Great place to visit, very picturesque

The cafe can be quite expensive at 4 euro per drink, and restaurant prices but lacking the restaurant quality and service. Staff aren't the friendliest either.

Lovely decorations and ambience, I would recommend starting at the tower and working your way round to the Japanese gardens and then pet cemetery and up through the dolphin pond and walled gardens. Winter is not a great time for the walled gardens but summer time is beautiful.

Gardens are great to walk around, found it really relaxing and a way to de stress, price of cafe lost a star - notions cafe would be a better name. Prices still in 2007. The waterfall was lovely too, great day out.

The property is named after the Norman knight Eustace le Poer. King James I gave the land in 1609 to Sir Richard Wingfield, whom he raised to Viscount Powerscourt. He commissioned the plant around 1730; other ornamental gardens were added in the middle of the 19th century on behalf of the 7th Viscount. Particularly interesting parts of the complex are the Italian and Japanese gardens, the outside staircase between the mansion and Lake Triton, the "Pepper Pot Tower" (a small tower from 1911) and the Bamberg Gate (a gate from the Bamberg Cathedral). Also noteworthy is the small pet cemetery, on which - for some 90 years - dogs, cats, ponies, horses and cows are buried.
The Palladian, built around 1730 around an older building to designs by Richard Cassels mansion burned in 1974 in the interior of the gardens completely inside. Meanwhile, a renovation is in progress, which is largely completed. The manor house, reopened in 1997, is today partly a museum (impressive documents on the fire and reconstruction are also on display), other parts are used for events and for shops. The manor house and grounds today include boutiques and a garden center. Also a golf course is accommodated on the area meanwhile.

Lovely walk! The whole walk is around 1.5hours. It is really easy to get there from Dublin and also easy to get to the waterfall from there. They also have a movie explaining the history. Highly recommended!

I highly recommend a visit to Powerscourt House and Gardens. The gardens are a wonderful place to spend time with both formal and informal spaces. There's also the Japanese garden which is very peaceful.
Weekdays are less busy and easier to get around and less busy in the cafe. The house has aself guided tour and film about it's history. There are also several shops selling high quality products including food and clothing. These are well worth a browse. All in all a great place to visit.

Went to the garden centre this was lovely. Loads of choices for plants and planters. Didn't go into the house as we didn't plan to stay long and it was 10 per adult and 6 per child so a bit pricey

Fantastic garden to visit. The japanese garden is of great beauty. A visit is needed at each season. A nice walk for the little legs as well. Price is a bit high, but this garden is definitely well looked after... nice to have the cafe besides as well, the hot chocolate after this was a nice conclusion for our walk.

Steeped in history the most fun thing was the interractive walking tour. A great way to keep children interested, it also was a big eye opener for the big kids. The parkland surrounds need to be seen first hand to be believed. The wonderful building is adorned and surrounded by the most wonderful gardens. Ever popular with tourists it is still possible to feel like you have the place to yourself when you discover a hidden part of these fabulous gardens.

After seeing this beautiful house in The Count of Monte Cristo, we were so excited to see this in person. The property is large and fun to walk around. There's a good video that gives a history of the place if you're there for more than just shopping. The gardens were beautiful!

Had a blast. In the winter it's not quite as colorful but it's still oppulant. Set aside a good three hours though plus an extra one and a half if you want to see the falls as well.

One of the finest Landed Gentry Houses from the past. Owned by the Powerscourt (Wingfield's) Family in the Past. The Gardens are unbelievable as is their Garden Centre.

Spent a lot of time there in the past. Loved it! Could go on and on regarding my time there.

There is a Hotel on the Entry Drive on your left is worth a visit if one can afford it.

There are two of the finest Golf Cources in the Grounds, again on the Drive. If one is into Golf it is well worth a Round or two. Make certain to call and Book.

Amazing in size, vision and overall beauty but some of the gardens are need of weeding, trimming, edging and racking. They tout the National Geographic Award and believe they are not maintaining to that level of care at this time.
