Powerscourt has a lot to offer. Built over generations, you ll find a family history, mansion and formal Irish gardens. Powerscourt is well organized, easy to get around and has a hotel and golf course in addition to the mansion and gardens. We stopped in to take a look at the hotel and would love to return to that elegance and beauty.
First we had lunch at the Avoca Terrace Cafe, the servings were generous and tasty. Then we walked the grounds while chatting about plants, trees and garden design. After, we toured the shops and fell in love with the Avoca textiles shop.

Travelled all the way there with my mother after booking tickets online for a few private photos just to find out it's a private property and photoshoots are not allowed. "Not even one", to directly quote the management. This is not stated anywhere. Not a single word in their terms & conditions or their privacy policy. Not a single sign on or in the building, not on the website. Ironically, the website promotes their social medias and even their Instagram hashtag. It even states that they warmly welcome filming, yet the manager won't even let us take a couple of pictures. Absurd. Wasted a good amount of resources on preparation and travel just to return home empty handed. Doubt we'll even get a refund. Extremely disappointed and sad that we won't be able to get a lovely souvenir.

Amazing gardens. Well worth the trip. Awesome cafe - big portions and great quality. For Brits reading, compares very favourably to National Trust properties except that the house is the cafe and some indoor shops, including a mini garden centre.

We went there in November, no flowers of course, but the colours were great. Because of the many different plant there, we have been able to see all the colour of Autumn. Great season to go there.
Another good thing is that it is definitely not packed as in summer.

Don't miss the Japanese garden!!

Some assistance is required in the car parks as many large vehicles just seem to be abandoned by there owners. These people have very little regard for any other patrons and can frequently be seen mumbling into there Prada bag franticly looking for change for a moca latte while there car blocks the way for all lesser vehicles and people.

Bit of a money trap - family of 3 here and all together had to pay close to 30 to see the garden. Coffee shop ridiculously expensive which you could understand if the gardens were free but just seemed excessive otherwise.

Its beautiful you can go see santa and have a tasty treat in avoca and you can visit the garden and have a walk around. The stuff in the shop is far too expensive where you can get the same things in a different shop for 100 cheaper

A beautiful place that is worth visiting, the gardens and buildings are incredible, they have a restaurant, cafeteria and shops. The hours are from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm from Monday to Sunday.

While the building itself is somewhat disappointing for people who expected to see the inside of a country manor (it's a good cafe and some shops) the gardens are fantastic and make for a beautiful walk.

My girlfriend and I went there and it was first time visiting Powerscourt Gardens for both of us. The place is certainly worth a visit and the ticketing staff is very professional. The gardens themselves are beautiful and well looked after. We had a nice walk, but we felt as though the venue was slightly overrated as it doesn't in fact offer all that much. As said at the beginning though, it definitely is worth a visit.

In 2010 National Geographic included this in their top 10 list of gardens to see in the World. I can see why. The vistas around the fountains and formal gardens are breathtaking. I particularly loved the Japanese garden and the walled gardens. Great views of the nearby Sugarloaf mountains form a backdrop to the gardens.
I was a bit disappointed in the house. A good restaurant but the remainder of the house was given over to franchised retail outlets. If you like that shopping though there was a vast range; from specialty food, to art, household / furniture, clothing and jewelry. There is a dolls house exhibition, but that is extra to the genera admission cost.
The new Cool Planet exhibition on climate change looked really great but we didn't have the time, leave 2 hours for that exhibition alone.

Well kept gardens, a beautiful place for a walk. The area is vast and great for all ages. The only negative was the restaurant - the food was quintessentially 'Irish', just not prepared well.

Dirty tables , unfriendly staff and stale cakes at an extortionate price we paid 14euro for two slices of cake that we couldn't eat .... wouldn't recommend it and won't be going back!

The property is named after the Norman knight Eustace le Poer. King James I passed the land in 1609 to Sir Richard Wingfield, whom he raised to Viscount Powerscourt. He commissioned the plant around 1730; other ornamental gardens were added in the middle of the 19th century on behalf of the 7th Viscount. Particularly interesting parts of the complex are the Italian and Japanese gardens, the outside staircase between the mansion and Lake Triton, the "Pepper Pot Tower" (a small tower from 1911) and the Bamberg Gate (a gate from the Bamberg Cathedral). Also noteworthy is the small pet cemetery, on which - for some 90 years - dogs, cats, ponies, horses and cows are buried.

What a lovely place to visit! We had great weather the day we visited which made for lovely pictures. Didnt find the walking paths hard to navigate and it was a breeze to get through.

One of the most beautiful places in Ireland. Stunning grounds and majestic gardens. The shops and cafes inside are very good nd promote local/Irish made produce which is always a plus! Friendly and helpful staff. Great day out for the whole family - especially if the weather is nice!

A great place for walks, for meditation, for a small picnic. Great trees, plants, views. Well-stocked expensive shop, expensive restaurant and cafe - are here. I highly recommend visiting these gardens. Especially that during the pandemic there are no such crowds as usual. Because people sit in the cellars, afraid to stick their noses out of their houses. Well, they just sit there and they don't block the tourist attractions of Ireland

Beautiful Garden but it was very crowded when we went. This place is overpriced in our opinion. There is a great ice cream stand just out front of the entrance that servers plain or 99 ice cream.
