca) and or olive oil in a so called Spanish inspired restaurant. To the American customer it means a lovely experience since they probable do not notice those details that are key in the Mediterranean, Spanish cousin.

We went off season, I don't know if that has anything to do with the reason I think it's way over pruced. Nothing to do there other than swim, and they have a workout room. The last time I ordered breakfast there, I couldn't eat it, it was horrible. And expensive. I made a coffee in my room, and the sugar had black dots in it

I have visited this hotel for the last five years. When I booked in October I requested a special room since I wanted extra space for a living room. When I got to my room I was disappointed because they changed the living room to a sectional couch for a full size bed. We have a bed and there are only two of us. Called the supervisor and she said they had changed all the rooms. However, the website still carries the picture of the old suite I wanted. She agreed to wave the $25 parking charge. This applies if you have a car or not. The second thing I was upset about was the resort charge.. Not because there is one but the contract said it goes to the employees. We asked the employees and they knew nothing about it. We tip anyway but to a guest this means I dont have to tip these people because it states they have already been tipped. To me both instances the room and the resort fee are misleading. If I ever go back to this hotel policy will have to be changed. You have a great property change your website for proper room views(the old is still there) and make sure guests know that tips dont go to employees. Lanelle Prettyman, Dallas

One of our favorite hotels in the U.S. The Royal ...

One of our favorite hotels in the U.S. The Royal Palms Resort is a paradise in the desert. The landscaping and property are an escape into a fantastic world, with hidden alcoves and seating areas. The rooms are comfortable and authentic. The staff (from valets, to front office staff, servers, housekeeping, etc.) are so wonderful and welcoming. The spa is a wonderful escape.

Our experiences at The Royal Palms helped convince us to relocate to Phoenix from the East Coast.

The only suggestion for the hotel is to limit the number of special events so as to not take away from the experience of the regular hotel guests. For example, during our most recent visit, the hotel hosted 3 simultaneous weddings with 900 extra guests in one night. Though the hotel staff seemed to handle it well, as guests of the resort, we felt that our experience was somewhat diminished by the influx of wedding guests.

This resort is breathtaking. My husband and I spent a weekend here recently and enjoyed every moment. The gardens throughout the property are beautiful and the staff are so friendly. It's expensive, but they often run specials during the summer.

The grounds are lovely and the staff is very nice, but the rooms are fairly dated. Overall a fine experience, but one which would have felt much better at a lower price point. If you want to spend this kind of money, there are better places to do it.

Used a Groupon for a spa day with my daughter. We had a massage, hung out by the pool and had great sandwiches at T Cook's. Had such a great time, I did it again with my mom and husband. We declared it caregiver spa day! This is a lovely location and the staff was exceptional.

I didn't get the pleasure to stay at the resort yet but had dinner at their TCook restaurant and walked around afterwards. The resort looked very private and romantic. I definitely plan to book on a special occasion.

Boy this is a tuff review to write because there were parts of the stay that were absolutely a 5 and then some that were a 2. Stayed in the beautiful historic section. Rooms were lovely but thermostat was just for looks. Couldn t adjust temperature at all. If you wanted to circulate air it was only hot air and temps were in the high 70s. Also no maid service at all one day. Food was fantastic. Staff was very prompt and friendly. Spa services were clearly a 5. Worst thing is that this is a quite, sophisticated resort and we were here for an end of the year holiday. The resort planned a New Year s Eve party - all good but for some insensitive reason someone decided it was a good idea to have a DJ blare loud music on the lawn until 2am. Glad the resorts sole focus on New Year s Eve was making money in the party and completely neglected their responsibility to their guests who declined to party until 2am. Called the front desk at 1:15 - music blared until 2am. Won t ever come back here because of their disrespect.

I was there for a dinner event in one of their conference rooms and had a wonderful time. The grounds are absolutely beautiful, as we strolled through some of the accessible areas. The rooms seemed to be spaced well, providing intimacy or privacy. The buffet dinner we were provided was very well displayed and just as delicious. I enjoyed the private drive and secluded valet parking. Very nice hotel that I look forward to returning to for a stay.

Wonderful experience. Hadn't returned for various reasons for almost nine years and the place is still as special as I remember it. Highly recommend as an alternative to the larger resorts in the area.

Been here multiple times and love the quaint building and gardens. Many quiet nooks and places to sit and relax. The staff are superb and even though it was more than 2 years since I last was here was recognized by the staff who greeted me like a long lost friend. Gloria is one of the staff who is kind and thoughtful. James is another. The staff here make it so special. They have been here for many years and I have enjoyed visiting this place. The views of Camelback mountain from many of the rooms is great.

We enjoyed our girls' trip here... Only complaint was there was only one pool & tons of young kids were there on the last 2 days. We didn't expect that from a resort & spa. An adult pool would be a nice addition.

Didn't stay at the resort so can't say anything about it but the surroundings are beautiful and quaint. We had dinner at T. Cook's and enjoyed the food, well at least I did. Had the sea bass which was very succulent, the sauce was perfect and grilled asparagus and veggies cooked to perfection. My husband on the otherhand ordered the lamb which he said had no flavor and sent back, got the short ribs which also had no flavor but by this time he didn't feel like returning another dish. Dessert was very good. Our server was nice but did not give us quite the amount of attention for a restaurant of this caliber and price range.

Start to finish! The staff, the beautiful property (gardens, fountains, and the views) were blissful. Stayed in a casita and it s was quite roomy. The service was first rate and food was excellent as well. really enjoyed the spa citrus scrub ritual with David and the bar experience after our T Cook s dinner Saturday night with Miguel the guitarist performing. Pool was super relaxing-busy enough to have good people watching but not over the top like some other resorts. Just a lovely romantic weekend all around.
